2f2f way to girl!!!

Vicki I've missed you!! I totally understand the funk, I'm struggling a little to get back on track after the two weeks of moving and family visiting...but I will NOT give up!!!!! We're here for you...please stay with us!

Jennyf, don't be discouraged....everyone is different. A lot of people find that cheese stalls them and they lose more without it....have you had a lot of cheese? I for one steer clear of the Atkins bars and shakes, they don't do much for me. And I NEED to steer clear of the SF candies

Hi Tony, sorry I'm out of grapes...how about a hug?
You may be on to something there... I've been eating cheese, Atkins bars, and the shakes.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I think I just need to readjust and stick to 'clean eating' and cut out the processed foods, even if they are 'diet'. Tomorrow is a new day!

Too late to join?
I'm just back to LCF after a hiatus.
June 30 (actually the weekend before) is my 10-year college reunion. So it was already a certain "deadline" in my mind.

With eating low-carb, unprocessed foods, combined with yoga, hiking, and exercise in general, plus thrice-weekly injections of vitamin B, my goal is to lose 20lbs by the end of this Blitz. ! Super cute sundress, here I come! (I'm only going to weigh 2x/week. Mondays and Fridays.)

Hi Gleemonex! It's never too late to join. Best of luck to you!

Ate tuna and salads yesterday and have kept off the two pounds I dropped with the no salt day earlier in the week. Three more pounds and I will be back to where I was before the recent weight gain.

Welcome, gleemonex - the more the merrier!

Jenny, I never had success with shakes, bars, or too much cheese. Major stall issues and the bars and shakes triggered cravings. I do best sicking with plain, basic food made flavorful with herbs and spices.

Can I get a cheer from the crowd? I made it to Twoterville by 6 ounces. 299.4 on the scale this morning. Hoping to move deeper in this coming week.
So happy! It's been so long-at least 6 years.

Rainy day today - knee is hurting, but too much to do to let that slow me down. I took a pain pill, but now I'm fuzzy brained and light headed - don't think I should drive for a while

I'll check back later.

YAHOOO!!!!!! Marilee, you made it.

gleem, welcome. I know what it is like to try and lose weight for a special occasion. I am getting married Aug. 7 and have gained back close to 30 lbs from my previous goal of 170 and need to kick butt. But, when I was maintaining at my goal wt. I began that journey without a date in mind and looked at it as a WOE instead of a DIET.

well, gibby baby...u not only joined me in 2-DORVILLE

BUT... u beat me by 0.4 lbs. u make sure to let EVERYONE...HEWMON OR NOT, know of your accomplishments. I think there are a few people on Papua/New Guinea that still don't know about us. I was able to get an hour's walk in today w/o noticeable foot pain. I will try for another after the opera broadcast; Rossini's LE COMPTE ORY, a sparkling comedy. This is the 1st season THE MET has ever done it. check out wqxr.org to play it on your computer LIVE. a seat there will cost u an arm and a lobe as we say back home on FERENGHINAR. it starts at 1PM EDT. Enjoy this day. u certainly earned it. FF

MARILEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!...congratulations!!!!!!!...you DID IT!!!...i'm sooooo proud of you!

after this month, you and ff will never see three-derhaven again!...you guys rock!

WELCOME glee!...happy to have you with us...it's never too late to join here!...

abi, good for you, girl...way to stop a slip from becoming a fall...i'm proud of you!

new jenny, you'll find what your sensitive to and be able to cut it out...that's the good thing about daily weigh-ins - you definitely can see the effect of the choices you make IN REAL TIME...a tweak here and there and you'll be fine...remember, don't expect huge losses...on a normal LC diet 1/2-2 lbs. a week is healthy and closer to the 1/2 is not at all unusual...

brittany, i have a weakness for many things, including salsa and chips...if you really crave them and have to have them, get the whole grain type and limit yourself to a only few chips...i have trouble with limits so i have to keep them out of the house... :-)

vicki, you're gonna be a beautiful bride...we want pics!!!...

i weighed in at 204 again yesterday, but keep fluctuating between 204 and 205...gonna have to have a few near-fast days this coming week to shake things up...too much good, on-plan food around the house right now, but i'm not sweating it...

so, my doc was very proud of me and said the change in my appearance was dramatic...my blood sugar control is good - A1C was 6 - and my triglycerides are great - 73, but my cholesterol is still high: overall is 223 hdl=44 and ldl=164...

my bp has been low when i take it at home, but i have "whitecoat syndrome" so it goes up at her office, so it was high there, so no reduction in meds, which is a bummer...

anyway, that's my last visit for awhile, and things keep improving, so i'm happy with that...i'm hoping once i get to goal, i will improve enough to reduce the meds...

