After SEINFELD, i am going to bed. the little troll has had a very busy day (and I still have about an hour left). also, i want to check out that cocoanut creamer at Shoprite, or its equivalent. thanks, Vicki for that info. Then it's nighty nite...oh what the heck, let the bedbugs bite-spot reducing, u know. FF

Have to stay late at work today so no gym for me as it will be standing room only by the time I get to go. Oh well, I have a new Callanetics dvd which I have only done twice so it will be a refreshing change.

Good job on the water FF!

Vicki thanks for posting that coconut creamer. I have tried the SO brand of coconut milk (which is delicious by the way) but haven't seen the creamer. I'll look for it the next time I'm in the store.

Tony, I found out yesterday that my brother may be bringing his family for a visit this weekend (children ages 8, 5, and 2). Do you know of any kid-friendly places in Nashville?

tale of the scale: have no idea why, except that maybe i was dehydrated, but i was back up to 220 today - that's 3.4 lbs above yesterday!...doesn't even seem possible, but i guess our bodies do strange things when we have a virus...ate nothing all day today and had some grilled chicken tonight with adry rub on it...a bit salty so i will probably be 230 by tomorrow! :-)

can't wait to see the pics of the pantless clanger - probably be in the same british newspaper that has the topless girls, maybe?...

abi, my wife and i will be in your neck of the woods this weekend...staying with my college roommate and his wife at their home in brattleboro...we haven't done that in many years...looking forward to it...hope the weather cooperates...

hey marilee, CONGRATS kid!...you are rocking the new year!

hey cat, let us know what you come up with the satisfy those cravings - we all need help with that...hope things are good in joisey...

artemis, i wonder what the zoo is like at this time of year - they may have indoor stuff...also, i have never been there, but they have that science center right off the highway...wonder if they have anything that might appeal to kids that young...i'll ask my daughter to see if she knows of anything...

welcome from the EQUATOR....

that is what my office feels like. I got both ACs going, and the window is open...considerably. I did do an add'l litre of h2o last night, and I got another one working right now, along with diet Sierra Mist cranberry splash. quite refreshing. I have a Fresca and FAYGO diet choc soda cooling down in the freezer. I do not expect to finish all the soda during the work day, as there will be coffee as well. I am just covering the bases. Sunday will be cold and clear-a perfect day for a walk in Atlantic City. FF

FF, I haven't used the coconut creamer that Vicki posted although I have seen it at the grocery store. I am trying the goya cream of coconut. I find it by the mexican food.

Artemis, have fun with your brother and family this weekend!

Tony, I haven't seen the long term forecast for the weekend. I know they are saying maybe some snow tonight. Hope you and your wife have a enjoyable and relaxing time in Brattleboro. The only touristy thing I can think of to recommend would be the Grafton Cheese Factory which is just beyond the Retreat. The time we went you could watch them through a window and see them stirring the curds and whey. They also have a nice little shop there. The stone museum in the area called "malfunction junction" at the end of Main Street used to be the railroad station and the back side still is. Inside the museum they still have preserved a ticket booth. Back in the 40's Mom's brother was a ticket master there. Sorry about the scale not cooperating. Mine was up 2 pounds today too. Too much salt yesteray. Lots of water today!!

Clanger, I suspect what did set me off on my sweet binge. It was nothing personal and I will probably tell you down the road. By the way, what do you put in your meatloaf?

Cat, I wish I could help you on the time change. Maybe someone else can jump in? What did you end up making?

Marilee, neat picture of the spagetti squash. Still have never made it. One of these days.

