Thanks. So my total for today is:
1 fried egg in butter for breakfast. 2 boiled eggs with mayo and wasabi mustard for lunch 1 yolk from my son's hardboiled egg for snack (he ate all the white!) + 2 TBSP HWC in my coffee. 3ish scrambled eggs (shared the pot with my son) in butter with 2 little sausage links for dinner. Total 6-7 eggs. I know sausages aren't eggs but I couldn't face just eggs for dinner. ![]() I'll be interested to see how my weigh-in it goes tomorrow. I do seem to have been passing a lot of water today, hope that's a good sign. I think this has been a good kick start to get me to think about the quantities I'm eating but I'm looking forward to a bit more variety in my food again.

Just bought a carton of organic eggs. Will have to keep them for non boiled
Don't want to deal with the shelling hassle they would be right now. Going to boil some tonight and start out tomorrow morning with breakfast. Do you all do 3 days and then take a break or keep at it? |

I'm very interested in this thread, but I'm wondering if the butter/coconut oil are necessary. I want to start tomorrow morning but don't have either...can I go without or are the extra fats necessary?? Any reason why EVOO isn't used??

I agree with Gail. I started most days with 4 hard boiled or deviled eggs. Pick the fat of your choice later!

Lawgirl, here is Dr. Kurt Harris' blog page on Fats and Oils, which explains the choices very well.
Each one does the egg diet how she or he chooses. The guidelines in the first post of this thread were just how someone or some did the egg diet at one time. They are a tad arbitrary, and not based on scientific studies designed for optimal health. To explain that statement, a few examples: there is no metabolic need for mayo (full of PUFAs), diet sodas (excito-toxins, stimulate insulin secretion, which means more fat storage), cheese (allergies to casein and lactose in some). There is no way someone on an internet forum can choose what, when, or how someone else should eat anything. Personal choice is vital and crucial. There number of eggs one eats, how they are cooked, when, etc. is completely up to individual choice. Best wishes to all for happy, healthy egging. Last edited by Auntie Em; 05-11-2011 at 03:58 AM.. Going in girls! First eggs for breakfast! Weighed in at 150 this morning. Will see what happens. I predict a pound of so soon since part of this gain is water weight from the weekend I'm sure. Hoping the eggs help that along and then some

Interesting article Auntie Em.
Started today with 3 scrambled eggs with a slice of cheese and some I cant believe its not butter. Boiling more eggs now for later and I'll pick up real butter tonight. I'm excited to see much I can lose in 3 days... |

Hi LC Friends,
I'm jumping in starting today. 5/11 8 a.m.weigh in - 218 lbs I'm so eggcited! I love eggs, eggs w/mayo, scrambled, anyway. I was eating them on Stillman and, using a modified IF approach, losing about 1 lb per day, but no added fat--some mayo. For complicated reasons in my head, I felt compelled to count calories and attributed the weight loss to cals in/cals out. Now I can unabashedly eat eggs and some added fat. I can do 12 eggs per day! So, this AM, I weighed in but have not had breakfast-18 hr fast. I am going to TJ's shopping now to get eggs, a little shredded asiago/parm/romano cheese, mayo, wasabi mayo, mustard, butter and find coconut oil. Will report in later!! Well done Kitty and Dee. I was down another 0.6lb today even after broadening what I'm eating. This has really got me kickstarted again and into a rhythm of eating less food

Hi y'all!
Ready to get started on my meat and egg fast tomorrow. Stopped at the store and bought 30 eggs and husband is grilling 10 pork chops and I've got chicken and steak if I need backup meat. Got my butter, mayo and coconut oil so it is going to be on like donkey kong. Jan! Good to see you!Laura Edited to add: Oh just saw there was a meat and egg thread! Now I'm conflicted on which to do.............I best decide by tomorrow, huh? Last edited by ellgee; 05-12-2011 at 06:32 PM.. |

From 218-217-222. Bummer! Up 5lbs, maybe? I stopped juggling my scale and ended up with 222, although I did see 216 (1 lb less than yesterday) in the juggle but I didn't go with it. It could just be my old, INACCURATE scale. I need a new one. Now under investigation. Any help at all is appreciated. Here's what happened yesterday. No breakfast today but monstrous appetite after coffee. 8 eggs (1 deviled) 640 5 oz cheese 500 4 TBS mayo 400 4 pickle slices 72 oz coffee 22 32 oz water 32 oz iced herbal tea 10 I am not usually a coffee/caffeine drinker and have lost weight without it. As of now (after 24 oz today), I will cut it out. After 3 days, I finally see the effects are not good. Even though there is a serious diuretic effect, I lose my appetite suppression and my stomach growls and rolls like crazy. At first, I was usually satisfied with the eggs, but my mind (appetite?) began to want something more. I got crazy cravings for any kind of food, (pickles wrapped in cheese!) not just sweets, and then I overate. I also got a little sluggish--no mental desire to do my 40min walk or anything, sitting around reading/computer, a 2-hour outing to the dentist, watching TV in the evening for 2 1/2 hours, bed by 10:30p. I also experienced anxiety, especially over this dieting period. I thought it was the fat causing the weight because of "lots of calories", like the cheese and mayo, but those are ketogenic and diuretic. My carbs yesterday with all that food were 11 = VLC. It's the coffee. I will add meat to the eggs on Stillman beginning Saturday. Hopefully, I will have a "whoosh" tomorrow. |

I think I have a "dietary fat" phobia with a fixation on bad "cals in/cals out" science. I haven't had breakfast yet. I am soooo hungry!! My stomach is cramping and rumbly after drinking that 24 oz of coffee. I am going to follow you folks and have 4 eggs scrambled in kerrygold butter and chill.
Then, I'll add 1tsp of coconut oil to my iced herbal tea. Challenging!! And then more eggs, if needed--in more butter. I am already VLC. I just finished reading Aunt Em's referenced article on Hyperlipidemia by Peter What'sits (Dobromylskyj?). So, here goes.Dee Still Soldiering On with a Special Forces Covert Op diet!! |

Eggs don't seem to be doing anything for me either. I went from stillman's to this egg fast, and today is day three and I'm only down ~1lb. If I dont see a woosh tomorrow morning I'll go back to stillmans.

Full disclosure: I HATE EGGS!
But I'm doing this for 3 days and then finishing May with 2 weeks of Dukan QWL. Breakfast: 2 egg whites with 1 ounce of Monterey Jack cheese and fresh dill Lunch: 2 whole egg omelet with 1 ounce of Monterey Jack cheese and 2 fish/flax/borage oil capsules I already have a headache and am getting cranky, so it must be working! (LOL) |
