FF, we love you, bro!!!...have a great one!...

abi, sorry that mom can't go out to breakfast - who knows - maybe when it gets warmer, she'll make a comeback!... if you need a recipe for the crustless quiche, let me know...

artemis, take it easy today - sometimes you can get headaches from not eating...

weighed in at 220 today, which is down 1.2 lbs...my body is acting weird with weight lately, but i'm gonna just keep doing what i am doing...

story: today i had 1/2 banana for breakfast and was out looking at property and got really hungry around 1p.m...i pulled into a burger king and ordered an italian chicken sandwich - i never eat fast food these days - but anyway, when i ordered it, they told me they were running a buy one get one free, so i said sure...

i ate one and was still hungry...i was thinking about eating the second one, when i decided to drink some water and wait 1/2 hour to see how hungry i was then...well, by the time 30-minutes passed, i was nowhere near as hungry, and avoided eating the second sandwich which probably saved me 1000 calories...i brought it home and my son just ate it...

this would have never happened before i got involved in these blitzes 2 years ago (almost)...thanks to everyone for helping me re-shape my behavior...

thanks for the birthday wishes, HEWMONS!!!

it WAS a beautiful day, which means nice and cold. My apartment is cold too. Aint it grand!!! Saw SW Episode 1 in 3D. It gives a new DIMENSION to the expression "in your face".Now THAT' S ENTERTAINMENT!!! I believe I shall be going to the movies more often in 2012. There is a sequel to the remake of Clash of the Titans as well as a new Spiderman sequel (different actor) coming up later this year. Even the animated stuff is incredible to watch. I really will not mind spending the extra couple slips of latinum.. INTENSE, VERY INTENSE!!! FF

great discipline, TONY.

if i really want the bread part of the sandwich, i bring 2 slices of low carb bread with me, or i bring it to work where the low carb loaf is. I am determined to have my cake AND eat it too within the low carb parameters i set for myself. I am making great strides living without diet soda (except u no what) That stuff IS addictive-the colas, at any rate. FF

Happy Valentines Day Blitzers!

: heart::h eart::he art::hea rt:

Still hanging in with the close to 0 carb. Still not ready to weigh as I don't feel that much lighter. Feb. 20th will be two weeks so maybe then? We'll see. Had same as usual yesterday. Ground beef, pot roast ( wonder how long that stuff stays good -lol) some pork rinds and one canned cherry from cherry pie filling. Went to buy DH a card and thought what a waste of money. Made him a cherry pie instead. I get more brownie points for that as it will last all week for him. The pie is totally unhealthy but he eats that way all the time so I don't lecture him.

Tony, maybe Mom will rebound some in the spring. We certainly hope so. It was always so fun to go to the cc and the view was lovely. Good going on the one chicken sandwich. I have learned alot of good hints and coping mechanisms on this site.

FF, those 3D movies are amazing aren't they! Glad your apartment was cool for a change!

Artemis, hope that weird headache did not last long. I hate headaches.

Hey Marilee! How are things going with you?

Have a great Tuesday all! Love you all!

we love you too, abi!...happy valentines day to all!!!

i opened the freezer last night, looking for frozen veggies and discovered that my wife had filled it with an assortment of ice cream treats for valentines day for me and the kids - i mean there had to be 6 or 7 different decadent things like dove chocolate covered ice cream on a stick and double chocolate klondike bars - you get the idea...

i'm not sure if she is trying to kill me...but although i have to admit to thinking about having a taste all night, i DID NOT!...and i hope i make that same choice tonight...this isn't hard enough without bringing that kind of temptation under our noses, is it?...lol...

it feels so good the next morning when you've resisted being naughty, doesn't it?...one meal at a time, kids!

Tony, u are in danger of becoming a saint yourself!!!

even when i had low carb ice cream (Breyer's 1/2 gallon size) in my freezer, there was only 1 time that i can remember that it lasted longer than 1 or 2 days. U are remarkable!!!. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO ALL...and if y'all cannot escape it, forgive yourselves in the morning (the candy, i mean)LOVE & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

Happy Singles Awareness Day! I actually forgot it was V-Day until I got to work and saw people carrying flowers and candy. I never really got into it. Even when I am dating someone, I tell them not to buy me anything. Speaking of dating, I really need to get on the ball because everyone I work with is telling me that I have to be married by the end of 2013. I work in an office full of younger women. My boss got married in 2010, the grad student got married in 2011, the tech is engaged to be married by the end of 2012, and since I am the only single woman left, it is apparently my turn or else I'll break their chain! Of course they aren't really serious, but they sure do have fun trying to set me up with every guy that sets foot in our lab!

