great to see you back, ff...happy to hear your knee feels better but sorry you missed the bus!...and thanks for the birthday wishes...

i swear those doctor scales add 5 lbs. to your real weight - it's a conspiracy i tell you!...i don't see how the curfew can't help us lose...it's simple math: curfew=less time to eat=fewer calories...it'll happen!...think about how much better oiff your body is not carrying around an extra 70 lbs. bro...

i'm facing the doc's office on april 8th - the day after my one year anniversary...i'd love to tell her i'm at 199...they laugh at me, cuz i refuse to get on their scale...seriously!...

i'll check back in a bit...

Morning all!

Jenny, congrats on your 1 lb loss! Ooooo chicken piccata, yum, I think I'll put that on the Sunday rotation.

FF, you are doing great on the food discipline. Lousy that scales differ from place to place!!

Marilee & Vicki - Sounds like a great trip up to Sedona & it is GOOD to go "off the reservation" once in a while foodwise!! Hey why not?!

Tammi, congrats on getting to 218.8!!

And pour moi, I am happy to report I am down 1 lb. and in sight of the NEXT DECADE, which could happen by end of this month. Woo hoo. My oral surgery recovery calls for NOTHING CRUNCHY so this has been a big help not dipping into the Triscuit box!!

Tony - we're leaning towards Village Square for Sat evening, say 7:30 if y'all are interested.

Nancy

Hey everyone!

Vicki left about an hour and a half ago. Sure is quiet!

Last night for dinner I was going to have the cioppino but I was still full from lunch and was exhausted so I had an apple! We both went to be early - 7:30 PM! Of course, you need to realize that I'm up every morning before 5AM and Vicki is an early riser to. And after all of the glorious scenery, walking and sunshine yesterday in Sedona, we were pooped!

I weighed this morning and I lost 1.8 pounds!!!!! I'm only 4 ounces over the weight I'm supposed to be maintaining - way under the 2 pound limit. Woo hoo! I'm considering this phase a huge success. Can't wait to start on my drops on Saturday so I can lose more weight.

When I put on my pants this morning - the same ones I wore yesterday they actually felt looser - seemed to be longer in the leg and I just feel thinner around the waist and hips. I know that sounds silly from someone who weighs of over 300 pounds, but I know you will all understand. I am thrilled!!!

things are falling into place.

assuming the treadmill is not part a hallucination, my podiatrist has a truck. i promised him a cheesecake in gratitude(my m.d. will get one too. it is her treadmill). also, in the thriftshop, in the institution where i work, they had a tie with enough Kelly Green in it for tomorrow's St. Pat Day.- $3.00. This is reflective of my martial arts discipline: TIE CHEAP!!! I wanted green socks too, but they had no socks. After tomorrow, the at work WW program comes to a screeching halt, if they cannot get enough members. It seems many of them are finding it difficult adhering to a program pushing low fat choices. Hmm. Why do u suppose that can be? (that was a rhetorical question btw)I, of course adhere to full fat, and i am not shy with my butter and oils, but not profligate either. As i said in the past, i use WW for behavior modification, and their scale. If the program is not renewed, then i will register at a regular meeting place, when i get my tax refund. meanwhile, there are plenty of scales here at the hospital. I do need to stay accountable. FF

nancy, there's a family thing pending on saturday night, but it's iffy and if that changes, i will head over to meet you...that would be fun! :-)

lizzie, you'll be fine - just drink as much water as you can stand...good to see ya... :-)

marilee, of course we understand the loose pants thing - we're all in the same boat, give or take a few packages :-) CONGRATS on the 1.8 lbs., girl!...that is AWESOME!!!...happy to hear you and vicki had fun...wish i could have joined you in sedona...

ff, i am so happy the treadmill looks promising - bet that's gonna make a HUGE difference!...your ww plan sounds good - i hope they get enough participation at the hospital for your convenience...

i am almost afraid to say this as i might jinx myself, but today the scale read 206, which ties the lowest i have weighed during all of these blitzes...i'm within sight of my goal of 205 for the week...i was at 206 (unofficially, like this time) for one day - i believe it was in january...i was also at 207 on feb 1, so i'm only 1 lb. under that, but i am still feeling pretty good about where i am at today...if i can lose one more pound, i will be at my lowest in so so many years...

got another "you look great" today from a woman who hasn't seen me in awhile...i'm on a roll and i'm gonna enjoy it while it lasts!...lol...

those compliments tell the real story, Tony.