Morning All!!!

Just flew home and wide awake and its before 7am on a sunday morning so I have no one to phone yet!

I had a great flight home. Didn't eat any plane food. Not one bite. I told them not to serve me. Instead I packed a big bag of celery and snowpeas and 2 quest bars and 70g of unsalted mixed nuts and I guzzled the still water.

I feel so great for it!!!

My mum is being really supportive and was shocked when she saw me as she could really notice the weight loss (I've lost 10 pounds since I saw her last in February).

So just wanted to check in and tell you so far so good on the holiday front. Will be checking in from time to time to keep the motivation up.

Congrats on the big loss Marilee!! You must be thrilled. Enjoy and use it to spur you on!

Is there room for another AZ gal?

Looks like there are quite a few of us from the "Grand Canyon State" so I sure hope you have room for one more! I really need to be accountable so that I can't make allowances and excuses!

I am recomitting to the Low Carb WOE and not a moment too soon! My Sweetie and I both LOVE food way too much and we have been packing on the pounds to prove it.

You seem to be a very encouraging group here and that is exactly what I am looking for!

Welcome bink and gleem and others who have recently joined!

Tony, thanks for the compliment. When the wedding happens, I will be sure to post some pics.

Glad your trip went well bec. What the heck airlines did you fly that food was even an option? Most flights that I am on last under 4 hrs and they only serve drinks for free. Meals can cost $10 or so.

Discouraged!

Weighed in today....Down a whole .39 lbs. I am feeling very discouraged. I have really recomitted to the LC WOE and have felt really good about turning down PIZZA, CAKE, TORTILLAS, POPCORN, BEANS, BEER, DIET SODA (thie list goes on and on). I was down 2 more pounds on Friday but my official weigh in is on Sundays because of a weight loss competition. I have been in strong ketosis for the last 3 weeks and I have been doing Flow Yoga 3 times a week. I sweat my but off in those classes. When I lost my first 60 pounds two years ago the weight just fell off of me and now after gaining 13 pounds back and getting back on the wagon, I can't seem to win.

It is so hard for me to keep the faith when the scale is so slow.... I want results.

Hey all,

Brittany - you just gots to keep with your plan girl, and up your water intake! I have had so many stubborn weeks too arghh where you just can't figure out what the heck is going on when the scale doesn't budge. Knock off stuff like cheese and cold cuts, eat as clean as you can!

Marilee, congrats!!! You and FF have departed the 3s, this is great news!! So take the 90's decade and kill it!!

Vicki, wow, you've done more in a day than I do in a month!! What a nice head start for Spring! Good calorie burn...when it comes to chores, I have ADD...

Bec - good discipline on the long plane flight, did you keep everyone awake with crunching on the celery?

Hope everyone is having a pleasant Sunday!

welcome BINKAMOM!!!

of course there is room for u...especially since all of us Blitzers are taking up less space than before. Brittany, this is a lifetime plan, NOT a 7 day plan. Regardless of whichever weight loss plan u choose, expect what i call NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED WEEKS. Stay on plan, make your food choices as interesting as possible, do as much physical activity as u can, and then look back a year from now, and u will say:WOW, LOOK WHAT I HAVE ACCOMPLISHED. This attitude took me over 40 years to develop. Learn from my experience. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

Got more good news on the scale this morning! Down 1.4 pounds to 298. I'm excited!

Vicki-wow girlfriend! You sure got a lot done around the house! Hey-I enjoyed our conversation Saturday....

