Good Evening everyone!!
Busy busy day. I'm really enjoying the Meat and egg Annie Em, again a wealth of information! I was on the Kurt Harris site for a long time. I have learned so much in the last couple of days. You have turned me on to butter I will look for pastured butter. I do have access to pastured eggs too, I just haven't acquired a taste for them. I will try them again! Hi GENUK! Can't wait to see your results tomorrow!! I was stuck at 167 not that long ago! Hi Jeaniem, I Lifted weights on the egg fast and felt great! If you check out the Bodybuilding Forum you will see that they work out hard during egg days with no problems in endurance and stamina. I think if your used to VLC then you should be fine. You will lose either way ![]() Welcome WOTS!! Can't wait to see how you do tomorrow! Hello my fellow eggheads Happyone and Shari!! Hope you all are well ![]() |

Welcome all new eggers!!! I am super excited you have joined, and hope you see awesome results!
jeaniem- i couldn't believe how much fat made me nauseus, but i think i'm over that nausea wave and feel great today. genuk- you are off to a great start! Holy COW PIKNIK!! *Rubs eyes*, look at that weight girl!!!!!!! you are so much closer to goal now!! So proud of you, and so grateful you did this with me. I was having second thoughts and wasn't going to do it if no one joined me =D. so, today really screwed me up. At bjs, the sauces were so sugary that i went home and just slept. Coma = sure sign that I had a carb attack. I hope the scales dont jump up tomorrow. It's so frustrating when you make the best choices possible but it's not enough.

Good Morning, Eggies.
PIKNIK, I'm so glad you are enjoying reading Dr. Harris' blog. I read it over and over, every day for months, until I knew what to eat, why, how, and I could be at peace with my food plan. If you have questions which Dr. Harris doesn't go into enough detail about, Peter Dobromylskyj's blog, Hyperlipid, is brilliant, funny, and well, my favorite nutrition blog. I don't fret about the science that is beyond me. I read his conclusions, and his answers to all the questions in the comments. Dr. Emily Deans' blog, Evolutionary Psychiatry is very good, too. Well worth reading. Happyone, I ate eggs only for lunch and supper yesterday, and felt a bit nauseated after supper, for a while. So much so, that I ate some unsweetened coconut flakes. That took care of it. I slept well and was a pound less this morning. Those eggs must be the perfect food. For me, I can't imagine that the fat causes the nausea, as I usually eat 100 or more grams of animal fat per day. My ratios are usually: C: 20-30g, P:50-75g, F: 90-120g. I've read comments by others that the all-egg fare causes some queasiness. Don't know what it is???? I've read some news articles about some folks staying on all-egg diets for months. Happy Successful Egging, everyone. Last edited by Auntie Em; 05-09-2011 at 04:26 AM.. Reason: typing error |

Morning everyone! I've had two fried eggs in butter for breakfast, I couldn't face the CO. One tip for nausea from fatty foods that I read in Sally Fallon's Eat Fat Lose Fat is to try drinking a little bit of ACV if you feel like that. I've tried it a couple of times and I think it helps. I think it takes a bit of time to work up to really high fat levels if you're not used to eating them.

Thank you! Weighed in at 166.3 this morning which is a new low (seen 166.5 a couple of times) so that's good motivation to keep going. I think I've been eating too much the last few weeks, I've not been tracking because I want this to feel like how I eat now rather than a diet, and I'm not in huge hurry to lose the weight, but once this is over I'm going to try and not eat so much.

Same weight today, 123. Glad those sauces didn't make me gain =D
Good morning everyone! AE- if I find some pastured butter I will most definitely try it. I'm glad you got over the nausea. I'm curious about the people who were on the extended egg diet, that doesn't seem too healthy to eat only one type of food for months... Or maybe it totally is? Genuk- hopefully M\E will kill those cravings and hunger and you will naturally start eating less without feeling deprived. I'm excited to do a clean M/E today. I'm going to start with my sunnyside ups as usual. Last edited by happyone; 05-09-2011 at 08:30 AM.. |

Hi kimmiejean, hope it works well for you.
So far today I've had two fried eggs in butter for breakfast, 3 hardboiled eggs mashed with mayo and black pepper for lunch, one hardboiled egg for a 3pm snack with a tiny bit of wasabi mustard and mayo, and for dinner tonight I think I might make an omelette with a little bit of cheddar. So 6 so far, maybe another 2 or 3 to go. I'm not feeling so hungry today although there's still time... |

