misty, i'm a songwriter, so i go to nashville to write all the time...i know that city better than i do any city in new england where i've lived my whole life...i have a LOT of friends there, so i will hang with a bunch of buddies and buddettes while i'm in town "working"

vicki, good for you making a fresh start from last saturday - that is certainly allowed - in fact, i do it almost every day!

lady, that is INCREDIBLE...you and marilee accounted for 40 lbs.!!!!!!

thanks, ff - still a few days to go before i leave...the kids and i have been to the parthenon in nashville - i sometimes stay at a holiday inn right across the street - it's in a place called centennial park...really pretty amazing...

hi clanger!

Mornin' all....
We all did a really great job as a group! Way too cool!!! And we're all pulling for each other which is making our Blitz work! With Bosslady, are we at 66 lbs, is that right Marilee?

I'm down 1 lb. this morning, soon I will be busting through a New Decade.

Misty/Tony -- too much snow eh? I counted last night's shoveling and raking as my exercise, probably will today (working from home). Imagine a few dog food bags totalling 66 pounds, sheesh.

Vicki - good job getting back on track! I understand the holiday gain, boy, I will not repeat my 5.5 gain next year!!!
Clanger & Misty... you're chippin' away at it, just like an ice sculptor!

Home today, meals ought to be eclectic today!
B: some pickled herring, some sauteed spinach

OK everyone, stay the course and we will rock thismonth!
Nancy

Yep, we are at 66 pounds for January - We should all go out and celebrate by eating a steak

Good job, Nancy. And Vicki, your February loss will be awesome.

I was up 1.3 pounds today - I don't understand, but since I'm on plan, it should drop. I'm going to figure it's one of those stupid body things and move on.

Need to get to work - TTYL!

i have a steak on ice.

however the scale turns out tomorrow, i will be enjoying that steak this weekend, with sliced sauted portabellos, everything inundated with garlic. although i am mildly hungry, i will wait for lunch hour. I had a big caloric amount yesterday eve., so i like to give it a chance to process, before i take any more in. As i had the two Ts for bkfst and lunch (tuna, & tilapia), i thought i would save the rest of the tilapia for tonight. Instead, I had a large order of chinese ribs (ATKINS-IZED). Before that i had 4 oz of muenster cheese (2 oz at a time), and an hour after the ribs, the 1/2 container of Friendship 1% whipped cottage cheese (6 grams). for the whole day, that totals 7 grams. The cottage cheese is like a dessert for me. (btw, i just mixed some FAYGO choc soda with some cold black coffee. I'm in heaven. What a combo!!! If i had a nice scoop of lc ice cream in there, it would be perfection) FF

nothing ATKINS FRIENDLY IN THE CAFETERIA TODAY...SO...

I bought 3 Roast beef sandwiches, and tossed the rolls. tossed the orange slice, and the little plastic thingie of mac salad. I am eating it as slowly as possible, in hopes that there will be some for tomorrow. they have some nice romaine leaves and 1 thin tom slice per sandwich. i am alternating mustard and mayo per slice to make it interesting. I lead an interesting life, don't i? FF

addendum to the aforementioned.

1 breadless sandwich was not enough, so i had 2. now i am full. total carbs today thus far between 1 & 2. i will say 2. Tonight i will allow myself a small ATKINSIZED shrimp and broccoli which will net me 7 grams for the day. Acceptable. I do not want to go beyond 10, until the experiment is over. FF

marilee, i'm looking at two feet of snow outside my window right now - i'd take a little ice from the water sprinkler

Hi everyone!!

We so totally rock as a group...66 pounds...wow!!!!

So I've gotta confess.....I've heard that being a little *ahem* backed up:blush: can affect the scales (in a negative way) and I'm here to confirm that this is indeed the case! After a little "corrective therapy" I'm down nearly 2 more more pounds!!!!! I weighed in at 227.4 this morning!!!!! Since my goal for the week is to be at 226 by Sunday I'm feeling VERY encouraged!!

February is going to be a GREAT month for us all, and Tony I think a great encore for us would be maybe....70 lbs!!!!

BTW, Tony that's so cool that you write songs....any that we might know????

Hope everyone's having a great week!

marilee, you can butt in anytime - no worries :-) ...today was a weird day...i got tied up this morning, and missed my usual hb egg...my pattern lately has been to eat a couple hundred calories during the day and then a decent supper...tonight i had broiled steak (you guys talked about steak so much today!) and steamed spinach...i did have a small piece of banana bread - it was very good...so, yes, all-in-all i think i'm eating enough :-) but if you wanna feed me some more, i'm game!

artemis, i'm tired just thinking about kickboxing at 5 a.m.!

lady, i'm hoping to lose 4 lbs. during february - so that'll leave 66 lbs. for everyone else...i don't wanna hog all the glory...

