Good evening everyone! What a day!!!! Ok so we had a managers meeting all day today in phoenix, there are approximately 50 of us throughout Phoenix and Flagstaff. I get there at 9 am and my boss has laid out candy all over the tables to get rid of the leftover valentines candy and give us all something to munch on Then lunch was brought.....Papa Johns Pizza....no salad....no options....just pizza and HUGE gourmet cookies for dessert.

I brought a bag of raw almonds with me just in case I didn't have very good options...Thank heavens. So I munched on almonds, I picked the toppings off of the pizza and did NOT eat the crust!! and I also successfully avoided the cookies....although EVERYONE around me had at least 2!

Soooo....as proud as I am about ALL of that........I caved on the candy...Mini snickers and reeses hearts got the better of me.

BUT....I will choose to focus on the victory today....I didn't eat the pizza crust or cookies. Perfect? NO...but tremendous improvement!

I have a feeling I'm gonna have work REALLLLLLY hard to get back to that 225 this week.

How was everyone's day????

Thanks for feeding back on the scotch eggs recipe - they sound delicious!

Well done everybody for remaining on track. And congrats tony8 on getting back on the wagon - it sounds like you're properly back in the swing of things.

ff, before you spend any cash, I'd recommend you download Spybot Search & Destroy, AVG and Spywareblaster. They're all free and highly recommended.

The home of Spybot-S&D!
AVG Free - Antivirus Free Download | Free Virus Protection
SpywareBlaster® | Prevent spyware and malware. Free download.

If you download the the first two, and update with the latest virus / spyware definitions (which it should prompt you to do as part of the download, I think), you might be able to get rid of any virus or spyware that you have.

Spywareblaster is a preventative tool for protecting your browser, so I'd recommend downloading that for extra protection once you have your current problem sorted out (i.e. it won't sort out your problem now, but offers extra protection in future).

Other than your technical problem, I hope you had a good birthday.

thanks for the tip, clanger.

i am not sure i know what download means, or if, under the present circumstances, i have those choices available to me. i cannot access e-mail (not that i am expecting any), or even able to play music on the wretched monster. I hope for the best, but expect the worst. I have calmed down somewhat. I am not even afraid to get on the scale, today. I am ewxpecting as much as a 10 lb gain since 2 weeks ago. I needed to step away, for a bit. I was in the trained seal or otter mode, being expected to do weekly tricks. I am now primed to continue the journey unfettered. As i was tidy-ing up my work station, i found a picture of me taken on TG 2007. It is an upper torso shot, but u can see it in my face, that a tremendous amt of weight had been removed (ATKINS). I remember quite distinctly that i had lost exactly 80 lbs from a beginning weight of 368.6 lbs, which yielded 288.6 lbs. i will affix it to my bulletin board right in front of me and next to the Olympian Gods and the bridge officers of NCC-1701D. It will be a good anchor for me. In the picture, i am standing next to the god Augustus (another great anchor for me)FF

Well I got my results from the Doctor. He said for now my kidneys are fine but I am probably having complications from my dysautonomia. For one, my pancreas secretes way too much insulin. Anywho, if it is something I took in which my body is not liking (or at least partly contributing) then a detox might help? I had several people recommend the Sacred Heart which is a soup-based seven day plan. The soup itself is fairly low carb (it has tons of green vegetables and no potatoes or noodles) and most of the menu for each day is low carb except for the 2 or 3 days out of the week that you have to eat fruit. I'm gonna give it a whirl and see if I feel better. Then I might start fresh with the low carb again.

Tammy - great job on not giving in to all of those temptations. I think my eyes would have glazed over and my hands would have automatically stuffed my face!

Artemis - I'm so sorry you are having health issues and pray that the soup helps.

FF-like you, I'm kind of igorant when it comes to fixing things in my computer. Here at work we have an IT department so I don't have to worry about anything. I always hesitate doing anything by myself at my home computer. That said, thank you everybody for the free websites. The next time I have a problem, I'll give them a try.

