Jana - that is awesome! I'm envious of your exercise. Once I get some weight off and can move better, I'll be able to do some. I'm hoping to be under 300 by the end of March.

ff-they could create a soft drink call TROLL, but I don't think it would be a success

Tony - you are such an encourager! We love you!

Well, I had my protocol lunch; 3 oz chicken breast, 2 cups tomatoes, one melba toast and an apple. Back to work.

Love you guys!

Do let us know if you hit on any exciting / successful recipes, tony8 ! I don't know about anybody else, but I seem to go through phases of eating the same quite plain food for a while, then trying to spice it up with something a little different.

Yum! I think curry has become the National Dish here in the UK - very popular! Glad to see that there a few fellow curry-lovers doing the Blitz this time round .

Well, not a bad day so far - protein shake, salami for lunch & two pork chops (what, I was hungry !) with veggies for dinner. Approx 1,400 calories and 18g net carb. Must do better with my water, though - only had about half what I should have.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Well yesterday I made a big pot of vegitable beef soup and ate it through out the day. Now I've been stomach sick all day. Wonder if I've got the flu or did I poison my self with my own cooking I did try to get to the gym but only for 30 min and then home. And the scale is up, why I don't know? But not eating much today.

ff, the wagons are probably sturdy enough, they just need higher safety bars

misty, when you catch a bug or have food poisoning, your body does weird things...i would completely ignore what the scale says until a couple days after you are feeling better...

nancy, we must both have to take exit 5 off 101 to get home :-)

Hey, musty1028 . At least you made it to the gym. Often it's so easy not to even make the effort, but it's great that you got yourself out there for a workout . 30 minutes is certainly better than nothing for both body and mind.

I also went to the gym the other day, but couldn't do my C25K run because of sore boobs jiggling about due to TOM issues ( yes, really!) . I managed about two minutes in total before calling it a day and drowning my sorrows in the cafe with a double espresso and whipped cream . Most pathetic 'work out' ever!

OK, so fiance' and I are eating at Panera (me a chicken cobb salad) anyways, at the table next to us is a woman eating 2 bagels!!! Not 1 but 2, they didn't have anything on them but still . . . I about jumped over my chair and smacked some sense into her but restrained myself.

Wow! This is the busiest our Blitzes have ever been! Welcome all the new Blitzers! I've been out of town (again) and just got home last night. I didn't do very well over the holidays, but am trying not to beat myself up about it and get back on track. I really need to eat clean and drink alot of water to get back in the groove. I really CRAVE carbs if I eat them and have a hard time not thinking about food or what I'll be eating next when I'm carbed up..

I have a minny goal part way through our Blitz for Feb. 20 which is when I'll be leaving for a two week vacation in Hawaii. I would like to be down 14lbs (at least.) I know that sounds like alot but I'm up 7lbs from just the past 10 days--I figure if I gain 7lbs in 10 days then I can lose 7lbs in 10 days and then I will be back to a loss of about 1.5 a week which I was able to do this fall. Anyways, I will need to eat basically just meat and veggies and a lot of water to make it happen. I have a good exercise routine I've been following, but am going to try and add some time on my elliptical to the mix also...

hey jenny, absolutely DO NOT beat yourself up over anything that is in the past...i think all of us struggled with the holidays - they're just not easy...and in your case, you lost so much weight so quickly last fall that i'm sure your body was anxious to put some of it back on...you know what you're doing, and you've done it, so i have no doubt you will be right where you want to be by hawaii and beyond...i believe in ya, kid...wish i was going!

vicki, if you see me eating 2 bagels at panera, you have permission to spank me...

On Hcg I get 2 cups of one vegetable from their limited list. So I chose tomatoes today - good thing I like them!

You should have smacked her - was she skinny? I'd smack her again!

I already knew that .

Ok, protein shake for breakfast this morning. I have some cured meats for lunch, and I may have some leftover spinach and ham quiche with a green salad for dinner. That's the plan, anyway!

Good morning everyone. I'm still doing very well with VLC, and have weighed in this morning at 153.4lbs. That's a loss of 7.2lbs since my first weigh in on 30 Dec. Only 3.4lbs until I reach 150lbs! I'm hoping to reach it by Saturday so I can focus on the 140lbs next week.

I upped my calories/carbs yesterday since I'm aiming to always keep my body guessing so I don't cause a plateau in the future. I track everything using LiveStrong, but I also like to mark my Biggest Loser calendar with my calories/carbs so I can get a visual of what's going on day by day. I've only been doing this for the past two days. I'm trying to keep my focus right now on changing up my calories more than my carbs, but I will up them on my higher calorie days by a small amount.

