HO HO HO Let's Make Goal Challenge

Hello everyone. Some of my last challenge buddies and I are starting a new challenge tomorrow. Mondays are always great to start a committment to an eating plan right? It will run from Oct.31 to January 1st. It is for anyone and everyone. We all have either mini goals or maxi goals for this time frame. But we know with the holidays coming up we will need all the support we can get. Even if it is just to maintain until all the tempting goodies are gone. Is anyone else intersted in starting with us tomorrow?

Yeah--I am here--thanks Michelle for starting the challenge--love the name and I certainly hope I do better with this one than the last one--but even if I stay the same--I feel like I have accomplished something! much better than gaining the 7lbs that is normally gained over the holidays they say--I can gain much more than that--easily!! in just a couple of days it seems! so I am hoping to do better than maintain--but will not stress if I dont--again--thanks for starting the challenge--hope we have some additional people to join in--

HO HO HO

I believe this is a good place for me after reading in your last challenge. I like challenges but people usuall fall off or don't post and I need the support. I am in a bit of a stall/gain in my journey as I have done the 2 week induction and lost 11 and from the point on I have gain a lb every week since and I only added exercise and apples and almonds, yogurt. I have restarted several times before and I have never had this problem not to mention that I am not regular so I hope I will get the support I need when the challenge start.

The Last Supper!!

I ate my last carb meal tonight!
I just wanted to let every one know......
I will weigh before work.........

Breakfast: Im not sure yet.......

For lunch I have my 2 cups of salad....with chicken left overs from tonight.
I will drink as much water as I can...not sure how much that will be but I have NO excuse since I work at Pepsi.
I am going to give up soda (shhhh dont tell work that..)

My goal for tomorrow is NOT to have eat "bad carbs" and NOT to drink soda of any kind! May the force be with me.......

Look--another Hoosier in the challenge--!!! I have a neighbor!! welcome and I am sure you will do well--hopefully we all will give each other the support that is needed and the answers to the equation of losing the weight!!

Giving up soda is hard for me too--even if its diet soda--I am a diet soda addict--I really am--so I can imagine how hard that is where you work--good luck--just bring a big jug of water --with lemon--thats the only way I can do water--it has to be flavored and I can handle that--but you have to watch carbs even in those additives! crystal light really adds up

nice to see new faces-tomorrow is face the scale day girls!! want to share your names so we know who you are?

Maken this fast!!

I am suppose to be getting ready for work but I wanted my log in infor so I can use the site on my phone!!

My name is Erin...I have three girls...two teens and one pre-teen. I live in Northern Maine.

Breakfast is going to be a cup of tea....as my stomach is not happy with all the bread/starches I have been eating.

Lunch is my chicken salad

Dinner I think I am going to make taco dip........

I might find things on the way that are "no nos" I know in the taco dip the seasoning is a NONO..........I will either have to have it plain or put my own stuff in it.

Ok my tea is done...clothes ironed...lunch ready to go....guess that means I have to..........

Chat later and everyone have a good Trick or Treat day.........

Erin

PS....I will have to catch up on the posts...a few more since I was here last!

I would like to Join. I am new to challenges. I don't weigh myself. Me and the scale, we never get along. I would like to set a NO CHEAT challenge for myself. With all the awesome recipes, there's no reason to feel that Thanksgiving and Christmas need to be off plan!

Let me know the rules and how things go!

My name is Monica and I have Celiac and severe hypoglycemia. I would love to lose 20 more pounds!

Good Morning and a wonderful new start to everyone--I am sure we will all do well --as we get to know each other and begin our journey to wellness thru the holidays--I think this is a time we all can stick together and hopefully not succumb to all the goodies and temptations that the holidays normally tend to bring out? I know myself--this is where I totally lost it last year--I told myself I was not dieting thru the holidays--I had done so well for months prior and I was just giving myself leeway for thansgiving and Christmas--well that started the ball rolling the wrong way and I never did get back to the weight I was before the holidays--not even yet!!! so I hope to not do that with the help of all my new friends here---we need each other to stay strong!!

As far as rules--I think we are pretty easy--you can post what you are eating each day if you want and that helps you---on our last challenge we really didnt set a certain weigh in day--if there are more here and that seems to help the group--we can certainly decide a day that we can make a weigh in day--since we started on Mondays--we can make Monday a weigh in and report day if that is ok ? it would keep us faithful over the weekend? what do you think Michelle? I will leave that up to you since you started the thread my friend! or any other tidbits you want to add for that matter!

I do think it helps to post what we are eating-then we can see where we go wrong-I have been eating too many nuts--I know that-so this week the nuts are out! it has lead to water retainment issues also-so I am getting rid of that I hope? I am not a breakfast eater-so I do coffee only usually--I know I should eat BF--just cant seem to look at food early!

Welcome Portia and Monica--we are glad you are here!!!!

just adding wt-161 today--so I can come back and look when the challenge ends!!

BF--coffee--2 cups with sf creamer and stevia
L--2 hot dogs-sf catsup
D--roast w/salad--ranch dsg

errands to run today--cya later

Jeanne

Portia and Monica, and carbless.
It's nice to see some new people. I'm feeling really good about this challenge. I think we are going to be a wonderful support team for one another when we need it the most.

