Cicadas are noisy but won't hurt you MK.
Cindy, I love all the party photos. It is getting closer to the big day. It will be wonderful. Kaye, yes we need to hear about the party. Kelly, has your son heard about the job. My youngest has a job but he could certainly work more. There just aren't more hours. Becky, where are you??? Margot, hope all is well there. I am off to work 12 hours. I was up for hours last night. I think the fact I took a long nap in the afternoon didn't help. Then I drank diet coke( with caffeine at the pool opening party). After the party I started looking at all the medical things for the race I am volunteering for and it really stressed me out. All that meant no sleep. It is going to be a long day today. I baby sit Isabella at 3 tomorrow. I need to get a run in and start some cleaning around here at some point since my mom comes in 10 days. She is a clean freak. My youngest was away all weekend and hasn't come home yet. Drives me crazy. His cell is dead. He can't be reached. I hate when I can't reach him. I would hope he is working today because he didn't work all weekend. I am lazy and that isn't the way to be on a Monday in the ED. I am praying for an easy day. I so wish I was only working 8 hours. TOM came yesterday too. What is the deal with a period every 22 days? I am soon to be 55 it is time for this to end. I think the reason I was so tired and needed to sleep yesterday had to do with impending TOM. My stomach was off for the morning too. I know hormones are good and I should be happy I still have some doing something but I get things every month around TOM like migraines, increased back pain, stomach issues and a day where I usually feel exhausted and just need to sleep. Sorry for the me moment and the complaints. My husband never wants to hear it. He isn't a complainer ever. It is hard because I can't tell him how I feel.He is a deal with it kind of guy. He does understand when I can't sleep but then again I tend to wake him up when I don't sleep so he suffers the consequences. |

hi Deb!
That's what we're here for - feel free to complain away! ![]() I also hate when I can't get in contact with the kids - boys are especially bad about it! I know the cicadas won't hurt me - but they have no radar and they fly right into you! And when there's 1000's out there at once, you feel like you're dodging bullets! All our landscaping looks like this: ![]() ![]() |

*yawn*
Everything went wonderful this weekend. We had about 35 come to the party, family and friends in the afternoon, then DD18's friends later at night for the bonfire. It was pretty warm here so the rental tent and tables shaded the guest and food well. Have some leftovers, but not too much, so lots of food got eaten. It was kind of busy and forgot to put out the cakes and some other food! *foreheadslap* Oh well. The commencement on Sunday was very nice, though 2+ hours in the hot sun was a bit much. It was a special day. Beyond tired today and working on getting pics off the camera so I can share a couple today. Glad your party went well too Cindy! Will be back later, and sending hugs all around for now, as I want to jump in the shower hoping that will make me feel better. Maybe a nap too? ![]() |

Morning-
We spent most of the weekend getting ready for the onslaught of family/friends that begins this week. DH and the boys did the big yard work stuff (cut the lime tree and some other stuff WAY back) I have some flowers to plant in pots to replace some stuff that is gone. (mostly annuals, so that's okay) We also went back to the outlet mall to grab a couple of things DH needed and I decided to try on a couple of cute pairs of capris at the Ralph Lauren store. I grabbed the 8P and had to come back out for the 6P. DS13's braces come off today. So that will take up a good part of our day.DS17 hasn't heard anything about the job. He just applied Friday afternoon, so it is soon. DH is going to call today at some point. There are very few jobs here for adults, much less for teenagers that need to get some work experience and a little cash to go into their pockets. It is very few hours, but his sports schedule is pretty full, so that's okay too. Debbie, feel free to complain if you need to! My DH usually just says "If you feel bad, go to bed" (so, kinda the same thing) MK, I'm with you on the ick factor on the cicadas. BLECH! I know they won't hurt me, but I just don't like bugs. Cindy, the party looked like a lot of fun! Glad it went well! Big to everyone else, gonna grab some breakfast... |

Good Monday Morning,
I am still here and plugging along. I hope everyone is doing well. My goals this week are to keep my fiber levels up, keep the carb levels down and drink tons of water. I am also looking into probiotics. I feel better when I take them and I think there must be a reason for that.lol I will try to check in more frequently. Margot |

Oh my, still just wiped out and had to run errands and pick up the repaired car.
Cindy, the pics were amazing! Such beautiful people and so much fun. ![]() You, and all the ladies here I have email for, also got a link to a photobucket gallery of all the grad and party pics from this weekend. Also a new updated email for me, one I can access anywhere and at higher speeds. Have a filling that either cracked or something last week and have an appt. in the morning for the dentist to look at to see what needs to be done to fix it. Has been sensitive and painful for a week, but didn't have time to deal with it and ate lots of ibuprofen instead. Hope it's nothing too horrible... ![]() My broken toe (allegedly) is feeling better, but will lose the nail. For the events this weekend I plastered it with nail polish to hide how ugly and keep it glued on! ![]() Have to finish helping DH drag some more limbs down we didn't get to after the storm last week, still hot out there...ugh. At least the firepit is empty again! I can't wait until I can go to bed! LOL TTYL |

We are back at the ortho, there was a minor problem with the bottom retainer. Of course, that meant we had to get on the freeway with everyone else here, oy! The merge was CRAZY!
Kaye, just clicked through your pics, thanks for sharing! Loved the red/white tent & the puppy looked like he was entertaining the kids! Cindy, great idea to have lunch at home, especially with everything you have going at the moment! Margot, I think everyone's weight bounces around. It's frustrating, but the trend is what is important. MK, at this point our summer is almost full... It will be busy but fun. Sadly, I'm the one that always ends up with a sunburn when we go to the beach with oot company since normally I tend to hide in the shade. |

