ff-I was sitting down but it's ok. There are a lot of alcoholic beverages I haven't had. I'm not a big drinker - may 5 cocktails a YEAR. Because I know I have an addictive personality and several people in the family are alcoholics, I figured one issue (eating) was enough for me so I stay away from booze.

Artemis, the creamsicle flavored mousse sounds delicious! That would be neat to try the different flavored sugar free jello.

Marilee, hope you and Artemis are all feeling good today - you too Tony.

FF, what meal are you nibbling on for a week? How is your experiment going?

A little short on time right now. Will try to check back in later.

Have a great Tuesday everyone!

great to see everyone posting - sorry i was mia yesterday - ran around all day doing building-related stuff...this whole week will be like that...

artemis, you sound better - hope you feel as good as you sound! :-)

abi, i am really looking forward to spring myself, although it would never cross my mind to visit tulips in a greenhouse...hmmmm... :-)

marilee, sorry for my choice of words - i have had them, just not in a while - we used to have margarita parties in college...not that i remember much about them, other than their name...hope you feel better...

ff, you are a hoot, my friend!...i'm getting my hair cut on thursday, although i only wish i had the problem of hair on top of my head impeding my ideas :-) btw, i'm still surprised that pavarotti makes house calls...

i had a very good day yesterday:
b: 1 hb egg white
l: chicken wings
d: steak tips

got hungry later at night and nailed myself to the sofa until i fell asleep - of course, i feel better for it this morning...i drank more water yesterday than i had in awhile as well...gonna try to do the same today and i'm thinking salmon for dinner...

i'm still not feeling myself, but i'm hoping eating VLC for a few days will get my blood chemistry corrected...i don't feel sick, per se - just a little sluggish and weak at various times, which is not at all like me...no worries...

my bad hip may be contributing in some way as it has been brutally painful lately and i'm realizing i will have to do something drastic, like surgery soon...inflammation is not a good thing and the 4 aspirin i take a day are not helping much anymore...last time, it felt better when i got below 210 and i'm more than 10 lbs. away from that now, so maybe i will shoot for that before the knife, but that is a delay rather than a solution...no one can believe i have gone almost 9 years in pain without getting this done...

hope everyone has a strong day!!!...let's all ROCK march...

there is a new challenge for binge eaters right here in the

CHALLENGE section. I am in it. Last night, i realized that the 1 forkful theory went down with Ralph Kramden's No Cal Pizza scheme. However, i did go to bed early, so limited my consumption to 1 meal, polishing off, sorry to say, some off-plan leftovers (fried chicken and unsweetened applesauce).I also had no bkfst or lunch. Now I am ready to play again. I went to bed at 8 PM, so I won by default, u might say. It is delightfully cold today. I most certainly wanted to stay in bed, but I will not have that luxury for the next 346 days, except for weekends, holidays, and vacation days, of course. FF

Definitely doing better this week than I did last week. Just can't wait for the specialist!

Yesterday was one of those days where I had to go to several meetings and work functions that just happened to be planned on the same day. I successfully dodged blueberry muffins, crumb cake, cornbread, brownies, pecan pie squares, and a build-your-own nacho bar! I am so used to not eating sweets because of my insulin that those things didn't bother me...but the nacho's...that broke my heart a lil...

well...operation DE-BINGE and clean eating begins now!!!

lunch, which which i am almost finished, was a 5 oz can solid white tuna to which i added 2 T mayo and a low carb pita (toufayan- 7 gr net carb, 9 gr fiber). WHAT IS A BINGE? for me it is non-stop eating, whether it incl off-plan food or not (in my case it usually does). I DO know that because i eat fast, by the time I am satisfied I have consumed far too many calories. If i do not get a handle on that 1 behavior, success will be far off, if ever. So wish me luck y'all. Artemis, how do u get it all done? You are amazing. I did not know u were on insulin. I am sure u are aware of how body stress plays a major part with blood glucose, i certainly do. Give yourself enough ARTEMIS TIME. FF

ff, i know you can gain power over binging cuz you already have - 99% of the time...don't forget that!...

artemis, i'm a sucker for nachos too...i love 'em loaded with melted cheese, chili, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, etc...happy you are feeling better, now remember to exercise in moderation - no overdoing it!...sarah told me the weather is beautiful in nashville today - she's hanging in the park with her dog...hope you get to enjoy it...

good day so far:
b; 1 hb egg white
l: 2 oz. cheddar cheese
d: will bake salmon and it looks GOOD!

just finished dinner.

i consumed an ATKINS-ized HAPPY FAMILY & a large order of ribs. Total net carbs today is 14 gr (but probably about 12). Total WW points no more than 36. My daily total (about 25 lbs ago)was 53. It is probably 55 now. I am waiting for Luciano. I will continue drinking. After Mr. L leaves, it is straight to bed. Although, if he can get the dvd to play, i might be tempted to watch one before Mr Sandman claims his prey. FF

i would love NY strip steak...

but I refuse to strip (without re-imbursement that is). Day ONE went well, except for poor Mr computer. Luciano took him away.He was sitting there for about 40 minutes, and could not get the bloody thing to play DVDs. At this juncture, i would sooner expect the computer to play my BVDs. There is a part of me that wishes he has a nasty accident!!!(the computer, not Luciano). Have u ever heard of any computer with a similar problem? Well, that's it for now. FF

ff-you are SO funny! "stripping and nasty accidents" Yowza!

