I boiled up 3 eggs and just ate one at 12:15. Now I am allowed to eat something I like. I think a tuna salad would be good. Just a little mayo and onion on a bed of lettuce. If I get the cravings to eat again this afternoon I have to eat another egg. Wouldn't it be a hoot if this works for me?

Artemis, so sorry your Grandma is so sick from her cancer treatments. I know it is hard to watch her go through this. Hoping it will help her see some improvement. Glad the youngsters think you are still cool. lol

artemis, that is awesome!...wow, you did really really well!...i'm proud of you and happy you got to visit with everyone and be the cool aunt!...

ff, that is a very healthy way to look at a binge...sometimes, we just gotta do eat those things we don't allow ourselves to eat on a regular basis... and we should feel good that we have gotten to a place where we can stop the behavior and start eating better after a meal or a day or a few days...

abi, sounds like you are onto a good plan...one thing about hb eggs - if you eat one and drink a big glass of water with it, it is surprisingly filling...

i weighed in at 218 today, down .2 from yesterday, so i am headed in the right direction without the restrictions and penalties so far...today:

b: 1 hb egg white
s: 8 unsalted pistachios
l: ?
d: baked haddock

you ARE cool, ARTEMIS!!!

i hope u kept the youngins captive with your wondrous tales of your marathon runs. I am back to normal, as of yesterday a.m. It is easier to lose the sodium in your system than to make up for 3 days of non-stop binging. However, insofar as it did last ONLY 3 days, i regret nothing. It was delicious, and i had my fill. FF

Hi everyone! Crazy day at work so I'm late checking in. It feels so great to be back on plan! Yea!!! I've lost 5 of the stupid pounds I gained (I keep gaining and losing them over and over again - that has to stop). Doing my NutriSystem program so, hopefully, will keep losing at a steady rate of around 2 pounds per week.

Lots of activities scheduled here at work so it's going to be a challenge.

Went to church yesterday - the first Sunday of Advent - and it was all decorated....it looked so pretty! Went home and put up my tree and decorated it - it looks lovely! Of course, the critters had to inspect everything, but they got the biggest kick out of the big box the tree came in.

Vicki-did you have fun on your birthday yesterday????? I hope so. Sorry I didn't get on line yesterday.

Well, back to it - I'll check in later. We are on our way!!!!

Thanks for the vote of confidence guys! I forgot to tell you what happened when my parents saw me. I had lost about 10 lbs since they last saw me but they said I looked like I lost 20! So now I know that I am losing inches with exercise no matter what the scale says.

Happy Birthday Vicki!

Vicki, I hope you had a wonderful birthday!Did you do anything special that day and did you get some presents?

Artemis, that was terrific about your folks thinking you had lost 20 pounds. They must be so proud of you! Keep up the good work. You are very inspiring!

Tony, good idea about the glass of water after the egg. Just the egg alone was a help yesterday. Going to do the same today but need to pick up another dozen. If you are just eating the whites, what do you do with the yolk? Give it to the dog?

FF, are you safely back on track now? It helps to get out of the house and back on the work routine doesn't it.

Marillee, we haven't had a tree for a couple of years. We may have one again this year now that Bama is 3. Hope we don't come home and find all the ornaments have been chewed up. We had a cat onetime that loved sleeping under the tree. She was so cute.

How is Jenny doing this week?

Have a great Tuesday and I will check back later!

Almost finished at work. To brave the gym or not?? I tried out the old treadmill at my parents and it won't work above 3 mph, which is not adequate for running. So the search is on for a good cheap one. Maybe I can talk my family into paying part of one for my birthday

Marilee, I am so excited for you! That nutrisytem is really working well for you and to be losing in the most difficult time of the year is terrific!

Artemis, when is your birthday? Hope you can find a reasonable priced treadmill! It sure will help on those bad weather days and will be so convenient at any time.