Stay strong everyone! Need to get some of Vicki's inspiration and get somethings done. I've been lazy today.

hey guys, having some computer troubles so i'm hit or miss - sorry...

tammy, good to see ya, girl...

bec, i'm vey impressed by your plane willpower :-) happy you made it home safely...say hi to your mom for me...

vicki, great day of activity, and that really helps jumpstart your metabolism...

bink, welcome - we're happy to have another AZ girl...ff, spelled out most of the rules, but he forgot one: no tanlines... ;-)

brittany, i'm with ff on the advice...getting discouraged is the easiest way to get derailed...this is a long, slow process and remember that the real goal is better health and working out like you are and eating better, are making you healthier...as you gain muscle, you gain weight but also improve your calorie-burning machine and ultimately that will lead to weight loss if you stick with your plan... 1/2 to 2 lbs. a week is the target - more is a bonus!...

hey nancy, you're gonna beat me to 1derland, girl...i've eaten too much this weekend and salt yesterday and the scale lept to 208 this morning - haven't been that heavy in a few weeks...wow!...

so, today i have almost fasted and it's almost curfew time - all i've eaten all day is 1/2 clementine and 2 donut holes (YES I KNOW, but i hadn't eaten anything and my wife handed me the box - bad excuse, huh?)...so, i'm gonna drink a couple of big glasses of water before bed, and hope i can flush some of the salt out of my system...

Have you tried experimenting with Linda Sue's recipes for pizza, cake etc.? Or here in the recipe section? That might help get you through so you don't eat the real thing. I don't know of any substitution for beer though

Gibby, Congrats on the way down the scale.

Yes, I have been spring cleaning. Now I am ready to de-clutter again. My house has been a mess and cluttered due to a bathroom remodel. I am getting claustrophobic with all of the crap around.

Good morning!

Weighed in and the scale is up a bit - still under 300, but only by 2 ounces. I'm not concerned-the usuwal up and down thing it does to make me mad

Just a reminder, if you are interested, my sister Barb Jones, RN is going to be on The Doctors today, on and off during the whole show. At the end she sits in the audience and they ask her questions.

Good morning all!

Ok...it's Monday....life is back to normal now!!! Moving? DONE! In-Laws visit? DONE! Constant eating out and bending the rules because of the previous two items? DONE!

You know, I was wondering.....do you think our bodies take time to "Re-calibrate" our settings as we lose this weight? I was thinking about Marilee's program and how she loses a bunch and then has to stop to spend time in maintenance to prepare for another round of losing....do you think maybe that our bodies automatically do that and maybe that's why we seem to lose in spurts and then plateau?? Well whatever it is I'm ready for another big losing spurt! I haven't gained any in the past few weeks, but I haven't lost either....although my clothes do seem to be fitting better.....I was looking in the mirror this morning before leaving for work and was quite pleased to notice my curves seem to be curvier in the right places and not so much in the wrong places!

Brittany, don't be discouraged....you'll get there!!!

Vicki, awesome job on the spring cleaning...want to come to my house?

Marilee you're doing so great....don't even sweat those few ounces, just keep doing what you're doing!

Tony.....all you had yesterday was half a clementine and 2 donut holes??? I'm quite certain that those 2 donut holes will do you no harm!

Welcome Binkamom....we're getting quite the AZ contingent going here!

How was everyone's weekend?

Congratulations Gibby on the loss! WTG

I am up 1.5 pounds from Friday, but I thought it would be more with the Hot Wing Festival and beer. Plus I had a piece of Low Carb Cheese Cake from the Cheese Cake Factory. So I will take it with a smile.

I'm on day 5 of the Shred - it is not getting easier - but I know it will soon enough. 25 days till I measure.

Hope everyone has a very happy Monday!

marilee, i'm betting you don't have much of an appetite today...don't fret too much about the century mark...it usually takes a week or more to get under a goal # and stay under it - even when staying on plan...

tammy, there is no doubt in my mind that our bodies lose and then plateau - i've read a lot about it...i have also found having a couple of days where i increase my caloric intake, followed by 3-4 where i cut them quite a bit, leads to a predictable net loss...you're gonna be fine! :-)

"gladys", hot wings are usually salty and that often causes me to gain water weight too...drink some extra water, and it should flush away...

hi vicki!...bet your bathroom is lookin' good...did you say there is a jacuzzi in there?...

well, my near-fast yesterday helped me drop back down to 205 this morning...have hardly eaten anything today as well...thinking my fri-sat of overeating may have tricked my body - at least i hope so! :-)

i've had a handful of olives for breakfast and a few pistachios for lunch...gonna try to keep it under 1000 calories again today...i need to get tough to get to 1derland this month, which i am shooting for!

Actually, I'm real hungry and I'm going to eat all 500 calories that I'm permitted today!

I believe in maintaining a substantial loss for a while. That's one thing I learned from this plan. Our bodies need time to recuperate and develop a new set point, at least IMHO.
