the KINDEST CUT OF ALL!!!

My podiatrist did a bit more scraping of THE SPOT last Wed. As a result, I am able to do some real walking now. Sat., I did an hours worth, and today I did a 6K walk..twice around the outer perimeter of Marine Park in Bklyn, AND with a minimum of discomfort. It is true...about 1/2 way thru the 2nd trip around, the endorphins kicked in. Although I had the energy to do more, I didn't want to overdo it. Next time, I will add a third trip around. i was off today, and better weather I could not have asked for. I did the walk w/o my jacket. I had no bkfst, because I was not hungry. (I hope u are sitting down Tony). I could not get to sleep before 3;00am. At 1:30am, I got the munchies, and there was nothing I could do about it except YIELD. I had a small bag of pork rinds which i used to scoop up my FRIENDSHIP whipped 1% cottage cheese. 12 gr for the entire container. YES!!! I ate the whole container!!! I enjoyed it. It was delicious, and washed it down alternating between water & flavored selzer (mandarin orange). I finally had my first meal of the day at BK this afternoon about 2PM-a triple whopper with cheese, no bun. i told them to put the ketchup and mayo on the side. Also, I had a large diet coke, which i could not even finish. My work is done. It is time to unwind. Wish everyone's day is great as well. FF

Morning All!

Just a quick check in from my Australian Vacation.

I am doing great! I am down a pound after 2 days and 100% on plan. It is so easy and enjoyable on plan here. I keep getting taken out to meals and ordering great LC food. Last night had amazing french food: steak and green beans, was beyond decadent.

Weighed in this morning down another pound and now I am down 9 pounds since I started March 7th. I feel great and have no desire to eat sugar right now! I am nearly in the 150s, it's been over 2 years since I was last there.

YAY! What a great feeling. I hope I can keep it up (my will right now is great, so I am not too worried), I will still be on here reading your motivating posts every couple of days though as they are a great boost and help.

Take care and it sounds like everyone is really doing so well!

Leftovers: SO MUCH BETTER THE SECOND TIME!!

OMG you guys...so I just have to share......Last night I made Jennyf's fiesta chicken that she shared with us last week and it was SOOOOO good!!! So, because I love to experiment.... tonight I took the left overs and with a suggestion from my hubby I did something a little different and it was AMAZING!!

Here's what I did....I make this "Baja" sauce thats a knock off from one of our favorite Mexican restaurants.....it's basically Guacamole made with cream cheese and salsa (I make my own salsa) and last night hubby said "you know this chicken is great...but it'd be even better with your baja sauce" So tonight, I took the left over chicken and diced it up, I sauteed some garlic in butter and tossed in the chicken to heat it up, then I added some more salsa and some baja sauce....stirred it to mix and let it simmer just enough to heat through then melted some more shredded cheese on top. I'm not very good at plating "pretty" food...it looked like creamy green chili but it TASTED AMAZING My hubby was blown away!!!

Next time I make it (cause I WILL make it again!) I'll add the baja sauce to the cheese when I stuff the breasts and bake it that way from the beginning.

I just love when an experiment works out....Jennyf THANKS for original recipe!!

We can do this! You all inspire me

Jenny, I never had success with shakes, bars, or too much cheese. Major stall issues and the bars and shakes triggered cravings. I do best sicking with plain, basic food made flavorful with herbs and spices.

Can I get a cheer from the crowd? I made it to Twoterville by 6 ounces. 299.4 on the scale this morning. Hoping to move deeper in this coming week.
So happy! It's been so long-at least 6 years.

Rainy day today - knee is hurting, but too much to do to let that slow me down. I took a pain pill, but now I'm fuzzy brained and light headed - don't think I should drive for a while

I'll check back later.
Hip hip horrayyyyyyy for you!! You GO girl!!! You get my vote!!

