Vicki, I sure hope we don't have to remove any paint. Just the wallpaper scraping is the pits. My sister was still scraping when I left to get my car inspected and my brother was removing sheetrock from around a chimney that was damaged a few years ago before we got a new roof. After 3 hours of scraping I switched to painting the walls and ceiling going down into the basement. Today will do a pantry area off the kitchen.

Artemis, glad you found a fun activity for the kids to do. This is going to be an ongoing challenge for you, to find something equally as fun when they come to visit! You'll have to start looking now!

Tony, I bet you made the day of the songwriters! Can you post some kind of link to any of your songs that have been recorded? We would love to hear them. Wishing you luck getting under 220. I need to get remotived big time! On your daughter's 21st birthday, you could get her roommate to help set up a small surprised birthday party or dinner where you and the family show up at UNH. That would probably be the best present for her.

FF, are you back to work today so you can talk to us again! How was your weekend?

Have a great Tuesday all!

i am back to work today

i was on death row this weekend. i was too sick to go to the doctor. There is some light at the end of the tunnel...Mr. computer returns tonight. I hope all the gremlins are out of it. for a free computer, i sure paid through the lobes for it, over the past year. I DID go to the dr yesterday. why is it the scale never reflects the efforts I put into this? I was 10 lbs heavier than I thought. I am 339.8 with my shoes on. It is better than 372.8. I like to think that in 5 days, at least I will not be the same or worse than when i started. Tony, congrats on your career change. i wish u all the success and profits that one would wish me. Perhaps, some day, u will be able to send me an example of your work. I want to take some time now, before work starts to catch up on posts I missed. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

gibby, i hope them insurance folks re-imburse u properly.

I too, Artemis, would have loved the science center. If I recall correctly, Baltimore had a nice one which i saw when i was last there in 1992. I was the only une*scorted child, but it was lots of fun, and I learned stuff too. We Ferenghi are profiteers, not scientists. what technology we have, we "appropriated" from other races. I am a bit concerned about the continous stomach problems. that is no way to live. Please take care of yourself. Oh, Gibby, I watched the first few minutes of a show(documentary)in which in 1997, several hundred people saw unexplainable lights in the sky, in Phoenix, and took their video cameras out to record them. Have u ever seen them at that time or on another occasion? FF

Wow Tony, that was terrific! I can see why it won the best country song. The words are so true and it had a great melody. Do I sound like I am on American Bandstand " it has a good beat and fun to dance to". Thanks so much for sending me the link.

Hi all. Sorry I've been so self-absorbed lately.

Tony, I love music and would love it if you would PM me the song. Isn't it wonderful to be able to pursue your passion full time?!

ff-I'm know what it's like to be so sick you can't go to the doctor. I hope you are feeling better.

I'm on the mend, but still coughing, wheezing and blowing. Sounds like several dwarves!

Anywho, bad news on the insurance front. The rain didn't cause it so I'm not covered. Signed with a roofer and KA-CHING!!!!! That's all I'm going to say.

Abi, Arte and Vicki I hope you are doing well! I promise I'll post more and be more attentive.

I think we should all resolve to be healthy during Blitz IX do you all agree?

Marilee, that conjestion just keeps hanging on doesn't it. At least you are keeping your sense of humor. Maybe you are "Happy". Sorry about the insurance not covering the roof.

FF, also sorry that your computer is not covered either. How are you feeling today? Comforting to know Mr. Computer is back at home with you.

Well, got to get back to work.

feeling better, thanks!

i should get back into my vitamin regimen. I complain about being depleted. why do i not do something about it? 'cause i am one lazy troll, that is why. Tonight, after i listen to tony's song I am going to watch THE WRATH OF KHAN on my computer with my kicka$$ computer speakers. Getting back to lazy, although I AM hungry, I do not feel like taking the walk to the cafeteria. It seems I have given up exercise for Lent. FF

Did u sing it as well as write it? It does not get more professional than that. I am privileged to know you. FF

Gosh, FF, what the heck is going on with your computer. I sure don't blame you for being mad. Luciano better not charge you any more and he should fix it for free. You could get a brand new lap top for about that price! I don't think Tony was singing his song but I could be wrong. Tony?

