Good for you. What type of exercise do you enjoy?

Clanger:
I really would like to enjoy exercise of any kind..but at the moment I have some issues that keep me from doing anything too arobic..but some water exercise would be nice. Maybe some floor exercise..I will have to check what is on TV..

I don't qualify for the Silver Sneaker program yet.. have to be on Medicare.. I was misinformed.

Morning all,
FF - that sounds great once you get hooked up at home, it will definitely help you stay out of the kitchen! Make yourself a nice big cup of green tea, put on some of your great music and all will be well.

LCShadows, YUP, Me Too on starting the transition out of 1X sizes, congrats!

Plateau Trivia here: The biggest plateau, which I am on, is the Tibetan Plateau in central Asia..it is 4x the size of Texas (or France) and averages 4500 ft elevation.

However, today I am down another 1lb...so I am officially in the 30lb Club, so maybe I have found the way off the plateau.

B: hb egg, leftover sauteed spinach, 1/3 avocado
Snack: 1/4 c blueberries, 8 walnut pieces
L: salad from home, has chicken in it
D: chicken curry, unsauced....
40 min treadmill b4 dindins....

those of us who are plateau-ing are going to feel so elated...

when we bust it!!! i am being as patient as i possibly can, doing little things a little differently. Today, i had bkfst at 6:45am, instead of now- 10:15am. it was, strangely, rather filling. I took a 2 oz piece of Kraft x-tra sharp cheddar, sliced it in thinner pieces, and stuffed it into 1/2 of the low carb pita. It was oh soooo good!!! My lunch hour, i am spending in the dentist's chair.(btw-what is the difference between a dentist and a sadist? the sadist has newer magazines) I stole that from Seinfeld. I will finish my chinese ribs (no bbq sauce)tonight and to that, i shall make the grilled asparagus. I have not eaten asparagus in well over a year. FF

Got called to work yesterday, I only work in the summer unless a clients calls and needs us. But wouldn't you know it was the coldest day ever -17 without the chill factor. But the good thing is going to work kept my mind of food and was down a little more this morning. But I did pack a bag with my water.

Nancy wtg on 30 lbs that's great.

ff it's going to be nice to have a computor at home. All kinds of things you can do. Have fun at the dentist, one of my favorite places to be

well, finished with the dentist....for now.

everything else had a juicy co-pay attached. same time next year...maybe. i still have time for some lunch, but i will just stick to a low carb hc, and leave the WW points for this evening. I am making my grilled asparagus to accompany the remainder of the chinese ribs (12 1/2 ). i finally, last night, had the first fruit i have had in ages-1/4 cup blueberries. i ate them 1 by 1. i still had supper in me, so it was not as if i was eating them on an empty stomach. i will rotate the berries, or perhaps get a package of mixed berries, if there is such a thing. Well, let me get my hc, so i can get the taste of Ferenghi blood out of my mouth. FF

Hi everybody. Just got back from primary care doc about my knee. Had x-rays taken and a referral to an orthopedic doc Thursday afternoon. Hoping it's just a sprain or pull.

No loss today, but wasn't expecting one.

Congratulations LiveFree - a pound is a pound!!!!!

Need to get to work. TTYL

clanger, i'd pay to see ya on the treadmill...got anything on youtube? ha ha ha

ff, it'll be great when you are hooked up at home and can help me with all these ladies over the weekend - they're wearing me out! btw, you are an anti-dentite!

hey lizzie, the nice thing about water-weight gain is that it can come off as fast as it goes on - thank goodness!

nancy, i'm so impressed - not only with the size of that tibetan plateau (which is tiny compared to mine) but also of you logging 40-minutes on the treadmill...way to go, girl!

marilee, good luck with the knee...your primary care doc must have been elated with your progress, right???

i am having a great day so far...started out at 209, which is this week's goal (and 3 lbs. of water below yesterday's 212)...so now the pressure is on NOT to screw up...have eaten very little so far today:
b: 2 oz. sliced turkey breast
l: handful of roasted peanuts
s: clementine
d: ?

seems like several of us are on a plateau at the same time...we gotta break this thing!...hoping i can get to 206 by the end of the month, so i'll have 1derland within my sights for the end of march!...i really, really, really wanna get there during this blitz!

Clanger...I have an Ipod-Ipod. (Shuffle maybe?) Just a tiny little thing smaller than a match book. There is no screen. And it's blue. Does that help??
Seriously, thank you for the link. Surely I'll be able to figure this out without asking my husband for help. I am very confused by anything computery.

As for the yogurt, it is very easy...and so much more affordable than just buying it at the store. In fact, now that I've been reading more about making yogurt, I find that I didn't even need the maker. Lots of people just do the prep work and then put it in the oven -- with just the oven light on for warmth! -- to get the culture to do its thing.
If you want alot more info, search for "kbeth yogurt making."

NH, congrats on the 30-lb club!

Gibby, hope everything is okay with the knee. Knee injuries suck.

FF, at the sports injury.