Tony, did the water flushing help you get rid of the water weight? I wish Beth would check in with us again. Miss her too.

FF, have you finally sliced that turkey and gotten to enjoy it yet? I love turkey with mayo on it.

Have a great Wednesday all!

yes, i had a turkey meal last night.

DELICIOUS. However, it might be a tad more well done than others would prefer. I like it that way. I am going to try making those celeriac latkes tonight. I find that all the caffeine and vit b12 in the world cannot fight the feeling of wanting to get in my jammies and getting into bed after work. It is not that I have no energy. It is, that it is dark by 5:30pm. Tonight I have to hit the other closet, and get rid of about 90% of the video cassettes that are there. Then I can move a whole lot of audio cassettes in that spot, and in the shelf where the cassettes used to be, use that for vinyl lps. I would like a semblance of organization by year's end. I HATE CLUTTER!!! btw-gibby, congrats on the weight loss. I have not the courage to get on the scale tomorrow. I know I screwed the pooch. I will let it ride until 12/29/11. FF

I have found several used treadmills in local ads that seem to be in good shape (the people didn't use them much except for a coat rack), but the problem is that I have no way of picking them up to take to my house. And, preferably, I would like to put it upstairs in my spare bedroom instead of in the living room area. Or, at least, get one that folds up so that it won't be in the way. I can buy a more expensive one in a store and then pay extra for them to deliver and set up, but not sure I want to make that kind of investment with all of the holiday expenses coming up. For now, I will just wait my turn on the free ones available at the gym.

Thanks for the encouragement but I'm really not achieving much - I'm losing the weight I gained from my birthday (remember the 9 pounds?!). My goal is to survive all of the office functions, church functions, etc. without gaining anything else and hopefully, losing a couple in the process. 2012 will be the year....I feet it in my bones; or is it a guy feeling ?

No change on the scale today - but that's okay. Today is our annual decorate the Christmas tree party here at work. The provide things to eat. It's at 9:30 so I just had a small bite this morning before work and I won't eat my lunch. I'm not sure what they are serving, but I will be very selective.......if it's all sugary garbage, I'll pass. I feel so sick when I eat sugar. I must remember that the next time I'm tempted.

i never put a time limit on weight loss since 4/1/10,

whether weekly, or monthly, or yearly. I do commit to the possibility that I would be in the neighborhood of goal, or at least in 1derland by 4/1/13. But, i will not jump off a cliff if it does not happen. FF

Stupid typo - I meant "gut" feeling, not "guy" feeling-DUH!

I guess because of my knee issues and impending surgery based on my losing weight, I've put a lot of pressure on myself.

abi, i not only didn't lose the water, i gained another .6 lbs and am back at 220...weird as i am eating light, so i am not gonna sweat it...i know it will come off...

ff, happy the turkey was good...and i wouldn't count you out for april, 2013!...

marilee, i'm with you on the sugar...hope they had some stuff you could enjoy guilt-free and healthy...you're doing great!...

artemis, you could ask some of the private sellers if they could deliver the treadmill if you buy it...ya never know - they might be willing...maybe even for a small fee and that would be cheaper than a new one...

good day today:
b: handful of blueberries
l: skipped
s: 6 pistachios
d: stir-fry chicken

The gym was so HOT tonight. I managed to get on a treadmill before the masses swarmed in but barely. By the time I left, there was a line behind me waiting. I feel like I do so much better when I run outside because I can pace myself instead of having the machine pace me. Oh well, I'll get used to it.

Artemis, could you feel that line of people staring at the back of your head. lol A hot gym would be tough to work in but I have heard of people doing "hot yoga" whatever that is. Maybe hot gets better results.

Tony, sorry about the no water loss. But as you say, you are eating light so it will come off eventually. We will be putting a tree up for Mom tomorrow. We get her a balsam from a landscaping place near us. They are not cheap but are so pretty and smell wonderful. Then we will think about one for us.