Tony, wishing you luck on losing the weight before the Dr. visit on May 1st. It is always good to have an incentive to keep motivated. Wish I had one that would work for me.

My older sister is coming for the day and will spend the night to help on the house. She will pack up alot of books for a book sale up where she lives. I can't believe how many books we have! Everybody had their own collection and we never took them to our own homes. It was like a library. Borrow one and bring back two. lol

Keeping the temperature low at the house to not have to buy more oil. Mom's tank is a little over 1/4 full and we are so close to warm weather. Hate to spend the money so I keep my jacket on until I get to working hard enough to warm up. It actually is not bad working in a cool environment. I would not like to be painting ceilings etc. in the summer heat.

Hope you all have a great Thursday!

i am gonna ask around the office if they know

WHAT SOFTWARE is propelling thir DVDs. It is also tough unloading this cold. 3 times I picked up the phone to leave my boss lady a message that i was not coming in, but woosed out. I am glad i came to work. when i retire, i get paid unused sick days up to 60. I will have about 30. that is about 1.5 month's wages. Not a bad little bonus with which to begin retirement. FF

Ditto!

Should have my head back by the weekend. I'm taking off next week and the landscaping will be done then. Hopefully, it will help perk me up.
I'm starting back on my hhcg on Saturday. I've also decided to start going to OA. They have a meeting in my area on Wednesday evenings. I'm praying that it is a group I can relate to - I'm not big on "groups" so this will be a challenge.

Tony, the description of those bunless burgers is making me hungry! I don't think there are any nuclear protests on Tuesday but with Brattleboro you never know what cause they will be fighting. Are you finally getting to eat at Nicola's?

FF, I was trying to get my laptop to play an instruction DVD last night and I would have to buy microsoft 7 for $119.00 so I said forget it. Hope getting back on the vitamins will build up your stamina again.

Marilee, hope that the combination of the hcg and OA will work well for you. Getting that landscaping done will be so lovely!

Artemis, hope things are going well for you today and that you have a good weekend!

Vicki, enjoy Tony's song!

Have a great Friday all!

well, if my cold abates in time,

Sunday I will see WRATH OF THE TITANS in 3D. No one deserves it more than I. This tight TON is packing quite a lot of wrath about now. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend. Today is PHYSICIANS RECOGNITION DAY (at least in our facility it is.). So here is an epigram by the Roman Poet Martialis (latter part of 1st century-beginning part of 2nd century). the translation is mine. Nuper erat medicus, nunc est vespillo Diaulus/Quod vespillo facit, fecerat et medicus. Recently, Diaulus was a doctor. Now he is an undertaker./ What he does as an undertaker, he had done as a doctor as well!!! I hope these doctors have a sense of humor to go with their malpractice insurance!!! FF

ff, you are a real piece of work!...

i'm trying to talk my kids into seeing the hunger games - i'm the only one who hasn't read the book and they are reluctant to have the movie spoil the book - i raised these people!

abi, i don't think we will make it to nicola's this time...we are working on a business project together and have a planning session to be followed by a meeting with some folks...jamie and i were housemates in college and became like brothers - i'm a couple of years older and like the big brother...

we talk regularly, but have probably averaged seeing each other only once or twice a year since then...every time we do, it is like we saw each other the day before...now that our kids are older, we are seeing each other more and more and it is nice...

i am slow-cooking a dry-rubbed pork butt today and making pulled pork for tonight...i'll let you know how it turns out :-)

just rec'd an e-mail from one of the guys in tech support.

in short, i will have a choice of 2 links which will enable me (or Luciano, if i fail)to get those DVDs to play. I will know tonight. I am also eating beef tonight. i do not know whether steak or burgers. also, a friend of mine will talk me through getting my audio cassette recorder properly connected. I hope someone will undertake the honor of creating the BLITZ IX thread. I forgot all about it, in my current condition. I will end on a positive note believing (or forcing myself to believe)that if I had not instituted these blitzes, i would most certainly be under the hill by now. At least i have 34 lbs less than when i started. FF
