OK I am thinking here, I needed math help, at our heaviest our pack weighed 10,267 pounds= over 5 tons!!!!!!

We are now down to 8794 pounds, a little over 4 tons!!!!

We have lost a total of 14.34% of our body fat!!!

These are good numbers to watch go down!!! Glad I have a hubby that can do math, LOL

He---the skinny one, said damn man, the average house floor is rated for 40 pounds per square foot, if we were in a room, smaller than 16'x16' the floor could fail! So the badgers need to meet at the big house!

Engineers are handy!LOL

Amber I haven't done yoga since I was a kid. My mom used to take me to class with her sometimes. My BFF is a yoga addict though. I was chasing the girls yesterday. Made me realise how much easier it is to run without 50lbs flopping all over. I don't notice being smaller in my day to day life but being able to just up and up run was liberating.

Eating carne asada in a bowl for dinner. Made homemade guacamole and sprinkled lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese and a little dollop of sour cream. Yum!

I can't wait to see how everyone is doing at weigh in. It is an impressive amount of weight we have lost so far altogether. I think it really brings to light the importance of having a group like this to share with. Goodness knows each day is both challenging and rewarding and being able to read about others going through the same thing is so helpful. You should see the junkfood buffet on the counter in my kitchen I have staring at me everytime I walk into the kitchen though. I am so used to ignoring it that is probably what saved me from lollypop mom yesterday!

WOW! Those number are impressive. Sounds like your yoga class was awesome. I need to find a way to relax from all the craziness on my job would you recommend it to a novice such as myself. I've been hearing about Bikram yoga, I think that is the name of it (the yoga taken in a hot environment), have you ever taken that yoga. I have to find an outlet since I've given up Don Julio and Ciroc now that I am back on plan.

It's great to see so many people posting and supporting each other. I really needed to check in this evening. I work looong days and today I just feel crappy and tired and frustrated. I am eating on plan, and in the past always had a good "bloat loss" the first week. I am still same after day 4 so am a little down but I WILL stick to it. I'm off to fix a later dinner of chicken meatballs with just a bit of marinara and cheese, but I'm really ready to go to bed. Keep it up HBs!! Lori

Hi all!! I am going to do a cut and paste from another thread. I wanted to check in so that you don't think that I am dropping out------yet.

My day got away from me and while waiting at one High School for school to let out so that I could head in and find a seat for his swim meet I ended up running my car battery down!! Guess Susan Boyle CD, my cell phone charger and headlights were too much for my van's battery! Got in a bit of a walk and used some muscles helping to push the car out of the parking spot to hook jumper cables up. Fortunately had nice helpers! Even did some sprinting LOL A friend and I were exiting to go carry in bottled waters and the track team was running at us on the indoor track. We had to let them pass and then sprint to the end stairwell before they got to that section. The coaches and students got a kick out of that!

DS did really well today dropping more time on the 50 and the 100 freestyle. He lost two full seconds on the 100! So happy for him. He is down to 1:00 minute on the 100 free and his goal for this year is to be under a minute. He also wanted to make a State Qualifying time. He may get under one minute but not sure about the State time. Then he was a part of two relays. He swam the final lap in one and brought them into first place in their heat. He also got first place in the 100 individual freestyle in his heat. His final relay he learned he would be swimming 30 seconds before the race began LOL He thought he was done for the night and they decided to use him since he had been swimming well all night. He was really excited and happy.

I am happy to report that I have managed to lose 5 lbs since weigh in on Monday! If only the rest would go away as quickly! Sigh. Thanks for compiling the numbers on us Amber--or thank Tony for us, whatever!! LOL

I will try to read back through posts tomorrow. I need to head to bed. I am quite tired. Have a good night everyone. Hope we all lose some weight tonight!! I am hoping dreaming of 30 Day Shred will do the trick! JK!!!!

Siggie, could you tell me a little about what BodyPump is? They offer it at my gym and I've wanted to sign up, but I was curious what sort of exercise program it is.

