I guess if I haven't gotten any posts from some of our members, I'll hide them on the next chart post so it won't be so long with empty rows....

I like WII Fit to record my weight but not so good for exercise, it can be kind of boring sometimes. I want to buy Zumba for WII, it might be good.

My weight in was 210, so I am down 2lbs! Yay!!!

Congrats on all the pounds gone.

My pj party was a blast and we all had a great time. My weight loss was noticed and I think two of my friends are starting Atkins.

Tati I had the wii fit and didn't find it very inspiring. But my son bought me the xbox connect. I bought the biggest loser game and did their fitness evaluation complete with a whole body scan. Very scary

After doing that I realized I was in deep trouble and had really let myself go.

That day I stopped smoking and started a diet of low calorie low fat. I weighed 193. After a week of feeling miserable and hungry I started Atkins at 190. I now weigh 174 and it's only been a month.

I use connect 4 times a week but I'm limited right now because my arm is in a sling, I'm
following the plan with no issues. I feel great and have no cravings.

I love the connect and Atkins

Have a great weekend. Karen.

I would love to come back and join if it's okay

My starting weight is 255 - I have been on plan for about a week now, and my mindset is determined to lose this weight - I want to go to New York this year and definitely need to lose weight so I can enjoy the trip; I also want to look great for spring/summer, buy me some outfits that are smart, sassy and cute!!

I'm bacccckkkk!!! Boy was I glad when I found this challenge. I am still 199 pounds and have been off plan since the first of December. Now I am ready to shed some more weight. My new goal is 180 pounds.

Sorry I missed your message Tasha, I haven't logged on since December.

Good morning everyone! It is a bright sunshiny day here in Southeast Missouri, even if a little chilly! Really heavy frost this morning, but I'll take that any day over ice!!

Welcome back Inthelight and Kiki!!!! Glad to see you back!

I will update the chart for this Friday's weigh in!!

Today:

Have no idea what I weighed this morning, probably 218.5.
Today is my day 1!

B: 2 eggs
L: salad, crystal lite peach tea
D: hamburger patty, cucumber/ranch dressing

I need ideas for quick breakfasts and lunches that I can bring with me. Getting real tired of salads. For those of you that are doing induction, any ideas that will help me? I think I've done this off and on for so long, I've forgotten how to get creative with this.

Karen- I never try the connect, might stop at best buy to try it. So 20lbs in a months?!?! That's great! What's your secret?

Tash- I always bring tuna or egg salad to work, is easy to make, quick and require no heating, but like you said it can get a little boring sometimes.
Does anybody eat the atkins bar? I bought some last saturday and they are really satisficing, not the best taste but it's help when you are carving something sweet.
I got into a stupid fight with my husband last nigth and was so mad that I ate some rice at dinner at my mom's, I know that was so silly!

I have tried the Atkins bars, my fav is the peanut butter. BUT. I don't typically use them in the plan because they are 'franken foods' to me. Same as the shakes, etc. When I am on plan, I want real food, not something that created and packaged.

I always forget about egg salad, LOVE it and is so easy!!! And just thought about deviled eggs too, love those too! those are a little harder to transport, but would make good snacks at home!

Woke up this morning and the sick has caught up with me finally. not going to deter me, but i really want some chicken soup

I didn't weigh this morning, but clothes are getting loose, little by little...

Tasha- I typically stick to induction also and it just helps to have little things prepared ahead of time. I'll cook up a few packs of bacon so i have a few baggies in the fridge, also i love the jimmy dean turkey sausage patties. they take 30 seconds to heat up in the microwave and then i eat them in the car on the way to work (while also doing my make up... i'm one of THOSE types...) instead of making up hamburger patties, i make meatballs, smaller, easier for a quick snack instead of committing to eating the whole thing. Nothing fancy just meat and ranch dressing powder, or meat and onion soup mix powder. Tuna is nice and easy, also- pickles! love 'em!

Also, i enjoy something of a stroganoff- brown hamburger, add onion soup mix with a can of beef broth to meat let it simmer, then add some cream cheese to thicken, maybe a dollop of sour cream. stir up and let reduce and simmer a bit. it'll thicken over night so good to leave it a little thin. so yummy. shared this with my mom and she always has tiny bowls with little portions waiting in her fridge

Thanks for the welcome, glad to be back! I am so on target and on plan; family dropped by for the SuperBowl, it wasn't preplanned, but I knew what I was fixing, and so ate meat loaf, green beans and cauliflower, and did not touch the hot rolls or the mashed potatoes, so proud of myself for that! I'm definitely in ketosis, not very hungry at all, and I'm luving it! My menu for today:

B: 2 fried sausage patties, 2 scrambled eggs, small container of LC yogurt
L: 1/2 LC wrap pepperoni pizza
S: Atkins chocolate shake (if needed)
D: leftover meatloaf, green beans and cauliflower

Drinking water all day - looking foward to looking sexy come summertime, yes!!

Well after a bad day yesterday I had a good day and stuck with it 100%. I just want to see a loss by Friday weigh in.

Today's Menu

Breakfast: lowfat cottage cheese blueberries
Lunch: 4oz chicken and cauliflower
Snack: Apple
Dinner: lowfat tomato soup, 1/2 grilled cheese
Snack: orange

My total points was around 20. I like to stick lower but today was just one of those days where I was very hungry.