I'm a pound over my 2 pound window so I need to watch what I eat. Otherwise, it's a great day!!!!

thanks gibby. i am sure, in time, the problem will be resolved. i may have to wait for my tax refund, before i deal with it. Artemis, best of luck with the soup treatment. I will be thinking of you. I will have some House Special Soup tonite in your honor (w/o the carrot curls, and little corns) FF

well, i was right.

i added 7 lbs this past week. i am up to 314. it does not take too much time for me to put it all back. so, 1st i shall be doing vlc for a few days, and gradually inch toward more salad/veggies, and less critter. But tonight i see 2 large orders of ribs (w/o bbq sauce) for dinner. I will try to eat them as slowly as possible. then perhaps i will not have to consume all of them. FF

hi my friends,
missed y'all today...i was swamped at work this morning and my son had early release at school, so we were hanging out this afternoon :-)

tammy, i think you should focus on what you were able to avoid - i think you did GREAT...a reese's heart isn't gonna kill ya - just make your next snack on plan and you'll be fine...

clanger, aren't you the techie??? :-)

artemis, it's great news that your kidneys are okay - that's HUGE...i also think your detox plan sounds good - best of luck with it...i'm betting you'll feel better very soon...

marilee, you're really doing well staying so close to your weight-range after such a long time away from regular food...pat yourself on the back for me!

ff, for 10 1/2 months you have been relentless in your willpower and support of the rest of us with nary a slip...you've been a darned inhuman ferenghi!...your body and your mind probably needed a brief reset...that has happened to me several times over these blitzes and frankly, i don't know how you've avoided it...

earlier this week, i also hit 7 lbs. above my lowest weigh-in...i am now back on track and have dropped 2 of those lbs...you'll do the same...don't get discouraged - you are doing great, brother...we're still gonna be doing this together at this time next year, so we should never let slips get blown out of proportion...enjoy the ribs!

part of my "slip" was a deliberate step away from "dieting"

However, this past episode was from sheer infantile frustration. I am pleased to say that it is over. I am my old Ferenghi self again. Last night, I ate only 1/2 of what i bought. I watched 3 episodes of CRIMINAL MINDS in a row. i was so absorbed ( i also had a book i was reading during the commercials), that i rarely picked up my water or diet soda to sip.The kitchen didn't even exist. Eventually, the computer problem will be dealt with. A friend of mine is taking me for my birthday lunch on Sunday. I will save my dessert for my low carb bakery which is a convenient 20 minute walk from the diner. I fete him on his birthday in July. In a word: I'm back, baby, I'm back!!! And, it's Friday...sigh. Yes, I did, but the characters didn't grab me. I'll give it another week or two and see....I liked that Penelope Garcia was on it!

hey guys,
had a crazy day yesterday - sorry i wasn't around...dealing with my collapsed buildings and my kids...all good stuff, just busy...

ff, so happy to hear that you are back in the groove - enjoy your sunday dinner and bakery run!...

hmmm, i've never watched criminal minds, but i'm thinking i should check it out :-)

had a good day eating-wise yesterday, as well...went our for a burger last night - had a bacon-cheese-elkburger and i ditched the whole wheat bun...the rest of the day was a small piece of grilled chicken and a cheese stick...and maybe a couple of ounces of steak tips...

i officially weighed in at 212 again this week after jumping almost to 214 midweek, so i was happy with that...this week i'd like to get BACK down to 210...i still plan to make my assault on 1derland by the end of this blitz and that's gonna take some real discipline...

how's everyone else doing???

Morning all!

I am pleased to report a total loss this week of 3 lbs! I am now in the mid-teens. YAY. Wow, I haven't seen this number in ages....I am stoked.

Tony, let us assault OneDerLand like D-Day! Your food yesterday sounds really good and on plan. Remember, we're just slooowwly melting away, just like this New Hampshire snow!! And some days will get cold and there will be no melt. And then some days will get in to the 40s and 50s..and there will be melt!

FF - Good to get your train back on the track!

Hubby and I are going out for Indian food tonight and we are already talking our game plan of what we're going to have vs. nixing the items that we USED to have. A Saturday morning weighin, no matter what the results are, helps me keep the ship steered for the weekend....

We are off to Planet Fitness!! Have a good one everybody!

Good job on losses, guys! KUTGW.

