tony...i just may take u up on that offer.

i will bring the food. it would have to be a weekend daytime game. sometime around September would be ideal. I have not been to Yankee stadium since 1977; the house that RUTH built.
well, I am pleased to say that I got thru the weekend in fine fettle. It is so do-able to make little changes as we go along. The stair climbing, which is a reaction to the sluggish scale is something i find quite odious and abhorrent. I can be heard grunting and cussing up each step. BUT... I can deal with it for a week. I also did some walking yesterday about 2 miles worth (with some pain). I will have the podiatrist have another look at the post surgical "bump" that is causing all the problems. Also, i will be totally sodium free through Thursday afternoon.(i.e. no bacon, sausage, or porkrinds to risk water retention. Soon, the weather will be more favorable to being OUTSIDE the house after work. Rainy weekend days i will go to The Met Museum, and such places. Non-rainy days to the Beach. Barring any unforessen problems, the weight should fall off a little faster from mid-May through October. Well, It's work time. Talk to y'all later. FF

WOE: LC my way, low dairy
Happy Monday all, and welcome to all the new folks, YAY! It's a private and personal journey that we're on, but being part of this Blitz group can really carry you through the good times and bad times! Some of you gals have some super huge events in your near future (weddings, reunions, etc.) so let's get rockin' and stay the course!

I briefly hit the 50 lb. loss yesterday morning, but had corned beef for dinner and today I'm up 2.5! Drat, so I'll pound down the water and hit the plan hard!

Perfected my Daikon Radish Hashbrown recipe yesterday! Grated the radish on side of grater with oval openings. Into the colandar w/kosher salt, and weighted down to drain out the excess moisture (1 hr). Rinsed in water. Pressed out the excess water. Sauteed some onions first, then piled in the radish to make a nice layer...let it cook til it browns, turn it, brown it some more.

Abigale - nice doggie in your avi! And another NH gal, yay! I have a 10 yr. old yellow Lab Ozzie, and a English field spaniel, Carni.

Marilee, looking forward to hearing you hoot n' holler for Twoderland!

Bec - Great start! My hubby is a Brit, my in-laws live in Esher, Beckenham & Bromley, our number plates on our cars are SOD-OFF and BOLL-X....

FF - good job on your weekend and stick with sodium-free this week!

Hi Tony, now you and FF have quite the harem here, ha ha!

Have a good one everybody!
Nancy

LOL, you're right nancy!...it was all part of our grand plan from day one...right, ff?...

and it only took us a year to gather all you beautiful women - we had projected 18 months!... ;-)

hello old friends!

hi everyone,
so good to see you are all still here - tony, vicki, ff, marilee, gibby - and great to see new people too! sdounds like everyone is doing well and still trekking the LC path. congrats.

i am doing well myself with my (basically) LC life. i've had a few moments, but for the most part am avoiding the cars that wreak havoc in my mind, body, and spirit! i have incorporated some fruit and am losing the last few pounds very slowly, but perhaps it's for the best. when i got down to a very low weight before, i felt weaker and i would like to get pregnant again, so it might be good to stay a little "bigger" for now.

anyhow, great to see that y'all are doing well.
much love,

Good morning!

Hi "Lovelife"....so nice to hear from you! Please stop my more often.

I have moved into virgin territory!!!!! Down 2.2 pounds since yesterday for a new weight of 302.2....haven't been that low in over 5 years (probably more than that, but not sure!). Anywho.....have submitted my request for citizenship in Twoterville and expect it any day now.

TTYL!

Thanks FF, I'm now on my 3rd bottle of 20oz water so I am sipping away!
Forgot to mention, one must use a vegetable peeler on the daikon radish.
I KNEW the corned beef was going to do me in!! Grrrr!!

A new day!

Good morning & happy Monday everyone!

I just now jumped on the scale, and after two full days on the Atkins Induction (phase I), I'm down 3 pounds already! I know it's probably allot of water weight, but hey.. it's still a loss! So far it hasn't been all that bad either. I'm really not hungry as the meals are filling and the side effects have been minimal thus far.

Tonight I give another try at making stuffed Mexican chicken! Will post my findings here.

I hope that you all are having a blessed Monday.

Happy Monday Everyone!

After 3 tries at making shirataki noodles taste good I finally found a quick and easy way to eat them. I just cooked up a pack for lunch and after dry frying them for about 10 minutes I added 2 eggs and some soy sauce and hot chili sauce. And that was it!! I am sure you could go ahead and add vegetables but I was in a quick and lazy mood. I was seriously impressed. The eggs held the noodles together and it tasted very yum and was so easy to do and had virtually no carbs at all. Just wanted to share in case any of your enjoy them.

Congrats on the loss Jenny keep up the great work!

I've heard of these noodles but have never tried them. Where do you buy yours from? Your recipe sound good and I might have to give it a try!

