THREE DAY EGG FAST
Would anyone like to join me on a three day egg fast starting tomorrow, May 5?? I would really like a buddy to do this with!
I copied the instructions from Beezer Louisina's post: Instructions: 1. Must eat eggs as the primary source of fat and protein. 2. 1 tablespoon of butter used per egg consumed. 3. I must eat an egg no later than 30 minutes after waking. 4. The egg meals ideally should be eaten every 3 hours, but not more than every 5 hours. 5. I will follow this schedule even if I'm not hungry, however I'll only have 1 egg when that happens. 6. Cheese will be permitted up to one ounce per egg. 7. A minimum of a half-dozen eggs must be consumed daily. 8. The eggs will be local pastured eggs loaded with healthy omega-3 fats and vitamin D. 9. Egg consumption will cease three hours before bedtime 10. Diet soda will be allowed up to 3 cans daily with a goal of 1 or less. I think I will follow it as a guideline. =D

I'm so "eggcited". I just picked up three cartons at Trader Joes. I'm boiling eggs now. I have Spin class noon tomorrow, but I usually eat hard boiled eggs in the morning.
Hope this doesn't ruin eggs for me! |

Ruining eggs for myself was also a concern for me. But I've always wanted to try an egg fast so...
I jog everyday for 30 minutes and was debating whether to jog during the egg fast. |

Im a little late but can I join? Only thing is I cant adhere to numbers 2, 3(have already been up for 3 hours, eaten nothing, just had my coffee), maybe 4 and 9.
I really need something to get my butt into LC again. Won't get into details, I have a journal if here if you want to read (boring reading though!). I was already taking egg salad for lunch at work. Lunch for me today means around 5! I can eat 2 eggs now though. |

Thanks PIKNIK!
OK I basically forced down 2 HB eggs with sea salt. The first was easy but the 2nd was a little harder. I think the salad later will be easier since I will have mayo and bacon in it! I have to go cut up some cheese now to take also! Last edited by PghPALady1974; 05-05-2011 at 08:07 AM.. |

YAY WELCOME!!! I am not adhering to all the rules, just using them as a guideline so make this Egg Fast work the way you want to. I'm going to go make some deviled eggs so I have something to eat all day. |

Hi Eggheads!!
So far today I have had: 11 eggs 60oz of lemon stevia water. 60oz of Ice Tea with Stevia leaves and fresh spearmint. And a 3 tbles of Coconut oil I plan on not eating cheese. Can't wait to see the numbers tomorrow. I wonder if meat and eggs would do the same thing? Not bad so far. |

I so enjoy reading eggfast threads.
Perhaps I'll see you in the meat-and-egg thread one of these days. I'm having eggs for supper and will be sending you all good thoughts. |

PIKNIK, congratulations!
I have heard that eggs are the perfect food. Egg yolks do provide everything those little carnivorous chicks need to grow into perfect, beautiful chickens. Here is Chris Masterjohn's article on egg yolks. It gives a bit of info. |

Thats great piknik!!!!!
I can't explain it myself, but it works pretty good for you!![]() I need a serious intervention and a new job! If you guys didn't pop over to my journal, I work at a gourmet food store. Which means, candy and a lot of other bad stuff! I am soo addicted to sugar right now! Went waaaaaaay off track yesterday! ![]() Can someone please send the Intervention tv team to me??? I dont know why I can't do this for just 3 days! I know I'd feel so much better and the cravings would be gone if I got into ketosis! ![]()

5/5
8 eggs 2 tbls coconut oil 2 tbls mayo Over 64 oz water No real change in weight here. 5/5 125 5/6 124.8 Maybe I needed more calories? I seriously couldnt put another egg in my mouth yesterday as I felt ill, not sure if it was the eggs, heat, or some other factor. I find myself feeling more and more nausea over the last few days when I don't eat for 6 hours. Oh yeah, something amazing happened yesterday... I didn't touch a single diet soda!! I drink 6-8 cans on average each day, I'm a total addict, but I just didn't crave a diet soda yesterday. Instead, I kept jugging down ice water. Oh yeah, my stomach was making LOTS of gurgling noises yesterday. Piknik- I am SO excited for your loss!!!!!!! Shari- start again today! Last edited by happyone; 05-06-2011 at 07:54 AM.. |

Sorry for all the spelling errors, I'm posting from my phone with autocorrect and I can't even scroll up to fix mistakes.
I'm going to start my day off with some nice sunnyside up again. I boiled lots of eggs yesterday so I'm ready for today. If I could move the scale to under 124, I would be sooooooo happy! |

Happyone, I can't imagine using a tiny screen and keyboard to post.
Congratulations on the soda-free day! We are each so different, but I have never found that increasing calories helped me. Some people say it helps them, so ???? I remember when I stopped drinking diet sodas, that after a few days I dropped a couple of pounds. Might have been water, trying to dilute all the poisons from those things. Sending you lots of good thoughts. |

Auntie em- Thank you for your words! They give me hope!! Something about the saltiness of diet sodas is really turning me off right now, so I believe the next couple of days will be diet soda free for sure.
I try to at least eat 1200 calories on LC, as I found that it is really easy for me to drop below 1000 if I'm not careful. I'm just never hungry! Please keep popping in!!!! You are our cheer leader and band right now!!! |
