Hi!
Wild weekend! Storm never happened on Saturday so we went to the gala! He wore a tux and I wore a black dress. We had so much fun and stayed overnight at the Marriott (1.5 hr away). Came home yesterday and slept. We went out to a local place for the superbowl but came home at halftime. Both of us were exhausted.

Im glad J feels better Rachel! When are the braces going on? That was painful from what I recall with lex

Lynn and Nancy- Hi! nancy- hows the college thing going? We are still waiting for one response. She got a scholarship offer on Thursday for 33K a yr from Providence! Im very proud of her! I do notice that she is getting nervous and especially witchy...very unlike her.

Brennie- do you have cabin fever? I do!

Normal week at work. Going away this weekend for his birthday and valentines day
Lex turns 18 next week....sigh

My dad is going into the hospital today. He has another infection and will have part of his big toe amputated. He just can't seem to get over this hump. It's one infection after another. Our family could use your prayers

Lots and lots of prayers and good thoughts for Lynn's dad. Lots of hugs for Lynn. We will be thinking of you and your family.

Colleen, Jenn hasn't heard from anywhere yet. She didn't do any rolling admissions or early applications so it should be the end of March before she hears anything at all. It is a huge source of anxiety for her....and for me. Most of her applications were Los Angeles area, so her approximate location is fairly certain, but she did applications to UCLA, USC and several small private schools so it could be a very different place....That is a great scholarship offer for Lex. Wasn't that her first choice school?

Brennie, I stopped doing Bar and joined a gym with Jennie. We work out together almost every day. We did one intense class on Friday, though, and I have bad tendonitis in my elbow. I miss bar!!!! My son said I was a stud for having tendonitis and that the football players call it a purple heart injury since it meant I worked out that hard!! LOL. I just wish it would feel better!!! As for Ryen and the bus....ugh for Mondays!!!

Rachel, you will have to post a braces picture for us when the big day comes...and stock up on soup, yogurt, ice cream.....I remember my children were a little excited...before the reality sunk in. At least she is doing it at the typical age and will have lots of company.

Hi everyone,

Jaeme will get her braces on in about six weeks, after her teeth have come in to the spaces that were created when her teeth were pulled. I hope it's not painful to have the braces put on...that would be horrible.

Colleen, that's wonderful news about the scholarship.

Brennie, does Ryen have braces yet? Will she need them? Jaeme said 13/16 kids in her class have them or are getting them before the end of the year.

Lynn, so sorry to hear about your dad. Many hugs to you and your family.

Nancy, That is great that you and Jenn are working out together! How is DS? I really don't mind driving her, she likes to take the bus and it does make my morning easier but it is nice to drive her...those days will be gone so quick I want to enjoy them while I still have them ; )

Rachel, she doesn't have them yet. We went last year and they wanted to wait a year so we need to go back soon. Her teeth are straight so if she does get them it is just to correct an overbite. A lot of her friends have them or are getting them.

I am still on the mental case diet. My weight has stayed on the low end from stress.

I am on hold from Bar Method because Jenn asked me to join a gym with her so we each did a 6 month membership at a beautiful gym next door to Bar. We do a class together most every day. We have been doing gravity class (strange machine thingy!!) and we did zumba yesterday. That was hysterical!!

Good morning....horrible ice covered roads here this morning, yuck. My new tires worked great, though. Only slid once.

I am eating a meditterean style diet...fruits, veggies, protein, dairy, nuts, olive oil, dark chocolate, gluten free grains....it's amazing to me that I can eat like this and maintain. I am also doing light cardio and light weights about four times a week, sometimes five if I have the extra time. I am wearing my size 7 Candie's jeans today....these are my "goal" jeans...if they ever get tight, I will change something up. For now, they fit perfectly.

Nancy, your classes with Jenn sound like fun! I think that's a great way for the two of you to have some quality time together while reducing stress....my mom and I did a lot of yoga together back in the day when things were bad with her and my dad, and I felt like it really helped.

Got to rush off....I am late because of the bad drive and have an all day meeting.

I find one egg, 3 slices of bacon and a high fiber english muffin holds me until dinner!
Its cold but they say warm weather is coming finally! We might hit 50 next week so Im getting the bikini ready

Work has been a blur all week. So much to do and so many meetings
I closed my door yesterday at 5 and put my head on my desk
Remember nap time? I want that! Im going to get a mat and see if I can get away with it

Doing a half day on Friday
We are headed to Atlantic City! Dinner at Carmines at 9 and dancing after at the clubs. Saturday we are doing a Valentines Get Away package at another place closer to home. His birthday is Sunday and I still dont have a gift. I wanted to pay for the weekend but he refused

Rachel- what are you getting him for V-day? Im a big believer in traditional silly things. I dont think its xmas in February! Im thinking candy, flowers, a letter from the heart and something else....just cant think of what

Rachel, is Jaeme still doing gymnastics? Ryen wants to go back but she can't because of her leg, they ended up putting her on complete rest from sports and she has to wear a boot for a few weeks. By the time it is better (or hopefully better) it will be softball season and she will have to make a choice.

I had a great time at dinner last night but felt so sick when I went to bed and woke up coughing and choking with horrible acid in my throat...it was so strange. I didn't get sick but I almost wish I could have. Not quite sure how I am feeling yet today but making Ryen's lunch was not easy

My dad's surgery went very well yesterday. He had the top (down to the knuckle) on both big toes removed yesterday. It looks like they got all of the infection in both bones.
I got home late last night so I'm going to go into work an hour later today.

Nancy, I'm sorry he poofed. Unfortunately, I think that's common behavior in dating men, even the ones who have talked seriously about things like moving, having a life together, and so on. I hope you will continue to just date several men for fun right now.

Brennie, we were going to put her back into gymnastics after she decided to stop piano, but we haven't had time. Seriously, I'd rather wait until the weather is warmer. I really don't want to be out driving around at night when the weather is bad.

Colleen, I'm still trying to figure it out! I was thinking a mushy card and a box of silly chocolates or something. He's coming over on Monday night, and Jaeme and I are cooking him dinner, so that's kind of his present!

Well, CTB (college Texas boy) reappeared late last night. We usually chat about 4 or 5 times/day. I hadn't heard from him for a day and a half and had left a couple of messages. He called at 10 and was chatting away and then said good night. I asked him what was up. He said he had no idea what I meant. I discussed the chronology and he said really he had just been really busy and was very apologetic. He called again this morning at 6:30. A couple of years before I married STBX I had a time when I was talking to CTB again. He was in Texas then and headed overseas and invited me to vacation with him there. I accepted the offer and thought that it would be great to finally know if there was something more than a friendship there. The next week he made a couple of excuses and I let it go. When he and I did get together a few months ago I asked what happened all those years ago. He said he was afraid and bailed out but he is older and wiser now. His behavior over the past couple of days made me wonder. Bear in mind, he is 53 and never married. There has to be a reason.

Nancy, Steve is 44 and has never been married. I think he was really immature when he was younger....and then he got serious about his career in his late 30's. Now his career is in order, he's got a nice house, and etc. He started dating with the intention of having a long term relationship because he felt like something important was missing from his life. I don't think there's necessarily something wrong with a guy in his 40's or 50's who has never been married....however.....it all depends on the guy.

Colleen, ugh, five days in court sounds horrid.