Straight from the site: "BODYPUMP™, the original LES MILLS™ barbell class, will sculpt, tone and strengthen your entire body, fast!

Great bodies aren’t born, they are transformed, using the proven BODYPUMP™ formula: THE REP EFFECT™ a breakthrough in resistance workout training. Focusing on low weight loads and high repetition movements, you’ll burn fat, gain strength and quickly produce lean body muscle conditioning.

Often referred to as ‘Pump’ by those who love it, BODYPUMP™ is one of the world’s fastest ways to get in shape as it challenges all of your major muscle groups while you squat, press, lift and curl.

The cutting-edge BODYPUMP™ choreography, and chart-topping music is refreshed every three months, so with your choice of weight and highly-trained instructors you can get the group effect and the results you’ve been looking for!"

I can't say enough good things about yoga, last night I was so sore from Wed workout, and like when you start I find I cant stretch that far, but after an hour I can put my freaking forehead on the floor in front of me, it loosens and stretches all your muscles, she plays like you know that relaxing music and says what to do so I keep my eyes closed and I just focus on feeling my body do what I am telling it. She always says clear all thoughts from your mind, and listen to your body! It is so true how you can push yourself further when you focus! Its like benching weight, I think I am getting so done but if you breathe and focus you can push through it!

Funny you mention Bikram Yoga, there was an article in our local paper about a studio that opened in town, I am so going! In fact last night we had like 12 people including 2 men, usually there is like 3 of us there. It is across town $15 for a session or $40 for 1 month unlimited, I hope the paper is still at work, I want to call, I would love it on a Sunday night to relax before the work week start again.

THe hot yoga is a series of 26 poses that you work through, can you do all of them, probably not but you do as much as you can, the heat helps loosen everything
Here is an article for you
Bikram Yoga 26 Postures

I so wish we had Body Pump, My sister is 100 pounds overweight they joined a gym, she is not dieting but in 6 months she lost 30 pounds and 15 inches she loves that Body Pump, it is $22 for me to go and check it out, which seems crazy! My sister refuses to diet, she drinks sugary juice and ice tea all day I said if you just gave up the drinks you would lose, but I am glad she is exercising that is a huge start and she is feeling proud!

Beebug- agreed that the support is awesome!!! I have to clear the counters, LOL I tell the boys to hide their stuff!!!

KCMama- you are not going anywhere!! Yeah for son and his swimming!!!!

LoriM- keep at it hun, you are flirting with getting under 200 that is a stickler but consistency will win, I am in the same boat, the bloat is coming off this week from poor eating last week, will it move next week? Dont know but I do know consistency is the key!

I am 204.4 this morning, I am shocked, well I guess I shouldnt be, I am finally keeping my trap shut! I am satisfied with my eating, and my workouts have been great I feel good! As James Brown would say, LOL

Have a great Fri, end this first week on a high note, have a good weekend, no cheating, and we are going to see some impressive numbers on MOnday I cant wait to see all those cells filled in with big losses!

Happy Friday morning Honey Badgers! Sorry I don't have time to read all the posts this morning. I'm headed to work but I want to let you all know that I'm thinking about you.

Maybe I will check into getting a yoga dvd to do on the days I don't go to the gym.

Lets kick some butt today!

Hey all,

So on the ride in to work this morning, I decided my new mantra will be:
"B-A-Honey Badgers DONT CHEAT"!!!

I had my first no-cheat day yesterday in weeks, and this morning the scale showed my good effort as I pare away the holiday bloat and emotional roller coaster of losing my dog and gaining two new ones.... It felt good to get through the day and beat the Cheat Monster!!! One day at a time, folks!! (Seth, Meg, you know what I'm talkin' about).

Thirty min on home treadmill last night while DH cooked baked salmon, sauteed cabbage and steamed broccoli.

Amber, thanks for the large math that your DH did. Impressive numbers, can't wait to see how we all do as we progress. You know my hubby is an engineer too. Joke: Did you hear about the constipated engineer? He worked it out with a pencil.

