Mee too, vli1127! I've learned that I simply can't have salted nuts in the house, otherwise I'll mindlessly chomp away all evening on them. Chilli peanuts, in particular, are my nemesis . I can snack on almonds, though, without going over the top for some reason.

Good for you, tony8! Hope you're having a successful weekend !

I had a drink of diet coke for the first time in months today... ... I can't believe I used to drink so much of the stuff!

Ok it's finally Saturday and am so glad to have the house to my self. With the big storm we had and power outages, we had so many people over. We bought a big generator this summer so we could power our whole house. But others were stuck so we had them over. Did pretty good on plan considering that we had alot of pot luck dinner with others.

Vicki got to try your recipe, out store had bags of cold slaw for 3 bags for 1.00 so I got 6 and really didn't know how to use it all. But the price was so good. Thanks.

Don't beat yourself up, Tony. Have you ever tried making fried chicken with ground pork rinds? I believe ff mentioned that before. They are legal

It's early and my coffee is ready and the paper is here so I can do the NY Times and LA Times crosswords but I wanted to report a .6 pound loss.

Yea!!!!!

I'll check in later.

I'm sure it's medicinal, what with the freezing weather you've been having ! Hope you enjoyed it !

Sometimes, you just need to have it in order to get the craving out of your system. And, according to quite a few folk on the board, sometimes mixing it up a bit with calories and carbs can also be a good thing too.

Now get your decontamination suit on and remove the leftovers from your kitchen !

Quite a good day so far - started week 2 of C25K this morning, and also did a little shopping. For the first time in many years I had to put a jacket back on the rail because it was ... *gasp*... too BIG !

It's great being able to shop in 'normal sizes' once again - the first time for well over a decade, I think.

They're definitely 'vanity sizing' though. I'm sure a size 10 from twenty years ago is equivalent to a 12 in today's sizes.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend !

marilee, you have become a weight-losing machine :-)

clanger, congrats on dropping sizes...that's a NICE feeling!...

i'm not beating myself up at all - no regrets...i feel like i am developing a much healthier relationship with food and eating...i know my weaknesses and the limits of my will-power and my commitment to never being obese again...

a year ago, i would have been raiding the fridge this morning and eating leftover fried chicken for breakfast or lunch, but not today...i reached past the chicken, ribs and side dishes and grabbed my trusty hb egg...ate it after a shot of acv...

i weighed in at 210 today - 4 lbs. over yesterday but i understand that the chicken was salty last night and i drank a lot of water and gained a few lbs. of fluid...i know i won't binge, i know i won't get too far off track, i know i can survive gaining a couple of pounds and remain on a weight-loss trajectory...

all of this makes me feel like i am in control and not deprived and that makes me happy...this has been a long journey so far, and i know and accept that i have a long road ahead of me - i don't expect to get to goal until the end of this year, but i fully expect to get there...

i feel great today :-)

Yay, tony8, good for you!

I've been thinking along similar lines over the last few days.

It has been a long journey - it took me almost 20 years to gain 100lbs of extra fat! It's taken me less than a year to lose the first half of it, and, if it takes the rest of this year to lose the second half, I'll be more than happy. Beyond that, I hope for another 30-40 years of dietary diligence and good health.

So, in the grand scheme of things, taking a couple of years to journey from morbidly obese to a healthy weight, whilst eating plenty of fresh, good quality wholefoods, doesn't seem like such a bad deal.

It doesn't stop my inner toddler from having a tantrum every now and again, though, impatient to see miraculously quick results .

Hi! I would like to join in too! I am not new to this forum, but left and came back after a long absence and so ready to get back on plan. Even hate to write this, but weighing in at 180 this morning, I'd like to find myself around 160 by my birthday April 1st.

Hey, Taylor, welcome to the Blitz !

160lbs sounds like a great target to shoot for. And as somebody mentioned on the boards previously, the time will pass anyway, so we may as well spend it on plan!

Looking forward to getting to know you !

tony yes that my little cottage with all that snow. Because I live on a dead end street the town will haul away the snow if it get to high because of fire hazzard. We have not hydrents so in case of a fire they have to break through the ice and pump it. Good thing Dh is on the department. I love fried chicken, take the left overs and cut up and make a nice chef salad. Can't let it go to waste. yummo

clanger wtg on new size shopping, I bet it was fun. Now just think of the new spring clothes you'll be buying.

Taylor glad to hear your back on lcing. I think 160 is a nice goal to go for.

I just typed a long update and my connection failed and I had to reboot and lost it--darn it! The short version is I'm still dropping down and am within 2.5 of my low point before xmas--my goal is to get there by next weekend. I know that seems like a lot, but I gained it that fast so why can't I lose it that fast!

Making spaghetti squash tonight. It's a really good noodle/pasta substitute if you've never tried it. Not overly squashy-tasting either!

marilee, you are a big wig who is getting smaller by the minute...wow!!!...another pound?...

artemis, try to get used to it...drinking ice water burns calories as your body has to heat it up...cold showers do the same thing, but are less enjoyable...lol...

Welcome Lizzie, good to see you again.

Last week I had an appt. with a homeopath and all of my supplements were changed. Some are sublingual (under the tongue) and need to be taken at least 15 minutes before a meal. Some supplements are to be taken with supper too. This is quite a change from what I was taking before and how often. Therefore, adjustment to this new schedule is taking some time.

That being said, I am going to forgo the hcg drops since those are also sublingual and should be with every meal. I can see me not doing them at lunch due to my crazy class schedule. Most days I only have half an hour for lunch and I can't see taking up to 15 minutes waiting for drops to absorb.

I am going to follow the Fat Flush diet by Ann Louise Gittleman. I had done her Fast Track Detox over the summer and had really good results. Problem is, I strayed away.
