Nice to see a Canadian group. I live on Vancouver Island, BC. Am on vacation i Mexico right now but plan on starting the plan as soon as we get home.

Hi all, I am in Brampton Ontario here. I've been low carbing since December 2011 on Dr. Poon's metabolic plan and am loving it. So glad to see a Canadian group here!

Hi Neeters,
I was born and raised in Brampton. When I've been back it reminds me that things are constantly changing. It's so much bigger than it used to be. I think it was in the mid-seventies that Brampton reached a population of 100 thousand.

Hello Neeters. I am in the north west part of Toronto. Coincidentally, I went to Dr. Poon's clinic last week. I was displeased to see that they recommend a low fat/low carb. How do you do it?

It had been like a Vancouver winter (or at least what I imagine that to be). But it all changed last night with a dump of snow and bitter cold (-13 this morning).

How is it out west?

It's actually not that low fat. You are allowed unlimited quantities of olive Oil, canola oil, fish oils etc. You are also allowed to use lower fat margarines such as Becel light. I am thinking by low fat he is meaning low SAT fat.

I'm finding it quite easy.

Becel and canola oil are very high in omega 6. I won't use them. Saturated fat is healthy (we actually need them) and I guess it was this lack on knowledge that really infuriated me. Sorry for criticizing... he at least is low carb and seems to be the only game going that ohip is covering. Just not for me.

I don't mind it. I don't use it that often, I mostly stick to Olive oil and canola. Since I gave up bread I have nothing to put it on anyway.

No worries. Everyone is different right? I do some modifications, on my own, and for the most part use olive oil. I do enjoy my prok rinds though.....

Just popping in to say hi from Mississauga!

I like Becel for some stuff, mostly a bit on veggies, but I use LOTS of butter and olive oil. I also keep a container of bacon fat, which really adds something to sauteed veggies and some other dishes.

Good morning, just found the thread, I'm in Sask... I tried to read previous posts to see where everyone is from but there are too many!

My husband and I are both LC, started last week of January and we're both hovering around the -15 lb mark... he only has about 15 pounds to go, I have 50. Hoping for continued loss but I know it'll slow down soon.

Is there any store in Canada that carries Carbquik?? No luck finding it in Regina.
