as the salesman from Seaman's furniture said:

SOFA, SO GOOD. I bought a SINGLE order this time, of roast chicken. And it was good.
the skin was nice and crisp. i got a scoop of tuna for wed and thurs bkst. I also got a little onion and green pepper to be sauted along with the celery root tonight. To go with that is my meatloaf. That there is any left is quite miraculous. i hope i like it(the celery root that is). almost anything fried is USUALLY yummy. FF

my body just reacts terribly to carbs these days...it's probably an insulin rush, but i just feel so crappy when i eat more than my usual level of carbs...it's awful - i feel sluggish, almost like i've been drugged...that got me back on the horse in a hurry!...

abi, happy to hear you are feeling better...your menu looks good for today...

ff, those all sound like wonderful, sensible choices...sofa so good for me today too:
b: 3 oz. steak tips
l: 3 oz. sliced turkey breast
s: 5 almonds
d: going out - i'm thinking broiled haddock :-)

FF, what do you fry the celery root in? Olive oil, butter, lard? I love fried food but haven't had any in years.

Tony, I am glad I feel good today. Usually I have a cast iron stomach and nothing bothers me. But every now and then - ick.
Your menu for today sounds like good clean eating.

Driving to Keene tomorrow to try to find some shoes that will go with " the dress".

Hope you all have a good evening!

Morning all,

Abi - hope you find your shoes at your first store and that they are comfy!
Marilee- all righty, you're back on zee dlops today, yah? You go girl!
Tony - yup, the carb stuff drags me down too.
FF - good job on your food choices!
Everyone else - hope y'all are doing well!

Well, it's Wednesday and I got on the scale and I'm happy, it's 200...and I'm working hard this week to be on plan and exercise after last weekend's wedding eating & drinking! Things I DIDN'T EAT AT THE WEDDING: crackers, potato salad, rigatoni pasta, rolls ...so as I reflect, I did pretty good. It's all about choices and knowing what to avoid.

My weight is down .5 since last Thursday so I will take that as a WIN! Sofa so good!

Now the calendar is clear ahead and I have to set a good goal for July 10 is coming up (my one year anniversary of this WOE)... that's 3 1/2 weeks away so I should "strive for 5" by then!! If I get to 194, then it would be a nice round numbah: 60.

Getting ready for a long lunchtime walk and then another after work!

B: Eggbeater omelet w/spinach and goat cheese
S: A few blueberries & strawberries
L: Salad from home w/ 3oz roast chicken breast
D: A chopped up red pepper, 3 oz chicken breast and some hummus...

In my heart, I was with Shackleford, but I was afraid he would fade in the longer distance of the Belmont and be unable to lead wire-to-wire like he did in the Preakness -- and that's exactly what happened. So I picked Animal Kingdom instead, after much debate because I was also impressed with Nehru and Nehru had placed on a sloppy track before. But Animal Kingdom stumbled coming out of the gate and I knew he was done right then. The winner was a longshot that no one picked, even though he was the only horse in the race that had won on a muddy track. Ah, well. Until that last 1/8 mile, it looked like Shackleford might come through again -- and then the whole lineup changed and the race turned upside down. It was very exciting.

Abigale, thanks for the Jack Kruse link. Very interesting ideas. Gotta say, though, as a professional writer and editor, I think that boy needs an editor.

LFNH, great job on all the walking. I'm trying to lengthen mine now that warm weather is here. Nice to be outside, isn't it?

Nancy, wishing you the best to get to 194 by July 10th. I know you can do it. Great on the .5 in the last week. I did find some shoes at the first store. They have a low cork wedge heal (no 4 inch spikes for me!) and are a covered in a natural colored linen with a sort of bow on the top and open toe. They are very comfortable and were on sale to boot!

Tony, that curfew for 5 days a week was so sensible. It really is the moderation we do that seems to work over the months.

I am here but posting on a hHCG thread. I am starting this and going to try and really give it the ole try.

Even though today is a load day, prior to today I have been way off any resemblance of a low carb plan. I feel absolutely fat, bloated and miserable. Thoroughly disgusted with myself. My thighs feel like huge blobs of fat slapping against each other. The frustrating thing is, just a mere year and a half ago I was between 165-170. I am afraid to get on the scale after the load days. I expect 210 to be glaring me in the face.

