Hey Coleen, I'm feeling a little better today. My chest doesn't hurt as bad. But I'm still having coughing spells and wheezing.

Coleen, I am glad you are gifting grains! I have almost 2 cups of them so I am kefiring a gallon at a time in the fridge for several days! I will be sending some to Ireland soon. Think I will send enough for her to start gifting right away. Happy you are having fun! Nikki glad you are better! Next time (if there is one) don't wait so long please. Merinda in Mud! AWESOME! Merinda- I love your avi!
Yup, very fitting for a BAHB. Oh, and thanks for "liking" our fb page Colleen- Thanks. We're still in our infancy stage, really. We're working hard to get our name out there though. Today was productive - I did my 5k run/walk then helped my mom with some gardening while the kids ran around outside. It's nice to be able to enjoy the weather |

Hey guys I missed my weigh in day...and I am going to be on vacation for the next 2. So please don't throw me out lol I will be back and when I get home I am going to get back on this with a vengeance. My adult daughter is here visiting me and we have been having a much needed WONDERFUL time, and I haven't been on plan at all. Not gaining (at least not much, still fitting into everything lol) But not weighing until I get back from the cruise. Please don't toss me. I will be back here for the May 7th weigh in! |

Good Morning All!
Amber - read that article - omigod that is awful and very scary!
Have to tell you all - I ran into a friend yesterday who I did not recognize she was so different. She had the surgery - and lost 130 pounds. It was so fun to see her - she is just bubbling (soooo happy). She has always been heavy and was on diabetes II meds. So she really did it for health reasons. But she is just cute as can be! She looks 20 years younger. She is divorced and has joined a dating site and is just having a ball! She had a guy drive up from Mississippi and she had pics on her phone (not bad looking)! She has had it tough - very messy divorce from a real jerk of a husband (ran around on her) not good in a small town everyone knew it and it was very embarrassing for her. She just kind of hid for a long time from all of us. Anyway, her personality has totally changed because she is just so loving the new her. I was just shocked and delighted for her - was soooo fun to see my old friend so happy! She really inspired me to get moving and get on with this! We are meeting again soon can't wait! Coleen |

Amber, that is crazy! I can see how swimming across a river would be dangerous though if you don't have good technique you waste a lot of energy in your strokes, that many people thrashing around and someone could get knocked unconcious
I swam competatively in my teens and did a few rough waters (open ocean races) and the starts were very scary to me with all of the people trying to get through the surf to the open water. |

That video is scary, Amber. That poor family! I know I wouldn't want to be swimming in such close quarters. <shudder>
Melanie- Congrats on another milestone! Girl, you're on fire!!! Nikki- It's my business's fb page: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?...88656934479699 We plan children's birthday parties Cara- Have fun on your vacation! Colleen- I love hearing stories like that. People who are able to pick themselves up after a horrible situation and take control of their happiness. It's so inspiring I went to zumba tonight for the first time. So much fun!!! The instructor reminds me so much of Amber, sooo energetic and she lost over 100 lbs through working out. Someone said she started with belly dancing, then zumba and liked it so much she started teaching it! I seriously don't think I have ever met anyone with so much energy. The 1hr class flew by and even though I was drenched in sweat, I didn't feel like I was working out at all! I'll def. have to go back again

Hi All!
Last night my son calls me from work and tells me he has to bring a dish to share to work today. He wanted me to make Better than sex cake. This is the dessert that knocked me for a loop the day after my clean Thanksgiving meal. Well I made if for him! But, I told him make sure it is all gone and an empty cake pan comes home with you (why do I think standing up with a spoon in hand and gulping down carbs doesn't really count?) So I made lc peanut butter cookies from Candice's web site as a counter to the cake - this recipe has coconut flour. I used Ideal sugar substitute and did not have the usual salty taste I find when baking with splenda. They are good!
I have a big bloody blister on my heel - so new shoes aren't working out too well. But my short sock kept slipping off my heel (had to stop twice to pull it back up) need better socks me thinks! I am maybe walking too far and too soon before shoes are worn in properly! Funny thing (I thought) women is saying she uses the line "bikini season" when people are trying to get her to eat carby stuff. And someone (Glamzon's discovery of the mostly male Reddit r/keto peeps) replied, "well it doesn't really work when I am eating a pound of bacon dipped in mayo and they offer me a wheat thin cracker". ROFL! |

While I have been off work the last few days, I have been doing some thinking. I brought up to the people in the office at work the ideal of us having a weight loss contest this summer. They seemed to like the ideal and my boss even said he would come up with a cajun name for our group. I hope the others at work will join in.

Sorry I haven't posted in a couple of days. Kind of bummed. Not feeling super pumped and I need something to pick up my spirits, diet-wise. My friend who works in catering came by yesterday and dropped off a bunch of prime rib and bacon-wrapped shrimp - that helped a little. I think my biggest problem is that I remember when I first tried this diet years ago and how easy it was to drop the pounds. I went from 210 to 160 in what felt like no time. Now I seem to have long-term, zig-sag plateaued at 180ish, and I can't seem to shake it.
Any ideas? WittyKitty- I feel your pain. Handling desserts is probably what drug addicts feel like when people ask if they want a hit. "No thanks man...I'm on the wagon." |
