Drinking Water actually works. Who knew?

I started drinking 64 oz's of waste while at work starting last Monday. I came home on Monday down 1lb, Tuesday down 2, Wednesday 1, Thursday 2 Friday 0. The only thing I did different was drink more water. By the way, I hate water, but if it works... My wife bought me this great water jug at Target that holds 54oz's and has a cooling element that you freeze every night. I put 1 32oz bottle in before I go to work and another 1 in before lunch. And throw in a few lemon wedges.

I need to do this, am really bad about drinking water - seems like I'm not very thirsty. I do like to add lemon also.

I do whatever it takes to get that clear stuff down. Whether I force myself or trick myself or bribe myself, I get it down!!! Then I'm a pound down the next day. It's worth it.

good for you Jambabob!!!

although i like water very much, i love it more in the hot weather. i try to get in 2 litres (or liters) a day, but I often barely make 1 liter. It does nothing to assuage MY appetite. I do it because i am supposed to do it. But, I will keep u in mind and strive to drink more. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

I love lemon water too. I carry a big insulated mug that holds over fifty ounces. It stays icy for over twenty-four hours. It is always attached to my hand! LOL People laugh about my big blue mug! It's huge!

Another thing I just forgot about and over the weekend realized I needed more water to support this WOE. Now hot water during the day (seriously, it's -20F here) and a glass of cold water next to the computer so I'm set for however I feel. Goal for this week will be no less than 2 litres of water each day. Plain, simple, clean, clear water.

Okay--but does that mean pure water or any liquid? I'm freezing now--water is the last thing I really want but like you said, I think it's one of the keys to weight loss. Advice on diet sodas or tea/coffee please. Will they work?

Could someone explain why drinking more water is so helpful to drop weight? I have heard this so much, but I don't really understand the mechanism.

I too am an avid water drinker (100+oz a day) and although I make a point of getting most of my water drank in its purest form, I do typically include 12-20oz of herbal tea into that number. I only use a little davinci's to sweeten it, nothing else.

I drink about 2 liters a day but I put individual Crystal Lite packets in each. My favorite is the Orange because it tastes a lot like orange juice.

I fill up 5 liter bottles a day, i always have one on me, and I challenge myself to drink at least 4 a day. I used to never drink water, and only drink diet coke. However, now that I am drinking so much water, since stopping coke, I never got a headache or even miss/crave it.

I have been told water helps you lose weight because it helps your body run more effciently (sp?) Also it helps flush out toxins and maybe some fat? I dunno about you, but I am all for being healthy, and flushing out toxins, thats enough to make me drink it.

Years ago a doctor my husband and I were going to for weight loss, which incidentlly was low carb, told us to be sure to drink plenty of water. He told us that your body's organs need fluid to function. If you don't take in enough it will hold on to what it has. So to release fluid you must replenish what it has.

I kind of ignore that for awhile, but then one week decided to put it to the test. Drank lots of water and dropped 7#. This was after lc-ing for awhile. He also was against taking water pills, saying it was far better to drink enough water to keep things moving.

I NEED one of those bottles! I'm so bad about it. I try, but I know I do NOT drink 64oz a day. Just last night I got some of those crystal lite packets and I'm having some now, yay! It's the apple flavor. Before, I didn't really care about juice, but I think I miss it a little. Usually we have the peach tea flavor in a pitcher in the fridge, but I was craving juice. I also got the white grape flavor but I think I watered that one down too much last night. lol

So do you think that drinking water with the crystal lite is as effective as plain water? I hope so!