Just checking in--went camping with a group of friends over the weekend and did well except for the last afternoon/evening of the day we came home ate some of my daughters french fries and also had potato chips when "breaking camp" I am good for so long and then get tired and "break"--I've noticed this behaviour before in these situations.

My weight is bouncing all over the place but I'm definitely not losing--trying like crazy not to gain anything substantial and wrap my head around getting back into the weightloss mode.

I exercised today and ate well so that's something.

I'll try and post more often.

i did almost no exercise the past 7 days.

also, my calories were way high. i will be happy if i stayed the same at weigh-in high noon today. if i am so much as 1 fraction of a lb in either direction, that will most certainly be acceptable. In a word, anything the scale says, will be just fine and dandy, today, 'Cause Sat is the BIG DAY-fitness spa registration day. I hope it will the beginnng of a beautiful friendship between my brain and my body. VEGAS awaits. FF

Hey everyone! Today is the last full day of our vacation. We leave tomorrow. Has been great and believe me, there has has been food galore available of every sweet and delectable kind. BUT I have been very good and the only thing I have had of the carby kind was the four or five small bites of cheesecake, a few extra bites of whip cream, a small bite of fried fish and a small bite of fried scallops. That is it the whole week so I do not feel bad at all. Plus we have walked tons and tons, along the beach, up the light houses, up the sand dunes, the condo, swimming, etc. Surely those carbs from that first day are long gone. In any event, no scale so will have to wait until I get back to see if any weight gained or lost. Hope you all are having a great week. Just checking in and keeping accountable, but no real time to post to everyone. Will do that later.

Ok, you asked for it! Yesterday I had:

B- bacon and eggs
L-hamburger (with bun), cheese, green chilis, all the fixins with catsup and ONION RINGS THE WHOLE FREAKING BASKET - I thought I'd died and gone to heaven - with ranch dipping sauce
D-ICE CREAM

Today:

B-bacon, 2 doughnuts - 1 raspberry filled and one custard filled with chocolate icing (I'm stuffed)
L-probably a chicken leg (drumstick and thigh) because I won't be very hungry
D-at a friends - lasagne, salad and garlic bread

But, never fear - tomorrow the 500 calorie a day no fat diet starts!

to answer the question; in what do i fry my celery root...

the answer is: grapeseed oil...high in omega 3s, and a higher smoking point than many oils...but i read in wikipedia not the highest...but good enough for my needs. I use grapeseed oil for everything cooked in my saute pan, sometimes adding butter toward the end for extra flavor...if i remember. FF

FF, sorry you weren't feeling well the other day but glad you made the most of your day off with watching a movie. Super that the shorts are fitting more loosely now. I'll take inches off over weight loss any day! Grapeseed oil - I've heard of it. Does it have a particular taste?

Marilee, I'm here for the duration! Need the support that I get here too.

ncgirl, I know you hate to see this vacation week come to an end. All the swimming and hiking - I'm sure you are going to see a drop on the scale. How is your son's leg feeling now?

Jenny, I don't think afew chips probably hurt you. Keep checking in with us and you will start to see some results on the scale.

Tony, how did your day go? Good we hope.

I ate some cheese today, two salads, some bacon, a little leftover pork, coffee with cream and coconut oil. My two brothers came for coffee early today to Mom's. They were all excited about the Bruins winning the Stanley Cup. My sister and I took Mom to the hairdressers and then I had the afternoon off. Time off seems to fly by and now thinking of hitting the hay early.

Have a good night everyone!

hey guys, i had a good day but i'm salted from the party and leftovers and am retaining fluid...i've been up a few pounds all week...tomorrow is weigh-in and i'm betting i'll be up 2-3 lbs...not gonna let it frustrate me though...one day at a time...

i'm happy to hear you guys are sticking around...there have been a few times over the past 15 months where we were down to just ff and me posting regularly, and on some weekends before ff got home internet, i'd be talking to myself...so this current group is a genuine crowd... :-) i'm not goin' anywhere...

jenny, i can relate to what you're going through (of course!)...i really think you might benefit from trying to post here more often...if nothing else, you're among people who understand, and even when you're struggling, you feel more accountable...and you know we never judge in here...not to mention how much i love it when you are around... :-)

hi abi, that sounds like a good menu today...thanks for asking about my day!...it was a beauty in nh today, wasn't it?

marilee, thanks for the menu - i enjoyed eating all that stuff vicariously through you!...lol...

ncgirl, nice job behaving so well on that trip!...i'm betting you are down 2-3 lbs. when you get on the scale...

ff, stop talking about donuts!...lol

Boy Gibby, you were very conservative on your load days. I don't want to show you what I ate. But, burgers and fries were included in both days as many ice cream sandwiches and chips. I know I am retaining a ton of water. I also was wayyyyy off plan even before loading. My weight this morning is in my stats and I am very ashamed. My top weight 2 years ago was 230. I have just about successfully regained all of that weight. I am surprised that my fiance' is still around.

