Well had the flu for a few days but better now. You'd think I'd be rewarded from being sick by lossing a lb but NO and I didn't eat much. But maybe a nice whoosh in a few days. But made it back to the gym today. Only missed one day this week. But no gym on the weekends.

tony are they saying snow for you tonight. We supposed to get about 7 inches. So I'll be getting sum extra exercise in by shoveling

ff first post I saw was about your wonderful steak, now I want steak instead the meatloaf I'm making today.

i ate too much steak last night...on second thought, is there such a thing as "too much steak"?

misty, i don't think we are supposed to get any real snow until friday night into saturday - maybe just some light snow tomorrow...i shoveled for 1 1/2 hours after that last storm, but it was light and fluffy and only about 8 inches...guess i burned a few cals though...

Thanks you guys! You CAN do anything if you set your mind to it...I'm sure we can all testify to that. Weight loss is no easy task, but LC makes it fun and this board keeps us accountable.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "TOO MUCH STEAK"

Also, fried chicken IS a health food, if it is coated with pork rinds. Lat night I had some transportation issues which ALMOST left me stranded. By the time i finished my business, i was not so much hungry, as angry. I bought a grilled chicken Caesar salad (which i am having for lunch today), and 3-get this- 3 double quarter pounders with cheese (no buns, no ketchup). Expecting that I would be trapped in my apartment again due to snow, i also bought 4...that's right- 4 orders of sliced roast pork. Well, as soon as I got home I consumed the McDs. Within 30 minutes of that, i ate 1 order of the pork. It was terrible. No flavor whatsoever. it was like sitting at Trelayne's table. I threw out the other 3 before i left the house this a.m. as it happens, it LOOKS as if there will be little accumulation. I would like to get out of the house this weekend. I had 35.5 WW points left, so I know i did not do too much damage quantity wise. Happily, i am not hungry now. I will be doing water, green tea, and 1 coffee until my Grilled chicken Caesar lunch at 1 pm. I can always have 2 T cream cheese or 1 or 2 oz of Kraft extra sharp cheddar, if i really need to at my 10:15 a.m. break. I am glad that I did not turn to the dark side in my anger. FF

hey ff, good job NOT going off the deep end when you were upset - i'm sure that represents a huge change from what would have happened in the same situation a year ago...enjoy the salad, bro...

jana, i can't imagine, with your energy, that you aren't metabolizing at least 50,000 calories a day... :-)

today is new official weigh-in day...1'm still feeling 213-214...we'll see...had a lot of red meat the past couple of days and i usually am heavier for a few days after that...

i'll be back...

Morning all........heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerre's my results:

Thanksgiving morning: 225
Last Monday 1/3 and joining this Blitz: 230.5 nice holiday gain
This morning: 227
Down 3.5! Yay!

This train is back on the tracks

My body is probably in "re-start mode" and I'm sure if I stay on plan, it will settle in to more modest losses and plateaus. But I am pleased with my effort this week. And I'm geared to stay the course over the weekend, that's why I like the Friday weigh-in. You folks in this Blitz group make me feel part of a small community, and y'all have been in my thoughts this week. It has really helped me a lot.

Misty, they say 3 to 6" of snow in NH area, what a guesser our local TV weatherman is. Hope is is light and fluffy stuff so that your sweet Golden and my sweet yellow Lab, black Lab and spaniel mix have some Saturday fun in the snow.

FF: Don't get ticked off and eat in retaliation. That's another one of my downfalls!! Easy to say, hard to do, I know. I'm preaching to the choir.

Stay the course, everyone!

Goodmorning everyone, got to the gym early because another snow storm coming my way. So I forsee added exercise in the form of shoveling.

ff glad you stayed on track. I like you news about not much snow for you, we're getting alot again, but if your in need of some I'll send it your way I'm already getting sick of it.

