i'm with ya, brother...i was raised catholic, but have not been affiliated with any organized religion for decades...i respect all faiths and all good people...i feel most spiritual when i'm out in nature - sitting by an ocean or a mountain, etc...

had a good day yesterday...am down to 206 this morning...i'm headed in the right direction...having dinner tonight with the in-laws, and i have no idea what i'm making for dinner tomorrow with my kids all home for the holiday...

next week, the weather is supposed to be yucky, but we're gonna look for some sunny windows to get out on the golf course...i really would like to hit 1derland in may, but apparently so far, i have not wanted it badly enough :-)

ff - It was finally dry this morning so I could walk for an hour outside. The sun was actually shining for a bit, but now it is cloudy and in the mid 40's, WTH? Who would think that the calendar says April?

OK, so far today, so good. I made several desserts for tomorrow too. Brownies, cherry dessert and a lemon ricotta pie for me :-)

b-green smoothie, veggies, protein powder, almond milk.

L - chicken brat, sauteed jicama, green onion, garlic, and mushrooms and salad with fishoil and lime jc.

s - eating out, but probably a salad with protein or something like that.

OK, I made it today without crap, finally. I had a Subway Club salad for supper. Celery with pnut butter, almonds and a protein bar for snacks. I snacked a bit too much, but at least I didn't have any carby stuff.

I'm still here reading posts almost daily. Just not having any success at the moment so no words of wisdom. I did manage to get through Lent without getting back into the nuts but it didn't help losing the extra pounds I have gained. I
am cooking a ham today for a big crowd of family. Just know it won't be a lowcal/low carb day. I am looking foreward to Monday to get off to a good start.

Happy Easter to those that celebrate and a wonderful day to all!

Hey Vicki, Tony and Tammy! Thanks for the kind words. All I have to say is I am so glad the feeding frenzy is over today! I did pretty well but the rest of the family has got to feel drugged from carb overload.

VICTORY-DELICIOUSLY & DELIGHTFULLY EXHAUSTED!!!

no, i did not do the steps yesterday. i fell asleep listening to music. when i woke up, i was a zombie (about 10 PM). i still have that coffee. i did not fall asleep till after 2 AM. But, from the VEGAS DINER,this afternoon, I made it as far as the SHOPRITE supermarket (almost 90 minutes on foot away). I had a small iced coffee, then did the aisles. However, I DID have to take car servicehome, just a few blocks away. I also did a some walking in Manhattan before my friend showed up. I may even postpone the steak till tomorrow after work. I will decide at 730pm. I must confess that I hate climbing stairs for the sake of doing exercise. I was NOT desperate enough to do it. It is something I resort to with the greatest reluctance, when the scale god is stingy. I will be back later to tell u what I had at the diner, AND the temptations I faced down. FF

as if the Latin Mass was not wonderful enough....

my transportation pulled up outside, just as we were coming out(of church), and whisked us to the VEGAS Diner in Bklyn. I always order the complete dinner. But, I did not want to walk the food in the hot sun. So, I got the a la carte dinner. Soup OR salad.(no appetizer, or dessert) I got the chicken soup w/o noodles. I also picked out all the carrots.(sigh, i luv carrots, but too carby at this juncture). Then, the waiter brought the best part(easy there, troll)the chrome dish filled with celery, carrots, radishes and Greek olives, and crunchy crispy pickles. Another platter came out with sliced pickled beets, chick peas, cole slaw, and something else which i forgot. i took 1 tsp of coleslaw, and 1 thin slice of beet for the color. He also brought the bread basket (which did not intimidate me at all) Sometimes, it is more difficult to deal with things of which i can have a little, than of things which i have chosen to do w/o. I had the Norwegian salmon. As veggie carbs add up fairly quickly, i got the sweet potato (which i gave to my friend), and string beans which i ate..with some butter on top. At the end of the meal, even though it was not part of my dinner, the waiter gave me another potato, which i gave to my friend. For dessert, my friend, who got the complete dinner, got butter pecan ice cream. The waiter (although dessert was not part of the a la carte dinner)brought me a scoop as well (which i gave my friend). He took home both taters and 1/2 his dinner. He got the roast loin of pork with stuffing- huge portion. If it had been pistachio ice cream, i might have caved. It just started now to rain and thunder. I finally had time on my side. I really enjoyed the mass in Latin. It was a wonderful choir, and the organ blew me away. I would have to spend thousands on audio equipment to duplicate the experience. Alltogether. quite a great day. Oh, for dinner, i had the 2 pieces of gefilte fish with 1/2 tsp horseradish-a neglible snack; total 100 calories, and under 3 net gr carbs. I will finish off the evening with 2 thin slices of muenster cheese (if necessary), and my FAYGO chocolate soda before 9pm curfew time. And, I am sure that Abigale will get her mojo back tomorrow a.m.Goodnight, HEWMON BLITZERS FF