Yeah, I think you're right about the bars, shakes and cheese. I've been doing just that, which may explain my stall. I'm going to go back to the start and just do the Atkins without any processed foods to see if that makes a difference. I got on the scale this morning and I'm still only at a 3 pound loss a week and a half into my program - bummer. The thing is that I'm not eating nearly as much food as I did before beginning Atkins and my total calorie intake is at around 1500 calories per day (I did the math). I can cut out the shakes and bars, but giving up cheese is going to be hard. This diet is becoming too restrictive for me, but I'll give it another go... or I may switch to another type of low carb diet plan. My friend has had good success with the 17 Day diet.

ATKINS is supposed to be anything BUT restrictive, JennyFidei

I am doing Phase I, as paleo as i can get. He does allow u 4 oz of hard cheese a day...no more. It would be most advantageous for u to to re-read your ATKINS book, especially on the subject of Rules of Induction. I, myself, could not stay on a restrictive plan for more than 24 hours. I am doing 20 gr or less. I am enjoying every minute of it. I am not half as good a cook as u. So, if I may offer u this advice. Make it fun. That is how to stay on a lifetime plan...FOR LIFE. FF

Good morning everyone. I hope you are having a great Tuesday morning. I am down to 231 today which is my lowest weight - so I am very happy about that. I have lost 17.5 pounds since March 9 - but I can not tell a difference at all. How many pounds did you have to lose before you noticed a difference?

You don't need to cut out cheese, just limit the amount for a while and see waht happens.

Good job! Interesting question....some people notice after 10-15 pounds; it took me 30, but I'm a big, beautiful woman so it takes longer. 17.5 pounds in 35 days is 2 pounds a day! That's awesome!!!!!! Just keep at it - it will show.

the difference in myself, is not so much of appearance,

but a much improved feeling of well-being. I will probably be wearing the same size as now when I get to goal. But, i will feel like Super-Troll. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

ff, that amount of walking is amazing!!!...good for you...you're gonna start dropping your way quickly through 2dorland...and you may not notice the difference, but someone who hasn't seen you in a year would be in shock - 70+ lbs. is the equivalent of a small person!...

bec, that is awesome...can't believe that you are able to do so well when you are away - but i guess in reality you are HOME, so kudos to you!...keep it up!

tammy, that sounds sooooo yummy...i'll be right over for leftovers of the leftovers...lol...

brittany, i hope you hit your goal of 25 lbs. by the end of june, but just realize that is a very ambitious goal and don't get discouraged if you fall short...i have found it much easier to set and achieve shorter term, more modest goals near 1 to 2 lbs. a week and then let the longer term goals take care of themselves...the biggest key to this is not getting discouraged, and looking at the ultimate goal of achieving better health...you'll be fine!...

jennyf, if it feels too restrictive, it IS too restrictive...whatever you do, don't try to stick to something that will lead you to give up altogether...and short term diets may help you drop some lbs. quickly, but eventually you need to come up with a longer term woe that you can live with happily...one way to approach it is to take the way you were eating before you started this, and eliminate as many "bad" things as you think you can without feeling completely deprived...for me, it was breads, sugars, 99% of processed foods, and most starches...i found that left me a ton of stuff i could eat and did not feel restrictive at all...of course, for each person, that list would be different...we're here if you need help with this... :-)

"gladys" - a huge congratulations of losing 17.5 lbs...i'm wondering how you cannot notice a difference?...aren't your clothes fitting a little looser???...well, you're doin' great anyway!

hi marilee!... :-)

i ate a lot of meat last night - steak tips and marinated chicken on the grill - it was so juicy and tender and delicious, i had trouble stopping...thank goodness for the curfew - i think i'd still be eating!...

hanging in at 205, but planning a light night tonight after eating very little today:
b: 2 oz. grilled chicken
l: cheese stick
s: few pistachios
d: salad with grilled chicken or tuna

Hello everyone. Feeling a bit frustrated but sticking to plan so far. I lost 15.5 pounds during the first 5 weeks (feb. 11 through march 16) but stopped losing dead in my tracks since then. So, nearly a month with no loss at all. I had started eating dome Atkins bars and too much cheese, so I stopped the bars altogether and brought the cheesy deliciousness down for the past week but still no loss. Any ideas guys?