A little about me... I just finished a 100 day challenge and even though I did not reach my goal of 27 lbs, I did do 19 lbs and returned to my original 100lb weight loss. Now it's time to finish this job with 7 more lbs. Oh yah and KEEP it off.

I am 46 years old, I have no kids, but two dogs that mean the world to me and a great husband.

As Jeanne said, in our last challenge we were pretty lax when it came to rules. We just treated each other with respect, offered support when needed, and gave advice if asked. We are all grown-ups here and ultimately responsible for our own actions so offering compassion to those on such a difficult journey is what's most needed I think.

B= Protein Shake
L=Tuna Salad
D= Baked Chicken with a spinach salad.
S= SF Jello with Cream Cheese Topping

I want to do this - the more challenges I do the better, because it keeps me on the straight and narrow. I'm reluctant to set a goal- when I started I was determined to be at 120 by January 1. That was tremendously ambitious, and I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that I'm not going to lose 20 pounds in the next 9 weeks. However, I've not so resigned that I'm going to set a lesser goal, so my mission will be to stay on plan through the holidays. I'm starting out today at 140.4, and to keep myself accountable I'll report my weight every Monday.

Info about me: I'm Mary, I'm 52 years old. Married to a husband who maintains his weight easily and is not even remotely supportive of my weight loss efforts (although he doesn't like me fat). We have 3 kids, 17, 15 and 12. We also have 3 adorable puppies (OK, dogs, but I still call them puppies). No one else in the household low carbs, although I'm sure the pups would be happy to just eat meat!

I'm looking forward to going through this challenge with everyone!

Welcome Mary!
Congrats on the 80lbs lost and we're here to see those last 20 go.
Sorry to hear about the unsupportive husband. Tha's awful.
Mine has been great as long as I don't try and de-carb him.

Hi Everyone!
I want to join you as well! I am starting today. I read the New Atkins book last week, and I am committing to this WOE! I did lose about 50lbs on Atkins about 7 years ago. I never moved up the carb ladder, or followed maintenance, and slowly fell back into my old sugary ways. This time, I'm doing it by the book!
I'd love to lose 20-25 lbs before new years (I know that might be an agressive goal) and a challenge will help me focus!
My meal plan today
Breakfast
2 eggs over easy
Sausage Patty
Snack
Low carb shake
Lunch
Home made pumpkin sausage soup
Snack
Celery
2 oz cheddar
Dinner
pork tenderloin
peppers
salad w/blue cheese

Have a great low carb and spooky day!
Meg

Welcom Samantha and Meg. Ity's nice to have you aboard.

I forgot to mention ...Happy Halloween everyone. Hope everyone is planning some low carb options while passing the candy out tonight. Last year I made my own gummi bear type stuff. This year I think I'm just going to have a piece or two of Lindt 90% chocolate.
I changed my avatar today to my dog Ben as Count Dogula.Watcha think?

Thanks for the welcome, everyone!

I'm Jes. I live near the beach in a suburb of NYC with my husband and two little boys. We've been trying for a 3rd for over a year but no luck so far and I just turned 40! I work part-time as a lawyer but mostly I am home with the kids for now.

I lost over 50 lbs on Atkins in 2009 but regained it during a rough period when DH was ill -used that as an excuse to go off the rails, so to speak.

I think this will be a great group!

Ben is mighty cute as Count Dracula--its been so long since I changed my avatar-I had to have help doing it then--and I dont think I could do it again--I am so computer challenged-lol--technology just seems to bypass me--I guess I need to try harder? anyway--I guess I need to share a little about me--I am the oldie here--62-almost 63-in March--retired from nursing-I was an RN-I retired early to take care of my dad who had Alzheimers--mom couldnt do it alone-he passed and now I do alot for my mom who will be 87 in December- I have a husband who is a big eater and doesnt low carb either-he really thinks lowcarbing is nuts-but likes me thin too--he is a constant grazer and never gains--I would be 500 lbs if I ate like him-he has to have junk in the house tho--and go to the Amish buffets alot--it is my downfall! I have two sons-one lives next door--and one in Indy-the one in Indy has a son who will be a year old Sunday-!! so it seems like I am on the go alot--weekends gone are hard to stay the course!

I love to hunt lowcarb recipes--if I had the time to make them all I would be great staying on plan-I just dont spend all the time in the kitchen like I should--so if you have any great recipes--please share--I will do the same

Jes--that stress eating gets to me too--I turn to food when I am happy, sad , can't sleep, anything--I really understand why you would do that with a sick husband for sure--hopefully that is all resolved and you can focus on you and your family

Its wonderful getting to know all of you

Hello again

Karen is my name and I am 48 yrs old and married for 22years and we have 2 children our girl is 28 and my son is 20. I gained over 40lbs from last year till now dealing with some health issues and now trying to get this weight off. It seems harder this time around b/c I am doing the same thing but not getting the same results as a matter of fact I don't think I worked this hard at it before.
My husband has done atkins with me before and lost weight but is unable to do it now or he just doesn't want to. I am very frustrated with myself for letting this happen and not getting in control of the gain. Well here I am fighting this battle just praying that I can do it again with all your help. I posted my menu earlier but not my snacks so here they are.....Pumpkin bake(1),carbmaster vanilla yogurt,almonds(2ozs) baby bell cheese(1) pumpkin seeds(1oz)

I know I will have to cut back on the nuts but I commute to work so I spend about 3 hrs on the road a day so I tend to snack.
