I am doing a colon cleanse that includes a "juice" fast. I am taking some "laxative" capsules and a toxin absorber daily. Tomorrow when I begin the fast, I am to drink organic apple juice or a vegetable broth made with only organic veggies and filtered water. I am also to drink water throughout the day. I am hoping this will rid me of the yeast I have.

My military son is still here, he spent the last 3 nights at my place and of course was out with friends. We went to the movie We Bought A Zoo and he rented Limitless. He is now on his way to visit his brother in ND. That son was home for a week with his long distance gf whom he met on a Christian dating site. This was the 2nd time they had seen each other f2f and he proposed!

For the past several days I have been organizing and cleaning. I have taken two van loads to the Goodwill and will probably haul another few boxes before going back to work. Hence, the knee is doing pretty good. It was a week on Tuesday and I have full function pretty much without any pain for the most part.

Vicki, wow, that cleanse sounds pretty intense. Hope you get the results you want.

Abbi, happy birthday to your mom! And, yes, that eggs/cheese/sausage combo is hard to go wrong with. I did a post-holiday simpler version today that had tons of vegies, eggs, butter and a little splash of leftover cream -- and it came out well, too. It's a pretty forgiving recipe.

Tony, I'm in Western NC where, yes, we eat Christmas casseroles for Christmas and black-eyed peas, greens and some form of corn bread (johnny cakes or whatever) for New Year's Day -- usually followed by Red Velvet Cake. New Year's can be far more dangerous than Christmas, even without drinking.

FF, great advice and very inspiring. Here's to giving 'em hell in 2012!

Thank you for all the birthday wishes and lovely comments about Mom. I will share them with her when she wakes up. We had about 16 friends and family that dropped by. I was thrilled that Mom stayed sitting up for the whole thing. Lately it is more like for an hour and then she has had to go lay down. They all had ice cream cake except me. I did have a treat though. My niece brought some cheese I had never heard of before that she had picked up at the co-op. You know how like the horseradish cheese, well this was called mustard cheese. It had mustard seeds all through it and had that little bite to it that I like. I plan on buying some of that!

I am still on a roll keeping carbs to a minimum. Besides the cheese I had a cheeseburger, a hamburger and then a bowl ground beef yesterday with some mayo on it. Will try to drink more water today.

Hope you all have a great Friday!

Abi, may the Gods bless your mom

she looks like she is having a great time. Well, i will give it to you straight. i had THE WEIGH-IN last night. My binge disorder cost me dearly. Not the 10 lbs I thought I gained but TWENTY. So, what's done is done. New Year, New Troll. I will be very busy the next three days, so communications may not be as voluminous as usual. Let us all do it right in 2012! ff, a few of us have had a rough stretch...as you know, i am 20 lbs. above my low of last april too...the good thing about this journey is that it is not an unsolvable riddle - we know exactly what we have to do - all we need is to find the will to DO IT...i am going to get very serious on monday...gearing myself up psychologically now...i know we will all succeed...we have proven ourselves committed, just by posting here virtually every day for almost 2 years!!!!!!

abi, that sounds like a lovely birthday...happiness can do amazing things and yesterday it kept your mom up in a chair for hours!

took some of my employees out for dinner last night - had the baked haddock and salad bar...delicious!

Abi, your mom is lovely!

Twenty pounds must be the magic number - I'm up 20, too and it happened just in the past couple of months. But, as ff said, the past is past. I'm still focusing on the fact that I weigh less than I did last year at this time and I'm back on plan and expect to start losing. I figure at least 5 of it will come off quickly, as I'm no longer eating any sugar or sugary Christmas goodies.

It's a lovely day today - we are going to hit around 72 and it's going to be 78 in a few days.

As mentioned, we were given the "gift" of today off and we have Monday off as well, since the holiday falls on Sunday so it's going to be a nice 4-day weekend. I have a lot planned - I'd like to get the house nice and clean to start the year of on a positive foot. The tree will go down while watching the Rose Parade.

My very best wishes to all of you for a very Happy New Year, if I don't check in later on.

Stay safe, be blessed and stay strong!!!

staying focused was the key!!!

as I told my WW leader, in all weight loss efforts of the past, i had lost (since 9/6/91)over 100 lbs at least 6 times, only to put it all back PLUS. Not this time. Fighting an eating disorder is like fighting a Klingon. Not an easy task. but with FOCUS, you can eventually wear him down. So, if it takes 1 foot back, and 2 forward, i accept. Tomorrow, if it does not rain, i will take a nice long walk. if it does rain, I will be outside the house anyway, and back before sundown. Ditto for Sunday and Monday. As i will not be around much the next 3 days, i will ask one of u to launch BLITZ VIII(Jan 1,through March 31, 2012, the end of which will be 2 years since I started this (4/1/10 coffee truck). FF

20 lbs, yea, me too. So far today of my toxic absorber and liquids hasn't gone too bad. I am a bit tired, but I am not sure if that is due to what I am NOT eating or what I have done over the past several days. Since fiance' moved in, I have been organizing and tossing and taking stuff to Goodwill. I took 2 van loads earlier this week.

I still have a few more days off before I have to go back to work.

Hey all! Sounds like you all had a good holiday. I am doing better health-wise. I've managed to get exercise in every day while I've been visiting my parents so hopefully, when I get back to work next week, I'll be able to get back into the gym regularly.

Good Morning Blitzers! Wishing us all a very Happy New Year!

Had a pretty good day yesterday. Ate a bowl of ground beef, had some cheese, and my visiting brother went and picked up "grinders" or sub sandwiches. I ate the innards of a roast beef one. Alot of beef very rare, some cheese, shredded lettuce, onion, two slices of tomato and some mayo. Sometimes it is so nice not to have to fix your own meals.

I sure feel better about myself just eating reasonably and sticking to as low carb as possible. Scale is not showing much improvement but I know eventually it will.

They were predicting freezing rain on the roads this morning but fortunately it hasn't started yet so no problem on the trip over to Vermont. I think the radio said it would start in about an hour. My sister said she would give me the night off but if the weather is bad she won't be able to make the trip down from her home. Time will tell.

Is anyone going out tonight and seeing the New Year come in? It has been many years since we have. I like to start the New Year off well rested.

Have a great Friday! Tony, thanks for getting us started on the new blitz. I will probably forget and post on the old one like I did last time around and ask "where is everyone today?" lol