I was also tied up yesterday, Tony8

i am still waiting for someone to come untie me (hahaha). i had a great dinner, yesterday. The tilapia, from the day before. I ate it cold, breaking off pieces with my fingers. Before that i had my ATKINS-IZED shrimp and broccoli. I brought my ATKINS-IZED Egg Foo Young to work. I will be grazing on that throughout the day (also with my fingers-starting now). The only carb in it, is tiny whispers of onion theroughout. In the entire 3 patties, there is less than 1/2 thin slice of onion. The rest is just egg and pork. i will assign 2 grams of carb to the whole thing. Tonight is McD to the rescue. Let us hope my strategy thus far won me a couple of lbs off at high noon today. FF

ff, good luck with the weigh-in...no matter what the result, i think you did the right thing by shaking things up a bit...this should be fun for us as well as healthful...

lady, i wish 4 lbs. was nothing for me in blitz II, i only lost 4 lbs. over 3 months!...every half pound has been a bit of a struggle, actually...but a rewarding struggle...

i only realized a couple of days ago (when i posted it) that i have been losing 1.5% of my body weight, per month on average...that seems to be the result of the changes i have made in my woe - maybe a self-imposed limit?...it seems to me like a healthy pace - i'm not slipping back and i'm not feeling deprived - which for me is a prescription for success...

learning to be patient has been one of the most necessary aspects of this whole process...frustration is the thing that always ended up derailing my previous efforts, but not this time, in large part due to you guys!

Tammy, glad you are back on track and losing.

FF, breadless sandwiches are yummy. Sometimes I use lettuce leaves as my "bread"

I weighed in this am after drinking a glass of water and taking supps. Still down to 186 YIPEE

FF - good luck at weigh-in! We'll be rootin' for ya! When you say the egg foo yung is Atkinized, what do you mean?

Vicki, good job! I'd LOVE to be 186!! (and I WILL!!!))

Tony - when you stand sideways, no one can see you! Eat SOMETHING!

Tammy Boss Lady, I'd love to loose 10 in February also! Having 200 in sight is good motivation, just can't wait to get to One-der-Land...let's git'er done!

Slimlizzie, ooooh that is way too cold in Wisconsin!!!! This winter just $@#*s!
What's on the menu for Super Bowl anyway?

Keep at it, everyone! Drink your water too!!!

oh, gibby...u had to remind me!!!

the onus u have placed on my shoulders. How will i ever deal with the stress of such awesome responsibility? (hahaha). I had a very early bkfst this a.m.-around 7 am or thereabouts. I finished all 3 ATKINS-IZED EFY patties listed officially as 15 points(5 each) on the WW plan. However, those are regular EFY Patties with the sauce. I have no sauce, or flour, or sugar, or cornstarch. i am still counting it as 15, just to make everyone happy. Now i am ready to come out of my shell. And now for some sad news. My friend Jackie at work gave me a booklet filled with McD coupons which expire 2/19/11. I am going there this evening. So, of course i mis-placed them. No doubt they will re-materialize on or about 2/20/11. I am still going there, i just will not be saving any money. A Ferenghi w/o Profits is no Ferenghi. That is the primary reason i was kicked off my home world. FF

the Gods were not merciful this week.

i am UP 2.5 lbs to 307.1 lbs. The experiment did not work. Well, we will have to chalk this one up to experience, like Ralph Kramden's get rich quick schemes that went awry. I am just going to go on with what i was doing before, and allow time to do its thing. FF

Really great to see all the losses last month! Woot!

FF...Well, it is possible that you're just holding water from your experiment. I bet next week will tell the real story!

tony...I agree with your post several days ago. For many years I was able to lead a primarily LC life, and enjoy the occasional treat. (since having my son 4 years ago, I seem to have difficulty staying the course, but) I like the idea of healthy balance. Tuesday was my husband's birthday. I made him a cake and enjoyed a bit of it. I am learning that for me, an all or nothing mentality is very unhealthy, and can cause binging.
Have a great trip...we'll see if you have the usual loss after!

always so glad to see your smile, kbeth.

i accept the consequences of my experiment. i was trying to duplicate the 1st 2 weeks of induction after years of high carb endulgence. Actually, the 1st 2 weeks of April 2010 had no dramatic weight loss either. I am pleased to say that i have no desire for any off plan endulences. I WAS able to get back on the horse. ( btw what kind of sauce goes good with horse (pronounced haws? ) I am quite certain the Gods will be more favorable next Thursday with your fave Troll. FF

Finally a nice day today, couldn't believe the bargans that I found at the grocery store. All the meats that they had cut for yesterday were marked down to 1.00 a lb. No matter what the cuts were. I think I bought enough meat to last all month. The cashier said it was because of the bad storm we had yesterday that they had to get rid of it. I thought it was xmas again.

tony wow writing music sounds so interesting, how long have you been doing that. What awsome job. Is it hard to think up songs? Being that your from Nashville I take it that it's country music. Which I love. I agree without learning patience I think I would of given up, that's one of the best thing I've learned.

Nancy yup shoveling is great exercise, probably the best kind because I know for me I'm so sore because of useing muscles I don't normally use. And according the the weather we'll be getting more exercise on Saturday

Love the finally total for last month.

i found my booklet of McDonalds coupons....

after i got home from McDonalds. Last night, i got a grilled chicken Caesar salad, and 2 Angus Deluxe Burgers (ATKINS-IZED), and 1 large coffee, black no sugar. I'm saving the coffee for Sat. matinee Opera Broadcast. I am going back to McD on Sunday with the coupons this time. i can get with the 6 coupons- 6 quarter pounders with cheese, and another 6 free. of course-i will get them w/o buns or ketchup. i can put my own ketchup and mayo on myself. The mayo packets at mcD have mod. food starch. gimme Hellman's or Shoprite brand (exact same ingredients as Hellmans, but approx. 1/2 the price as the same size as Hellmans) I am saturating myself this weekend with burgers, baby.