Marilee, you said earlier that the chicken shots were helping with the knee pain. How often do you have to get them?

FF, we are rooting for you to be in 1nderland by 4/1/13 but know in your Ferenghi wisdom it won't be the end of the world if you don't.

Got to run. Will check in later. Hey Vicki and Jenny

delayed reaction....

feeling the binge now, even though i have been back on plan. i was up drinking water all night, and will be during today. of course, i am SUPPOSED to drink water, but this is the DIABETES talking. I WILL MOST CERTAINLY REMEMBER this episode for a long time to come. I needed this reminder. Fortunately, with the turntable in place, and the other components connected, I will be able to relax in the living room, with a bottle of water, or sodium free seltzer w/o the desire to step into the kitchen, except for more water or seltzer. I will also be able to lie on the rug, and do leg raises, and all sorts of movement. It is not necessary to SIT and listen. I am also off the next 2 Mondays, during which time I can get my Xmas shopping done. As Jay Leno has shown, there are wonderful gifts to be had at the 99 cent store. Today, i just wanted to lay in bed and sleep, sleep, sleep. I guess I will have to do my sleeping at work lol. FF

Morning! It's a miracle! Down over a pound this morning. Yea!

Abi, the brand of chicken shots I received were given to me the end of April and you got one a week for 3 weeks. You can't have any more for six months, so I'm past that date by a month and haven't had to have any more. I'm not sure how many rounds you can get total - if you body builds up a resisitance.

Artemis, I would hate having a bunch of people waiting for me a on a piece of gym equipment staring me down! Talk about uncomfortable. I hope you get one for your home for your birthday or as a December holiday/birthday combo gift!

Tony, you rock! the weight will come off.

ff - good for your for "moving to the music". Keep up the good work

in the short time i was at the gym....

no one paid any attention to me, as i feared they would. if they are looking at U, Artemis, it is because u are so good lookin'!!! But having gym equipment at the house, if u have the room for it, is most convenient. Best of luck. I thought I wanted one at my place, but my flat is much too small to accommodate one. I am getting a pair of 5 lb weights to lift for my in house and "out house" exercises. I would like to join Ballys after New Years, but I will investigate 1st. Gibby, good for the loss. That is an add'l 3500 calories burned off. FF

Thanks for asking about me everyone,

I was gone at my mom's for T-day and then been super busy--I've been doing okay but not losing any weight and in fact gained at my mom's despite eating really carefully. Feeling pretty frustrated about that, but my thyroid medicine won't have kicked in yet so I guess I can't expect alot until I have that all under control.

Write more later. Have a good day everyone!

FF, thanks for the compliment, but I am positive that was not the case! They all looked tired and ready to get their workout done to go home...I know I was! No gym for me tonight as I have to stay late at work to attend a special research seminar. I will do callentics at home instead then I need to clean a bit since my parents are coming tomorrow night. Their anniversary is Tues and my b day is wed so we are gonna paint the town this weekend. Well, we will probably wear down long before it's painted...
I have been drinking lots of water the past few days and my rings are back to being loose on my fingers. So that probably means the water weight from thanksgiving is gone but I will wait a few more days to be sure.

vicki, you are too funny!...good to see you poking your head in...

artemis, i'd love to hear where you and your parents will be headed when they are in town...do they like music?...do you have a restaurant picked out?...

jenny, hang in there - once the meds get balanced, you will see results...until then, eat healthy and don't worry about the scale...

ff, they charge rent by the square inch in brooklyn, don't they?...sorry to hear about the blood sugar, but i know the feeling...drink a LOT of water even after your thirst subsides and that will help...

abi, hope you find a great tree for mom :-) and for you!

i didn't weigh today - just forgot to do it, before eating breakfast and drinking a lot of water, so i will wait til tomorrow...have eaten well today:

b: 1 hb egg white
l: 3 oz. baked chicken
d: salad?
