Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven't posted, I've been so busy, but I have been staying on track, just haven't lost much more weight (saw a new low for a day and then the scale popped back up the next.)

Sorry you're struggling Tony, don't get discouraged--we will always have to struggle with our weight but we can't give up. I know I will probably gain on my vacation and be relosing the same pounds I've been struggling to lose this month, but my only chose is to relose them... Sorry about your friend too, that is so hard to go through...

I'm leaving on my vacation next weekend and just had to change my husband's ticket for him to meet us later in the week because he can't leave work for that long--but I will be with my sister, and mom and dad so it will be fine for me. I just feel bad for him, but he's taking it pretty well... Anyways, my goal is to maybe drop another pound this week and then minimize the damage on vacation.

Happy Birthday FF!

Well, I confessed to Vicki so I need to confess to my Blitz friends - I BLEW IT!

No, I didn't succomb to cookies....my boss went out and got each of us one of those small heartshaped boxes of candy (4 pieces inside) for Valentines Day. I hesitated all of 5 minutes and then I ATE THEM ALL. Darn! I was doing so well! Oh, well, back on plan.......Bummer, I could kick myself.

Do you think it could have something to do with how we handle stress, tony8? It sounds like you've had a terribly stressful few days and weeks.

Speaking for myself, I'm under immense pressure at work at the moment - ridiculously long days, but not productive 14 hour days. It's all been reactive rather than proactive - not in control.

Maybe the lack of control in other areas of my life at the moment (i.e. work) is spilling out into my eating and lifestyle habits? At the very time I need to exercise control, to counteract the chaos at work, I seem to be struggling with it.

Perhaps I'm using this as a subconcious 'convenient excuse' to go off plan? "I'm stressed", "I'm too tired", "It's too hard with all the other pressure on me". I must guard against this at all costs.

Live Free, Happy Anniversary to you as well!!!

What a nice day it's been, I skipped breakfast because I knew that my hubby and I would be going to lunch...and thank heavens I did cause we went to Macaroni Grill....Man do I love that place!!!!!! I didn't do too badly, I had the chicken Scallopini (my Fav) and the whole dish is under 800 calories....a lot for one meal....but since I skipped breakfast not so bad! I also had a glass of wine with my lunch which was a lovely thing to do in the middle of the day (Not working today)

All in all it's a truly fabulous Valentines day, I hope everyone's day turns out as nicely!

clanger, i think you may have hit the nail on the head as far as what's been going on with us...thanks for the insights...for me, abstaining from anything i enjoy for long periods of time begins to feel like punishment and i always rebelled against authority - even my own!
:-) now that i've been out of my cell for a couple of weeks, i've had my sentence extended and have to do the time...i'm ready to hit the rock pile...

marilee, you must have really wanted the chocolate - and you've been sooooo good lately...just enjoy them and move on...it's no big deal...

lizzie, a bunch of us are climbing back on the horse - saddle up, girl...you may want to redefine your plan to something you can stick with for awhile...a plan you cannot endure is no plan at all...make changes in small doses at first if you have to - if you set a goal of a 1/2 to 1 lb. loss per week, it won't take total deprivation to accomplish it...and you will gain momentum...sometimes our problem is expecting too much and letting disappointment derail us...

vicki, tammy and marilee, i am jealous - wish i could join y'all...

misty, ribeye and crab legs???...will u marry me?... ;-)

jenny jenny jenny...i am so proud of you - you did it, kid!!!...enjoy your vacation and eat what you want to and come back refreshed and tanned and happy and we'll continue on to goal when you get back!

i'll check back in a bit!

Good morning - scale shows me a little over my 2 pound window so I'm going to just eat protein and salad today and lots of water. I've been eating (besides the chocolate!) some salty foods (sausage, etc.) so I'm hoping it's water weight.

We'll see what happens!

Tony-I didn't really want the chocolate - that's what so sad. It's really true that our brain is our main problem in this battle of the bulge!

Have a great day! I'll check in later.

Lizzie-you'd be surprised. After the first week, it's no big deal. What you need to understand is....the drops are releasing your fat so your body can "consume" it. So, you are actually eating more than 500 calories a day. Also, it guarantees that you don't lose muscle mass, but just blubber. Trust me, it isn't bad. The drops also suppress your appetite.

well, it certainly worked for you, marilee...you are a living testament to the whole thing...i couldn't believe how quickly the lbs. melted away...

HEY FF, where the heck are you???...hope you had a great birthday...i'm guessing you haven't gotten completely comfortable with your new roommate, the pc, yet... ;-)

lizzie, that's a great start!...good for you, girl...

i'm feeling a lot stronger today...just about back to normal...i have no desire at all to eat off plan...it's funny, like i got something out of my system - like a switch got turned off...it feels good...that's been the trick for me this past year - i've been able not to let slips turn into landslides, and to stem the damage before it becomes debilitating...

so let's all hang in there, kids! :-) that's what these blitzes are all about - no judgment, just support and encouragement!...

today's menu:
b: none
l: hb egg
s: 1/2 apple
d: turkey chili

I'm here, I'm here. Just buried in work. Nothing new to report, really. Made it through Valentine's okay, thanks to my friend with the sugar-free candy gift. It was finally gorgeous here and we had a great day. Looking forward to being able to take some of my exercising outside now that the persistent ice has abated.