Yes, the first problem I had with my Dell was it stopped playing/scanning discs. The disc drive needed to be replaced. Good luck!

So, here is my question - I had a BIG steak last night - could have probably fed 2 people but I ate it all myself and a mess of broccolli. Why was I hungry? Geesh!!!!

Marilee, I can eat a huge steak too while DH will eat about half of what I eat. I always get to eat his leftovers the next day. I think we evolved to eat red meat and when we get a chance to eat it our body says eat enough to keep you going for afew days. lol

Tony, I would suffer for years with hip or knee pain before having surgery too. Sorry for your pain.

FF, sorry about your computer. We have a fairly new tv that is supposed to play DVD's and have never been able to get it to work. DD is pretty technically savvy and she can't get it to play them either. We could just get a cheap $30.00 dvd player but I am never around to watch any movies at home so no rush on that.

Beautiful day today and it is warming up. High of 65 tomorrow they are saying. Snow should pretty much melt.

Had 1/2 sub filling yesterday and ham salad. Have already had other half of sub filling today. Not sure what else for today.

Hope you all have a great day!

i am sure Luciano will be able to fix it.

I am sure i will be making another withdrawal from the bank. I had the same lunch as yesterday. tonight i get to relax and do nothing. Perhaps i will eat at 7, and be in bed by 9. I have an unsliced low carb loaf here in the fridge. i do not want to take it home to slice (my ronco bread knife), as i am still too vulnerable. I will ask the security guard if i can bring it here. I want clearance. I f i bring it in w/o telling anyone, i could be arrested. On the other hand, I will have to mature sone time. Besides, once I retire, i will have no place to hide the bread. So, if i remember, i SHALL take it home and slice it. Wish me luck. FF

hey guys, i thought i posted a long post this morning, but it's not here!...hmmmm...

artemis, hope you are okay...whatever's on your mind, try not to stress too much about it...somebody told me something they learned from eastern philosophy recently - most of our angst, sadness and frustration comes from our inability to embrace change - and that life is change...i've been thinking a lot about that and i think it is true...hang in there, kid...

ff, you are too funny...do they still make bvd's???...i think they have bigger knives than yours in that hospital!...

abi, can't wait for that 65 degrees tomorrow - hope you enjoy it!...i'm with ya on the steaks...

marilee, that dinner sounded so good!...when we come out there, the steaks are on me :-)

had a good day today...i weighed in at 221.6, which is down 1.8 lbs. from a few days ago...i gotta get below 220 soon and stay there...i think my weight gain has contributed to my feeling sluggish lately...

b: 1 hb egg white
l: salmon
d: steak tips

What's everyone up to today? We know Tony is running around getting his building ready and I am having an afternoon/evening off. I have been busy cleaning and catching up with old friends on the phone and computer.

I have chicken thawing and was going to make the fried chicken tenders with crushed pork rinds. But am feeling lazy and not wanting to make a big mess so will probably just cook them as is. Time will tell.

Spring thaw going on outside. Temp is 60 degrees outside and our drive is half ice and half mud. Tricky going down it to get the mail. The muddy drive brings back memories of playing marbles on the school grounds. We would make the hole in the dirt and it was always wet and kind of muddy. Then smooth out the area around it so marbles would scoot good. There were certain marbles I wouldn't play because I didn't want to lose them. Like the "cat's eyes" .How boring would that be to kids today. lol

Hope you are all having a great Thursday!

hmmmm...abi, looks like we're the only ones in here today...i used to love to play marbles too...lol...

i have found that if adults engage their kids, even with old-fashioned games, the kids enjoy them...maybe they just crave the interaction...but you're right, once they get older and into video games and computers, it gets harder to engage them...that's why we never let our kids access the computers other than for homework until they were older...

good day, so far:
b: salad
l: salmon salad
d: ???

We had alot of rain last night and most of snow is gone today. I ended up getting a headache yesterday and didn't eat any dinner. DH says he will pick up some swordfish steaks for dinner. We haven't had any in years. Will broil with butter and lemon.

Hope you have a great Friday all. Need to run but will check in later.

i regret to say i lost my marbles long long ago.

