I bought the book "17 Day Diet" for my kindle last night. I've been reading it and I think I want to give it a try for something a little different. I wouldn't start it till Monday and I'd be done with the 1st 17 days before Christmas.

Wow.. I really blew it! I had Chipotle last night (they have brown rice now!), and ate really bad during the day too. I am up to 187 today!!! Thats 5lbs UP this week!!! I know some is water weight, and I expect several lbs to drop right back off, but sheesh! Today is definately the day.. I can tell when I wake up if I am reeeeally truly going to be ON IT. The best thing is I am off today and Monday, so a four day weekend at home will make it easy.. darn those brownies at work! I am going to do a few things around the house, then I am planting myself at the gym and going to do a "Biggest Loser" type workout, lol...

Well... I did AWESOME today! Not only did I go to the gym and do an HOUR on the eliptical, but I got some weights in as well. I am feeling it tonight for sure! Eating was perfect.. didnt cheat with so much as a crumb. Just from today, I weigh almost 2 lbs less tonight than I did this morning! Gotta say, I reeeeally loved being at the gym.. Ive missed it.

Its going to be in the mid 50s here tomorrow, so Curt and I are going to try to go for a ride - it will be my first December moty ride and almost certainly the last one until Spring. I also have a lot of homework due Sunday, and final exams next week, so I may not be on here too much, but will try to make sure I at least check in once this weekend.

Rachel: What do you eat on that diet?

Beth: Hey, I doubt you are up as many lbs as I am... ugh. This is me yesterday ... Good for us all for getting back to the gym!

Back down to 183, which means after ONE DAY of being really good and working out, I lost 4lbs! (water I know, but I feel better already). Still waiting to hear about the moty ride.. now they are saying a high of 58 in some places, but its still hanging around 52, but gets warmer north of here.. I say we go for it and head north!

Hi Slimmers!

Just got back from taking DD13 to the Christmas parade in town. Home for a little bit then off to shop with my DD17, mom & sister-in-law.

My scale is dead but I'm thinking I am losing a bit. My brand new Silver jeans (my mom bought them for me last weekend ) size 29x32 are so loose that I have to wear a belt now. It's a good problem but these are expensive jeans and I have a feeling I won't be wearing them all winter. I love these jeans so much! So whenever I can wear a 27x32 is when I will be buying a new pair!!!

diane: It's 52* here but no sun so it feels pretty cool. Awesome job being down 4 lbs!!

beth: Great job on your workout!

Scale down to 182.6, so down a little more. Yesterday I didn't go to the gym, but I tried! We did go on a motorcycle ride, and we weren't cold at all! It was great! Then we went to a movie. After that I decided I would go do a quick cardio workout, drove to the gym, but they close at 7 in the winter on Saturday. Oh well. I DID go to the gym this morning, Curt went too! Did 45 mins of cardio (500 cals) so I am happy with that. Plan to do my 8 minute ab workout tonight. It feels good to be "back".. meaning back to healthy eating and exersize.

Rachel: Can't you exchange the jeans for a smaller size? Then again, if it were me and I loved them that much, I would probably want them in two different sizes - I had a top like that.. I bought an XL, then I saw it on clearance, and bought the L size. Depending on my weight I would wear one or the other.

Beth: Hope you are having a good weekend!

Charlene: Where are ya?

diane: I've already worn the jeans so I can't return them. O well! I am still wearing them just with a belt. I am hoping I can buy 2 sizes small by January.

Rachel: Two sizes smaller by Jan would be awesome especially with the holidays.. I am hoping to be in an 8 soon. I can still wear my 10s even though I am up about 10 lbs, but after I get my weight back down to around 172 or less, I should be able to buy some 8s.. they were fitting me before I gained, but some were still tight. I am SO ready to take it to the next level fitness wise..

Morning everyone!

