Nova Scotia is alright, but I wouldn't want to live there. :P Similar to Vancouver Island minus the mountain views...oh and the weather and economy is much worse lol.

Dh and I did a cross Canada trip a couple years ago. My favorite maritime provinces as nova scotia and in particular cape Breton. The Cabot trail,the drive around smoky point to ingonish,all so lovely. We stayed at the keltic lodge for a few days and enjoyed it immensely. Also the drive from Halifax to and around Peggy's cove,just beautiful

I love the weather here. Not nearly as much rain/snow as NS, and definitely alot more sun and warmer! It's all perspective I guess lol.

i was born and stayed on the coast till about a doz years ago now

Yeah, I'm from Yarmouth, the southwest shore, always breezy/windy on the coast, way more fog and cloud than anyone should have to put up with, and temps hover around 18-22 even in August. Gets a lot warmer if you go inland, and you can escape the fog, but yeah... love the island and west coast living. Don't get me started on winter there!

The last few summers 30-35 and some peaks of 40!?! were normal here. It's been a cold one for us, but then, I'm not complaining too much, saves on the hydro bill not running my a/c.

Avy,we found the August weather in Yarmouth very cool! Being from the okanagan,we just weren't used to it. We were only there a couple days then took the fast cat ferry over to bar harbor,Maine. That was a wonderful ride to the US,I wish I could get stateside that way every time

We are thinking of crossing Canada again 2014 and we look forward to ferrying to Maine again,spending much more time there than the few days we did a couple years ago. We are still working though(although I'm almost done)and tend to take our long trips in the winter. We have to get away from the cold

That would be a shame,it's a fast,smooth,luxurious way to cross. The screening and security process was so easy,they could teach airports a thing or two!

It was my first trip to the east coast and we really loved N.S. also Bar Harbor,Boston ,Newport .the kennebunkport area,manhattan, and rhode island.There were lots of other places we visited,but We had so much fun in those places particularly.

I understand what you are saying about the economy in the maritime provinces,it's been difficult for quite awhile there and it's hard for people that can't just pick up and move I hope things turn around for them soon.

We had a great evening here in Kelowna. Went for dinner to a wine bar and enjoyed a concert taking place across the street. Came home and now having a tea on the deck,very nice

Ooo fun. today I am going on a picnic with a couple friends and their children to a spray park. I've packed all my low carb goodies, and some treats for them to try too. Should be a fun day in the sun! Even found my sunscreen.

It's going to be a beautiful day here as well,although we have hazy skies from the fires in Colorado. I still love going to a waterpark,and am envious of you! It's such a great way to cool off and have fun

After church,we are going to a local lake for a picnic and fishing,then back home for a Latin Fiesta in our neighborhood. The food is being catered,all we have to bring are drinks and glasses,so I'm putting a huge container of sangria in the fridge this morning I've got a cute tiered sundress to wear with a colorful scarf at the hip,a flower in my hair and I'll be ready to dance the night away.Dh is wearing white linen pants(that he got in Mexico)and a colorful shirt.Too hot for sombreros as the party is outside

haha,we'd have to take it to the beach,park,lake with us! Honestly,one of the ways I love to have wine,is with a friend or two,on my deck. While there are many great places and wineries in the Okanagan to sip wine,with the drinking and driving laws,the pricey menus,etc.,it just seems easier to be close to home.

Last night at the fiesta,it was hot,so we drank a huge amount of sangria. We live in the neighbourhood,so we walked home about 11. Had a wonderful time,the food was catered by the golf course and was so good,the band was great,danced a lot and even competed in the limbo contest!(Of course,the yoga instructor won)

Today,the window cleaners are coming and I'm making more strawberry jam. Other than that,I am going to the gym,then may hit a bucket of balls at the range.Oh,and laundry.

I have a *wine room* in my house that i make my own in..have 2 batches on the go right now a zinfindal and a merlot

I've made wine a few times,but I just can't compete with the product I can buy at the wineries and wine shops, so i dont bother anymore. I also love the wines from Argentina and chile,they are great value and tasty

my wine kits are Italian..most people that are wino's like me like my wine better than anything.I even have 2 friends that run u-brews and they cant beleive how good my wine turns out.

Gallaghers canyon,in a two story. My kitchen windows are over 20 feet from the ground. Dh wanted to clean them this time. No...not going to happen. I want him around for a long time

I get them cleaned usually spring and fall but this year the windows stayed clean until recently. It's not too expensive,they clean inside and outside and all the screens for under $200 and do a beautiful job.