I also refused to enter the cats eyes into play. The cat used to make such an awful fuss if I did. With my computer in the shop, there will be gaps in the posting. Wow, this the third month of Blitz V111, already. I did not envision on 4/1/10 my current status. However, if i did not take that step on that day, i know what my status would be. So, the secret was to make this a priority. Although I had quite a number of eating disorder episodes, i sprang back. Today is day 4 of my return from the last episode. Yesterday, I consumed a large portion of broccoli sauteed in garlic. that was the only carbs for the day. Let us say 10 grams total (but i think it was 7 or 8). My WW points for the day were 49. My daily limit is 55. I will be out of communication until Monday. If my computer is not out of the shop by Wednesday, then we will be out of contact for 4 days, as i will be off for the Ides of March and the day after, plus the weekend. Yesterday, the weather was summery, but my apartment was cold. Other days it is wintry, but the house is hot. Go figure!!! When i was told it was a pre-war building, it did not occur to me that they meant the PELOPONNESIAN WAR!!! FF

I'll pop my head in too. I am struggling to find anything that I WANT to eat...I am making myself eat at least a little but it just doesn't taste good. Exercise-wise I have been doing mostly Callanetics and walking this week, less intensely to try and get my strength back up.

so glad it is Friday.

Glad u are posting Artemis. Your namesake along with her twin brother Apollo ARE healing Gods. You may wish to keep that in mind. Today is my 4th day of recuperation from the binge cycle. Doing well. I am a bit hungry, but i have quite a lot of liquids to keep my stomach fooled. I have a whole loaf of low carb bread AT HOME unsliced. Ordinarily, that would be too scary to deal with. Then the light bulb went on. Just slice the amount of slices u need for the day. Tonight, I will slice 3 very thin slices (about 1 oz-3 net gr of carbs)(toasted)using my RONCO bread/bagel slicer. Between the slices I shall insert 2 cheeseburgers with tomato, and a little onion with mustard, mayo, and low carb ketchup. On the side, either a salad or a veggie sauted in butter. I have no reduction of appetite as a result of dropping the diet sodas. i am not giving up my FAYGO diet choc soda. I will take 1 or 2 bottles of that with me to the grave. Y'all have a great weekend. FF

no lunch for the troll.

suffered a wardrobe malfunction. no safety pins anywhere. ( i have quite a few at home, of course). i am stuck at my work station until quitting time. I will postpone till Monday any task that requires me to leave my seat. I have plenty of liquids. If i have to relieve myself, well, i pray to the Gods, that will not be necessary. Tonight, i shall consume 4 cheeseburgers instead of the 2 i had originally scheduled. That plus a medley of sauted veggies. FF

i'm betting you can scare up some safety pins in a hospital, bro...send one of your friends on a search :-) i will miss you this weekend and during your ides of march mini-vaca if the computer is still in the shop...btw, i'm proud of you for bouncing back!

artemis, i am sorry you have lost your appetite, but happy you are exercising moderately...maybe try something spicy to wake up your taste buds...maybe don't listen to me :-)

marilee, you can't lose weight EVERY day! :-) keep up the good work though...

vicki, so good to see you whenever you pop your head in...we miss you around here...how's the house situation coming along?...

abi, our snow is gone too, but no rain...it was in the 70s here yesterday and starting on sunday there will be another warming trend...my birthday is on monday - i'll be 53 - i still can't believe i am THAT old!...although i've been feeling it the past few weeks...

weighed in at 221 this morning - down .6 lbs. in the last couple of days and 2.4 lbs. for the week - hope i can keep it up...

today, so far:
b: salmon salad
l: ground been with melted pepperjack cheese and organic hot salsa
d: eggplant lasagna!

1 hour 10 minutes to go.

when i leave, i will put my shirt over my pants. that with my jacket and getting into the car svc car, should get me out of hot water. Unlike Mick Jagger, TIME IS NOT ON MY SIDE (one of the STONES early hits). I am fortunate that I am off 2 days next week. So, the 3 i have left will do me for Mon,Tues, & Wed. I will not be able to get to Carmen (the tailor/alternations lady)until next Thurs a.m., although, perhaps there is slim chance tomorrow. I will try to get out Sunday, just for the sake of being out of the house. I am not yet in the mood for cooking yet. there is a steak that i took out of the freezer last week, and put on the bottom shelf on the fridge. sometimes, it is still frozen, and sometimes it is completely thawed. I must check it tonight. if i have any doubts, out it goes. FF

Tony, as far as the house is concerned, we have had about 7 showings since the listing which has been about 2 weeks now. The realtor said there are two people who will probably be seeing it a second time.

Well, I have sad news today. I'm sorry to say Mom passed away yesterday. My younger sister and I were by her side and it was very peaceful. Please keep her and our family in your prayers. We feel very blessed that even at 91 she was still keeping us all together.