I haven't weighed cuz I know it won't be good and I want to get down some before I hit the scale again. I've been semi good for the last two days (except for the darn chocolate truffles that some guest bought--addicting I say!). Had a massage yesterday, which I needed. I'm pretty sore and need to get an adjustment and more steriod in my knees. Will be heading to gym this afternoon.

beth: Do you go to the gym every day? I need to motivate myself to get on the treadmill every day!!

diane: Not 2 sizes but just 2". The silver jeans are sized like mens jeans.

Had a super busy day! I've stayed on plan since last Monday! I am so excited because I feel like I can do this again.

Just got back from the gym. I didn't want to go by dh encouraged me so I went and am glad I did.

@ Rachel--I go to the gym about 3 times a week--at least that's what I try to do. Haven't been quite so good the last few weeks.

Diane--WTG on getting back to the gym.

Hey hey! Experienced some major family issues and it got me in a funk is why I haven't been here. Nothing new - been going on all my life with my mother, but I think it reached that pivotal - it's time to say enough is enough and focus on my own immediate family here at the house. It's a sad break for my kids, but in all honesty it can't be fixed. Tried for almost 40 years. Doing okay though - like I said - it's old stuff.

Still doing good here. Only down .2 this past week and was SO SURE I was hitting that 20 lb mark, but alas, I think the beer might have done me in. hehehe I celebrated my birthday on Saturday (yesterday was my actual birthday) with friends and, well, even though I ate right, they just kept pushing the beverages in front of me. My husband did surprise me with a brand new Honda CRV! I got the key and we are picking it up today after school! I have driven my van almost 8 years. I am not going to know how to act!

It is in the 30's here and I can hardly stand to be cold anymore, so I did the treadmill yesterday morning - but only 25 minutes, so this morning I pulled out the dreaded P90x Plyo workout. I will not be able to sit down tomorrow, but it did feel amazing to do the workout!

Diane the 50's and motorcycle weather sound real good to me right now. I ran home to throw a pan of soup together for lunch today and I have the extra portable heater going right now to help warm me up. You had quite an up and then back down week! Yay for you for getting back after it!!

Rachel what is the 17 day diet about? I'd be interested to hear the high points. Always up for something new when I hit a plateau.

Beth - don't you feel so good when you have done that workout and are so glad you went!? I kept looking at the 60 minute timer on that workout this morning but it kept whittling away and before I knew it, I was done and was so happy I made it!

Hope everyone is sticking to it. I am hoping to get 25 total by the end of the month! I'm sitting at 19.4 right now.

Hey everyone!

Its cold here (28 this morning, a high in the 50s). Yes I know I am a wimp. I just can't warm up. No gym yesterday or today, but I am going tomorrow and Friday.

Not much else new. Sports Mom--good to see you back.

Rachel and Diane--how's it going?

S_M--I can relate. Hope you're moving soon

I made it to the gym today and had a good workout. Then came home and tried to keep warm. I'm just really chilled lately.

Diane--what's up.

Evening Slimmers!

I am feeling much better today.

I am down 3 lbs since last Monday. The lbs are dropping of very slowly. I was really hoping to be down 5-8 lbs before Christmas.

beth: How's Kona? You are having central Illinois weather! I am a wimp too and I complain about winter ALL.WINTER.LONG!!!

sports: 17 day diet plan is kinda low carb/lower fat. It has 4 cycles so it changes every 17 days.

diane: Hi!

Just an emotional mess today!! DD17 is complaining of hearing loss. A little history on her: She's had 7 ear surgeries including a mastoidectomy (age 7). We were told before her mastoidectomy that she would be deaf by an ENT. Thankfully, our awesome pediatrician took care of us. We asked for a referral to Children's Hospital in St. Louis. He asked if we would 1st see a ENT friend of his then he'd refer us on. His ENT friend was our angel. He did an emergency mastoidectomy on her because of infection from her ear was leading to the brain. She only lost a couple tones of hearing but we knew we could live with that. We always knew there was a chance that it would come back or come to the other ear (she has an ear disease). DD17 broke down last night because she's scared of becoming deaf. It just breaks my heart!!! I am waiting on hearing back from the ENT now.

Oh no!!! I hope everything's ok. I bet you are both so scared. Let us know what the ENT says! Will be thinking of you!