Onward everyone, let's be mindful today with every mouthful!!
Nancy

Happy Friday fellow honey badgers!

Keep it up everyone, I bet we've already lost our combined 100lbs. This weekend will be a bit of a test for those of us who struggle with staying on plan on weekends. I have two birthday parties to attend and cake is a HUGE weakness. Let's get through the whole weekend cheat free! If we can wrestle cobras, surely we can resist a few carb-laden foods.

In Nancy's words "BAHB don't cheat!"

Have a great weekend everyone!

We are going out to dinner tonight - and yay, they have a salad bar only section
It is a all you can eat "meat" restaraunt, but when I eat things that have are already cooked most of the time there is a lot of salt in the process....gives me a major sweet tooth. So I will stay close to the salad bar and nibble some chicken off of DH tonight. It's a place called Texas De Brazil.

Still this same as yesterday no cheats!

My plan is fluid...Let's just say. But I am still on plan!
So for breakfast I had a low carb shake
I have 2 string cheese for a snack.
Going out for lunch with co-workers...Sushi. I will have Sashimi and soup. NO RICE!!
Still planning to pick up a rotisserie chicken for dinner.
I feel good about having a 100% on plan day.
Now for my exciting new news..
I signed up for 10 "semi-private" personal training sessions at a local fitness studio. I got an email about a groupon, so I got the sessions for $50! That is $5 each, so a great deal. I am nervous. I never worked out with a trainer before. I am calling in a bit to set up my first appointment. Semi-private means they work with 2 or 3 people at a time. I figure I will get my fitness routine jump started and maybe even make a new fitness minded friend or 2.

Oh man look at the honey badger party, I need to log on I cant keep up!!!

Meg- so proud of you with the training you are going to love it, and I think it is a very good idea to give you a plan and learn proper form, BIG GOLD STAR!!! Dont sweat heavey cream or half and half, man I drink and did drink a ton, I get the brevia latte with half and half that is my treat when I am near a Starbucks- all that foamy goodness!

Nikki/Portia/Janet- pop ins are great it means you are determined and thinking of the fellow badgers!!!!!

Nancy- BAHB dont cheat- you got it!!!!! You had a lot of emotional stress with your dog dying and the trip, now you are back on attack, BAHB dont cheat, tell hubby you want that BA HB shirt!!! Yes i know he is an engineer, we were talking on ANgela's thread about how many people are married to engineers, I said man thank God time #3, I picked one, it gives me hope it will last, LOL Have a good one hun!!!

Sara- you are due some VWL, you and me both!!!!

Mama- I know weekends are my downfall, like this one we dont have any kids, normally we would be going out, partying like rock stars, drinking bloody marys, LOL Well Tony doesnt know it but I am dragging him to hot yoga on Sunday, LOL Wait til I tell him he is getting up early not eating and going into a 110 degree room, LOL He is going to kill me! He will probably not go when I was talking to him about it, he seemed very uninterested, his knees are so bad he cant do a lot of stuff so I said I thought maybe it would help him!

Weekend attack plans- decline any social/family invites you can, that is what I am doing, being a hermit, LOL Buy an exciting thing you like, like splurge on a filet or seafood, something that makes you excited and cook it fancy and plate it extra fancy then have the DH or SO serve you. I am going to focus on being productive, for one to keep spacing my smokes, and two so I just dont think about food!

I started the Chantix yeah!!!

Big Blue- Brazillian Steak houses are yummy, they do tend to be salty but the meat is soooo good, I love them!

Ang- HI!!!!!

Siggie- You are a work out machine my kind of girl, I wish we lived closer I would so love a buddy as crazy assed as me to work out with and push each other! I have morning spinning tomorrow, I love that Sat class, tonight I need to run, so it is suppose to warm up, so I am going to bundle up and do it outside, I love running around the lake it just calms me!