Kbeth, I don't have an iPod, just a $20 disposable mp3 player, and I found a C25K program that would play on it. It was a series of podcasts some guy had put together for the C25K. I can't run, but I use them to stay in my target zone on the elliptical on icy days. There are tons of C25K podcasts out there. The one I got was a free one from Robert Ullreys, but I think the C25K web site had links to others.

Hi everyone!

Glad to see everyone's doing so well...FF & Tony you guys are so funny, what great leaders for our little band.

Today was busy AGAIN at work....can't really complain though at least "busy" keeps me from over eating.

My goal this week is to drop 3 pounds, so I'm trying to be super good...though I think I hear a glass of wine beckoning me....

well, the Mozart & Augustus celebration will not be this year.

It started snowing vehemently just before the lunch hour began yesterday, so i cancelled my transportation to the bakery. It turned out to be a false alarm. Tonight, is the real deal. So, Thursday Jan 27, there will be no low carb cheesecake, no low carb tiramisu, no low carb gelato, and no cookies for the office. There will be music by Mozart all day long on WQXR FM 105.9, and WQXR.org on the web. That is the best I can hope for. I was so dissappointed, i did not even make my grilled asparagus. i will try to pull myself together for this evening. I did , however, stay on plan, not using all my WW points or net grams of carbs. So glad it was such a small container of blueberries. They might as well have been potato chips or pretzels. I could easily have eaten a quart or more. As it is, it contained only 1/2 cup or 2 portions of 1/4 cup each. FF

6:15am EST....the troll is tolerably hungry.

time to whip out the FAYGO diet choc soda. Actually, that is redundant. FAYGO makes only diet soda. As i had a very early bkst yesterday, i want to keep Mr. Stomach guessing. so i will have my tuna at 10:15. I am so entertained by the food porn threads on this site. You guys should try looking sometimes. It might give you some ideas to enhance your low carb repertoires. FF

ff-I was a little hungry this morning too.

The scale was kind to me today - down a pound for a total of 20 this month.

I'll check in later at lunch.......

it tasted so much the better for having waited.

if i was home, i would have to have left the house, to avoid hitting the fridge. For lunch, I believe i will take a walk over to the cafeteria, and see what they have. it is worth it for the walk alone. FF

hey guys, how is everyone today?

marilee, 20lbs. is AMAZING!!!...wowee!!!...you've lost over half of what i've lost in 10 months, in only 3 1/2 weeks...that is incredible...i am soooo proud of you...

ff, sorry to hear about your bakery plans being thwarted...i love hearing you talk about all those yummy LC treats...i enjoy them vicariously through you, brother...

me, the plateau guy, is at 211 again today (+2 lbs.) after what was a good day yesterday...so my body is definitely fighting me - no doubt about it...if i don't get to 209 by friday, i will institute the "no eating after 9 p.m." ban i have been threatening myself with...i will keep it in place until i get to 205...

the judge has spoken

Thanks, Tony, but it will soon end The plan I'm on requires you to go on a 3 week maintenance plan so the loss stays lost and your body can recoop from all of the hard work it did.

The maintenance is pretty much Atkins so it will be nice to eat more choices of my favorite foods.

vicki, i do not know what TOPS is...but..

i am glad u did not "bottom" out.
gibby: i am also on a 4 wk maintenance. but mine is not voluntary, it is compulsory. it is called a PLATEAU. Tony: u do not have to live vicariously. there are so many things in the food porn threads, that are not difficult to do. many of the things i see are for special occasions only, others for fairly regular occasions. almost all can be tweaked to bring it into line for Ferenghi or HEWMON tastes. Made it to the cafeteria for lunch. Took back a nice salad for 2 times. I had a double portion of quality mercury with that annoying tilapia that is hard to separate from it. The whole thing (2 meals)was $8.13. Not bad. not quite sure what i am having for supper. but i must make the asparagus before it spoils. FF

Hey all, changed my avatar. It's not a real dog, just a wine holder

Congrats Vicki on the 1.75 loss! Cool that the scale does .25 increments.

Marilee, knees do get happier once the weight goes so you are on your way, hope the ortho specialist has a mini-invasive solution for you if that's what is needed.

Tony - peanuts are legumes, you should go with walnuts or pecans...and the if it's deli sliced turkey, it has sodium in it. The clem has sugar in it. Listen to the voice of reason. Ditch the fruit for now.

Misty1028 - our dogs don't care how cold it is, do they!?

Dindin tonight will be salmon, asparagus (I roast 'em coated lightly in olive oil, and seasonings), some other roasted veg....plus salad prep for me & DH. Oh boy, he has his Chuboff weigh-in tomorrow at work!

Everyone else, stay your course and don't go adrift.....

So how do you all avoid peer pressure? Today at work there was a birthday and everyone was enjoying this really great dessert. I said, "no thank you" and they all seemed really offended and kept nagging at me until I ate a small spoonful to shut them up! I had lost 2 lbs of the water weight I had gained back but now I"m sure it will be back tomorrow! On one hand, I don't want anyone to be offended but on the other hand I work too hard to get the weight off just to gain it back...