Wishing you all a great day!

i know u did not ask me (re meatloaf)...

but the subject so stimulates me, i will put in my 2 cents worth. I never do it the same way twice. i use cow meat exclusively, and then get creative. I oven it for about 3/4 hr to an hour at 350 F, depending on the size, then i take the cover off and up the heat to about 475 for about 20 min to 30 min. to brown the top, then i tent it in foil for about 30 minutes, and pray to the Gods that i do not devour it all in one evening. Boy am I exhausted this morning! I kept hearing some strange noise last night and couldn't sleep! So it will definitely be a two cups of coffee kind of morning...then I gotta get started on my water. But, I did remember my running shoes so will definitely be hitting the gym.
If my nieces and nephew do get to come this weekend, I won't have to worry about a workout because keeping up with them is equivalent to running a marathon! A coworker told me about some seasonal ice skating rink. I've never done that before but they might enjoy it...could be dangerous!
Regarding the meatloaf, what do you all put as a binder since crackers and breadcrumbs are not LC? I miss my mom's meatloaf!

hi vicki and marilee, try drinking lots of water today and maybe we can drop some of what we've gained by tomorrow...

left early this a.m. and forgot to weigh and now it's too late...i am gonna start drinking a lot of water...

b: skipped

i am making an effort now to do a litre of water...

in the a.m. & the p.m. It is not really difficult, if i REMEMBER to do it. Now, as for the meat loaf: If I was using a stabilizer, i would crack an egg or 2, and/or crushed (pulverized porl rinds). actually i prefer it very dense, and cold the next day. i keep it neutral (spicewise), so i can do each portion differently. If i commit to certain spices, they may clash with whatever I am doing to the meatloaf on a particular day. So, I keep it like me-non-committal, or as non -committal as possible for one who SHOULD be committed!!! Oh, i will know by tomorrow morning if I am COMMITTING to ATLANTIC CITY for Sunday FF

it's all the same really, Tony, to me at any rate.

I decided i am going to bypass Atlantic City this weekend. i will have another shot at it, at the end of winter. What i would really like to do this weekend, apart from the Metopera Broadcast, is get in a few hundred winks, and watch my new Wagner's Ring Cycle DVDs, dividing the 15 hours throughout the 3 day weekend. And then sleep again. That is my basic plan for the weekend. FF

okay, as long as we are on the subject of cheeseburgers and hot dogs...

well..we are now!!! How do y'all take your burgers & doggies??? whether or not i encase them in a low carb pita, or bread, whether the burger has cheese or not, they MUST have tomato, onion, lc ketchup. the aforementioned is DE RIGUER. Mayo and mustard, & pickle slices are optional. For the hot dog, mustard(not the yellow stuff, though) and kraut are also MUSTS. someday, i should like to find a low carb pickle relish. Dr. Brown's diet cream or black cherry are the preferred beveridges to wash the protein down. FF

Good morning my lovely friends! I am so sore this morning...even in muscles that I didn't really work out yesterday. I am in the mood for a diet soda today so I bought one on the way in to work. I don't drink sodas (or other carbonated beverages) on a daily basis because they are hard on my kidneys. But every once in a while I've just gotta have one.
I saw a recipe yesterday for cream cheese cookies. They of course had sugar and flour but it seemed like something I could easily substitute for LC. Might have to try it out soon.

Good morning! So far I've lost 1.4 pounds since Monday!

Y'all are making me want a hamburger and hot dog! I like my hamburgers with catsup, pickles, tomato and onion. Hot dogs - good old yellow mustard and onions.

How is everyone else doing?

kudos on your loss, Gibby.

I am all right now, but really freaky up till about 5 minutes ago. almost every system at work was NOT working. There was no one at tech support. I left a message, but they never return their calls. Miraculously, they did today. Everything is back up, and working fine. I can face the afternoon, knowing that it will be busy, ergo go quickly. I am hoping to resolve the documentation crisis in time to get to Vegas on May 11. I need it. I am burnt out. I have not had a real vacation since 1996. FF

Busy day so far. Got to Mom's before the snow really got started but then had to shovel drive and walk. When I just left my brother was getting ready to do it all over again. Then I had called the Dr. about having a visiting nurse come by occasionally. She arrived at 10:30 and was there for 2 hours. Blood pressure, heart beat. lungs all fine but couldn't get any blood. Poor Mom poked a couple of times. She will be back on Monday. I was glad sister, brother and sister-in-law were all there so they could all ask questions and I didn't have to try to remember a bunch of stuff. She said someone would come next week to see about therapy to get Mom's strength back. Not sure if they are being a little optimistic about that but we'll see.

