Refusing to face summer 2012 fat and uncomfortable challenge!

I know summer is a long way off. I decided I absolutely refuse to spend summer 2012 fat, uncomfortable and embarrassed to wear comfy cool clothes like I have the last few years. I plan to start induction on 11/25. I'm hoping a few of you will join me on working towards feeling and looking better for summer 2012!

Yeah yeah! 3 lbs gone. 3 lbs closer to not having to sweat this summer in clothes that cover everything up!

I'm in for sure. starting wt 220, been this wt for so long I don't think it's going to be easy. I am going to work my butt off literally. Here's to 2012.

Wow my scale sure bounces all over. I ended my week 1 induction today. I started at 227.4 and went down to 224 a few days ago. 225.5 for today. 2 lbs for 1 week is a tad disappointing but better than none!

Looks like I found the perfect thread. I will be 70 in June and my goal is to weigh 170 or less by my birthday (just for a goal) on the 25th of June. I just started induction and weigh 224 and am walking 3 miles/day.

How does this challenge work?

Hi Ron! There are no rules. Just check in when you want to weigh when you want to and lets cheer each other on! Sounds like you have a great goal to mark a special occasion. I am hoping to be a similar weight of less by mid July. What plan are you doing?

My plan is two weeks of 0-10 carbs a day (my induction) then 0-20 a day with at least 3 miles of walking a day. I want to build up to five miles a day at 3.5 to 4 mph. Right now I'm doing 3-3.4 mph. No rush. It's just redefining my eating style and life style gradually.

Sounds like a great plan! Mine is Atkins but with a very heavy protein breakfast. I am doing body sculpting and lifting instead of cardio.

Even with the Christmas weekend I weighed in at 220! I actually only want to loose about 2 lbs/week. This is a good start.

I want to join! My husband and I are taking our kids to Disney this summer and I refuse to be too self conscious about my weight to be in the pics. Over the holidays, I realized I am in very few pics with my kids. Looking at the photos, you would think they didnt have a mom. It made me sad and gave me motivation.

I am weighing in at a hefty 217.4 and I plan to start induction on January 2.

We are going to Disney the last week of June and I hope to be 170 or less by then. My ultimate weight loss goal is 140.

Great FitnessJunkie! Nice to have you! I understand about the pics. I tend to use my kids as shields in pics ( not that it helps!). Looks like 3 of us have pretty close start weight and goals.

I'm having a milestone bday this year & I want to have a non-fatty-girl summer, as well! I've been dieting like a crazy person all year, but starting Atkins with my man. It's the only thing I haven't tried, so I'm hoping for some real results.

This looks like a great challenge to start, and would love to join! I am about to go out of town and will officially start a low-carb plan on Jan 3 when I return - I also like to look long-term - it takes time to lose weight, and I want to be much smaller by summertime too!

Hey you guys, I'm with you! I want to be in a lot better place by this summer! I'm doing short term goals so they don't sound so HARD to me, and it's been working out well. But I definitely want to keep the downward line going on my weight chart and to be looking great by summertime!

I'm officially on Induction as of today. This is my 1st go-round with Atkins. My parents have been doing it for 10 years & my bf was in OWL when we met. Supposedly he's going to attack this with me, but I'm not banking on him. haha 2012 is my year of change! I'm ready...but a little apprehensive, too. I've been a vegetarian/vegan forever. But I'm hoping the drastic change will jump my body out of this 3 year plateau/maintenance. I'll probably be here (trying not to whine haha) a lot.

Ok so my start weight yesterday was 271.4 ;-( Currently my goal by March is to be down 20lbs. I know BIG goal but I just have to suck it up and do it! I found a new snack that is LC friendly. It's porkrinds sprinkled w/ butter/sweet n low/ cinnamon....OMG YUM! I'll be back on later this evening/tomorrow AM to try to post some of my menus. Good luck everyone!

Today was my first day. I did just fine. However, I had to take some cough medicine and i know it was full of sugar. So i am assuming my good day was in vein. i am also worried about my short vacation on the 12th of this month through the sixteenth. i know i will drink.. i can control the food.....which means i will do this induction for 8 days and then 4 days will be tainted, and it will take at least 4 days to get back on track. i dont want to be a chunk anymore.