Live Free I'm prepared for the snow, because I agree the weathermen just guess. Our news says in the Birkshires a snow warning 6-8 and the newspaper says over a foot. I guess I just wait and see. Oh ya my dog loves playing in the snow. But he's smart enough to know he can't walk on the lake without me. But goes nuts because he wants to go over to the people ice fishing. Wtg on you weight loss. Almost down to pre holiday gain. Wish I'd start see some, but it'll come.

tony good luck with your weigh in.

it is not the snow itself, that i mind.

it is getting about in it, or rather not being able to get about in it. The danger of not being able to get to work, or worse, not being able to get home. However, i will not let anything deter me from goal, or going off plan. FF

I don't know about you, but I used to fear falling in the snow (and falling in general) to a much greater extent when I was 50lbs heavier than I do now. I don't know if that's down to the embarrassment factor, or a genuine fear of being hurt.

Hope your weigh in goes well, tony8!

i actually forgot about food until 1:00pm

it was a crazy and hectic day (and not good crazy either). However circumstances compelled me to climb stairs from the 1st to the 3rd floors, twice. I enjoyed my grilled chicken Caesar salad, but left over some of the iceberg lettuce, and carrot peelings. Maybe some Kraft extra sharp cheddar at breaktime (3:15pm), as I may not get home till later than usual owing to the snow. FF

Misty - looks like snow 5-8" coming your way in Berkshires, 2-4" for us in NH, maybe.

Chant here: Tony - TONY - TONY....howdjudo??

Hey all, I went to Planet Fitness last night with hubbie, he and I did side-by-side elliptical (just 30 min total, I did 15 min ellip & 15 min treadmill) as Thursday night is our night out. Got heart rate up and maintained a good fat burn rate (i.e. a good sweat). We have a nice treadmill at home but I am trying to get him back on board.

Then we went to our local after, where I had baked haddock (with seasoned bread crumbs scraped off to the side and left alone!) with grilled veg & water, while he had calzone & two beers. Go figure.

Idea

I had an idea - let me know what you think....

The last day of the month we all post an entry saying how much we lost that month and then I (or someone) will total them all up and enter a grand total lost for the Blitz IV Gang!

At the end of the year we could see that we lost a whole bunch of weight!

I think it would be kind of neat to see that.

Gibby...sounds like a great idea.

i have always given my end of month totals (usually at the very next weigh-in at the beginning of the following month). I actually did an add'l stair climbing since i posted at 2:37pm EST. What is wrong with me? Just finished my 2 oz cheese which i promised myself. I have 2 oz left. So, back it goes in the fridge, before I weaken. FF

I know - you are so good about that. But, not everyone does. I think we will be amazed at what we have accomplished as a group.

ff, are you on Atkins or WW or a combo or something else I haven't figured out Just curious.

what a difference a day makes...

marilee, that's a great idea...might keep a wayward child like me in line ;-) i'd hate for you to have to subtract a gain from what the rest of you lose!...

ff, great job on the stairs!...think of what that would have done to you a year ago!...

nancy, thanks for the encouragement!...so, where did you eat the baked haddock?...

well, i weighed in and i cannot explain it, but i lost 1 lb. for the week, and hit my weekly goal of 209!...i haven't weighed 209 for at least 17 years...how i am 4 lbs. lighter today than i was yesterday, i can't tell ya...i climbed on and off the digital scale at least 10 times to make sure it was right...

i am very pleased right now, and happy that my patience is paying off...even though i had a few bad nights this week, i didn't let it get out of hand, and i compensated during the day and on the other nights...i have learned so much during these blitzes...a 1/2 pound to 1 lb. per week loss is the pace that seems to work best for me...

10 lbs. from 1derland!...i'll check back later tonight...have a party to attend tonight but i'm not worried...

I think it's a great idea, Gibby, as long as you don't mind me adding mine on at the end of the Blitz, as I'm an infrequent weigher (about once every 3 months... it's for my own good, otherwise I become obsessed ).

Woot , and and ! Fantastic achievement, tony8, you should be rightly proud of yourself. Wonderful news !

Today has been good food-wise: a protein shake for brekkie, roast ham for lunch (albeit with a honey and ginger glaze, but there was hardly any of it on so I counted it as 5g carb) and one and a half pork chops with some buttered cauliflower and green beans. And they call this a diet !