Treasure them. I do. Of course, it is nice to see the progress on the scale as well. Tonight, i am cooking. I am deciding between cheeseburgers and pork chops. as a contorno, i am saute-ing the shrimp and broc that i did not eat yesterday. Perhaps I can stretch it over 2 evenings. This way i can add some celery and 1/2 plum tomato, before it spoils too. Last Sat, i sat down to peel the jicama. But it was moldy already. I will get me another, and deal with it immediately after i get it home. FF

HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY HEWMON BLITZERS!!!

I am actually wearing a green shirt, green beads from New Orleans Mardi Gras (i was not there, but someone brought them back), and tie with much green in it. I wear ties on 4 occasions: weddings, funerals, executions, and St. Patrick's Day. I look hot today, I must confess. I am actually a template for Leprechauns. On the way to your time-space co-ordinates, the idiots that were piloting my exile ship, landed a few times in different time periods. One of which was in a land which the Romans called Hibernia, but never incorporated into their empire. The shock of seeing us generated the tradition of Leprechauns. There IS a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I am still trying to get at it. And now, boys and girls, get your pens and pencils out, cause i have some low carb bagel info for you.The Co. is called CARB KRUNCHERS. They are out of NJ, and on the net. 1 bagel is 5.7 net carbs. They make several varieties, such as Pumpernickel, Everything (but not sugar), Marble, and sin-amon raisin(this last I am avoiding, as raisins are too high in carb for me) They come in 6 packs, for about $6.99. I ordered pumpernickel & everything. I will keep them at work, in the freezer. For me, the portion size will be 1/2 bagel which is 3 gr net carbs. AND THEY ARE KOSHER!!! The first ingredients are Almond flour, soy flour, bran flour, whole wheat bran flour, oat flour, sesame flour, and a bunch of other stuff. ( I am reading from the sin-amon raisin bagel label-not mine, my friend Cleo's) It will be nice to have 1/2 of a bagel with creamcheese, lox, tomato, part of an onion slice, butter, and a slice of hard cheese, and stay on plan. If i may issue a bit of cautionary advice. Take it easy on the alcohol consumption. Conservative quantities. I, myself, will not be drinkin'...but... I will be THINKIN of DRINKIN. ff, thanks for the bagel info...do you know how many calories those bagels are?...sounds awesome!...have you tried one yet?...happy st. patty's day!

hey guys, finished up another good day yesterday:
b: sliced turkey
l: hb egg
s: 10 pistachios
d: 2-turkey burgers w/cheese (no buns), green beans, spinach, cup of fiber one with fresh blueberries

this curfew has been unbelievably helpful...

the scale was back up to 207 today, but i think the turkey burgers were salty and it must be fluid...i only ate a little over 1000 calories yesterday, so it can't be fat weight...i'm still shooting for 205 tomorrow...drinking lots of water today! :-)

Good morning all!

Well I'm definitely fighting a springtime cold / sinus thingy Not surprisingly the scale doesn't quite know what to do with me...trying to say i'm up a couple of pounds, which is to be expected after the drastic drop last week from the fat fast.....it certainly isn't from food cause I've had NO appetite since being sick...barely a 1000 calories consumed each of the last couple of days....I know I'm retaining fluids though, so I'll just keep drinking my water and I'm sure it will come back off again.

Tony it's nice to get those compliments isn't it???? I went to a corporate managers meeting yesterday and I had a few people I hadn't seen in a while come up and tell that I looked fabulous and had really lost some weight....it sure felt good to hear that!

Marilee you're doing great in your maintenance phase....I'm so impressed!

FF....you're so funny!! I'm glad you're back on line, we miss you when you're gone!! I hope you get your treadmill

Lizzie keep drinking water and flush that salt away...that's not a REAL 6 pound gain, no way!!!

Nancy you're going to see that new decade quick....that's always so encouraging!!

Well, should be a busy day at work: Dayquill? check! Tissues? Check! I think I'm good to go!! Have a great day everyone

Ah, FF, you put the joy back into St. Patrick's Day, good for you and I bet you look great! Can't wait to hear how the bagel tastes! I miss 'em!!

