Yeah on the 5 miles! I would love to be walking to school now, but it has been raining or showering pretty much every week but one since school started. I had bigFplans, well may in October.

Finally real scale movement. I am down a total of 2. I will take it. It is slower than with atkins but, so far, doable. I can't believe I haven't really been hungry. When dinner comes around, yes I want to eat, but I am not dying. I am going to stick with 2 shakes during the week. I did tell DH I would go out for breakfast on the weekends - so he has been good and not tempted me this week.

Congrats on the 2 pounds Diane! As usual, I messed up with eating the entire huge Japanese hitachi meal and a bunch of beer. I only ate that once all day, so I guess was within the Fast 5 rule kinda but I was up the full 4 pounds I had lost since Sunday. I am hoping some is waterweight, but it doesnt feel like that is the case. Glad the anniversary is over. Back to small salad today and nothing else.

good morning.

Great job on the loss Diane.
Happy anniversary.

I finally weighed this morning...148. I am going to try harder at this. DH has been making toast for every morning so I can have something in my stomach since I dont eat all day. Ummm thanks but that is not how it works.

i do love toast in the morning so much. We have this split top wheat bread and if I could just have one piece with my "i cant believe it's not butter spread" everyday I'd be a happy camper. But you are right, that is not the way it works It is too bad because that is low cal, but carb load and the wrong time for me to eat on this plan. I had a few bites of cantelope and 6 grapes already today so will have to have my salad in 4 hrs and then that is it for the day. That Jalpenese was very good last night but I knew I would be paying for every bite with a gain and I did. Going to walk 5 miles again to try to compensate but I know it was a step back. Lots of rice.

Hi ladies,

I didn't do well over the week-end with my trip to Kansas City. There were two big meals out at really nice restaurants and lots of drinks! There are such great restaurants at the KC plaza. Way too much fattening food. I have to get back on track now. I feel awful about all the eating. What is wrong with me.

Hope you both did better than I!!

I didn't do well over the weekend, but back on my shakes this week. I didn't see much drop but will give it one more try.

Happy birthday to DH

Me too. Ruby Tuesday has these great ones now. Almost better than Red Lobster but they are smaller. I think I had too many calories today, but did stay within the Fast Five rules and walked 4 miles. Its so hard.

Happy Birthday to your DH Angie!

I have had the Ruby Tuesday ones, they are good.

I don't know how you can walk 4 miles. Do you do it alone or with someone? I went to the park and walked about 2.5 with DH on Saturday and was bored to tears. ( Not the DH is boring, but well..... we had talked earlier and on the drive, so not much new to discuss. Maybe if I was alone with my ipod and humming along to music??

Off to the condo this evening after school. I have off Friday for an in-service and taking Monday off so we will have a few days down there. Only been working a month and need a vacation

WOW that condo sounds so great. We are still just like loose ends, not knowing waht to do with ourseves as far as where to live. Now are considering Texas, Padre Island, and stil Florida and AZ of course. So many options. I think you did the right thing, getting something in place now!!

I walk alone sometimes; if I'm alone, I try to run every other block to build up my heart and burn more calories. I do the best if i listen to my ipod but it seems a hassle sometimes to bring it all - I cant see it to press the right buttons without my reading glasses and I cant drag them along. Always something. I need to check into eye surgery on the one eye. So much to do. Sometimes I walk with DH (he runs every other day and I cant keep up with him). We talk but it is still boring, more boring when I am alone but I try to do it. I just cant seem to lose anything right now. Maybe it's menopause, or maybe I just eat more than I think but nothing is coming off and it's really depressing. Still trying the Fast Five but I think I am gaining. I almost bought men's pants yesterday. I feel terrible. My own fault tho so guess I cant complain.

Good morning,

Yep getting away and going to the condo does sound good before the weather gets cold.
Good job on the walking even if its boring.

Family Dinner with DH's family tonight. Mexican food..my downfall! Then DH's friend and his son are coming in for the weekend. There is a concert at the casino that they are going to go see. I told him to make it a "guy" thing because I really dont want to go. Its going to be a food filled weekend errr month rather. *sigh* Just going to have watch the portions and make good choices.

cant get away from the food that is for sure. Mexican food with the chips is definitely my favorite Angie, altho Italian pasta runs a close second! Retired people get invited to all these free dinners EVERYWHERE. I would never have to make ANY meal if I didn't want to. But I just realized that is a lot of my problem. I dont know where these people get the names when you retire, but every day we get something else in the mail inviting us to a free meal with a seminar. Just got back from a lunch at Biaggis. It was within the fast 5 time limit I had set for myself but I still consumed a way lot of calories and have not lost anything at all. It also messed up my running today, didn't get to go because of the appointment. Again my own fault, but I guess I'll just have to turn theme down and say no. But I keep thinking we need to learn about retirement investments, energy savings and all the interesting topics they discuss....

How depressing, I have a wedding to attend in early November and nothing to wear, of course. We were at the outlets today, so thought I would start looking, OMG, it was awful, worse that trying on bathing suits. I have always been top heavy, so need a larger size to accommodate the girls, but now the midsection is also heavy. Uggg. We planned on going to our favorite ice cream place here after shopping. I passed on the ice cream

I know the feeling Diane, what is wrong with us!?!?!?!?! I'm not so top heavy, but have this big new barrel around my middle that I just never had in any other part of my life, even when weight went up a bit. Maybe menopause I still walk with my rubber belt around my waist area which I believe helps a little, but I know I've got to lose actual pounds for any noticable difference or to fit in my normal clothes. I've got one baggy black dress shirt I've been wearing to every wedding, dinner event, since I gained this gut. I am wearing the same shirt and stretch dress slacks in every picture for 2 years!!!! Maybe we all see the light soon

it is very hard! I had chicken, salad, veggies, and just a tiny bit of mashed potato. Then the roll and butter ruined it all

Congrats!! I am happy for you!!!! Angie I am so glad to hear that. I haven't stayed on it as well as I could have but that is encouraging and I will stick to it if you say it works. Have you also tried to cut carbs with what you eat during the 5 hour window? Or did you eat whatever you wanted? I've stuck pretty close to it, but dinner ran late a couple of times and then I had beer after the window once. Did you have some alcohol during the window? Please give me some more details!! Did you stick to a 5 hour eating window? THanks!!

When I get home from work, I have a couple of jack and diet cokes. Last night I had a breaded chicken sandwich and fries. I was full. The night before I had sausage and eggs and texas toast. Monday was....eek cant remember but it was along the same meal plan. I have not tried to cut carbs as you can see, I am quite happy eating anything I want, except no sugar.
