I'm thinking about adding flax seed back into my diet so I can have Dobie's muffins again. Anyone else eat those? I make them with banana or blueberry DaVinci's and they're pretty good and filling. Only about 100 calories and 1g of carbs.

I never put my real name or face online. I'd rather my violent ex didn't stumble across my whereabouts or personal business. You never know who's lurking.

The muffin recipe is here:

Basic Flax Muffins...(cheap and good). I posted to it to bump it up, but it's sinking again. They're a lifesaver when you're starving and can't spare many calories. I always used them to get my daily dose of coconut oil, which I otherwise can't stomach. They really cling to the pan though. I use a non-stick pan and still have to spray it with Pam or I'll have to cut them out of there with a knife.

ETA: they're much better with golden flax meal. The brown stuff makes them taste kind of bitter.

So many things going on I don't know which to deal with first. I have been eating way too much the last few days obviously. I am depressed and have been popping meclizine and zofran several times a day for a few days now, due to my Meniere's disease flaring up. I am thinking I may need to go back on my Wellbutrin or try 5htp?? Sorry to be such a downer but I feel like crap. I know exercise will help, but first I need to get rid of the dizziness.

Jeanie, sorry you're having such a hard time right now. Take care of the physical ills and then just get back on plan, but don't beat yourself up if you gain some until then. Just look at how far you've come and take pride in that! You'll be headed back down toward your goal in no time!

I'm going into town to put a check in the bank and then to a pet store to buy some goldfish for the fish pond that dh cleaned out yesterday. Then more gardening for me, and tonight, dinner with friends at a lake marina. I'll try not to stray too much from plan at dinner!

Everyone have a great weekend!

jeannie - I'm glad you're here. like Texas Cowgirl said - worry about the medical and mental stuff first and the diet and exercise after you feel better.

Nice to see you, TCG and congrats on the loss! Just think of that whoosh when you're at the marina!

I've come to the conclusion that the scale is officially unreliable at bedtime. Last night it said 135.5 and I'm still at 135 today. Glad that's over and now I can refrain from the night time weighing.

Hey girls!!

Jeannie- Hope you're feeling better. Dh takes wellbutrin daily. Fabulous!! And really helped him lose weight. Get it if it'll help you.

Brandy-so understand!! I too gained the first few days and panicked!! I'm back down now and "in the groove". If you try again, be patient for 2 weeks w/ the scale!

NH-good for you!! Finished week 2 last night w/ dh Felt good!! Not sure about week 3. 3 minutes straight?

Dh's grandpa died today Like a dad to him. We know he's celebrating in heaven, but we'll all miss him a lot!

Have a good weekend all.

julie - Give my condolences to your DH and I'll say a prayer for the whole family. My Mom died at Easter time and I've never felt much like celebrating Easter since.

I'm down another pound today. I probably should raise my calories some while I'm scrubbing this place and moving stuff. ****** doesn't have options for "carry heavy-a$$ dressers in and out of truck", so some of my exercise isn't being accounted for in my calorie requirements. Oddly enough, they have an option for "walk to outhouse". As if a lot of people still do that.

Have a nice day, all! I'm going to get a load of stuff moved before my morning ketosis high runs out.

Oh my gosh. dh and I were just talking about outhouses the other day, though I can't remember for the life of me what brought it up. I remember my grandma having one (we were kids and thought it was cool ) Not only that, but I also remember when the rest stops along the highways in North Dakota had them!

My dh noticed I was wearing my "teeny jeans" yesterday.

Have a super Sunday!

everyone!

Julie, so sorry for the loss of your dh's grandfather. Prayers for him and the whole family!

Sounds like I need to put Cat in my name -- you girls are doing great! on the teeny jeans and the Whooshes! I'm trying to break into the 170s but I keep bouncing up and down.

NH, do you think the weight forecasting would work better if we weighed three times a day? OK, maybe I am getting a bit obsessive about this!

SlimLizzie, I saw your post on another thread, and I know you're almost in the 170's. Any secrets you could share?

to Gremom, Garden, Brandy, and anyone else I may have missed. Would write more but the kitchen is calling -- cooking, not snacking!

Have a great Sunday afternoon!

Julie-So sorry about DH's grandpa!

Cowgirl, I got into the 170's briefly before Christmas, and I think for a week this year, but I can't seem to stay there. I think 180-181 is a set point for me, my body seems to like that weight even though I don't!

Don't give me any ideas. I need to start weighing about once a month until I get my sanity back. I've shown more emotion to that scale than to my husband lately.

Welcome back, Crazy Cat!

Actually, I didn't make this up. Discovery Health says the average person experiences a 2 - 3 pound water loss during a night's sleep. The loss is through respiration, sweating and getting up for the bathroom. I don't care if it is water loss, I want it!!!

Wicked T-storm passing through. Weather bureau says 70 mph winds & half-dollar sized hail. Dh & I are hunkered down and hanging on tight. But very little rain so far!

