Beebug - so sorry! Life does get sooo tough at times!

Last night my sis had a varicose vein that popped and she had blood everywhere. She didn't even know she had a varicose vein - geez - I never even heard of that happening. They stitched it and told her it happens all the time. So I'm checking myself for varicose veins, getting old is so much fun!

I worked at the food shelf today! Most of the families were single women - older and on their own. All were out of work and looking; but coming up with nothing. So sad! They gave all of us workers are choice of bakery items - so the donuts I picked for my guys are calling to me! I WILL NOT EAT A DONUT!

Off to bed - before I sneak one!

Good Morning All!

I volunteer at the food shelf and usually only work the month of June and the big holidays. Lots of people volunteer for it so it's not very time consuming.

WTG JC that is an amazing weight loss! You go girl!

My sis did not even know she had varicose veins - she was shocked! Something to watch out for - I have been reading up via internet on why we get them. Seems it can be hereditary (and my Grandma had them - big time) or just from lots of standing. Sis kind of goes overboard on the exercising so I was worried that was what was causing it; but apparently not. She has never been in the hospital and only in emergency twice because of this and getting a fishhook caught in her finger. So, she was terrified! I have one starting on my left calf - darn it! I always sit on that leg - wondering if that is why??? I just now am able to cross my legs comfortably (isn't that sad) and now I'm afraid to. Hubby says he saw lots of problems in men too from his army days; so guess it is more common then I thought it was. Yikes something else to worry about!

Awe, I am so sorry for sis! That had to be terrifying. Coleen, I wouldnt count it as something to "worry about". Worry causes stress.... Just know that VV are something to be aware of and like any heriditary condition (like diabetes & heart disease) & live a lifestyle that will prevent or slow down the progression of the affliction. Things like wearing support hose when you are on your feet or sitting for long periods may be useful. Just look at it as one more challenge you are willing to take on and CONQUOR BADGER STYLE!

Merinda, sometimes life just doesnt seem fair! Lots of people for you to support! WE ARE HERE TO SUPPORT YOU! Take care of yourself as you care for others...

Ouch on the bursting varicose vein! I didn't know they did that either!

JC, grats on the 240's!!

I am really excited today, I weigh a weight I have not weighed in a long time!! 244 baby! How I am managing to stay with this through all this stress lately, I am so proud of myself. If I can just make it to July 16th and the end of the last pageant I am ever putting on myself, I will be golden!! The big blanket of stress will be lifted.

Hey do any of you guys know what kind of yogurt to get - my daughter is really wanting yogurt and I had read full fage but sure not seeing that in our grocery. Also they all say some high number of carbs but I have been reading you don't count all the carbs in yogurt, what do you guys count when you have it, what kind and how much!

Yogurt that has been flavored is very high in carbs. I really like Fage 0% ~ WalMart carrys it. Any PLAIN yogurt works but the Greek plain (doesnt matter what brand) has lots more protein in it due to the way it is cultured & strained. Greek is thick & creamy! If you need flavors you can use some SF Jello or even SF individual drink mixes like Crystal Lite or Hawiian Punch. Hope this helps!

Hi all!

I had to take a sleeping pill last night! I am very groggy today. Turned the air off - as it is not too muggy or hot today! A nice change; as humidity just wears me out.

I found a swimsuit on One Hanes for 16 bucks well more with the shipping. The reviews were good on it. It's a black tankini - so hoping it fits! Going back up to the lake end of July and my sis wants to do water aerobics. I can't stand that hanging butt of my old one, but I liked it's style. This is supposed to be anti-chlorine. Well, the price was right and it wasn't one of those flowery old lady suits!

I use the Fage zero - yep I too find it at Walmart! I like it with lemon sf jello and ground up walnuts on the top.

Have a good day all. I am going to fix myself a mess of bacon!

Cara,
I try to find Fage full fat b/c with the fat replacing some of the whey/curds... it's a little less carby + the fat is satisfying. And I use sf jello and/or Davinci's syrups to flavor a little.

Thanks for your support! Tommorow my SIL (DHs youngest sister) is getting married and my youngest is the flower girl so we are off shortly to the dress rehearsal. So goes life, a death, an injury, a marriage. Please don't let me be the one to have the baby lmao! I got my haircut this morning. I'm starting to get used to the new me I think. My BFF was looking through some old pics of us and was telling me she couldn't remember us being big, just as we are now. I bought a hot dress for the wedding Can't wait to have some new family photos with the me I've always wanted to be!

Hey everyone! I've been in Florida on Vacation, and I am happy to report that even though I have been surrounded by you name it:cake, cookies, cupcakes, chips, donuts, cereal, hamburgers, candy, ice cream, etc.... I have stayed 100% on plan! Tomorrow is my last full day, and then I'm leaving early Saturday. I may weigh in when I get home to see where I stand, and I'll let everyone know! I have missed you guys! I have not been doing p90x since I've gotten here, but before I left, I was in the middle of week3. I have been getting exercise though: swimming, long walks in the sand, stair climbing. I'll be starting p90x up again when I get home. Sadly TOM just arrived, so if I'm up at all, that may be why!

I am so satisfied with a full tummy . I had a giant plate of hot buffalo wings for lunch and oh did it hit the spot! Only on Atkins could you dive face first in such tangy spicy joy slathered in extra hot sauce and plunged in full fat creamy ranch!

Oh the joy!

Beebug Sorry to hear about all the trauma in your life atm. Hope everyone heals and you have a great time at the wedding! Get some great pics of you looking fantastic and show em of hehe!

Amber - uh I adore tony but having old pics needs to go for sure! Get printing! Its sweet (or lazy) that he adores you big or small and has pics to show off.

Yay for everyone else sticking to plan n stuff.

I am here, LC mostly although I have been sick with a debilitating migraine, and the only thing I could keep down was a bowl of rice. Today should be good - I have some veggies and chicken and some little shellfish things - not sure the name you guys call them in the states but planning to make a seafood soup with them. Scale is moving back towards where it should be. Half of the water weight has gone, and the rest should go by weigh day I suspect.

Hi all!

Have been getting ready for company and having company. But, on plan so far this week! Hard to stay on when I have to cook with flour and sugar; but haven't touched any goodies yet! Lord, give me strength!

Hope all are having a good weekend!

Wittykitty - man you are a tough one! well done sticking to plan despite having to cook with that stuff. I'm a spoon licker so that would just about kill me.

JC - slips happen to the best of us . At least you got some pretty immediate negative feedback fromm your body reminding you what happens when you go frollicking among the cupcakes. Hope the headache goes soon and you're feeling back to your old self.

The rest of you - where are youuuu, come out and plaaayyy

Had a nice surprise on the scale this morning. Have lost all the water weight from my beer drinking trip, er I mean visiting friends trip. And, it took an extra 0.2lbs giving me a nice VWT number. Fingers crossed for tomorrows weigh day its down another little bit. Overall I haven't lost a huge amount, but I think 11+lbs in 13 weeks is decent, considering I have been traveling for 6 of those weeks.

I upped my fat a LOT today - did sort of a modified fat fast - didn't count calories or do the 5 meals (well, I did sort of count calories, But I wasn't trying to stay under anything - ended up 1600). Couple of strips of bacon with eggs with cheese & cream cheese & southwestern seasoning for breakfast, 10 walnut halves for lunch (really wasn't hungry) and then an avocado with some blue cheese for dinner and 1 cream cheese cloud. Interesting to see what that does, if anything. Hoping it shocks my system into heading downwards further into virgin territory. Should be interesting - never tried that before. I will say I haven't been hungry AT ALL which they say is a benefit to more fat.
