I had breakfast this morning at 11:30 (cheese eggs & sausage) and haven't been hungry since. I cooked spaghetti & meatballs for my husband but I think the cooking smells took my appetite. It's like not being hungry when your nose it stopped up, I guess.

No dinner for me tonight - it's now 8:15.

We didn't make it to Lincoln City. Went south and then headed over to Reedsport to the Elk refuge than north to Newport and then took Hwy 20 home(we live in Lebanon). I do love Lincoln City and go there a lot to play at the casino and shop the outlet mall. Maybe a meet up is in our future!

I'd like to join!

Hi! I'm fairly new around here, and am on my 3rd lc go-round since 2005. I started again January 8th, and have lost 15 pounds so far, and really really want to get it in gear! I'd love to lose another 20 pounds by June 1st. I'm at 189 right now, so that would be 169.

Thanks!

to all the Newbies! I'm a newbie myself.

I made my goal for the week, I'm at 247, down 3.

HOWEVER, we went downtown Denver to celebrate St. Paddy's tonight and while I was pretty good, I'm expecting I will probably fluctuate up on the scale tomorrow morn.

Well maybe not, hoping and the number stays the same. Had 1/2 crab cake, 1/2 a curry egg roll deally, 3 large scallops, cabbage braised in wine, a taste of fried brussel sprouts with bacon , and buttermilk mashed potatoes. And oh yeah, 1 glass of wine, and a spoon of banana cream pie. Now usually I would come home from an event like this and have a big bowl of ice cream or two--but no, not the new me, I won't!

I'm hoping the vinegar in the cabbage and the buttermilk in the potatoes-which is acidy-will negate a goodly portion of the carbs. (according to a post running in the main lobby, it should help). Maybe I'll go have a TBS of cider vinegar right now just to make sure.

See ya tomorrow.

Welcome Emlyn & Ricci!

Heidi, I have a son at the academy up the hill from you Hopefully he was not in Denver partying! lol

Cathy & Lynn, I'm in Northern California and have done a drive up the Oregon coast a couple of times. Lovely lovely lovely part of the country you guys are in! Of course it's not bad here in the Sierra foothills, either, but who doesn't love the coast <3

Hope everyone's doing well this weekend. The scale wasn't as nice to me this morning as it was yesterday, but I've dropped a few this week, so can't complain. Would love one more by tomorrow. We'll see

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Hey Emlyn! Welcome. Our other group is a bit slow right now and this group is really really helping me stay on track. I'm glad you popped on over!

They have helped me go 1 month today with no alcohol Made it through the weekends, and most importantly, TOM!!!!!!!! I always drink during TOM because I never lose and always gain water weight, but I told myself, I'll be rewarded after its over, and I hope Im right. We shall see in a few days.

Welcome Ricci! I remember you, haven't seen you around in a while, glad your back! I've been doing Les Mills Body combat and I love it. Zumba is not for me, but I am so glad I found the classes at my gym. Instructors like you really change lives. Thanks for being comitted

Congrats on the 3lbs Heidi, that's fantastic!!!!!

Browyn some days we're just not hungry. Don't worry about it. Just remember that and don't feel so guilty on a super hungry day when you can't stop eating. We all have both of those

Everyone is doing great!

Me, I'm down to 224.2. I started the week at 227.4, so I've lost a bit of the water I gained. I'm right in the middle of TOM so hopefully I'll get some more water off soon. My low was 222.8 so I'm still up 1.6lbs from that. I'm going out of town for a conference for work probaby late Tuesday night and I won't be back until very very early Saturday morning. I'm going to focus on pushing my water, keeping meals very simple meat and a little veg, no sauces minimal dairy, and tell them no seasoning. That's the plan. I think the hotel has a little fitness room, not expecting much, I would KILL to see a Gold's Gym in the town lol.

My goal for the week. 218. Big dreams from a former big girl

Body Combat class at 2 if I can make my legs cooperate. This will be my 4th Combat class in a row and all the ascheevaing (sp?) is killing my legs

Major achievement!!

Whether you gain or lose this week, you're already rewarded, IMHO, because you did what you determined to do. No matter what happens on the scale, can't take that away from you!!

Welcome to all the new people!! And wtg everybody!!

Lynne

P.S. Still 202. But: now thinnest I've been in 25 years...

P.S.S. Cathy, I'll look forward to seeing you next time you make it to LC! That would be awesome!!

Thank you Lynn! You guys are inspiring me to go to body combat and push through it.

Congrats on being a skinny minni!

My menu today:

B-coffee, hwc, MR "oatmeal" made with unsweetened coconut dream. New find and I love it.
L-herb miracle rice with garlic butter tilapia
D-herb miracle rice with garlic butter tilapia
S-cold shrimp dipped in mayo/sriracha mixture.

Hopefully I can keep my menu to that. Water and coffee throughout.

My scale floated upward for me too this a.m. , but as I was sort of expecting it, I'm not too bummed. I will be eating only 2 meals today, pushing the fluids, and no snacking, so that should bring it back down to 247 I hope by tomorrow morning.

Then I can start fresh on my new goal for the week--it's an ambitious one--going for 4 lbs this week!! I have a 'schedule' of sorts to make a certain weight by a family wedding this August and I am determined to get there, so I need to stay on my schedule.