Your frustrated friend, donna

Vicki, I posted it here for you....

Donna, don't get too discouraged....we were just talking yesterday here about how sometimes our bodies just need time to calibrate and get used to the loss before we start losing again. Definitely set the bars aside and minimize the cheese as much as possible. Eat as clean as possible and drink TONS of water...you'll get there!!!

How's everyone else doing today??

Hi All...

Just back from a great session at Planet Fitness..30 min elliptical and 30 min weights...giving me great sense of calm! I will repeat tomorrow night because Thursday 8:15am I check into the O.R. God I hope my life doesn't change much after this surgery...........

2f2f - just keep your loss to yourself as your own secret and soon, veddy soon Grasshoppah, you will start getting compliments. Try and find acquaintances you haven't seen in a while, they'll notice it first. Then it will be an avalanche. If you have clothes in your closet that are a size smaller, start trying them on, you'll get a real boost even when things start to fit a little looser.

Brittany - booyah on the Bachlorette Pah-tay in Vegas!! You definitely want to get some hot outfits for the drunken limo rides!

I took a couple of big bags of my 1X, 18 & 20s clothing to a local women's domestic violence shelter. The lady there was happy to receive them. I can't believe how many freaking pairs of black trousers in 18, 18w, 20, 20w!!

Hi all to everyone...FF, it's all about the feeling of well-being. You are so right.
Nancy

Donna, hang in there. Some people on other threads have tried egg fasts. Who knows?

Thanks Tammy, looks good too.

I am hanging in there. Not totally LC yet, but transitioning better. At least my meals are LC for the most part. Unfortunately still eating some crap between.

Man, can you believe 8 pages of this blitz so far? What a fun and chatty group of blitzers!

damned if i do...and damned if i don't.

i went this a.m. to the coffee place in our facility to get a small decaf, to mix with the office coffee. so, i put in a little 1/2 & 1/2 (God forbid anyone should have heavy cream), and about an oz of French vanilla coffee, for the flavor, and then the remaining 99% decaf. BUT...there was NO decaf today. I take no responsibility. Better luck next time. Changing the subject, I decided that i was going to leave a little something to be eaten in the 1/2 hr before 9PM curfew begins. That did the trick. I was fine, and was able to get thru the remaining hours w/o a problem.so, that will be my modus operandi. I just polished off a hard boiled egg, which i quartered, dabbed each with mayo and black pepper (from the packet. i do not walk around town with a pepper mill, more's the pity). Let the world say what it will about me, the troll boils a damned good egg. (these are not even eggland eggs, but sweatshop eggs. But i turned them into a gourmet feast. no green about the yolk, and pealed like they were teflon.) FF

Down another 6 ounces! I'll take it.

Frankly, i hate small numbers when it comes to the weight loss game. When i lost my 1st lb, i told myself and others I burned 3,500 calories. Now I can say that I have burned (as of 4/7/11)255,500 calories (73 lbs). it makes me feel like i did something. FF

Good morning all. Up .5 from yesterday - who know I have been on plan. Maybe its the exercising - I think I should just stop that - lol.

Hope everyone has a great day.

why are fish thin? they eat fish!!!

that was seinfeld, not FF. But, whenever the cafeteria has fish that is not breaded, i grab it. It is almost always tilapia. they do it good here. it had a garnish of pepper and onions. I wonder if veggies, when they are cooked to the point of caramelization, are more carby than raw. No sugar was added. i wolfed down the approx 1/4 cup of veggies at once. i could easily eat an acre of similarly prepared veggies. I really want to do a walk this evening, but the weather sucks.I may have to go to that madhouse-Shoprite, and go up and down the aisles until i am ready to collapse. The main reason i went to the cafeteria was for the walk. I did not expect lightning to strike twice in a row. (re: yesterday's phenomenal baked chicken). Also the $$$ was right. I spent $5.00 for both lunches. They averaged out to $2.50 each. By tomorrow, i will be lusting after my tuna. soz