Loved Kaye's pic's also - my fav was the video at the end!!! I think you all are right - I am going to savor the peace and quiet and on the days I don't have to run, I am coming home............granted it's to let DD's dog, Artie out, but it works out in my favor also! |

Having take-out for dinner here tonight. DS13 wanted ribs (yummy) & corn on the cob (which I'll cook) after almost 3 years with braces.
I had a meeting for a July 4th race that our local sports teams volunteer for as well. |

Morning!
We are having a heat wave! Supposed to be 92! Acccckkkkkk! Dental appt, work, then another spray tan after work. Kelly - I remember getting MY braces off and corn on the cob was the first thing I wanted. My walking friend can't go (again) today, so may take DD's little Artie and go around the neighborhood......I think I need to get indpendent walking and find a safe route and go on my own..... Have a good Tuesday! |

Kelly - yay for DS!! I think I wanted caramels! Cindy - definitely find your own route!! I love walking with friends, but I use the neighborhood streets when I'm on my own and feel perfectly safe. AND I get to listen to a book on my IPod. |

MK - there is a large office complex just up the street that houses United Health Care, with a great path around it, with some inclines and takes me about 45 minutes to go twice around. DD23 and I used to walk it daily...I think I am going to start walking that.
Do you put both ear plugs in, or just one? I'm thinking one would be safer! ![]() |

Mornin'
Dental appt. for me too Cindy...Ugh. We have 90s and high humidity here too. Ew, the bugs MK! We were in DC two years ago when the 17 year cicadas were there. Remember Deb? So many and so messy! Kelly, congrats to DS getting his braces off! When DD got hers off, the ortho gives a gift bag with caramel corn and taffy! LOL Hope the retainer issue is fixed. Becky, thinkin' of ya! Margot, proud of you for sticking to it! Hard to eat well when it's so busy. I'm getting the after effects of some high stress and feel like I'm falling apart! Jenn, In my thoughts as I know how insane the end of the school year is with elementary age. Just crazy. Hope all our MIA Shorties are doing well. (((hug))) Have to get dressed to look presentable to go out. Glad the AC in the car works good! cya later. ![]() |

Morning-
My eating was weird yesterday, not bad (other than over doing on the smokehouse almonds) just weird. (I had a tomato instead of corn on the cob) I am going to try to make it to our little local farmers market today. They don't have nearly the selection as the one on Sundays in the city, but I should be able to get some fresh eggs, nice veggies and flowers. Cindy, when I walk alone with my ipod I only use one ear phone, BUT our streets are pretty full of tourists in the summer and they don't pay attention to what's around them. Some of them will run you over with a bike on the sidewalk. (or they will take those 4 seated pedal surrey things on the sidewalk too, its obnoxious!)Kaye, for your dentist visit today. Hope all goes well. ![]() I loved your big back yard too. It was hard to type much from the phone while waiting yesterday. MK, DS13 had a long list of stuff he wanted. (He's the kid that always knows what he wants and isn't afraid to ask for it) A few things from his list... gum, corn on the cob, ribs, honey roasted peanuts, chewy candies... and to our MIA shorties! |

wow I have missed so much.
Kaye, I loved the photos. I liked the video too. My HS was red and white too. MK, the cicadas are horrible but I don't remember seeing them as much as I heard them. Cindy, if it is a walking path with other people on it is should be safe. the thing with ear pods is hearing if people are approaching. I just keep the music lower. One ear pod would be fine too. Kelly, our ortho gave my son a bag of candy too. Sorry you had to go back with the retainer. Margot, dieting is so hard. You seem to be figuring it out. I think Probiotics are good and I should take them but don't. I am not one to take anything. No vitamins. I have been out of my calcium and need to take it again. Becky, where are you lady? Saw you on FB. Who am I missing? Yes Kaye we need to hear from Jenn, Ange and other missing shorties. Saw Sophie peeked in. I worked late. I mean I got out at 11:45 so extra late. Was up by 6:30. Needed to run this morning but didn't want to get out of bed so stayed there until around 8 and didn't get out to closer to 9.Hot here too and only getting worse. Will be 97 or something close Thursday. I am baby sitting at 3. I need to eat, shower, fold laundry and want to buy Father's Day Cards. Plan on gift shopping Thursday. I need to find time to clean before my mom comes. I have a week. I also need to grocery shop and do other things. Better move my butt off this chair because I ran 8 miles and I am not starving. I didn't eat first. |

Hello, first real day of SUNSHINE here in so long! I am finding it hard to believe it.
I will pm my email to you Kaye if that is o.k. I would love to look at pictures. If you have a group list feel free to share it. Kelly congrats on the 6p. It feels really good when we have to go back for a smaller size doesn't it? Debbie, I take some vitamins every day along with my thyroid medication. I should also take a multi-vitamin too and I have niacin and other vitamins to help with cholesterol, peri menopause etc. but I never take them regularly. I have been taking probiotics and extra fiber since last Friday and I am finding that I feel better. I am not having the usual pre TOM cravings and my energy seems more stable. I won't know until Sunday if I've managed to move any weight but I feel lighter. I hope everyone is having a good Tuesday.