Am late getting home for my "day off" so will go get some cleaning etc. done and will check back later!

Hope you are all having a great day!

IT IS OFFICIAL!!!

No VEGAS for the TROLL in 2012. AND, for reasons completely unrelated to the passport renewal issue. There is always 2013. it is a long story, which i have no time or energy to discuss at this juncture. I am relieved in a way. Now, I do not have to run around like a chicken without a head, looking for all those documents. I will have plenty of time after i retire. I see some bacon cheeseburgers for tonight's repast with a nice veggie. FF

hi guys, great to see everyone looking so chipper!...

marilee, congrats on the loss, kid...nice work ;-)

abi, sorry they were poking your mom like that - i'm not that easy to get blood out of either!

ff, i wish you were able to go to vegas - you really deserve a vacation, bro!...

artemis, cream cheese cookies sound delicious...like you, i don't drink carbonated beverages either but every once in a while, i feel like having a few sips of a cold diet soda...let me know what you end up doing with the kids this weekend - i'm always looking for ideas...

weighed in at 218.6 today, down 1.4 from yesterday and up 2 lbs. from the day before...go figure!

today, so far:
b: 1/2 banana
l: leftover hot dog
d: ribs slow-cooking right now

i like my burgers and dogs different ways depending on my mood, but these are a couple of my favorite ways:
hot dog, grilled in butter on a roll with chili, cheese, mustard, onion and celery salt
grilled burger (with onion mixed into the ground beef) with jalapeno jack and cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce, a tomato slice and mayo on a bun grilled in butter

omg, now i'm hungry!

FF, sorry about the Vegas trip. This year will fly by and then you will have all the time in the world to do fun stuff! Speaking of burgers and dogs, I like my burgers right now with mayo and onions. Yesterday I had one with just salt and it hit the spot too. In my high carb days I loved hot dogs with buttered and grilled buns with catsup, mustard and onions.

Artemis, does Nashville have any of those indoor water parks with slides, chutes and rafting steams? They look like so much fun.

Tony, did you decide to postpone your trip to Brattleboro until your roommates wife didn't have prior committments? That would be more enjoyable I think.

Scale down one pound today but it is still up 3 from my long term weight. Need to get to the grocery store today and get some good low carb food.

Have a great day everyone!

so glad it is Friday...

I am sleeping in tomorrow. That means i will probably wake up about 5 a.m., BUT I am NOT getting out of bed. And if i DO have to get out of bed, I am getting back in afterwards. Except for doing the laundry after the METOPERA matinee (Bellini's Norma-1970 archive performance with Dame Joan Sutherland in the title role), that is it for responsibilities. As predicted, my audio cassette recorder does not work, ergo I have to run around after work today, and get one at Radio Shack. No rest for the wicked. I hope everyone enjoys the weekend. It is supposed to be bone chilling cold this weekend. FINALLY!!! A good weekend for soup. FF

Something is weird with the coffee at work this morning...the creamer I put in floated instead of mixing in! It has been confirmed that the kiddos are coming so hopefully it will be a great weekend! They've already asked me to make them some chocolate chip cookies...and being the cool aunt that I am, I will do it, but hopefully will not be too tempted to eat them!

Good morning! It's chilly here today - 38 degrees.

Scale is doing it's up and down thing. Still hoping for 2 pounds lost by Monday. The company is providing lunch today as a thank you for our food donations over Christmas. I'm glad I'm on NS because they are having pasta so I can have a little.

Sorry about your trip, ff...I personally believe that all things work out for the best.

Must go - ttyl
