We have a trail around here that we prefer to ride on. It's a lot harder than biking on the pavement, but less chance of getting run over by a car!

LOL, you are probably right - once he starts it, he'll probably like it. Good luck getting him to try - now that my DH is biking, he loves it. ^_^

We spent the early part of the afternoon cleaning up the decks and deck furniture. How in the world did we accumulate so much deck furniture? We use all of it when entertaining,but for day to day use,it clutters up my deck spaces. I think I need to get rid of some stuff!

Went for a walk and it's not very warm in the okanagan. I was hoping for spring to really be here!

Hi, I am new to this thread, have been hanging around the threads from Kevin Pa(RIP)s
low carb bread recipes.
I too am training for 1/2 marathon, in Calgary end of may, but still have small ones before that i will be doing.
I do power walking in the marathons, started a year ago!
Love it , it is the best thing I have done for myself AND my munchkin dog who started training with me ......she has very little joint pains now, all gone!
It has made an incredible difference with my blood sugars.
I have also gone off libation for 3 years and that too has made a huge difference....
I sound boring!!!
Tons of snow today, but warm, we get lots of snow!.....good winters but poor summers!
I find that I spend less on food if I have whole foods, but more if I go the processed route.
I basically eat Paleo now and that has made a huge huge difference in my life!
Much easier to keep the weight off, than straight Atkins!

Marathon power walking

And to add to that, most our walkers are hurt Runners, which makes it challenging, because they make us walk at a fast pace, sometimes at low as
7.5mins per KM! when we are walking the 1/2.

oops, i meant, runners who got injured running, so they switched to power walking, thats why the phrase "hurt runners".

The thing about walking, is that I never lost weight walking before, until I started to train for the marathons. The training forces you to time yourself and thats the key to losing weight walking....each day you walk and that is not every day, about 3 times a week the pace is different but with a timing and disttance goal.
I am hooked and I love it!

I go to the Running Room , it is all over the city....and in other cities in canada too, just google it to search.....they also take part in marathons all over the world.
So you can pick and choose which ones you want to enter and where, a great way to work in holiday!...I took DH on my last one in Vegas!

didnt they do lots of reno's at the hospital then? are you still working there?