I had a good day on the scale. I've been struggling with maintenance - gained 6 pounds, which is NOT acceptable. The allow you a 2 pound window so I was 4 over that. I did a "correction day" yesterday, drank a ton of water, and baddah boom, baddah bing - dropped 4 pounds so I'm back in my window again! Whew!!!!!

i'm proud of you, marilee...the reaction you had to being up 4 lbs. was exactly appropriate in my opinion...it's so much easier to get discouraged and fall into old habits, than it is to accept responsibility for the cause of the gain and then to buckle down and deal with it...

i think that is the difference between yo-yo-ing forever, and finally getting a handle on our weight issues once and for all!...

i am the VICTIM of a miracle.

i do not know how or why (but i believe it was a kindness of the God Augustus, and the Goddess Julia Augusta (formerly Livia Drusilla), the consort/wife of Augustus, which caused this "hydra" to grow a new head, so to speak. How long i will have it, before it gets infected, no one can say. I am grateful for every minute. The most valuable asset is that we can communicate at any time, especially when we are tempted by the dark side of the force. Well, i just polished off 8 oz of Hebrew National salami & 3 very thin slices of muenster cheese.(5 gr carb total) Later on i have the tail 1/2 of a smoked white fish (0.92 lb gross weight & 0.00 gr carbs.) Tomorrow is the end of the big 60 bash./lunch at my fave diner in Bklyn-THE VEGAS diner. Yes, I am going to eat steak. if i remember, i am bringing my own dressing, and a small sandwich size baggie for 1/2 oz walnuts. Dessert will be at the low carb bakery. well, we will, HOPEFULLY, talk later. Then I will explain why I believe it was Mr & Mrs God & Goddess who were responsible. FF

FF - Oh wow, would I love smoked whitefish!! Oh yeah baby, simmered in a cream sauce a la Finnan Haddie, oh take me to heaven....Enjoy your final bash even tomorrow!

Marilee, great job on the badaboom, Yeah Baby! Boy it stinks to see a creep up on the scale. Good for you getting a handle on it, you can do this!

Tony - I'll keep my eyes on the prize and will do my utmost best: but realistically, by end of this Blitz I want to be in the next decade down. I think I'll be a 5-6 lb a month loser once all is said and done which is just fine with me...Onederland by Easter (or at least see the shoreline!) would be great too!

Y'all be good, hear?

ff, welcome to the 21st century, my brother...i am here to tell you that your 60th birthday celebration will NOT end tomorrow...we will be celebrating it all year around here - right up until you hit roger maris territory!

nancy, that's a good pace...if i had been a good boy and kept at that pace, i'd be in 1derland by now!...but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...i had to be a mamby pamby and keep slipping up, so i am exerting pressure on myself to make up for it!...

you don't have to join my idiotic pursuit - do what you're doing at your own pace... :-) i'll be your entertainment...lol...

elkburger!!! that got my attention.

tell us about that, Tony. i had promised Augustus that when i got a computer, i would find a suitabe image of Livia, have it enlarged to poster size, frame it, and place her next to my poster of Augustus. Even the most cynical and agnostic being can hardly believe that they took no part in getting this machine up and running. It is 3:05 pm est, and I am NOT hungry. How delightful. Now for the conclusion of Donizetti's DON PASQUALE live at the MET. FF

ff, i went to a burger place called fuddrucker's and they have beef, buffalo and elkburgers - they used to have ostrich as well, but discontinued that...i think it's a chain, but i'm not sure how widely dispersed they are...

the elk was very good - you can tell it is not beef, but barely - i actually prefer it as it has a little more flavor...btw, congrats on your "immaculate contraption miracle"...

as for birthdays, the big 52 is three weeks from today for me...i love even numbered years :-)

I love Fuddruckers, their burgers and toppings are so fresh!!

How's everyone doing this weekend? I've done pretty good. Through a weird chain of events we ended up having dinner both Thursday AND Friday at the SAME mexican restaurant It went well though, I was careful in my choices both nights...I had steak smothered in Queso Fresca Thursday night and Chicken in a heavenly green chile/spinach/cheese sauce last night. No rice or beans....no tortillas or chips.....all in all I'm pretty pleased.

My goal for this week was to be at 225 by Sunday and I've been bouncing between 225 - 226 all week. I've been pretty light today on calories and trying to get my water in....so I'm hoping that my official weigh in tomorrow is at or below 225.
