Good morning everyone!

Goodness thank heavens it's a new day! Yesterday was stressful, lots of issues to weed through at work....but we made it! I ate really well yesterday....except for the frozen yogurt (had wayyy more than I should have) and the wine last night after work. I've never really considered my self an "emotional eater" but I have discovered with this WOE that when I get stressed I REALLY want something sweet. I'm trying to reign that in with yogurt instead of ice cream and almonds instead of cookies.....which is good...right? I ate basically salad and eggs for the rest of the day so I didn't gain this morning, but I didn't lose either. Oh well, it's only 1 day as long as I hit my goal by Sunday I'll count it all good. No yogurt today, and tonight it'll be tea instead of wine.

Marilee, you so totally rock....you're doing awesome in maintenance!
Tony, you're the man...you're going to hit your blitz goal in spite of the obstacles, you have the determination all over you...I see it in your eye!
FF, Sorbet...mmmmm....I might have to explore that idea as opposed to frozed yogurt

I hope everyone has a great day today!!

hey guys,
happy to see everyone is up and about and making progress...you guys all ROCK!

ff, sounds like you are the emperor of cooking apparati...can't wait to hear about how all these gadgets actually work!...

marilee, congrats again (do i say this every day?) on keepin' on...hope your desk doesn't have too high a pile of problems on it after 4 days away...

tammy, thanks for the vote of confidence...it's gonna be tough to hit my goal, but i'm in a good mind-set, at least...i'm anxious to reach a new lower level...i'm a bit tired of being the 210 lb. guy that i've been for a few months now...

sounds like you are in a VERY good place with your new woe...it's great when our bad choices aren't all that bad, isn't it?...when i compare my slips now to my normal woe a year ago, it's amazing how much better off i am now...

lizzie, great to see you hanging in there, girl...looking at your stats, you really have cause for optimism: first of all, you're in 1derland already, which many of us are a ways from reaching, so your starting point is pretty darn good...second, you've found a group of like-minded folks you can lean on and draw some strength from - i wish i had found them many years ago!...lol...and third, you WANT to make a change badly enough that you are here struggling with the rest of us...

YOU WILL GET WHERE YOU WANT TO BE when you are ready, and in my opinion, you are getting ready :-) good luck!

I awoke to new found determination. Maybe because I hit a new bottom last night. Pigged out on candy and pizza and had the runs and felt like crap. Sorry for the graphics. I hated to weigh myself for fear of the 200 lb. Regardless, I gotta get this under control and back down to at least 170 so I can fit into clothes and feel better about myself.

just finished lunch.

about 8 oz of cuban pot roast. i also got an order of baked tilapia(for tomorrow's bkfst) Total cost $6.53/hospital cafeteria. No complaints. I did not consume the gravy, in the event there were thickeners. I am allowing 5 grams for the amt that the meat absorbed. It was delicious. I ate it too fast, of course. But that is all i am eating, except for water, till din din (which will be either fish or chicken). FF

Hey all......

Vicki you go girl, just get back up on the bike and go!!! Now you have a recent taste for what the bad stuff is, and what it does to you!!!

I've got a really bad (wicked bad, as they say in New England) cold going and the only blessing is that I have no appetite (skipped lunch)...will cook us some salmon and roasted veg for dinner.

Congrats HarlanHollows gal, great job on your YTD loss!

Clanger, you out there? Sorry to hear that Helen Mirren didnt' get a wedding invite! Yours must be lost in the mail!

Feb is coming to a close...we'll have to do a month-end tally, eh?

Yep! March 1st post your losses for the month and we'll add 'em up. I'm in maintenance so I'm not expecting to lose more than 1 or 2 pounds.

vicki, no worries girl...this decision we've made is not easy and we're gonna hit some speed bumps...shake it off, keep the fond memories of how carbs make you feel, and then just take one day at a time...

ff, you are such a GOOD BOY! i never avoid gravy!

nancy, happy to hear you've got a cold-- oops, i mean have lost your appetite-- oops, i mean i'm happy you are having salmon tonight

good day so far...

Tony - do some vinegar shots, if you haven't been, and see if that helps.

YUMMY!!!!

Ok, so for dinner tonight I tried a recipe I saw on another thread....Skillet Pizza...OMG!! It was super quick and easy and SO GOOD! My hubby LOVES IT!!