Tony, no prob on the Sat plans, PM me if it's favorable. Nice job on the curfew, and getting compliments from strange women, ha ha!

Marilee, congrats! The looser clothing is a great feeling, and soon you'll NEED TO SHOP FOR THE NEXT SIZE DOWN You will ROCK your next phase, I just know it!!!

Tammy - yeah, that cold has hit everyone. If you end up getting the big cough like I did, I found Mucinex DM to work well. Just lousy to have a cold!!

Lizzie - yup, push the water through! AMazing how the salted stuff affects one these days!

yes, i do look great!!! Thanks.

total calories per bagel is 135 on the average. WW points is 1.5 per bagel. My order is in. This is the sort of thing that makes a long term plan quite do-able. Bagels are the sort of thing that would prompt me to cheat. Even if i succumbed to a bagel binge, it would result in 36 net grams carb per pack, as opposed to the low carb pita (which i did eat a whole 6 loaf pack a few weeks ago-42 net grams)However, they will be safe at work. I will keep no starch more than 1 night overnight at my house. Tony, u consumed only 1000 calories in a day? Were u satisfied? I find it easier to go w/o altogether, rather than just a little. FF

ff, i really do not get hungry during the day - i force myself to eat several small snacks (one every 2-3 hours) to keep my metabolism going and to balance my blood sugar, but by the time i get to dinner, i generally have consumed only 200-300 calories at most - often it is fewer than that...

yesterday i only added about 700-800 calories for dinner - that is why the total yesterday was so low...my dinner is usually closer to 1200-1500 calories so my daily total has been about 1400-1800 per day since i instituted the curfew...my maintenance calorie requirements are about 2300 per day, so that should result in a 1-2 lb. per week loss...salt messes everything up, though... :-)

tammy, that's so nice that people are complimenting your losses - you've earned every kind word!...hope you feel better soon...

lizzie, WAY TO GO, GIRL!!!...we're all proud of you!

nancy, don't give up on me for saturday, yet!...i'll pm you when i know for sure...i'm really looking forward to meeting you guys!

ff, i know EXACTLY what you mean about bagels - they are so yummy shmeared...lol...the couple of times i have succumbed in this past year, i have taken a sharp knife and sliced the bagel into 4-6 thin slices, toasted a couple slices and covered them in cream cheese...only did 1/3 to 1/2 the damage :-) very satisfying...

if i can slice these halves in half, that would only be about 35 calories per slice before cream cheese, which is very doable!...

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I was going to go to the store and get corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots, but like Tammy, I'm suffering from this allergy/cold thing. Feel miserable. It's allergy time in Phoenix - something are somethings are blooming that trip me up every March. Taking Zyrtec and Robitussin D. Hope I don't need antibiodics this year.

Vicki should be posting the picture of the 3 of us before too long.

tomorrow, i go back for the lab results.

i am hoping i am under-compensated thyroid wise. that would explain why the scale is playing me. Then it would be a simple matter of upping the Levithyroxine. That plus the treadmill would get things rolling along. Perhaps an exclusive exlax and prune fast would get me to goal faster. FF

YW Tammy. Maybe I will see you again next year since I have decided to come again.

I haven't been on track at all since coming home. Need a good swift kick in the rear end.

ff-I hope all goes well with your tests.

Tony-thanks for the nice comment.

Happy Friday all,

Hey nice new pic of you Tammy! And nice pic of you three ladies, how much fun it must have been to get together!

Well, I'm down another 1 lb this morning, and the workplace Biggest Loser program has me at a 3.4 lb loss since last week. Home scale nekked was 210.5 and work scale dressed was 211.2. We are on our second week here at work, runs for another 8 weeks. A couple of the folks have lost like 9 and 10 lbs so far. I didn't lose anything during week 1, go figure.

The guys on here are killing me with laughter! They sneaked into my boss's office and strung donuts from the ceiling, and also constructed a Donut Man, too funny! His office just REEKS of donuts, thankfully I'm far away from it!

Congrats Lizzie on your knocking off 5 of th 6, keep at it!! Woo hoo!

