Hey Misty, he said that to me too It's nice not being new anymore.

It's 5:20 AM and I just fed my 4-legged critters, have my coffee and thought I'd stop in for a "quickie".

Got on the scale this moring to some more good news - more weight lost for a total of 8.9 since I started last Friday. Very happy.

I'll check in later, but I'm going to drink my coffee, have my morning prayer time, etc. but I woke up around 2:00 this morning excited with the wonderful feeling that, "hey, I just may be able to succeed this time!".

I admit, I do love a great pub... as well as fish and chips (with mushy peas), salt and vinegar. Unfortunately I don't think you could get a less low-carb friendly meal - well done on eating your way around it, LIVE_FREE_NH !

It's never too late, HarlandsHollowFarms ! Good luck with your 20lbs target, and post often !

Quite pleased this morning as I did manage to motivate myself to go to the gym. It was really busy due to all of the 'new year resolution' folk getting in the way . Decided to go right back to the beginning of C25K (I'd got as far as week 4 previously) due to slacking for about 4 weeks over Christmas and New Year.

I can only describe the colour of my face once I had finished my workout as 'puce'.

I'm going out for a few drinks and a curry tonight - I'll stick with red wine, and have some sort of tandoori dish with green salad. It'll be a high calorie day, but I should be within my carb limit of 20g net.

Have a great day, fellow Blitzers.

And, kbeth, where aaaaaaaaarrrrrre you?

[QUOTE=misty1028;14243460]Goodmorning everyone, got to the gym early because another snow storm coming my way. So I forsee added exercise in the form of shoveling.

Misty my sister's name is Misty also. You hardly ever hear that name. Though her's is nickname for Mary. Anywho....I am almost 2 pounds total this week to 179.8 which basically is what I weighed before Christmas and TOM. So I don't consider it a loss overall but I'll take it. Hope everyone is doing well with their own personal goals!

take what you can get :-)

ncgirl, getting back to where you were, pre-holiday, is a big accomplishment...if you're anything like me, the holidays would always be a time when i would pack on several pounds, and those would stay with me for years...in fact, i think i just lost the weight i gained at christmas, 1996...so you are doing GREAT!...

clanger, good job getting to the gym...you're revving up your metabolism and that's always a good thing...enjoy the curry and wine!

marilee, i am soooo happy for you!...you are killing this blitz!!!...way to go!

i really have only had one GREAT day recently - yesterday...the rest have been just okay, but for some strange reason, i am being rewarded...it's not official and doesn't count and i'm sure i must be dehydrated or something, but the scale said 207 this morning...that's 2 lbs. lighter than yesterday and 6 lbs. lighter than thursday...

it does make me feel good and like i have a shot at my weekly goal of 208 by next friday...this is all virgin territory for me...

but it's also making me wonder about the acv, and if it might be helping in some way, as it is the only new thing i've changed in the past few days...i haven't gotten around to taking the three doses a day - it was 2 on thursday, 1 on friday and 1 on saturday - and whether it is acting as a diuretic or it's just a coincidence, something positive has been happening lately...

Tony, so happy to see the scale went down for you! As you know, acv is diuretic so that may be part of the reason.

well you just inspired me Tony--I'm going to try the ACV--wow 6lbs!

Where I live you can buy the noodles at Whole Foods (they aren't that expensive though unlike everything else) and I have also bought them at an asian grocery store. They have a strange/strong smell when you open the package, but you rinse them in warm water and it goes away--it has to do with the way they are made. They do not have any strong or unpleasant flavor and are very much like noodles in a soup, texture wise. Plus the calories are very low... I like them alot.

billy...great to have you with us!...

jenny, i'm thinking along the same lines as marilee - that the acv is acting as a diuretic...i had a few salty days at the beginning of the week, so some of what i had gained through thursday was almost certainly water...the acv may have helped me get rid of that and then a bit more...even if it's just that, i'm not gonna complain...i don't feel dehydrated at all...

i'll be interested to hear if you see any effects from the acv...i've been just adding a bit of water and shooting it - horrible - but better than a long slow sip i can't be bothered to add sweeteners and treat it like a regular drink - mostly because i don't want it messing with the enamel on my teeth...let me know how you do!...

HAHA!! 50,000 calories..I had someone say I had ALOT of energy to me today. Losing weight has made me feel 110x better!!

Today at I weighed in at 154.2.

I had a GREAT LC day today My weekend job is BORING and I'm a boredum eater...cravings struck..I resisted. Tomorrow I'm anticipating another round of boredum cravings. What helped me the most is I put what I was craving into the journal where I log my food and starred at the calories and carbs...they were mean looking!! I thought about how much I was saving myself and how awesome I'm going to look in a bikini this summer in Pensacola

Sat/Sun tend to be my off days as far as exercise goes but I did a little cardio this afternoon--I'm addicted :O to cardio workouts.

ate a bit more than i should have tonight, but not off-plan...i seem to do okay if i vary my caloric intake - a couple days of maintenance cals+ and then a couple of days of very low cal...seems to trick my body...and i'm all about tricking my body! :-)

hope everyone is having a great saturday...

i just had a thought!...clanger is fast asleep right now... :-)

Varying my caloric intake "tricks" my body too..it's kinda strange..but it WORKS! My metabolism doesn't seem to suffer either One day I'll eat 500 cals then the next I may get 1200. Still losing weight

Quite a few people seem to recommend that approach - it's good to know that you're having success with it! Especially since I munched and swigged my way through about 2,500 calories yesterday, what with my drinks and meal out . Back to normal today - though alcohol gives me killer cravings for sweet food the following day.