Loaded up the ipod tonight with some fresh music, so I must get off my lardy arse in the morning and go to the gym.

All right, last post for the day..

CONGRATS Tony, see I knew you could do it!

We were at Carriage Town Grill last night, in Kingston at Rt 125 and 107. Also like Telly's in Epping..both do a decent baked haddock and nice grilled veg...and sometimes I get another side of steamed broc. The 111 Village Square does a great Cobb Salad w/grilled chicken and also a great spinach salad that you can get grilled chick or shrimp on...that's basically my local rotation. The fish and chips was at the Coat of Arms in Portsmouth, the British style pub. Deadly. Clanger would love that place.

Marilee, your new avatar is great, you are pretty lady! and your idea is great. Let's do. I can't wait to report a new decade by Jan. 31.

Clanger, good on your daily intake! Stay the course 'cuz I know you'll be getting an invite to William & Kate's wedding and you'll want to look good.

FF - ah, you're doin' good today and pressin on. You have your nice steak ahead of you tomorrow night, it will all be worth it. Ahhhhh.

Rest of ya, take care....

Hi, is it to late to join your Blitz?

I am new here, and really need encouragement, I just started Adkins yesterday! I lost 40 lbs. about 10 years ago on it, but I got married and went back to some bad habits.

As I am typing this my husband is making himself fudge brownies....it is a really good thing I am not a big desert person and I know I am cooking shrimp stirfiy for dinner!

Anyway, my name is Laura and I would like to drop 20 lbs. in the next 3 months....my ultimate goal is 60 lbs.

I've been doing well today--had some chix broth with "tofu noodles",veggies and shrimp (here's a link if anyone is wondering what I'm talking about) Tofu Shirataki (Low Carb Pasta) by House Foods I ate this soup for like three seperate meals in the last two days--it's low calorie and very yummy. I also had some seared ahi tuna and kimchee (pickled cabbage), been on kind of an asian kick. I feel much more in control and energetic but haven't dropped alot of weight--I've been eating salty foods though so that probably has something to do with it.

I swam today and am going cross country skiing on Sunday--plan on doing some major housecleaning tomorrow which I count as exercise..so doing well in that area. Also will lift weights on Monday (my sister and I meet at our club) and will also do some cardio.

Anyways, keep up the good work everyone. Congrats on 209 Tony--onederland is in sight for you!

click on the "Tofu" not the Shirataki for the link...netrition automatically put the link for their noodles but those kind are different than what I'm talking about

thanks, marilee!

clanger, i wanna eat with you!...sounds yummy!...

hey nancy, thanks for the info on the restaurants...i'm always looking for new places/things to eat...does the coat of arms make the english style fish and chips with the hard crusty batter and wrapped in newspaper?...we had a few places like that in rhode island where i grew up...

hi laura, as marilee said, it is never too late...we love everyone and are very laid back - no rules, no judging - just support and friendship :-) how did you know we needed a "laura"???

hi jenny, we're having another good day together!...btw, i am really impressed by how committed you've been to staying active...i bet once you flush the salt out of your system, you'll drop a few lbs. quickly...i think that's what happened to me this week...nothing makes me hold onto weight more than salt...

i had my best day eating-wise in a while, today...skipped breakfast, had a hb egg for lunch and no snack...then for dinner had one small plate of all on-plan food at my sister's party...so many delicious off-plan choices there and i wasn't even tempted...hope this lasts a few days...

Well been up since 4 because DH got called to a fire, and when the tones go off I always get up because I worry, makes it worse with all this snow. But as soon a daylight breaks I think I'll start shoveling even though it's still snowing. Good morning exercise

Tony wtg on your weigh in yesterday, nice. It's so nice to be able to go to a party with on plan food available. Hope you had a great time.

jfinchster can you buy the Tofu Shiatake in the store or do you have to order. They sound something I'd love to try.

Laura, I'm new here too and feel very welcomed, you like it here.