Laura- You will be good this weekend, you are a honey badger, and what do honey badgers do?

They don't cheat!!!!

Texas- where are you hun, how is the no smoking going, you feeling better, day 3 is always bad for me, I am thinking of you, I am full of hope and promise here I am praying this CHantix works!

Meg - that sounds aweseome! what a great deal too.

Weight Today: 209 lbs
No Smoking Day 4; $24 Saved

Well, I am ready to see something lower than 209 on the scale. Maybe tomorrow will be the day. I have to weigh in Monday for my company's Biggest Loser competition (and here of course!).

I am trying a new technique with my eating pattern. I'm going to do it today and over the weekend and see if it is beneficial. Normally, I usually skip breakfast and just have coffee, I eat a lighter lunch, and I eat a normal dinner.

So for today and the next 2 days, I will eat a big breakfast (basically stuffing myself), no lunch, and a light dinner. I will be eating the same net amount of food during 24 hours just changing the time I eat it.

I will report how this works for me if anyone is interested on Monday.

Today's Food Plan:
B- 2 eggs fried in bacon fat, bacon, 3 hot dogs, cheese, mustard, franks hot sauce, pickle relish, coffee, water
L- water
D- 2 scrambled eggs, LC tortilla, cheese, franks hot sauce
Lots of water and vitamin

Amber - I'm doing great with no smoking. The cravings have almost diminished totally!! I can't wait until your Chantix comes too!

This weekend I'm going to clean out my garage (where I usually smoked when at home). No more cig butts laying around, no more ash trays, no more empty cig packs. I'm going to get my exercise in and bust my butt cleaning the entire garage.

My ex was over yesterday for his usual time visiting the kids. After he left, I got a text that said: "I just wanted to tell you that your body is looking good (a** included)".

LOL, I said thanks. At least my changes are noticable.

TM- I am so proud of you!!!! I got the RX I took my first pill this morning, quit date is 1/19 or before if I think I am ready, I am going to have a bonfire with whatever is left over on 1/18, LOL I debated sending to my cousin but I thought why encourage her to keep smoking!
I am so proud of you, I know how hard it is you are doing great! Isn't that the best when the ex's are eating their heart out that you look so good? LOL His loss!!!
That is a great plan to clean the smelly garage, you are going to feel so empowered!

Gotta say, my opinion only, I don't love the eating plan??? I am a big believer in eating regularly to keep your metabolism burning, but I know some people do well with fasting etc, so if you think this will help you then by all means go for it, I am a big believer that breakfast is important though. I never ate either, just coffee and cigs, the breakfast of champions huh? That is one thing I learned to do even if it was just a shake to get your body and metabolism moving after a sleep fast!

I wish you the best, I am so proud of you and you are my inspiration for this, I have been smoking almost as long as you are old, that is why I go ape **** on young kids when I see them smoking, I start yelling at them, my son gets so embarrassed but I think that is how I started we thought we were so cool back then, and then became raging addicts. My son knows I would beat him if he ever smoked and I guess the one good thing to come of it is he hates it, and he so wants me to quit, I really want to make him proud and finally do it!

Amber - Awesome you got your Chantix! It didn't take long at all for cigs to start tasting really gross once I started the Chantix when I took it a few years ago.

I don't take what my Ex says very seriously anymore. He used to tell me awful things about my body, and everything else... even when I got to goal and was thin and really proud of myself. He can eat his heart out all he wants.. he's an ass. LOL.

About my plan: If it doesn't work, doesn't make me feel good, or is too hard for me... trust that I'll stop doing it.

Go BAHBs!!

HI HONEY BADGERS!

Can't stay on long, got company coming, my friend that got me the book Metabolic Miracle in March and that I finally read and got started on in August.
Roasted chicken, faux potatoes, squash and Lemon Meringue pie is on the menu. She is a good friend and we trade LC recipes back and forth. The little pies were so difficult to make and took forever. I sure hope they are edible - they are cute!
Have a great day all!