My new avi is my latest adoptee, Carni, who is such a sweetheart Love Bug!

i never thought of myself, as a "cutie pie", Tony8

i always regarded myself as a (low carb) stud-muffin. But, i will accept any compliment at all, from whoever gives it. Tomorrow i will discover if my hopes are grounded in fact, or wishful thinking. I never thought i would be so excited about a treadmill, which most folks regard as BORING. FF

hey guys!...happy friday!...my home computer won't let me post for some reason, so you all missed some great stuff last night and this morning...just teasing...

ff, please keep us posted on your lab results - we all have a stake in what affects each of us, so i'll be on the edge of my seat...i'm betting it will be good news...good luck with the treadmill too - that's gonna make a difference!

vicki, it's tough getting back into your home routine - happens to me too...you'll get there!

tammy, hope you're feeling better?... :-)

nancy, let me know if you guys definitely go to the village square and the approximate range of times you'll be there...the "family thing" that is still up in the air is that my kids want to all go to see justin mckinney (sp?) at the stockbridge theatre at pinkerton academy in derry tomorrow night...don't know if you've seen him, but he is a hilarious comedian who does some really funny stuff about new hampshire...not sure of the times of his show or how long it lasts, but if there's a way to shoot over to hampstead to say hello to you guys, i'd do that too...or we may not even go to the comedy thing...

well, as expected, but disappointedly, i did not get to my 205 goal this week, so 1derland by 4/7/11 is now a dream...i have to recalibrate my objectives, which is a bummer...

i did get to 206, however, which is a new, all-blitz, official low, made a bit less enjoyable by the fact that i was at 207 officially at the beginning of february!!!!...i'm gonna have to take it and try to focus on the fact that i am losing - like a snail - but still losing...

hope y'all are having a great day!

Hi everyone,
I'm off for the weekend so may not post for a couple days. To be honest I have been struggling mentally, I'm having a really hard time getting back into "losing" mode. I have been staying around the same numbers so not gaining but I'm still up about 4 or 5lbs since Hawaii--I'm sticking mostly, had popcorn a couple times, to low carb but am eating too much to lose, I have to be a little bit "empty" most of the time to lose I won't go so far as to say hungry because I don't starve myself, I just can't eat a second portion of something cuz it tastes good. Anyways, I'm going to get in the right head space but I guess it's taking me some effort.... I also just hate relosing the same weight over again but that is something I need to get over.

good for u Tony...

i still believe u are closer to goal than u realize, which is why each lb comes off painstakingly slow. However as my approximate goal weight is 140-150 lbs, i derive no consolation, but i have greater determination. A friend at work showed me how to access the digital camera on my cell phone. So, i will be taking pictures of tomorrow evening's super full moon. I am also returning to the Met Museum on Sunday. I can finally take pix without security threatening to encase me in marble (one way to achieve immortality). I hope that I can return on Monday with good treadmill news. Everyone have a great weekend. FF

Hi everybody-just a quick check in. I'll read posts and get caught up later.

I was planning on starting loading tomorrow, but am going to delay it - I am real sick with a bad cold or allergies or a combo of the both. Can't taste, can't smell, coughing, headache, you know the drill. I'm not hungry but am eating chicken soup and crackers. I weighed this morning and I'm still in my window on the low side so hopefully, this won't sabotage me too much!

I'll check in later! Going back to bed.

hey jenny, i know exactly how you feel...my advice is "you can't force it"...if you're not in the losing mode, for whatever reason, you may just need a break...don't beat yourself up - i have gone through several such periods in this past year...instead of setting an objective of "losing" weight, set one of staying in a certain range, so you don't gain more than a pound or two...i guarantee it won't be long before you're ready to tackle the losing again and then you'll be into it mind, body and soul like you were for all those months before your trip...you'll be fine and we'll be here :-)

ff, thanks for the encouragement - it is getting harder to lose since i've gotten within 20-30 pounds of my goal - my calorie requirements to maintain my weight are just lower...it's hard to accept though!...that last 20-30 pounds seems more aggravating than the first 40...lol...btw, what happened to your home internet access?

marilee, hope you are feeling better soon...i bet once your virus clears out, and you lose any fluid associated with it, you'll find you lost a bit...

having a very good day so far:
b: skipped
l: steamed spinach
s: 10 pistachios
d: steak tips on the grill (it's in the 60s here today!) and veggies?