Headache was gone this morning and I hope it stays that way. I accidentally fell asleep on the couch last night so did not get to start my 30 DS program. Well that's ok. I am feeling good so far today so it will be a good time to start! And so far, I am also downing lots of water too.

Hi everyone!

Way cool!!! Singles Awareness Day. I'm aware I'm single every night when I go to bed

Things are status quo. The scale is moving either way. I haven't been on plan, but I haven't been totally off. Lost of stress lately (I even got my stress zit on my chin - I always get it when I'm stressed).

Tony, all of the ice cream - holy cow, and I do mean HOLY cow!!! I love ice cream and if you resist you are a better person than I am.

today is the 23rd anniversary of being dumped...

by a HEWMON female in her 3rd year of med school. She let me down easy. She told me (and I quote): GO TO HELLth!!! Like my gumba Rodney Dangerfield was always saying, "it ain't easy being me!". I just got off the horn with the office of my councilman re: my transportation issues. Perhaps things will be set right. I shall keep my fingers and diabetic toes crossed. The good news is that I am not hungry, and that i did not touch the low carb bread or pita that was in my fridge. the last 48 hours. if i am really hungry at lunch i have 2 hard boiled (hummingbird sized)eggs. I want to listen to my music. FF

if i had boiled those eggs, they would have peeled themselves.

i would up with eggs that could be measured in angstrom units. However, it was enough. I could always have a SWISS MISS diet hot choc, should the need arise. FF

ff, i am NO SAINT - believe me...i never know when you are serious...did you really get dumped on valentine's day?...

i bought a bunch of candy today for my wife and kids...if i manage to have a small taste and nothing more, i will consider it a victory...right now, my wife is making chocolate covered strawberries...i have not even had a morsel of anything sweet yet...

i am making steamed clams and lobster tonight...

artemis, i loved being single and highly recommend it until you find someone worthy of your love and attention...it's tough being surrounded by newlyweds, but wait a couple of years and they'll all be jealous of you! :-) happy to hear your headache was gone!

hey marilee, congrats on holding steady!...that's a great goal when you are not feeling overly motivated...that motivation will come again...

Sure FF, you can be my LCF Valentine!! Have a LC dinner tonight and pretend it's from me! I, too, am curious as to whether or not you were dumped on V Day.

Just got the best news...my grandma is cancer free as of today! Woo hoo!

Artemis, I am so happy to hear about your grandmother being cancer free! What wonderful news!

Tony, something about chocolate covered strawberries does not sound good to me. Now plain chocolate with a side of strawberry shortcake I could go for. As for what is in your freezer I would have to get a padlock and give the kids the key to hide.

FF, I am eating hard boiled eggs right now but at least they are the large size!

Yesterday I had two bratwursts with brown spicy mustard, two hard boiled eggs, and some pork rinds.

Someone from the church came by with a red rose for Mom and a card made
by one of the kindergarten children at the school. So thoughtful! She made out pretty well besides that. Two lovely bouquets of flowers and a heart shaped box of chocolate. Sure hope everyone eats those up quick!

Have a great day all!

Abi, so glad that your mom had a great day! She's adorable

FF, you are so funny!

Well, got my morning off to a good start. I got up an hour early just so that I could do my 30DS workout before work. Boy that Jillian Michaels does not play! I thought maybe by doing it in the morning, my metabolism will get a boost for the rest of the day. In college the only time I could find to work out was in the morning first thing and I got great results. And, this way, if I have extra energy in the evenings I can do another workout, if not then rest. Also, the other good thing about working out in the morning is that it makes me drink more water. I've already had 1/2 gallon and it's just after 8 am here. Today is supposed to be fasting day but not sure how that will turn out with all the intense exercise this morning. But I haven't caved in yet and don't feel hungry. So if I feel like I need to eat, I'll do it in the evening.

Good morning!

Arte-that is wondeful news!!!! Cancer free - awesome!

Abi, your mom is gorgeous! I miss my mom so much - you are very blessed to still have her in your life.

OMG TONY!!!! Padlock or no, I'd find a way into that freezer for that ice cream. your are a lot stronger than I am!

Well, I had a "come to Jesus meeting" with myself last night and kicked myself in the rear AGAIN! Thanks for your patience with me - I am going to get things right this year. I have all of the tools I need to be a success but I am the Queen of Sabotage.