Crazy Cat, maybe we'll break into the 170s together! On another thread, Sarge's Bring It... Freeman and I along with some others are trying to and everyone is cheering us on. It's hard, though. We are all bouncing up and down. Set point, like you said.

Stay safe if this weather is coming at you!!!

Man, I'm whooped. Got the dressers, book case, gun cabinet and a bunch of other stuff into storage. Took the garbage to the dump, then I went to Walmart and shopped, then to the 5th wheel, which is at a park about 1/2 hour from here. Dropped some stuff off there and picked up my sleeping bags so I can wash the bedding and put it away. I got back just after 7:00, which is when I talk to DH every night. He was talkative tonight and I just now had my dinner. I had an Atkins bar with me all day, but never got hungry enough to eat it. My whole bod hurts though. I knew I'd better get the rest of the heavy stuff gone because I'm probably going to be in pain tomorrow.

I know you didn't make that up, Texas - I heard that years ago and used to always weigh 2 lbs. more at bedtime. It doesn't seem to be that way now though, maybe because my water weight is gone. But of COURSE I'll have to test this further now! I just got on the scale and it says 134.5.

At 4:15 a.m. the scale said 133.5. So I guess there's no set pattern with my bedtime weight. One day it was 1 1/2 lb. more, one day only 1/2 lb, and 2 days at 1 lb.

I also read somewhere years ago that your lowest weight of the day will be at about 9:00 a.m., even if you've just eaten. When I tested it at the time, it was true for me, but not anymore.

I've tested these different weight times NH, and like you said have found that after the big water loss the night time weight and morning weight get closer together. You are doing great I can't wait to get back in the low 130's! I am close to tears getting ready for work today as they are calling for 90 degree temps and none of my summer stuff fits. Good thing is it is motivating me to get back to serious weight loss!

Happy Monday To All!

Julie, so sorry to hear of your family's loss. You have alot on your plate right now. My heart goes out to you!

Sounds like the scale is bouncing around for everyone. I was up a pound yesterday and down a pound today. I've started logging my food and it was really making me mindful of what I put in my mouth until yesterday when I got sabotaged! DH and I went out in the boat and I packed a very acceptable lunch and pre-logged it into Fat Secret. Well, we ended up stopping by a friend's pier. Needless to say, 4 couples ended up on the boat, went to a marina restaurant for lunch and drinks! Had a great time, but eating plan was a bust! Was hoping for a drop in weight today, but maintained instead - can't complain!

Back to the plan today and hoping for a loss on Friday!

Yes, it's too hot too soon in Maryland Jeanie !!!!

Crazy Cat, I'm trying to get into the 170's. Was there for about 15 minutes back in January. My body seems to be trying to stay in the low 180's as I move back and forth between 181 and 184.

We can do this!

Thank you ladies for your condolences. I am happy for Grandpa, since he's in glory, but dh is mourning. He was such a great man and quite the influence on dh. I'm kinda' numb since he lived in MN and we haven't seen him since Oct. It'll hit me more once we go visit. Can't really afford for dh to fly there for the funeral w. the upcoming closing on the house. That'll be hard on him. But, Grandpa would understand.

My mom is making painfully slow progress. The money will likely run out before she's able to walk on her own. We'll need to face that in a few weeks. Thank you for asking .

You guys are all doing well!! Those set points are really frustrating!! I had a set point around 180 as well, then again at 175. I would lose then any indulgence would bump me right back up to those set points. You guys can do it. Be persistent w. it, and eventually your bodies will let go!!

NH-good for you doing all that heavy lifting!! On so few calories? Amazing!! I agree, the activity section on ****** stinks!! at the outhouse!! I will be doing lots of activity this next few weeks. Sigh. Wish I could fast forward to early June and be all moved in. Sigh.

Clean LC today-barely in my "window". Need to visit mom - do her taxes, deposit her check, pay her bills, shop for her, then come home and pack, clean, teach my girls, pack some more, pick up some boxes, clean and clear out some more... You get the picture. Planning a yard sale for Friday and Saturday, which is a necessary evil. I hate them, although dd's love them, and it'll be a quick way to move most of their toys etc. out. Not excited about today, but here we go!!

Julie-I'm sorry your husband can't go to the funeral, I'm sure that will be hard for him. But his grandfather wouldn't want him to stress about it, and he's already gone on to a better place.

Maybe we should start a "Break through your setpoint" challenge, lol. I'm determined to get in to and stay in the 170's by my birthday in mid-may. My last set point was 185-187, it took me forever to get past that.

Julie-I am so sorry to hear about your husband's grandpa, and moreover that he can't go to the funeral. My grandmother just passed away in December and I know how I would have felt if I couldn't have been there.
Also, I will try to be patient. I wish I could think of the stupid number on the scale as just that-a number! I always pay more attention to that than anything else!!!

But the good news is it looks like I need to set a new Memorial Day goal, cuz it was 210, and I am now at 208.8.

Have a great day, everybody!!!