It's an unusually warm and sunny day in Co today and I had planned on a nice walk outside, but the wind has kicked up something awful and it's blustery and dirty/dusty outside so I guess the recumbent bike it is, darn.

Good going on no booze for a month MsWoods, wow, I am impressed!

Thanks for the welcome, everybody!

And hey Michelle!!! You are just amazing and I am so impressed that you've stayed alcohol free for a whole month. That is so impressive, along with the weight loss. Go you!!! Hope you're able to hang tough while you're at that conference, and getting to know you like I have been, I'm totally betting on you!

No loss today, still at 189. I am being very strict today after having too many dark chocolate bites last night.

Just curious what different people's carb level (or net carb level) is for continued loss, after induction? I didn't do induction this time, which is why I have lost relatively little since January 15, but I knew I couldn't do it, and that I could do the more moderate version. I swing between 40 and 60 a day real carbs, not net. Anyone out there only counting net carbs? Just trying to gather more information!

Thanks for your help with this!!!

Good evening everyone! Nice to meet our new friends here on this thread!

I didn't weigh this morning because I'm having trouble in the bathroom dept and haven't been able to 'go' for a couple of days.

Anyway, enough TMI - here's what I ate today:
B - 2 breakfast burritos at McD's but didn't eat the burrito part; diet Dr Pepper
L - broiled Tilapia, steamed broccoli, salad; unsweet tea (cafeteria)
D - Quarter Pounder w/cheese at McD's but didn't eat the bun; diet Dr Pepper

My husband loves McD's but I can't eat the salads there b/c of the MSG or whatever they put it them...always makes me break out in hives.

Hopefully, my digestive problems will resolve themself by morning so I can weigh. I see some stool softener in my immediate future.

Have a great evening!

Everyone is doing AWESOME! Still TOM here so I haven't really bothered weighing. I think I was 196 tonight with clothes on, but everything is so screwed up around this time, I have no clue what I really weight so I don't torture myself. We are leaving tomorrow night for Tulsa to fly out on Tuesday morning. I'm going to need some great vibes to get me through tuesday unscathed. Breakfast at the hotel (continental and we all know what that means ) at the airport by 9:30, maybe a quick bite, but fly out at 11:00, 50 minute layover in Dallas which is really short with 3 kids, then on the plane until 9 PM our time. No food, no dinner, nada. I'm going to try to stay strong and did pack some atkins bars and low carb trail mix but its going to be HARD! I would really like to see 186 by the time I come home but that is pretty unlikely.

emlynb I'm not going to be much help as I don't really "count" carbs, never have. I probably average around 30-40 a day (that's a total guess) but I'm more about making the right food choices and not getting to detailed in the numbers themselves. I'm sure that slows me down and I would love to be more detail minded but I never am.

MsWoods, I am so amazed at 1 month without alcohol! My DH introduced me to rum and coke zero and I'm in love so I've been "cheating" with that 2-3 nights a week and really wish I could quit but its SOOO hard. Send me a little of your motivation.

Also so excited to see all you beauties at REALLY close to onederland. It is/was/will be the most WONDERFUL feeling in the world when you get there and stay there for a little while. Its so totally worth it and I'm proud of you all!

Hope you guys have an awesome week!

Yay Boop! Boys to Men & a continental breakfast with more than muffins, bananas and a waffle maker! lol

WooHoo Lynne! Omg, the thinnest in 25 years! Wow! That's awesome! Well done! And so close to onederland, too! How exciting!!!

Emlynb, I'm at induction levels and plan to stay here for a while longer, but I wholeheartedly believe that you have to do what works for you and find a WOE that you can stick with. So make your plan work for you and don't sweat the slower loss... a slow loss is always better than gaining

Bron, hope your tummy cooperates for the morning. That's never a comfortable feeling!

Brew, good luck with the trip! I don't envy you making it with 3 kids! You can do this, though

Thanks Everybody!

Brewstate--It makes a lot of sense that you wouldn't count carbs at all if you were eating induction-style, so to speak. I'm just an obsessive journaler, and since I'm writing everything else down, I write down the carbs, too.

Plus, I've been eating Quest bars, which have a relatively high total carb count, but are only 4 or 5 net carbs. Hmmm....

Any thoughts on that? Or on the Atkins bars, for that matter?

Am I asking a lot of stupid questions?

Thanks again for welcoming me, everybody!

Yeah, I've been doing this for several years and my way just kind of evolved. I probably eat more carbs than I know as I'm not really a breakfast eater so I eat a lot of cheese on the run and don't really measure it but make better choices as a whole and try to stay away from too many low carb "treats".

I am OK with atkins bars or shakes in a pinch (I'm taking some with me on this trip in fact) but I try to choose real food if I have the choice. My philosophy is when you can avoid unnatural and processed food, do, but don't sweat something now and again. Its better than going crazy at the vending machine and eating 16 candy bars. I rarely use them but my husband does at work sometimes and it hasn't seemed to stall him.

Good luck! You'll figure out what works best for you along the way.

Oh, and Emlyn, I find I do much better when I keep track of what I'm eating, too. I use ******'s free online version, but there are many programs out there. Keeping a journal or food log and calculating by hand, of course, works well, too. It's just another layer of accountability for me.