Good Sunday morning! Up and at 'em early - just woke up. I was up late making goodies for my kids' teachers last night, so I thought I'd sleep in, but that didn't happen. I am having my coffee and then I am going to hit the track this morning before church.

Loving my new vehicle! It's been a long 8 years and 182,000 miles in my old van. This CRV rides so well and I feel so safe in it!

Finished up our shopping yesterday. Now to sit back and relax and enjoy the rest of the season!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Oh Rachel--I hope your DD will be fine. It must be very scary. Remember that medicine has changed so much in the last 10-15 years. Hopefully all will be well.

I was hoping to go to the gym today but I just got out of bed and the band is going into the studio today to record and I'm going with them to sit with the recording engineering to learn some things. I'm going to be sound chick for dh's band and have a lot to learn. By the time we get done, the gym will be closed. So I'll go tomorrow I hope, but there is much to do and I'm seeing my doc tomorrow. I won't be able to exercise after that.

Sports_Mom--the CRV are great cars. It always fun to get a new vehicle.

Diane--what's up with you?

Have a good Sunday everyone!

FINALLY passed the 20 pounds lost mark! -22.8 as of this morning! That means I lost almost 3 pounds this week! After several point-somethings in a row, that was a nice surprise!

Ok, the bad news is, I am back up to 186 this morning, the good news is I went out and bought lowcarb food, and I feel good about sticking to it. I had several events this past week which made it difficult to keep my weight down.. the first was the Christmas party for Curt's town where he is mayor.. my first town event as his actual girlfriend - it was at the country club, very nice.. I didnt eat too horrible.. then Saturday was Winterfest in his town also.. I didn't do too bad there either, it was AFTERwards (I had to have a McRib before they go away) lol.. Sunday Curt and I went on a hike! It was cold but sunny, so we warmed up just from hiking, then I had a Christmas party to go to, and unfortunately it was so crowded I pretty much stayed in the kitchen area (where the desert table was) At work yesterday I ate HORRIBLY. I think it is partly due to stress.. but Im hard boiling some eggs and crock-potting some chicken as I speak!

Rachel: I hope your DD is ok.. do you have an update yet?

Beth: That sounds like fun being the "sound chick"

Sports Mom (wait, is your name Charlene? I hope I havent been calling you the wrong name!: Wow, I haven't even STARTED my shopping yet.. Im not a last minute person, I hate shopping late, but have to wait for the funds to do so! I have a LOT of baking to do also.. my traditional cut-out sugar cookies, chocolate chip (burnt ones for Curt - he likes them that way!), Oreo truffles, lemon snowflakes, and probably a few others.. might try some new ones this year.. I just need to NOT eat too many of them. I give most of them away anyway.

Ahhh this feels good to get through the day without so much as one little cheat! I had pumpkin spice coffee, a salad with cherry tomatoes and ranch dressing, a small handfull of peanuts for a snack, swiss cheese for a snack, and the crock pot chicken for dinner. I didnt really have much for ingredients, so I kind of made it up.. put in a can of enchilada sauce and spices. It came out good, but it could use more flavor.

I didn't go to the gym today, but I plan to for sure tomorrow. My goal is at least 3 days a week, but we hiked Sunday, so that counts as 1.

I need to go out and look for a dog bone shaped cookie cutter. Curts dog Harley who has never stolen food off the kitchen counter before, decided he wanted to "taste" the pumpkin bread I made Curt.. well, Curt came home to find just the plastic wrap and aluminum foil on the floor! Harley ate the whole thing! (minus the few slices Curt had). Anyway, I am going to make pumpkin peanut butter dog biscuits for him as a special Christmas treat (Harley, not Curt, lol).. but I need to find a cookie cutter

Sports Mom: I just read your previous post. Sorry to hear about the problems with your mom, but it sounds like you did all you could do. And.. Happy Belated Birtday!!! And.. congrats on the new CRV! I was thinking about getting one of those last year, but ended up getting a Taurus X instead.
