Did I mention here (to my challenge friends) that I am a "success story" on the atkins.com site? I won a contest last year and my story is up on their site now (p.4 last I checked).

Anyway, the P.R. lady from Atkins called me over the weekend and asked me if I'd be willing to be interviewed for a magazine or newspaper regarding my weight loss. She says they're always looking for personal stories. Pictures, recipes, etc. I told her I was 156lbs, so I better do well in this challenge so I can walk my talk It's fun and exciting, but I guess since I've been living LC for so long I am used to it. It's not new or exciting to me anymore. But back in 2004 when I was losing the majority of my weight I couldn't have been more excited.

So, that's my news . I hope you don't feel like I'm bragging. I am excited but there aren't too many people in my "real" life who would understand or likely care, so I wanted to share it here w/ my LCF's who I know understand.

Mined if I join you in this challenge. I really like to be back to goal once again. Last year I said I'd do it around this time and didn't. So this time I going to do it. weight this morning is 138.8 so down a little from last month. I'd love to lose at least 5lbs this month.

I'd like to join this challenge. Since starting last Monday I lost 5lbs but the scale seems to not want to move down anymore I'm really hoping to be down 10lbs by the end of this challenge!!

I've been eating steel cut oats all week, and TOM came early (again!! ) which sent me off in search of chocolate!! So, the scale is up a bit. Trying to reign it in since Friday we weigh. Really happy to weigh in Fridays!!

Thanks for your kind words and encouragemet. I tried on my size 6 jeans last night and they're so tight now . But, but the end of this challenge they will fit like a dream and I'll be wearing them all the time again!!

Can't wait to feel 100% and hit those weights!! I will start back walking today (there, I wrote it so now I have to do it!!). Maybe do weights tomorrow. We'll see.

The exercise part has to become a habit again. I have been off track since Oct w. my broken toe, the holidays and this rotten cold!! Enough!! Back to "normal" which ought to include regular exercise. Come on!!

Leisha I hope you had a great birthday!! I hope you get your wish for Friday weigh in as a gift.

Well I follow a restricted Weight Watchers but today was not a perfect day. I have severe insulin resistance so I have to watch everything it seems and make sure I don't forget the meds.

This was my not perfect menu for today.

Breakfast: Lowfat cottage cheese and 4 slices of peaches 1 point
Snack: Vegetable soup 1 Point
Lunch: 1/2 turkey meatloaf sandwich 4 Points
Dinner: a chicken soft taco Fresco 6 points
Snack: Brussel Sprouts

So about 13 points for the day

Tomorrow is a potluck at work but I have my lunch packed 4 oz chicken and asparagus. None of the junk tomorrow!!

One Day Late Julie !

I've had my eggbeater parm omelet and 2 cups of coffee and am sitting in my recliner at 8:30 am ! Very unusual for me - I have the day off from my grandtwins (17 mo) because I get to have a mammogram today - OH JOY ! Need to get out of the chair - but it feels so good to RELAX ! I'll get in the shower at 9:00 - yea that's my plan !

I'm a little jealous of your relaxing! DS who is 3 gets me up at 6 nearly everyday. But when he naps today, I am resting before my girls get home from school. Have fun withthe mamagram!

Tania, I am not sure how WW works, but one of my besties does it and she is doing well. But she does the old point system and she tried to explain it to me and she lost me comparing the 2. Your menu looks tasty, but the higher carbs wouldn't be good for me. Hope your day is good today!

Was down today and I really hope it sticks for our weigh in tomorrow. Did my workout for today and am gonna keep my cals a little lower since they were high yesterday.

Stacey-sounds like you're off to a great start. Now that you've been doing it a while, how do you like EFGT? Lower protein and higher fat, still LC, right? I'm considering it, but for now and still working my way back to general Atkins. Great job on the workouts!! I need to get into the routine again myself. We're doing a zipline and ropes course on Sat (part of dh's bday celebration) so that should count as some exercise

Leisha-birthday calories shouldn't count!! Glad you had a fun day!!

Lizzie! Good to have you back with us!! I think this will be our season!!!

Tania-you're doing great!! Sounds like you have a good plan and are in control. I'm still kinda' drifting.

Garden-I should get a mamo myself. You're a good person . I'm not a Dr person and tend to ignore medical advice. Enjoy the rest of your day off.

NewJoy- go "back" to Hawaii? Sounds good and motivational to me!! I wish I could GO to Hawaii!! Someday. I'd select a nice new bathing suit, a size or 2 smaller, for that trip and work into it! I do better with some type of goal.

