I have a love/hate relationship with costco.
spent $550 there today on food and a few cleaning supplies...ugh!

Then went to the liquor store and dropped another $200!

Summertime entertaining can be expensive

I know! It's crazy isn't it? We usually spend 2-3 months in the winter in the US,and get so spoiled with the cheap booze

We will be down in coeur d'alene next month and will pick up a few bottles, but summertime guests are thirsty

Happy Monday ~ Listening to the rain. Weather report is a rainfall warning for the North Okanagan - Vernon. They are setting up sandbag locations.

Haven't made it to Costco is ages ... sounds like a great deal on clothes .... of course they don't have my size and chipotle mayo sounds awesome.

Shoo ~ Missed hockey because I was at a Toastmasters Meeting.

Mel ~ I'm thinking of you everytime I walk up and down the stairs

How are you doing this week VancouverBarb?

Holy crazy rain ... praying for no rain on Sunday ... I have an outdoors event.

Mel ~ I was just posting about Tim Horton's Camp Day .... I didn't actually go. I have been so amazingly good. Today was Day 5 and I was so proud of myself. I went to VWIB and their only main course options were lasagne and cannelloni (which I love) - I did not eat ANY, I had salad.

I've been thinking ... my rings are spinning around my finger and my pants are loose, maybe the scale is wrong. I changed the battery. It doesn't make sense, there are times I actually suspected it should have went up. Of course DH weighs just fine.

Tomorrow, I am going to pick up something heavy and get on to see what happens.

Sorry about the long post.

Stay dry if you are in the Okanagan. Oh an on a side note, they have 1 foot of fresh snow at Silver Star

I love Costco. I buy my coffee for about half price(compared to what I pay at Safeway), but like shoo I always spend way WAY more than I would like. I buy my work shirt there (mens dress shirt) 16.99!! Will be checking out the other clothes, I haven't really done that.

My dh is turning 50 at the end of the month. We are planning to hit the Okanagan for camping. We don't have a set plan, but I'd really like to visit Vernon and area as I've never been before.

Can you Okanagan peeps give any good recommendations? We have a dog, so are thinking hiking, swimming, walking. Nice little lakes? towns? campgrounds?

Thanks in advance.

Good Morning ~ I am happy and kind of sad. I did an experiment this morning, found something and put it on the scale, it weighed 8 pounds - took it off and held it in my arms while I stood on the scale and guess what ... you guessed it ... scale still says 323 so basically I am over 323 and the scale will not register until I am under 323. Sad to think that I weigh over that but happy to think that I have been losing.

Now I have to decide whether I get a new scale or just wait until I get to a weight that the scale will register (DH and DD are accurate).

Sun is shinning

Speedymagee ~ Awesome that you are planning a trip to the Okanagan. Vernon is great.

One of my fave places, with hiking, camping and the lake is

Ellison Provincial Park - Located on the east side of Okanagan Lake, just a few miles south of Vernon, Ellison Provicial Park is a small park offering big recreational opportunities. Bring the camera along to take advantage of all the photo opportunities. Hiking, fishing, biking, canoeing, kayaking and more, are just a few of the recreational opportunities available here. Otter Bay, in Ellison Provincial Park, has a scuba-diving and snorkelling park. 71 campsites are offered and amenities include picnic tables, flush and pit toilets, fire pits, water and wood. The beach area has changing facilities.

I buy coconut oil at natures fare or choices. I have been a faithful user for 3 or 4 years now,put it on after my shower and cook with it often. A little bit in my morning coffee,so yummy

Happy Sunday ... I am so tired and had a bit too much sun but feeling incredible grateful for the SUNSHINE!! Event was good. Not sure how much we raised ... I think it will be less than last year but overall I'm happy.

Today is Day 7 of being on track and feeling really focused. Kind of hungry right now, had a smokie with no bun, of course, for lunch and didn't have time for breakfast. Very excited for steak and prawns dinner (if my dh ever gets home from grocery store).

I wish I could say that I didn't want the bun but those fresh buns from Country Bakery smelled so good

Mel ~ Yes getting lost in Armstrong is pretty funny ... Have fun camping, whereabouts are you going?

Thanks Jennie

SO Costco sells jars of sun dried tomatoes packed in evoo.....

30 calories per 2 teaspoons goes along way and its better than any salad dressing i have tryed

new fave salad is cellery/cucumber/multi-colored peppers/almond slivers

put the salad in a air tight container..2 spoons of tom's and put the lid on and shake..

Glad you had a good holiday Mel .... thank goodness for sun on Friday. So sad about all the flooding ....

I'm getting a little tired of the rain and clouds. Funtastic is just around the corner and we are going to Vancouver to see Nickleback next week.

Your new salad sounds YUMMY!!