Anywho - I'm back on plan as of today. Yea!!!!

finally made the free range steaks last night.

made it the same way as i do the shell steaks. Tasted the same, but glad for the lower price. the original plan was to make 1 on 1 day, and the 2nd steak the next day. that did not go according to schedule. I know my steaks would be tastier, if I added salt. But that is a no-no for me, and they ARE extremely delicious as is. Going to SHOPRITE tonight for some critters but also to get more seltzer and diet FAYGO. FF

Hey guys, typing from my phone, so I will keep it brief...

I'm proud of you marilee...I think this is gonna be a great year for u....

Artemis, great job on the morning workout...that will definitely rev your metabolism...

Ff, the steak ain't gonna hurt ya...at least u don't have a wife buying u ice cream...lol

I weighed in today at 219.4, down .6 from Monday so that is good...all I have eaten today is 1/2 banana...not sure what is on the din din agenda...I avoided all ice cream and ate only 2 little solid dark chocolate buttons...a victory as far as I am concerned!...

Hey Everyone,
I've been gone a while but doing really well. I did the HCG diet for 3 weeks and lost about 15 lbs--then went on vacation to Hawaii for 2 weeks and gained about 3-4 back. I kind of expected to though because I was eating so few calories and then went on vacation.

I didn't eat poorly on vacation (was actually quite strict!) but did drink more alchohol than I probably should have. Anyways, I'm working on getting those lbs back down and considering doing another 3 weeks of HCG at some point, but I would rather lose with plain old low carb because the HCG is very strict and hard to follow (500 calories a day--only certain proteins and veggies, etc.)...but it did work.

I'm about 7lbs up from my low weight of last year and feeling optimistic. I will try to check in more regularly--I promise.

Jenny!!!! Great to hear from you. Sounds like you are doing very well. Wonderful that you had two weeks in Hawaii! Keep posting. We really missed you!

Marilee, Artemis and Tony, thanks for the sweet words about Mom. I passed them on to her and it made her happy. Marilee, I do feel blessed to still have Mom here. I miss my Dad tremendously. Sometimes it seems harder as years go on.

Artemis, if I ever start doing any exercise I would have to do it in the morning too. I would just dread it all day long if I had to do it in the evening. lol

Tony, happy you are down .6 from Monday and still in the teens.

FF, I don't know if I could eat steak without salt. You have alot of willpower! I could go for a steak right this minute!

Still have not weighed and it is rather freeing not to be obsessed with the scale. This is only a temporary change in my compulsion to weigh every day. I am still sticking to the almost 0 carb and know I am not gaining. I feel just a little slimmer. Monday will be two weeks since I weighed last and got back to eating mainly meat, eggs and a little cheese. My cravings have really decreased thank goodness. I really have been fighting a battle since Thanksgiving. When I see how much better I feel eating very simple food I don't know why I ever start experimenting with the low carb baking etc.

Hope everyone has a super Thursday!

Tony, just read the top 10 list...very carefully I might add.

What, no pistachio? All the same, none of it is safe in my house. I would most certainly have devoured it all before the night was over. On the subject of salt, growing up (on earth), we never added salt at the table. whatever mother made, that was what we ate... as is. but it was always good...more than good. when we had our dinner or lunch hour, at the employ before the current one, I used to watch the guys put salt and pepper on their food, before they even tasted it. Then one of the guys got a heart attack (he was 58 at the time, in the late 70's). he was also the thinnest. He told me from his hospital bed (the first time i saw him without his rug btw), that if i want a long life, give up the salt. I never cooked with salt from that day on, or added it at the table. In all the years since, I most certainly had my ups and downs (weight wise). I attribute my still being here owing to the salt moderation. Of course, not smoking, drinking, or using illegal drugs helps too. That is why I do not use salt. My friend, has been in a nursing home for many years now, for unrelated reasons. FF

Argh! The electricity kept going on and off last night and messed up my tv and internet. So, I couldn't do my workout this morning...but I let it all reset while I was getting ready for work and it seemed to be working when I left. So, that means I'll have to do it tonight and tomorrow morning back to back. Tough, but it's working. Well, at least I am sore all over...including my armpits! I didn't even know there were muscles in the armpits!?!
I managed to stay below 400 calories yesterday for my down day and today is my up day. I was surprisingly not that hungry this morning but made myself eat a good breakfast. Lunch will probably be light and not sure about dinner. But if I don't get in enough calories today I'll be hungry tomorrow when I have to restrict myself.