WooHoo....I jumped om the scales this morning and I am down 5 lbs.since I started on the 6th...I really do not care if it is just water weight , it really gives me motivation!

Alice, I would love to be down 40 lbs, by August also.....I could be wearing my semi-skinny jeans by the time we head to Sturgis also, I would look so much better in a tank top then I did last year!

It is snowing, and I have to go back to work tomorrow, so staying on the plan should be easier. I work outside and rarely get a break, when I do I am more interested in smoking then eating! I know another bad habit to quit, but that is another day.

I have been packing hard boiled eggs and Baby Belle cheese for quick snacks on the job. I make sure I always have an omelet before work for energy because the cold will totally drain you if you do not eat.

again - what a difference a day makes

jana, i wonder if it would work if i tried tricking your body just teasing!

marilee, you rock!!!...your progress is amazing and inspirational...

clanger, you understand that for the body trickery to work you have to virtually fast today, right?

alice!...great to have you with us...and a biker chick as well, huh?...cool...been to sturgis, but in a 31-ft RV, which i'm betting is nowhere near as much fun as the bike rally

farmgirl (i feel weird calling you "harlan"), congrats on the 5 lbs....doesn't matter what it is, you were carrying it around a week ago!...

luckily, i didn't throw out any clothes yesterday when i hit 207, cuz i'm back up to 210 this morning... it's just the way it goes - the high end keeps getting lower and the low end keeps getting lower, so all is well in my see-saw world!

Well finally after staying on plan and getting all my water in I'm down 1 whole lb this morning. And I'm happy to see the scale move.

clanger wtg on getting back to the gym, I just restarted last week, took the holidays off. I don't go on the weekends because it's too crowded, but go M-F. Hope you had a great time last nite. After drinking alcholol I just plain want to eat anything. We have parties all summer because I live on a lake and that's how I gained again. Got to have a better plan this summer

tony ss the scale went up a bit. I yo yo to and then finally the lower number sticks. I'm going to try the ACV tomorrow for a week and see what happens. I'll let you know.

ncgirl37 back to your preholiday weight is great, now your on you way down.

Alice

be back to finish catching up. Got to get my turkey breast in the oven. Yummo

congrats, misty...you're another step closer to your goal! :-)

thanks for the support, guys...

after over 9 months of these blitzes, and doing daily weigh-ins for many months now, i fully expect the scale to move up and down ...now, i understand that's how it works - that wasn't the case in the past - if i happened to weigh-in on a day that my weight was up, i'd get discouraged, and sometimes even enough to give up...but not this time...actually, that's one of the reasons i weigh in daily...i used to hate the idea, but now i know there is no way i would have done this well without daily weigh-ins...
:-)

hey, i tried something today that i thought i'd share (although maybe you already do this on your own)...i was having a small amount of chicken chili for breakfast, and normally i would just wolf it down in about 45-seconds...there were only several spoonfuls...but anyway, today i decided to take more time, so i savored every bite and chewed each mouthful much longer than i usually do...i think it took me about 6 minutes to finish it...and then a drank a big glass of water...

i was surprised by two things: 1) how much more i enjoyed the flavor of the food, and how much more satisfying the whole eating experience was, and 2) how much more full and satisfied i felt when i was finished...this was more than two hours ago and i am still very, very full...

on top of that, i KNOW chewing food more thoroughly aids in digestion, so that is an added benefit...it got me thinking that i should make an effort to do this with everything i eat, so i am gonna do that...i am POSITIVE that taking more time will lead me to eating less...and i keep looking for small, easy changes to help me in this quest :-)

How fun to read through these posts. We've got some great energy in this here group!

I've been pretty wishy-washy with my WOE for the past 4-5 months. (Wishy-washy is a character defect that I despise and I am working on in all areas of life.)
Anywho, issues with meds and a good bout of depression that followed it has put me to an all-time high weight. I am darn close to where I was when I gave birth 4 years ago.

I hated having to type this...I don't want anybody to feel as tho they have to reply "that's okay, you can do it this time". I, too, am tired of me not being able to keep a commitment. So, I'm going to just start up again...give support and share victories big and small. Do me a favor and pretend I've been here all along, okay??

Tony, I also took a hint from our fearless leader, ff (especially since I'm eating so little right now) and cut up my food into tiny pieces and am eating slowly. It seems to be working in several areas - makes it look like I have more food than I actually do; am enjoying the flavor and texture; am filling up faster.

I actually had a pretty good day today - knee pain isn't as bad so I wasn't limping around as usual. I hope it continues!

Have a great evening everyone!

Well, just got back in from cross country skiing (with my 6 year old) which adds a whole new element to the experience. I didn't eat much today and got a ton of exercise and am going to try and make it through the evening without eating much more in hopes of dropping a few pounds tomorrow. I ate apple cider vinegar on my salad last night but haven't shot any yet. Can't quite bring myself to do it tonight, but will try tomorrow morning.

Good to hear everyone doing so well--I'm fairly back on track myself although I did have some wine last night...
