There's always quickie small cones of ice cream available.
![]() Jo: I feel good w/this so far. Yesterday it would have been my down day and I woke up thinking good, I don't have to pack up ridiculously low lunches for us. More freedom. With TOM on the way, I'm not weighing till it's over. Yesterday I was PMS'ng. Doesn't happen often but when it does, GOD help anyone that's near me. Zero tolerance level for me. I'm over it today. |

WOW, everyone. I just send massive amounts of hugs and prayers!
Just wish I had magic words for each of you--everyone seems to be having her own trials right now with dhs, bosses, family, weight and so on. We need a "group hug" icon--I know there is one somewhere, 'cause I've seen it. Anyway, know I'm thinking of you all--each of you throughout the day! Things a tad less stressful now, but I do have to find my goals papers for evaluation--Bossman misplaced them! It's been a good day here, tho--busy and generally "good vibes" all around--believe me, I need one like that!

Heather "Did you make the flax granola or buy it?" ... this made me laugh ..me? make granola ?? I guess I do cook alot, but not anything that requires the least culinary talents haha. Anyway, this is the one from netrition. I still have a tad of the cranberry/almond one and I just bought the cinnamon. I really like them and just throw a couple spoons into my yogurt. I wish I liked almond milk and I'd even have it as cereal once in a while - I miss crunchy cereal once in a while. By the way, I totally understand about not hanging out with the extended family...mine is similar. I "love them" because yeah they are my famiy, but we really have nothing in common and sad to say, but some of them I don't trust either. When I do have to go there I stay in a hotel. I'm glad you are home safe and getting caught up on your rest.
Lory - I made pulled pork on Sunday too. I hope your day is better today and DH returns to his normal, loving self. Happy Annviversary to you - Saturday is my birthday too - so we can toast each other !!! One of my former staff has business out here today and is dropping off my new work cell phone as the phone coordinator works in the same location as my former division. Anyway, it's funny my old desk phone number had the last four digits of "7119" ...my new cell is now also ending in "7119" .... it will be easy to remember. Good omen I say. |

In a much better, although tired frame of mind. DH decided to take vacation so he could go with me camping. Teresa our anniversary is the 28th. The pulled pork was a hit.. I went out to base and had lunch with DH and a few coworkers (also my former coworkers). That is when he said he is taking Friday the 27th off to come stay with me.
I think he relaized he was a jerkface... and knew I would just load up and go without him.. dragging my 26 ft trailer behind his truck!! lol He also decided he could work just 8 hrs today and come drive me to therapy.

Hi, Misty. No, the VP actually wants us to bring in two more candidates--which I think is silly 'cause the one we brought in has 20+ years of alumni experience, and the others aren't even CLOSE. One has about 10 yrs, I think, and the other just 8 years in higher ed but no alumni exp. I dunno...Oh, well! I have been working like a crazy person on itineraries for the both of them but we don't have permission yet from HR (oooooh, the bureaucracy!) to add them to the pool. Grrr. At least I'm doing MY part.
Now I'm starting work on the summer board meeting--in Atlanta. Need to call some restaurants, etc. Heather, I'm glad you're home and getting caught up on rest. Lory, I'm glad YOUR dh has come around--congrats on the anniversary!!! My 20th is in May, so I'll be tellin' y'all if we decide to do something.Teresa--the pulled pork made me think: THAT'S what gave me a toothache just a couple weeks ago. Some teeeeny piece got way up under the gum line. Hygenist says any shredded meat can do that and make you miserable. Hope it's something that easy to fix. ![]() OK--gotta go. |

Lory ::: the whole time I was "chatting" with you last night my husband was in our Bedroom pissed at me ! Didn't want to go into it with you being so upset..... we all have our moments don't we ????
I'm SO extremely happy that he came around this morning and was back to being such a sweet and supportive husband for you ! Probably realized how it sounded AFTER he said it, and then thought about it..... yea !!! Heather: yeah, I know we can't pick our families .... I just wish y'all could have rested another day or two before making the trip back ! Rest up ! Jo : Get that nose checked out ! You never know ;/ Stayed up all night (tlll 4 am ) cause I was mad at DH and cause I needed to sleep some today for work tonight....... DS started the problems as he likes to drink a few beers when he gets home in the evening, and then he starts complaining about work, tells us all the smart aleck comments he told his boss that day, etc.... and when we tell him to find another job, and not talk to his boss like that,...... he gets all pissy. ( You know at 22 they think they know everthing, and with beer on board it's worse) DH hates when the boys talk arrogant ...and don't want to hear anything we have to say Well, that made DH mad and of course we ended up arguing. Ugh...... Ds really needs to move out. I just don't want it to be under bad circumstances. Needs to mature some ![]()