Hi ladies! I am REALLY interested in trying this egg fast thing. I have two questions though:
1. Do you think it is harmful for our bodies to go several days or a week without any nutrients from vegetables? 2. Are you taking a fiber supplement of some sort to help you out? Thanks so much! |

Good Evening fellow eggers:
A little fatigued, but all is well. This is actually alot easier to stick to than I thought it would be. Here's today's digs: B- 3 Eggs baked with butter and a sprinkling of pecorino romano cheese ( less than a tsp ) and decaf coffee with cream and davinci syrup (sugar free of course) 2 quarts of water L- 6 deviled egg halves - 2 quarts of water S- 2 hard boiled eggs with curry powder - 2 quarts water w/ mio drink flavoring (zero carbs) D- 3 baked eggs with butter, chives and chili powder 2 quarts of water 1 cup of decaf w/ cream and davinci syrup Did get my workout in 30 minutes with Jillian Michaels. A little fatigued right now, but it should pass. Happy Evening all... Blessings, Diane |

I'm a HUGE vegetable person. I know I'm only giving then up for a short time. I do take a supplement and have for years called Vitamineral Green by Warrior Foods. I give it to my kids too. I bet very low carb Vegetables would be fine... not sure. If you google eggs their loaded with tons of good stuff. As far as I can tell it seems to me the more you eat the more you lose?!! And TONS of water! GOOD LUCK!! |

PIKNIK and happyone, thank you for the info! I will definitely look into the Vitamineral Green. Sounds like a good product! I think I will try this fast for 1-2 days very soon.

Hi, Eggies.
Happyone, I agree that eating only eggs for a very long time doesn't sound ideal. Even the Inuit eat different kinds of sea animals including all the organs, and a few plants. I like staying between 20-30g/CHO/d. I try to keep a balance of carbs from herbs, cream, unsweetened coconut, and the occasional vegetable. (I like cream, but the unsw. coconut and plants have their benefits.) I think there is something about the eggs and the nausea. I ate ZC for a while and never felt nauseated. PIKNIK, hi, Lizzylou, egg yolks provide everything a "germ of a chick" needs to turn into a chicken. I think that's why egg yolks are so satiating and nice. Eggs are fetal meat (quote from Dr. Michael Eades' blog.) Some folks who eat almost only meat, meat fats, offals, eggs, and fish, do eat a few herbs or have some berries or lemons for Vitamin C. Folks on various carnivore forums discuss this a great deal. I see no reason to avoid something arbitrarily when I do special diet days. The purpose of the special diet is to improve my health. I try to do whatever seems to fit the best for me, not go along with someone else's made-up rules. If that means eating lemon juice, chives, green onions and other herbs with my eggs, it does. Hope this helps a bit. About elimination: depending on what type of diet someone is coming from to do the egg fast, some extra magnesium, more animal fat, and more water might be useful. Those eating a lot of fiber have large stools due to the bacteria increasing to digest the cellulose. People eating VLC/ZC diets have smaller stools and less frequently. The fiber causes bacteria to multiply and damage the health of the intestines. Both Dr. Harris and Dr. Dobromylskyj have addressed this on their blogs. Best wishes to all for happy egging. Read your comments. Wonderful losses. I have one question not addressed (that I noticed)...Don't want to get TMI, but this topic can have serious ramifications! ...what about gas? Has that been an issue?

Hi, KCG. I've never had a problem. I wonder if that depends on what else is inside, and what kind of bacteria a person has. From what I've read, it seems we all have different breeds of bacteria.
Best wishes to all for a very lovely day. |

Good to hear! I've always heard that eggs cause gas, and feared that the egg fast would multiply that problem. Planning to join you all for 3 days starting tomorrow to see what happens.

No gas here either! I'm glad I'm on Day 3, I'm really not feeling like eating anymore eggs.
I made two fried eggs for breakfast and so far I've only eaten one. Good luck Kitty, hope it goes well for you. |

Mean old scales,
hope tomorrow is better! I've only had 3 eggs so far, definitely losing my appetite... My scales were down to 165.8 today, so 2 lbs since Sunday, not massive but I'll take it and that the first time I've seen 165. |