Toward that end, I need to set a goal or 2 for myself. I'm a big believer that "if you aim at nothing you'll hit it every time". So...

Here are my goals for this challenge:
1. Stick to LC. Induction for a few days to get back into ketosis, then Atkins OWL from there.
2. Exercise 3 times a week. This will include weights, light cardio and my softball game .
3. Get comfortably back into my size 6 Levi's.

Ok, now that I see them in black and white, that's not so hard. I can do it!!

How 'bout you guys? What are your goals for this challenge?

Goodmorning girls, can't wait to start tomorrow, although I really started on induction the beginning of the year. But this challenge will surely keep me accountable. This time last year I was saying the same thing and kept slipping off. And then by bathing suit season I would put one on. I like right on the lake, so I had the funniest tan lines ever.

leisha glad you had a great birthday.

My plans for this month
gym 4-5 days a week
stay on inductions for the month
drink plenty of water daily
lose 5 lbs--weight loss has been slow so I hope I make it.

Happy Belated Birthday to Leisha !!!

Gremom - I didn't know what to do with myself without the babies today! It is cold and rainy so I couldn't do any yard work and I certainly did not want to clean a bathroom either ! So, I surfed the web, read a little, put some porkchops in the crockpot, got cleaned up, went for the mammo. Now I'm enjoying a decaf hazelnut coffee.

Back to normal tomorrow!

My goals for this challenge will be to continue to low carb, start walking as the weather improves and encourage everyone to stick with their plans for success and to lose at least 5 pounds.

I really like EFGT so far. I have upped my protein though because of the intense workouts. Yes, it is higher fat, moderate protein and low carb. My numbers are about 60-65% fat, 25-30% protein and 10-15% carb. It is nice because I am eating more carbs then when on Atkins. Anywhere between 30-50 depending on my cals for the day.

I am really loving my workouts. I have worked out for 6-7 weeks, 5 days a week. I really feel so much better even when the scale isn't behaving. I think ropes course is a great workout. So yes, that counts!!

Garden, I would love to have a day like that, but I am loving my kids while they are little. They just keep me so busy. I can't even imagine 17 month old twins!! If the boy we adopt is the same age as our son, I will have my hands full!

Julie...I'm glad to hear those bday calories didn't count!

bdladie....WW....now that's different! I know I lose and am not hungry all of the time on Atkins but I so want to add oatmeal and greek yogurt and brown rice and beans! I know I'd have to watch the calories more carefully than I do if I did that.

That kind of sounds like South Beach that I'm dreaming of, doesn't it. I know without a doubt that I can't do "whole grain wheat". I think I might have an issue with wheat. I bloat and itch every time I try to eat it.

What I've got to do is start exercising!!!! I just can't seem to get it back in my routine and I know I would feel so much better if I did. You all do great!

My goals for this challenge:
1. "just do something" everyday exercise (sound familar Stacey?)
2. Cut my calories some more
3. Eat more green healthy vegetables (I get stuck in the meat and cheese mode and that's just not good for me, I know!)

There it is in writing...as Julie said....so maybe that will help me stick to it!

Ok, as I said I do a modified weight watchers they give you 26 points a day plus 49 to spread over the week. I can't eat that much and lose a single pound. I have insulin resistance and take Meformin 2500mg a day top dose you can take it is so bad. So modified means I do eat 2 fruits a day and maybe 1 slice of a diet bread I don't do that every day though. Normally 3 proteins a day 2 vegetables and 2 fruits. Lots of water of course. I can't snack at all and have to stick close to 1000 calories.

Most days I am not hungry but some I could eat everything in site.

Today was a luncheon at work potlock, I carried my own chicken and brussel sprouts. No cheats and I am hoping to be paid for that with a great number on the scale in the morning.

Good Morning ! Weight this am is 160.6 ! I've not seen that number in years-I'm so excited because I did not expect to see this weight until March !
Now if I could keep the numbers going down !

Stacey - enjoy your little ones - They grow so fast ! And you are adopting ! That's wonderful! I am certainly blessed to be able to care for the twins and watch them grow and learn! My 2 kids went to daycare while I worked. I really enjoy the twins although they keep me very busy !

Good Morning everyone and Happy FRIDAY!

Think I'm coming down with the flu, it has been going around our schools and my office like crazy. Not the way i want to start my weekened..

Anyway, just weighted and I'm down to 150! Very happy with that!