Boy DH was gone for the day, I don't want to catch the bad guy Bug
Went shopping with the girls today and I decided to buy some clothes. One size smaller so if I don't lose enough to get into them I out some money. Eats today SB2 B-coffee and whole wheat bagel and CC L-Seafood wrap D-spareribs, green beans and coleslaw S-grapes Teresa the one thing I like about phase 2 on SB is that I can have wine and whole grains and fruit. So doing atkins induction and SB next day gives me all the foods I love. |

Lory glad Dh came to his senses
Heather OMG - thanks for pointing that out about the granola. I'm going to have to look at it again. I'm not supposed to eat soy - another thyroid thing. I can't tell you guys how many things I'm discovering I'm eating that are all wrong !!!! What a do-do. Linda- ...I must have missed somethin' ...peeps are saying you are on a new program now, what is it? sorry I'm sure you said already...Good Luck anyway !!! Misty "wine and whole grains and fruit" - YES !!! Thanks for the menu sample..., what is "CC" ? THANKS. Toryyou're right about shredded meat... I haven't even eaten any of the pork I made on Sunday because of that. This started on Saturday so I have no idea what caused it...it could be strawberry seeds ...or possibly this cheese I've been eating with little tiny mustard grains in it....it's soooo good though. I may never know.. I just wish it would quit hurting. It's not throbbing like it was so I know that's a good sign, but it's not back to normal either so now it's more annoying than painful. |

Lory: That pork sounds sooooooo good! I bet my DH would love that recipe. Do you mind sharing the exact recipe when you're up to it?
I had good news today from vets office. I took Safi for Xrays on her leg. She doesn't have a tear like we feared like she had on her other leg which we had to get her that titantium knee replacement which cost mega buckeroos. It's just arthritis which we knew about 3 yrs ago. Just a little worse than back then. Also, good news is that her hip dysplasma is better than 3 yrs ago. The Horse strength Glucosomine must be helping out. The vet says she never sees hip dysplasma getting better so keep up the horse meds. So, she's home, ate and now she just remains on the NSAIDS the doc prescribed and hopefully when the weather gets warmer, her leg will feel better. The vet said there are lots of different pain management treatments we can try for her if these pills don't work. Also, structured walking - no letting her run outside loose.

Darn I wrote a whole post and lost it, I hate when that happens.
Teresa CC cream cheese. Mel the seafood wrap was from a place we stopped at for lunch Linda I think being down a lb is good. Last night I reread my original journal that got me to goal and I see so many things that I'm doing wrong. Do you keep a written journal? I'm doing 20 carbs on Atkins and about 80 on SB right now. Hope it works. I just need to eat more that I have been. And I need the variety. I read an article that said eating to little will slow down the metabalisum and stop the weight loss. And I know that's what I was doing. Jo I agree with the others, get your nose checked soon. DH has skin cancer and belive me the longer you wait the deeper it'll go. He had 7 biopsied last month and we go next Wed. to get 5 removed. |

Yes and you know what? Carb Cycling is what you are doing there. I heard that is effective too. It is a fine line to find your sweet spot calorie wise. The calculators don't take into consideration hormones that us middle age woman have to contend with. So, we gotta find our own. |

Linda so glad to hear that Safi is doing better and won't have to have surgery. Oh I just love her picture. An she looks like she's lovin to sit on the chair. I was thinking the same thing when I read that site. It does sound like carb cycling. I love that web site I learn a little more each day.
Mel I can't wait until the weather gets nice enough here to sit and have cocktails. Looking for a new table so we can sit on the deck. Last edited by misty1028; 04-11-2012 at 04:58 PM.. |