Tati- Get the Zumba 2 you will love it. I do that a few days a week when I can't get to the gym.

Good morning all. Glad to hear everyone had a great weekend. I stayed on plan and even made chicken wings and pizza for the game

The connect is really amazing. I've never played video games so this for me was really venturing into something new. I thought it would be like PAC man. WRONG. The program senses you via face and body recognition and you either speak your commands or wave your hands- like you use an iPhone or iPad. Very cool. The BL program that I use is chockful of information and tracking.

It performs a full body scan taking all your measurements and when you are working out your body is on the screen. That way it can tell you via bob or Gillian what you are doing right or wrong, speed it up, ask if you need a drink or rest etc. I'm looking forward to the day when I step in front of it and it doesn't recognize me!

Until my shoulder heals I'm not able to do everything but I will soon

Tati no secret. I stayed on Atkins 72 induction for the first two weeks and I'm still on it just not at 0 carbs but under 20 a day. I don't eat anything that I haven't checked the label. It surprised me to find out how the same product varies. For example bacon. The kind I buy has 0 carbs vs other brands that can have 5 per 3 slices or shredded mozzarella cheese mine has 0 but others can have 3 per serving. The same with store bought rotisserie chicken. So if I haven't read the label I don't eat it. Drinking water that new for me but now I drink at least 80 ozs a day. While I love crystal lite I don't drink it very much as it does have carbs. I try to get most of my carbs from veggies

Well I hope everyone has a great day. Karen

Karen, kudos to you for resisting the pizza!! For my Sunday/Superbowl dinner, I resisted the mashed potatoes and hot rolls!

Good morning, came by to give my menu for today and see how everyone was doing!

B: cottage cheese with a bit of Splenda sprinkled on it
L: big slice of meatloaf w/cheese, di'jon mustard in 1/2 LC wrap, 1/2 cup green beans
S: Atkins chocolate shake (if needed)
D: 2 scrambled eggs, 2 slices of fried ham, small serving of LC yogurt

Also lots of water; have a great day, TTYL!

Morning everyone!

Busy day today. Work, then had two appointments at 4:30, so am leaving work about 45 minutes early so I can make both of them. Chiropractor first....does anyone know how to stop going every single frickin week? I am doing ok, yeah, it feels good to have my back popped and have the 'electric fingers' do it's magic on my lower back, but it isn't necessary anymore, I just don't know how to stop the appointments I'm such a chicken.

Then....going to get my hair colored and cut. Arguing with myself over how much to have cut off. I have been growing it out for the last two to three years, but is very long now, down almost to my waist. Can't decide ??

THEN....dd and dgd are coming over this evening, so get to play with dgd Hope she is in a good mood and has taken a nap today...she is so much fun, but not so much when she hasn't had a nap!

Today, for food, not sure what I'm going to do. They aren't having the typical salad bar in the cafeteria today, is a free meal and they are having chicken and dumplings, which of course, I can't have.....not sure what to do. All they have other than that is chips, cookies and crackers...so.... I only get 30 minutes, so don't really have time to leave, so I'm stumped. Wish I had remembered today was a free meal, I would have brought something from home.

Everyone have a good day!

For those of you doing Atkins.....a little food for thought

Q: My doctor told me I shouldn’t do Atkins because it contains more saturated fat than is currently recommended. What is the real scoop?

A: Within the context of a low-carb diet, research has shown that saturated fat is not harmful. In one study, researchers explored what happens to saturated fat levels in subjects who were placed on the Atkins Diet. The Atkins subjects consumed three times the levels of saturated fat, as did other subjects consuming a low-fat diet. Both diets contained the same number of calories, meaning that all the subjects were losing weight. After 12 weeks, the Atkins group subjects showed consistently greater reductions in the percentage of saturated fat in their blood. Yes, those who ate more saturated fat had less in their blood stream than those who ate less saturated fat.

In a second study, the subjects were weight-stable men who habitually consumed a typical American diet. The men followed a low-carb diet akin to the Atkins Lifetime Maintenance Phase, which contained more saturated fat than did their regular diet. All foods were prepared and provided to the subjects during each feeding period. Enough food was provided to maintain their weight. After six weeks on the diet, despite consuming more saturated fat, the men showed a significant reduction in their blood levels of saturated fat. They also improved their triglyceride and HDL cholesterol levels, LDL particle size and insulin level.

On Atkins, you consume a balance of mono and polyunsaturated and saturated fats. The key to eating delicious fats while improving your health is to keep carb intake low. Carbs are the metabolic bullies that stand in the way of fat burning. The very essence of the Atkins approach is to switch your metabolism over to using predominately fat for fuel. So it is much more important to concentrate on the amount and types of carbs you consume to allow your body to burn fat.

Hope everyone is doing well! My mother came through her surgery yesterday with flying colors....doc said everything went fine. She should get to go home today. Sure wish I lived closer...

Today's menu:

B: If I have time in the next 15 minutes before they close, eggs and bacon
L: salad with ranch dressing
D: hamburger scramble and green beans
Snack: mozz cheese stick and boiled egg

Everyone have a great day! TWO more days until weigh in!! Don't think I've done terrific this week since I have had a hard time sticking to induction, but I will settle at this point for a pound or two. I read something last night that has stuck with me.

"If it is important to you, you will find a way. If it isn't, you will find an excuse."
