Good evening everyone!

So it's been 4 weeks since I restarted and I can claim a solid 16 pound loss. I'm to the point though that the rapid weight loss has slowed down to a more sustainable rate. I expected it, but secretly it's a bummer....I far prefer dropping 5 pounds a week as opposed to playing with the same two pounds! That's ok I am NOT going to get frustrated.....I feel SOOOO much better without all of the carbs, My fibro symptoms are at bay, I'm sleeping better and my tummy problems have virtually disappeared....losing weight is just another benefit!

How's everyone else doing this week?

congrats, ladyboss7....

of course, it is nice to lose big chunks of weight. However, if i depended on that, i would be off plan as quick as boiled asparagus. The fact that many unpleasant, and inconvenient physical symptoms went away, or are less severe, is an even greater aspect. Weight loss is, after all part of the journey toward better health. My success is paying attention to my daily needs, and letting the lbs take care of themselves. I know I will get to goal. The "when" i leave to the Gods and the Fates. FF

i found a new use for my cane.

i used it as a shovel. i had to clear a way to the curb, to get into the taxi. My regular transportation woosed out on me again. It will cost me over $40.00 round trip today. So far these snow excursions have cost me over $80.00. Too much of this, and i will have to start turning tricks just to survive. Well, at least it is Mozart's birthday. His music will help see me through the day. Happy 255th, Wolfgang!!! I am having egg salad for bkfst in about 20 minutes. It is supposed to be weigh-in today, but owing to the weather, I do not know if there will even be a WW meeting today. FF

Morning all!
Congratulations on your well-earned weight loss Lady Boss! Good job!

My hubby has lost 5.2 lbs on his first week of Chub-Off at work. I've got him pretty much low-carbin' with me.

I wonder if we can devise a end-of-month (this coming Monday) grand total loss for the group? I think we will all get a good boost from it.

Artemis, my work area has a birthday celebration monthly. It's hard to resist but I do now. I just say, "Oh gee, sorry, just can't have, doc says no sugar...." and that shuts 'em up.

good morning, slimlizzie.

i am so sorry u are struggling. i am not struggling, i am surrendering. the lbs are NOT flying off. But, they will come off in their own good time. I am enjoying the food every day. I cannot do diets, and i cannot do struggling. Let it take 10 years if it has to, but i will get to goal, eating steak and bacon cheeseburgers and other low carb yummies all the way home. FF

Quick fly-by. No loss today - wasn't expecting one.

Live-Free - we are doing a total at the end of the month. I believe ff weighs in on the first of the month so if everyone got me their total pounds lost by 2/2-I will total them up and post it.

FF...I love beef vegetable soup! Mine is a variation of a recipe my Mom always used. I just leave out the potatoes and pasta. It's not written down, so bear (bare? I never know which one is correct) with me.

Cubed beef for stew (don't recall what cut, but they usually have good prices on this)
Low sodium tomato juice or V-8
Beef bouillion
carrots (if I'm super LC, I leave these out)
celery
onion
rutabaga
cabbage
peas
green beans
really, whatever you feel like.

I boil the meat with the bouillion for a nice, long time so that it's tender. After that I lower the heat and add the tougher veggies like carrot, celery, rutabaga. After an hour or so, I add things like cabbage and peas that need very little cooking. And then add the tomato juice.
You can use whatever veggies you like or have on hand. You can make it as thick or thin as you prefer. Season as you like.

You might spend 20-25 bucks, but you'll make a ton. Eat for several days and then freeze single portions.

Artemis...I usually say that I feel better when I stay away from sugar and flour. It's the truth, and people don't usually fuss at me when they know it's for health reasons.

LCshadows...good to see you!! Thanks for for the info. I am trying very hard to like the elliptical. I know it's better for you than the treadmill impact-wise.

tony...well, when the judge makes a ruling, you must follow!

LIVE FREE...your profile pic is too funny! It took me the longest time to realize that your last one was not a parade float, but an actual pig flying thru the air!!

B: yogurt, strawberries and walnuts. Black coffee
S: chicken
L: chicken salad
S: few bites of chicken if needed
D: shiritaki noodles with alfredo sauce and peas. Weird texture, but not bad!

Going to the gym.

i so enjoy having lunch with my HEWMON Blitzers.

more mercury and its pesty attachement-tilapia. plus a nice salad with 2 T Newman's creamy Caesar salad, and an all day Mozart fest. I hope i am not stranded here. Kbeth: thanks so much for the recipe. definitely tweakable. i will be trying it soon. And, as much as i wish it was BARE, it is BEAR. I am off tomorrow, so i shall be back on Monday. Barring the unforeseen, by the evening of 2/5/11, i will have my own computer up and running. Then the fun really begins. FF

Oh duh, I hit something too soon and it posted.

OK..where was I? I will try the soup recipe to change up the lunch salad situation.

Now Marilee, I guess you are a big Steelers Fan huh. I have a crush on Aaron Rogers the GB QB....I could tackle him to the ground in a second. for a real fumble-tumble, tee hee.

KBeth - I too love the "When Pigs Fly" picture, but it hints of possibilities that something ISN'T going to happen -- like I won't make my goal....so I figured I would change it out for a while.