Hi folks, Happy Friday!

NCGirl - aw, lousy when vacations end, eh? But congrats to you and your resolve to walkin' the line with your food and exercise!

FF- it is just as good to feel clothing fit better, even if the scale doesn't show it. So tomorrow you start at the gym, and I hope you really really enjoy it.

Tony - these parties, oh boy, just a trainwreck waiting to happen, huh? My hubby had some buddies stay with us this week, and I came home Wed evening after art class -- they had got meat for the grill plus supermarket coleslaw and potato salad..I totally caved when I saw the potato salad, grabbed a big spoon and made many visits to it!!! I insisted the guys take it with them when they drove out yesterday morning!! GOTS TO KEEP THIS CRAP out of the house!!!!!

Marilee -- ooo wow a fun loading session but now you are on your course, so you stick with it and we await your news of success!! You go girl!

Vicki - I used to feel ashamed like that alot, and it just sucks, it is a dark bad place to be...and we have all been there! Yesterday was yesterday, today is a new day...just give it a good try and point yourself forward again, ok?

Abi - you are eating well, good for you! Have fun at your party!!

B: HB egg & some sauteed spinach, glob of avocado (I found pre-packaged single serving guacamole dip packets at Sam's Club)
L; salad from home, 3 oz chicken in it,
D: not sure yet, we are going to a benefit for the Animal Rescue League of NH at an art gallery in Manchvegas tonight...appetizers from T-Bones and beverages from Martignetti's so, I will steer through the "minefield"

Good morning and happy Friday to my fellow workers!!!!

Well, loading is fun, but it does take a toll. We are told that we will gain anywhere from 4-6 pounds on load days (it comes off by day 5 of the low cal/carb portion), and I did. My new weight is in my stats - back to over 300 but I know what it's from so I'm not worried. Reality starts today. Here is my exciting menu:

B-coffee with a smidegeon of cream (not permitted but I allow myself a little cream because I HATE black coffee)
L-3 oz chicken breast - no skin and no visible fat; 2 cups raw cucumber; 1 apple and 1 melba toast
D-3 oz turkey burger with mustard; 2 cups raw tomatoes; 1 apple and 1 melba toast

WATER, WATER, WATER!!!!!

Vicki - it's a new day!!!!! You are on track.

Tony - drink lots of water today and some acv and you'll get rid of that excess water weight quickly (I know you know this, but I had to give you my input )

LiveFree - you are such an encouragement to all of us....I so appreciate all of your posts!

Abi and Jen - love you guys! You also are an encouragement with your posts. We love to hear from you!

I'd better get to work. I'll try and sneak back in later!

ff-you are too funny!

Anyone else I missed - I'm sorry!!! I'm hurrying.....I love our group.

FF, I am excited for you starting at the spa tomorrow. Great to be at a temperature controlled space where it doen't matter if it is 90 degrees out and pouring down rain. You can still keep those muscles moving and get healthier by the week!

Vicki and Marilee, wishing you much success on the next leg of the hcg journey. Marilee, even your scaled back low cal meals sound delicious!

Nancy, thanks for the best wishes at the reunion. Actually I am dreading it. When you haven't seen people for years and they are not recognizable, and you aren't recognizable and you don't know if you have anything in common to chit chat about it is down right intimidating. I will have my 2 glasses of red wine so maybe that will loosen me up a little. They will all be my best buddies by the end of cocktail time! lol

Jenny, keep coming by even if it is just to say hi everyday. Just doing that will help keep you motivated or to get back on the horse before too much damage is done. We miss you when you are not around!

So far I was scrounging in frig and freezer for something I wouldn't have to spend alot of time fixing to eat. Found a cube steak with onions and peppers I had cooked afew weeks ago for dinner and then something better had come alone. It was already cooked and only had to thaw it and warm it up. Boy, I like meals like that. Also have had coffee and two oz of horseradish cheese and two strips of bacon.

Talk to you all later!