Hi Jenny - I buy them from a Japanese grocery store but in the US it's way easier to find them. Maybe look on some of the food posts to find out where you can get them.

Hey Nancy! She is a nice doggie. Bama (for Alabama -Roll Tide) is a 2 1/2 year old female. She is still very much a puppy so don't leave your shoes around or anything else you value. I'm sure Ozzie and Carni are very well behaved!

Found a new salad dressing at Hannaford's by the packs of lettuce the other day. It's called Just Add Lettuce and they have 3 different kinds. I like the Greek which has olive oil, feta cheese, Kalamata olives red onions and seasonings like oregano, dill and mint. they say they are the first 3-D salad dressing. 3 carbs and 70 calories per oz. I really like it.

i just love sharing my lunch hour with y'all.

i was gonna have tuna salad, but the cafeteria had tilapia with pieces of pepper and onion as garni. It was mildly tangy. That is how i prefer it. But tonight i am turning on the heat. JennieFidei, I have every confidence your stuffed mexican chicken will be "muy sabroso", just don't use authentic mexican water in the cooking process. One can take authenticity too far.!!! No 2f2f, you really had a FUN weekend!

Aw, don't say it was horrible! Sounds like a blast!

So here are some ideas for damage control next time:
Scrape the topping off the pizza and throw the crust away! People do it all the time. Just say "I hate pizza crust!" Skate some more!

Knock off the beer but if you have to, learn to love the low carb stuff like Amstel Light! Go for low-carb cocktails like diet tonic w/vodka or gin....

Cake ... well, just try to say no or ask for a sliver, have a taste and toss the rest. Alcohol can deteriorate one's will power so no beer, then cake!

OK, so today is Monday, get back on the horse. You'll whittle away the 5 lbs...keep your eye on the prize!!

What's done is done... put it behind you and move forward. Today is a brand new day. Take a long walk and a bubble bath. Do something nice for yourself and then dive into your favorite LC recipes and make yourself a fabulous meal to remind yourself how do-able this lifestyle really is. Let's face it, we live in the real world and have to deal with the the occasional birthday party or gathering, where there is lots of food and drink around. It happens, but the important thing is not beat ourselves up. It's easy to be good in a 'perfect world'... but none of us live there! Congratulate yourself for all you have accomplished thus far!

Blessings to you,
Jenny

FF those are very sage words, I love that!!!!

I agree with what everyone else said....don't beat yourself up...learn fom it and keep moving on. This is NOT a race, it's a journey. We ALL slip up....read some of the old posts....you'll see just how often some of us slip up! The key is we keep getting back up and moving forward towards our goal!

Jenny thanks for the compliment on my siggy...I helps remind me of who I am!

You boys are so funny with your "Harem" talk!

Bec, I love the idea of the Shirataki noodles....going to have to try that one too....love having all of these foodies in our group!!!

Nancy, I agree with FF....you earned the 50 pounds, that corned beef just gave you a sodium boost....you'll be fine!

Marilee.....I thought I heard your scream all the way across town! Way to go girl you are absolutely kicking bootie with those drops!!!

Well, I'd better get back to work...just popped in to say hello, Have a fabulous day everyone!

wow, some of you have really big overall losses in this group! It is encouraging to see that.

I lost 8 pounds in the first 5 days. I went off on Saturday night (planned) but the damage wasn't too bad. I'm still down 7 pounds for the first week.

If I could even just maintain that this week that would be great!

I am a stay at home mom to two young children, ages 3 and 4. It is a little hard to prepare things for the rest of the family that I can't eat, but I'm getting used to it.

Hi Guys!

I have two new quick and easy recipes that I eat. These are my favourites and they take no time (I don't measure, I like just feeling it in the kitchen, go with what works)

My number one favorite meal: sautee some onion then cook some ground beef. Once cooked add some spinach and then crack 1 or 2 eggs and stir until cooked. Top with parmesan cheese! I feel so full after this and there are almost no carbs!

2nd Favorite: Take a chicken breast and cut through the middle (but like a book not all the way through) put tablespoon on cream cheese and then wrap with pancetta and bake in the oven for 20 mins.

The reasons that I like these recipes is that they are moderate fat/moderate protein and super low carb and they are so filling and easy.

Give the beef one a try, you won't regret it

OH! In the interest of full disclosure I broke my 9pm curfew. Had a friend over and we ate some SF Jello at around 10pm. Oops what do you do. Could've been worse but will aim to not do that again. Was kind of pointless.

I've already had someone on the other thread ask if they could move in with me! haha!

Oh forgot to mention in the recipe that I sauteed the onions, ortega and cliantro in a bit of oil before stuffing the chicken with it and the pepper jack cheese. I put plenty of spice into it as well so it had some bite, but you can modify it any way you want.

Bon Appetite!