Lunch was salad, had chicken in it
D - will be leftover salmon, roasted asparagus, cauli, orange peppers

Have a great rest of day
Nancy

Nancy-Yep, I love my Steelers. I lived in a suburb of Pittsburgh from 4th grade through HS graduartion so yep - I am! There are a lot of those men in tight pants I could tackle to the ground for a rumble tumble

Well, my doctor told me not to eat flour or sugar (or many other carbohydrates for that matter) because my insulin stays too high. And when I tell people that, they still don't get it! Guess I need to start putting on my mean face
On a side note, only a few more days left in January, so gotta try really hard to get a few more lbs off! Good luck everyone!

hey guys, great to see everyone!...had a busy day and just logged in for the first time...

kbeth, thanks for the recipe - sounds yummy...i'm trying to avoid the judges ruling - i was at 211 again this morning and the verdict will be rendered if i am not at 209 by weigh-in tomorrow... :-) to increase my odds, i have been fasting today - just trying to break this stall...i am going to try to eat very little tonight and see if i can at least shed the water i've been hanging onto...

i will share the results in the a.m....

tammy, that is so wonderful that you have lost 16 lbs already!...no wonder you are feeling better...good for you!

marilee, i don't want to be the guy that offsets your losses with a gain this month, so i'm feeling the pressure... :-)

ff, very resourceful use of your cane!...we'll miss ya til monday...

Morning all
I had to step on and off the scale 3 times this morning and rub the sleep out of my eyes....to see....a 3 lb loss, I am getting close to the two-teens (my goal for Valentine's Day).

A big help is being part of this Merry Band of Blitzers, I really do feel a sense of community in our common goal. Thanks y'all!

We are going to a house party tomorrow night and will see people we haven't seen in many months. I definitely feel a renewed sense of confidence and glad I'm not sitting around like a slug this winter. I am bringing a hot dip made out of spinach, artichoke, Fage 0%, fat free cottage cheese...and oat/flax pita bread that I will cut into triangles and toast in the oven.....guilt-free.

OK everyone, have a good day and stay the course!

Morning everyone!

Good job Live_Free! I didn't lose again but I'm not concerned.

I do have bad news....went to the ortho doc yesterday and my knee is bad - bone on bone. I have arthrits on the kneecap and inside. So, knee replacement will have to happen at some point. He did suggest injections and if they help, it will prolong the inevitable so I had him give me one. We'll see how it works.

It's Friday!!!! I'm so glad - I'm ready for a weekend.

I'll check in later - take care

marilee, sorry to hear about your knee...i got the same news on my right hip last april, near the start of blitz I...i'm trying to put it off...i have a high tolerance for pain and if these replacements last 20 years, i don't want to go through it again if i'm lucky enough to make it to 71!... :-)

nancy, a big congrats on your loss...you must feel soooo good knowing you are making so much progress and confident that this is the time we all lick our weight problem forever!!!...i couldn't do this without you guys, either... :-)

well, i did it - it may not be smart, but i did it...as of this post, i have not eaten a morsel of food in 36 hours...i'll weigh-in shortly and see what happened as a result...if i don't get down to 209, there will be no night-time eating until i hit 206...i actually feel pretty good and not even hungry, although i hit a rough patch of hunger last night and willed myself through it...then went to sleep early...

i need to do something to break this stall and i'm thinking i have to get to 203-204 by the end of february to have a shot at 1derland by the end of this blitz...that is a non-negotiable goal...after i get there, i will try to find a maintenance woe that results in 1/2 pound loss per week +/-...

how's everyone else doing???

Tony-I've heard people break stalls by doing an egg day. Nothing else, just eggs. Maybe you could try that. It's sounds better than not eating.

You can have more the 3 eggs! Have as many as you want - don't starve yourself or your body will hold on to all of your "fat" because it thinks it's starving (I know you know that).

Good Luck with your weigh in Tony--you've earned the right to see a low number today!
Even if you don't see the low number, you can feel good knowing that fasting is acutually really benefitial to your body, so you have still done a good thing for yourself...

I'm slowly creeping down, saw another new low number this week which would put me down 27lbs but the scale popped up a pound due to eating asian food (my favorite), I'm sure it will be back down after today if I don't eat alot of salt because I haven't been eating alot...but I feel good!

Marilee--oooo sorry to hear about the knee, yikes. Prayers that it don't hurt too bad, and that you get a good fixup job done.

Catching up on reading the posts and congratulations to the losses. So nice to hear these things. For me the scale is moving a little, and if it sticks for more that a day I'll change my stats. I think that not eating anything after 7.90 is helping.

tony hope your fasting works. That's a long time to go without eating. After the fasting ends, are going to gradually add lc food back in?

Nancy that's the cutest avi. I love it.

hey guys, thanks for all the support!...

well, the fasting must have helped me shed some fluid, cuz i was 4 lbs. lower today than yesterday and settled at 207 for the week...i started eating regularly today so i know that will edge up, but i'm happy i got there at least for 1 day...that is still one pound over my all-blitzes low - but it's ONLY one pound over, so i'm happy about that...my goal for the coming week is 206...

jenny, i am so so proud of you - 27 lbs. is an amazing achievement!...you have earned every one of those pounds, kid...you're gonna look and feel so awesome in hawaii!...

marilee, i think 3 eggs in a day is all i can handle :-)

nancy, thanks for the chant - it helped...so, what are we chugalugging??? ;-)

misty, congrats on edging down...looks like we are moving in the right direction!

Yay Tony!!!! good job 207....you rock!!!!

Marilee, I'm one of those "eggies".....most of my protein is eggs and then meat, and I will have days of egg "Fasting" I love it, it really works well for me and helps me break any stalls. There are so many things you can do with eggs....egg creams, scrambled, fried, boiled....love them!!!!