Hi everyone - Happy Easter to those celebrating. It is a favorite day of mine.

Sorry I've been MIA - I'm doing fine - up a pound over my window, but not concerned - probably water weight. Last week was stressful in everyway imaginable, and I just wasn't in a chatty mood.

Vicki called me a little while ago and said "your isolating", which I'm not. So, I re-assured her and thought I'd better check in with my cyber friends.

So happy for you Tony! I can't wait for my family and friends to notice a difference. When you are as big as I am, it takes more than 33 pounds for it to show.

Welcome back abi.......

Have a wonderful evening.

Marilee we've missed you!!!!!! I'm sorry you've been so stressed, but we love you and are glad you're here!!!

The prime rib was wonderful.....I had some potatoes au gratin as well.....normally I wouldn't but it was the first time we'd been invited to this couples home for dinner and they worked very hard to put out a wonderful spread, so I did not want to be rude. All in all it was a wonderful meal and I thoroughly enjoyed every morsel.

I hope everyone else has had a wonderful day and is ready for Monday!

Morning all,
I sense a collective Blizters "climb on back the wagon" mode today, eh?

At least for me!! I hit a low of 200 on Saturday morning, but between Sat night and yesterday, I went off the reservation bigtime with lots of wine, 1/2 sweet potato, and Easter dessert was a huge piece of apple pie with hard sauce, I was in heaven. I will totally buckle down this week, you betcha!!!

Tammy, sounds like yum dinner and potatoes au gratin, ah, how lovely!. I think that wit holiday meals are so few and far between, what the heck, it's good to push the boat out.

Marilee, hope things are geting better, hate to hear of anyone being stressed out.

Tony - nice that the rels noticed a difference!

FF - wow, a 90 minute walk, good job! I love your food descriptions.

Hi Abigale, Hi Vicki et all....today is a new day!!

Hi Guys! Sorry I haven't check in as of late.. I have been quite stressed this past week..I was up and down with BP problems.
Was in the ER Thursday for about 5 hours BP way high. Hope things settle down..this is new for me.

I dont want to be scared off LC..cause I know it works, if I can just stick to it. But the whole BP thing is kinda scary!

You all seem well...have a great day.

sticking with lc and lowering the sodium...

will certainly improve the BP. Increasing potassium in the foods you eat will help as well. Best of luck. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

Hi, all! Hope your spring holidays went well. I made it through Lent without chocolate. (Note to self: NEVER give up chocolate for Lent again. Are you crazy?!?) Now I am contemplating going out and seeing if there is any half-price sugar-free Easter stuff left in the stores to pillage. Don't usually go for the artificial stuff but I have a perverse fascination with biting the ears off Easter bunnies.

I've held onto my April losses, which pleases me. May have new ones to announce by the start of May. (I like to hang onto losses for at least 2 weeks before announcing them to make sure they're going to stay.) Weather has been great so I've been able to get outside every day.

well, if i did my math right, LCS (i did it in my head)

u are down 122 lbs. Wonderful, just wonderful. I have some periods when I can deal responsibly with lc choc, and other times, when i have to stay away. These are, for me,lately, the stay away times. However FAYGO choc soda DOES fulfill the need, and w/o calories, carbs. or caffeine. Sometimes IT works, and works well. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

not to mention the veggies keeping him company. I am saving a FAYGO soda for later with some FAGE. A great way to deal with Monday. FF

Thanks, FF! I took to making my own LC chocolate in order to use natural ingredients but I haven't yet figured out how to make it in the shape of bunnies. And there's something just addictive about biting off those little ears. I haven't heard of Faygo choc soda. I'll have to scout our local groceries to see if it exists here.