Day 1: 1245 cal, 2 carbs
Day 2: 2023 cal, 6 carbs
Today: 1305 cal, 1 carb

I found out yesterday that I have my army physical training test and weigh in on 22 Feb. It's just another thing to keep me focused and motivated on losing the weight and getting back in shape. My goal for 1 March is 130lbs, so I'd be happy to just be in the 130lbs by then. If I'm able to lose 3lbs a week, I'd be around 133lbs by the time I need to weigh in. Here's to hoping.

stars, i love your idea of varying things daily!...keep us posted on how that works and congrats on the results so far...

clanger, thanks for the acv info...i plan to start that regimen today and see what happens...btw, your menu sounds great - i love quiche!

jana, your cardio is amazing (<----what the heck does that mean?)

i had a great day til the end yesterday - then ate a salty snack and a square of dark chocolate (the real kind as i finished my bar of sugar-free a week or so ago)...

for some reason, i'm having a bit of trouble getting focused to start this blitz, which is disappointing because i felt super-motivated to get going...hmmmm...must be a lag from the end of the year...i need a kick in the pants as i don't want to plateau for a month and then have to spend the next two making up for it...

i may have to have one of my 500 calorie days today just to shake things up and prove to my body that i mean business!!!...yup, that's what i'm gonna do!...

hope the rest of you are feeling strong!

i, also, have seen the 90 day work-out infomercial.

at this juncture, i cannot do 1 sit-up or push-up (not even if i wore a push-up bra!!!). The last time i tried to do a push-up, i knocked the Earth out of its orbital path. I caught hell from the Gods. They made me attempt another push-up on the other side of the world, to move Earth back into its proper orbit. It aint easy being me. FF

Down one pound this week almost to my pre-holiday weight before I messed up and put the few back on I had lost. Lesson learned. Hope everyone is keeping warm. Walked about two miles yesterday. Busy the past few days and haven't had time for a good Zumba workout or any cardio but hoping to squeeze that in today.

Good morning!

Tony - you can DO this!!! I bit the bullet the first of the year and went on the stict HCG plan - 500 calories a day plus the HCG and vitamins. I'm not saying to do anything that drastic, but THIS IS YOUR YEAR - CLAIM IT!!!!

FF-Boy, do I know what you mean by "it ain't easy being me". That's why I HAVE TO DO THIS!

So I am happy to report that I have lost 7 pounds since Sunday - I'll take it and over a hundred more, thank you very much

Stay strong everyone - don't mean to sound like an AA meeting, but....one day at a time.

TTYL

okay, did some soul-searching this morning, and i'm feeling more invigorated and committed...i think what was missing was that i did not implement a change going into this blitz, which i have tried to do when starting the others, so i am going to come up with a set of changes...it may take me a few days to decide on all of them, but so far, here is what i have:

1. official weigh-in day will be moved from thursday to friday morning...why?...it gives me 4, rather than 3 weekdays before weigh-in (which are easier for me) and i usually weigh my least on fridays...so, it should give me my best possible send-off into the weekend...just a psychological tweak that i think i could use... :-)

2. i am going to try the apple cider vinegar regimen for the first couple of weeks - 2 tbs mixed in a cup of water 3 times a day...i'm not counting on much help from this, but what the heck?...i read the thread on it and it seems like it has a variety of potential health benefits, and i'm open to a placebo effect after 9 months of not trying anything like this...

3. i am going to dramatically increase my water consumption, and measure it EVERY day...i have been inconsistent with that during the first three blitzes and my appetite has followed that pattern...

4. i am contemplating making 1 or 2 weekdays per week, "500 calorie days"...it's almost a mini-fast without total deprivation...i seem to feel much better the day after one of those low-cal days, and unless i binge on other days, it should help me reach my 1 lb. per week weight-loss goal because on those two days, i will eat a total of 3500 calories less than my maintenance level...i'll let you know if i actually decide to implement this and how it works...

anyway, time for me to get out of the holiday mode and to get serious again...which is hard for me because i'm NEVER serious!... :-)

WOE: LC my way, low dairy
Morning all -

Sometimes it takes a few days into the New Year to get goin'...ME TOO, JEEZE LOUISE!!

Did great all day yesterday and then fell victim to some Triscuits before dinner. My weak point is after work/before dinner snacking. This must stop!
Triscuits hitting the trash tonight! No wheat/dairy/sugar from here on in!

Menu today:
B: 1 hb egg, 1/2 c steamed spinach, 1 oz smoked salmon
L: salad from home & 1/2 C herring
D: chicken brst, roasted asparagus & brussels

Stars & Jana - you two are rockin' and your goals have you focused and determined. Thank you for your service to our great country.

OK all, let's do this day, drink water, get exercise and not give in!