Ok here it is:

In a cast iron (or broiler proof) skillet brown some ground beef and ground italian sausage. Drain if needed and pat in down with your spatula so it's nice & flat. Then spoon a thin layer of pizza sauce across the meat and top with whatever pizza toppings you prefer, cover in mozzarella and put it all under the broiler til the cheese is all golden and bubbly. Dinner is served!!

well, on the subject of gravy....

unless it is pure meat juice, it probably has some thickener in it. this is why i have my egg fu young w/o gravy as well. Last night, i had my chinese repertoire...ATKINS-IZED. After that, i did not go near the kitchen. I hope all my nights go as smoothly. FF

Good morning!

Scale was good again today - .2 up from my maintenance weight so I'm in my window.

Here's todays eats:

B-3 egg omelet with a slice of mozzarella cheese; coffee with hwc
S-apple
L-lettuce, yellow pepper, cherry tomatoes with two cans of tuna mixed with mayo and onion (I didn't have any celery )
D-New York strip steak; green beans and lettuce salad with tomatoes, cucumbers and spring onions with ranch dressing.

Does it get any better than that ?!

THAT IS AWESOME, ff...i am so happy you got back to where you worked so hard to get to in the first place...WHAT A CHANGE over the past, right brother?...a few years ago, we might have given up and ballooned after a week like last week, but NOT THIS TIME!!!...i am sooooo proud of you for not getting discouraged and for doing the hard work you did this week...it's inspiring me, bro...thanks!

marilee, i'm proud of you too...you are following your plan like clockwork and that is no easy task...btw, once again that menu is just too tasty :-)

i'm having a good day so far and my spirits have been boosted by my good buddies here, so i'm feeling strong!...let's keep it up, kids!!!

thanks guys... i am touched.

Tony...make as many trips as u like, but not to the kitchen. What works for me is keeping a bottle of water and a bottle of soda by my bed. It is the slothful approach...but it works MOST of the time. I wind up making several trips...but it is to the bathroom. Vicki...i am sorry u lost TEMPORARY control, and delighted u found your mojo again. Remember how lousy you felt after your indulgence, the next time u are being seduced by the dark side. As much as i am focused on eliminating the bad old ways, these lustful carbo desires hit me from time to time. No one is perfect. I am pleased to say, that I limit these escapades, and i am successful in deterring full-on binges. FF

good advice, ff, thanks...it is a relief that "binges" are such a distant memory for me...although i've had too many off-plan moments, i have not gone on a full-out binge since i joined the first blitz...

two days in a row, people who have not seen me for awhile have commented that i look like i lost a lot of weight...i always feel ambivalent when i hear that: happy that they noticed the change, sad that i was fat enough to need to lose all that weight, and then a bit daunted by how much farther i have to go... :-) is that "amtrivalent"???...

another Friday...longest day of the week.

however or whyever i dropped 7.2 lbs in one week especially after the low carb pita episode...i do not know. But i do think it is evidence that the plateau has run its course. On to 2-dorland. It is gonna be one busy weekend. I have a steak defrosting as we speak. When I get home, I will put a dry rub on it. Then Sat or Sunday I will make it with some sauted veggies on the side. I will also get a pork roast and POPEIL it. Then i will slice and portion it out, and alternate it with something else during the week...possibly "fried" chicken in the Express...Redi...Set..Go. it is about time I took that baby out of mothballs. Meanwhile, tomorrow is another WW meeting, then the bank, then coffee at McD, and home to await the computer guy, and the afternoon MetOpera Broadcast (Gluck's Iphigenie en Tauride)Sunday to the clothing store which is out of business, to see if i can get anything, then to Staples for a color cartridge for the printer. Somewhere, sometime during all that, I need to find a pork roast. If I do make it to the doctor, I must discuss cortisol levels with her. they go up when stressed.Cortisol interferes with weight loss. How to negate stress w/o medication...there's the rub. Well, everyone have a great weekend, w/o going off the deep end. FF

Mornin' everyone!

I'm down 1.5 so I have now hit the 40 mile marker!!

Congrats FF, you're back on track and focused!! 7.2 lbs gone, WOWEE!!!

I logged onto FIT DAY and entered yesterday's intake up through lunch....interesting site but I'm not sure I can sustain entering every food item. But there is a weight loss graph chart that I think I'll keep up with.

Hubby has lost 16 lbs on his workplace "Chuboff" and is stoked to keep at it so we are a good team effort.

Tony, we went to India Palace on S. Willow Street in Manvegas. Really good, it's either that or Shalimar in Portsmouth.