Congrats on getting back on track, Tony. That is a great thing about low-carb -- even when you go off track, you just don't go as far off as you once did, and it seems easier to get back to it.

I'm here--I've been eating really well but I've hit a little stall--I'm not too worried about it though as long as I don't gain...in a way it's probably a good time to go on vacation, give the weight loss thing a little rest and then come back to lose the last 15-20 lbs...they say those are the hardest to go, so I'm not gonna be in a rush about it...

I'm feeling so much better after losing 29lbs it's not a huge amount like some people on this board but my body feels it!

I'm here too!!!! So I have to say I'm SOOOOO excited!! My goal for this week was get to 225 by Sunday, I've been playing with the same 2 stubborn pounds for 2 weeks, and it was getting frustrating. WELL....this morning I weighed and I was 225!!!!!

Now, before I get too carried away I intend to give another day or two and make sure it's consistent before I claim it enough to change my stats. I promised myself that I'm still holding at 225 by Thursday I'll drop my goal to 224. I so desperately want to be in Onderland.

One another positive note: I went to the office this morning and one of my employees had left a small box of chocolates on my desk for Valentines day. (I was off yesterday) It was so sweet of her, and they were SOOOO cute....they were decorated like little mini cupcakes and I thought OH NO! She was so excited about them and couldn't wait for me to try them....SIGH....so I thanked her, gave her a hug and tried 1 tiny one, raved about how good they are...and had lunch with my daughter and gave them all to her!! (it's ok she's 17 and PMSing....she needed them)

thanks shadows! and you're right about the LC thing :-)

jenny, 29 lbs. is a LOT of weight to lose...as a result, whether you know it or nor, you have an entirely new body, biochemically...you raised your life expectancy and lowered your risk of several serious illnesses...calculate 29 lbs. as a percentage of your body weight and see what you get...you have done awesome and we'll lose that last 15-20 lbs. together in a slow, sensible way that lasts!...great job!!!!!!

tammy, you are the bomb!...wow, stay on course for the next couple of days and you'll hold onto your loss...my problem is when i see a new low, i want to reward myself and then "poof"!...we're all proud of you!

i had my best day in a while yesterday and am feeling strong and on track...thanks for the support, guys!

well, i am 60, and i am back.

i regret i did not behave maturely. my new computer has a virus, and i took it out on my eating behaviors. i am glad to be back at work, where i can forget about the monster for a while. i have no idea how to deal with it. but i know it will probably cost me hundreds to resolve, money which i do not have. my instincts were right. i have no business with technology at home. i have been resisting it for years. i should have kept on resisting. However, i am right on the money again food wise. i will, for the time being, increase the salads and veggies, and cutting down the portion sizes dramatically of the critters. It will still be quite austerely low carb. I think the change will be good. FF

Hi ff - sorry about the virus. I took mine to Staples and they cleaned all of the virus' out of it, "tuned it up" and made it wonderful for around $120.

Good job on getting back on track!

Jenny-29 pounds is great!!!!! Don't worry about other people...you are doing wonderfully!

SCOTCH EGGS LC RECIPE here, yup, I made them:

5 eggs, hardboiled, cooled and shell removed
1 tube Jimmy Dean sausage
1 tsp+ worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp thyme, some pepper, any other spice you feel like

Preheat oven to 425. Empty sausage tube in bowl, add the worc. sauce and spices and mix up, divide into 5 sections.

Use 2 pcs of wax paper, and put a section of sausage meat inbetween, flatten out to be 1/4" thick, about 5" across. Lift off top sheet of wax paper,
and carefully peel off the sausage and wrap around the egg, you can get creative on closing up the gap.

Place on a rack in a pan so fat can drain off, bake for 20-22 minutes. Not pretty, but they are good! Enjoy!

Next time I'll try mixing in some turkey sausage...

Live_Free - that recipe sounds yummy! I hat scotch eggs years ago when I went to the British Isles. I'm going to make them.

ff, you are 60 and were missed!...welcome back!...sorry to hear about your virus...if you have comcast or some other internet provider, they usually provide free virus protection...i just got done ridding my laptop of a virus using norton.com as i have comcast...otherwise, marilee's staples solution might be worthwhile...

lizzie, that's the right attitude!...good for you - what you ate is eaten, it's what you're gonna eat that will make the difference!... :-)

nancy, that sounds yummy - thanks for the recipe!...

i really feel better and totally on track...can't explain it - wish i could...i think it has more to do with not giving up and not beating myself up and just accepting i'm an imperfect human being on a mission that will have some twists and turns...and that I REFUSE TO GET DISCOURAGED, no matter what - that is my single commitment to these blitzes...

the other thing i have not wavered from is my exercise routine...on top of the 33 lbs. i've lost, i have definitely gained muscle, so i think i have lost more weight in fat than that and am healthier overall...

i am soooo aching to get to wonderland by the end of this blitz or by my one year mark on april 7th...

b: hb egg
l: hb egg
s: few peanuts
d: i'm thinking chicken halves on the grill...it's been a while since i could even see the grill through the snow but my son dug it out for me this morning, and i am anxious to use it! :-)
