I love talking about it, almost as much as eating their low carb goodies.

It is in Bklyn., NY., NCGirl. They do deliver, but only cookies, be they low carb or not. You can google them at TASTYPASTRY.COM. If u ever make it to my neck of the woods, WE have a date to go there. i tell you, for me it is a religious experience. FF

Hello everyone,
I am down 1 lb today and seeing a new low on the scale--have lost 25lbs now! I'm feeling really good about this, but nervous about this weekend. I will be traveling this weekend going to stay at my parents, seeing brother, etc. to celebrate christmas with them so there will be some several big feasts involved--I just hope I can keep the damage to a minimum and then continue the downward trend next week.

communication helps.

they must repect your needs and feelings. If u have the time, make some low carb things (savory and/or sweet)to share with the family. I will be a guest at friends of the family for Christmas dinner. I am sure that the gift cookies and table wine will assuage any hurt feelings that they may occur, if i omitted eating certain high carb things. I know u will have a great time. FF

I know what you mean. I am doing some traveling tomorrow as well and on Sunday to visit family for Christmas dinners...these people all like to eat! I'm going to stick with a lot of meat and hope for deviled eggs.

Have a good weekend everyone! Traveling tomorrow to visit family...heaven help us. My brother and his wife have....drum roll....13 animals. Yes they live out in the country. The animals are all inside/outside and it's like being attacked when you go there....gotta love my family LOL. My black lab is the size of a small horse and stays inside too but he is one dog and behaves for the most part, unless he sees food haha! Kind of like me And btw, off to a great start, today I stayed very low carb. I can do this!

hey congrats, ncgirl!...i knew you could do it... :-)

sunday night is our big family party...i'm feeling strong now, but my siblings will be bringing all my favorite italian specialties from ri, where i grew up...i rarely get to have them and i miss them and it will be a test to avoid them (okay, maybe a nibble)...i really don't want to have to lose the same weight again and i'm dying to see 209 on the scale for the first time in many years, so we'll see how strongly i feel about that...

i'll check in later...

Making two key lime pies for hubby's family's get together tomorrow. I pledge to not eat one drop of these delicious pies....not even licking the spoon. Sigh...have ate great today...lots of meat. Will power. I can do this.

I ended up having a burger burger, bunless, with cheese and hot sauce late last night so was worried I would gain. Only up about .40 today so not worried. Just glad I did not go carb crazy yesterday and stuck to plan. Today there will be LOTS of food, tons of sweets, etc...but I am again proclaiming to stick to plan. I will not have one iota of bad carbs today and I will not eat mega portions of anything. Honestly, I think posting every day is making me feel accountable. I even remembered my committment yesterday morning when I was at Wendy's getting lunch since we were on the road. I looked at fries and was like "whoa....not going to happen." I ordered a double Baconator, gave the fries to hubby and threw out the bun. It was good and I felt victorious.

ncgirl, i know what you mean about accountability and posting here...i never thought a support group could mean so much to me - i am a pretty independent person and had never reached out for help with anything...but when i got serious about making a life change last april, there must have been a part of me that realized i needed help...

i absolutely could not have lost 35 pounds without these blitzes and these friends...

i feel crappy this morning and i am soooo happy about it...this is the way i used to feel all the time and it used to feel normal and good...now when i eat something crappy like salty chinese food, i can tell the difference...my body now loves good food and lets me know when i abuse it...this will help me over the next week...

hope everyone has a great sunday!...stay strong...

p.s. ncgirl, happy you found us! :-)

sure, tony8...it's a date...you're buyin'....

but don't expect anything in return. I'm not THAT KIND of troll. You guys should have seen what was in my fridge all day yesderday through this morning!!! It is safe now. Most of it was for office consumption incl 2 & 1/2 lbs of Christmas cookies (not low carb)and 1 entire low carb cheesecake to be split between Cleopatra and myself, 4 slices each.At home, I have 2 low carb tiramisus for NJ, and a big gift set of cookies for the Xmas dinner hostess, and a bottle of French Cabernet Sauvignon. I am broke, but that is what it is all about (that & the hokey pokey). Well it's getting close. Take a deep breath. We'll all be fine. FF

lol, ff - i love women waaaaay too much for you to have to worry - not that there's anything wrong with that :-) btw, i'm definitely buying, bro...

i had a great day and a bad night...i can't even describe what my siblings brought into my house last night - my sister in law is a professional baker - i swear there is 10-million grams of sugar and carbs on my kitchen counter alone!...

i tasted a few things i shouldn't have, but it could have been a lot worse...when i compare what i did to what i would have done 8 months ago, it was amazing, but it still wasn't what i expect from myself these days...i almost can't wait for the new year...sad, in a way...

dinner out tonight and wed - i'm gonna have to make safe choices and bring the stuff in this house to work...i'm gonna survive this!!!

i postponed journaling yesterday's conumption till this morning.

i went overbudget 10 gramsworth yesterday (low carb pita bread- i ate 2). but, i saved 5 which are now safe in the fridge. I consumed 25 WW optional points as well in addition to the 55 daily points. weekends ARE TOUGH!!! I really could have eaten all 7 pita breads, but i thought of all of us here. Being hungry (the leptin factor?) was the lesser evil over the consequence of 49 additionalgrams of carbs plus about 80 grams of fiber (yikes!!!). FF

well, i think i must be dying...what happened this morning has not happened during any of these blitzes...saturday, the scale said 210, yesterday the scale said 211 and this morning it said 216...i know i didn't gain 6 lbs. in 2 days, but it still has me worried...i'm thinking about how much salt i may have ingested and fluid, and i do feel bloated, but if i didn't have 8 months of experience to know better, i'd be climbing onto a bridge right now...

not much i can do except to have a good day today and another one tomorrow and another one the day after that...slow and steady and no room for discouragement or panic...this is just a blip on the radar screen... :-)

Behind on my posts again -- just catching up after the weekend. Drowning in work still. Ugh.

Welcome, ncgirl! I'm in Western NC.

You guys are so rocking it with these menus. I am just trying to stick to LC and not even count calories. I may not be losing, but I'm not gaining either. Not only would I not worry about 2T of peanut butter, but I've actually made SF peanut butter fudge this season. As long as the sugar, grain and dairy stay out of my diet and the carbs stay within reason, I'm counting it a success.

We did plan the Christmas menu, though. We're having duck, a romaine and tomato salad with choice of dressings, sweet potato medallions, SF pudding, and grapes/cheese/nuts for those who want them. Followed by a SF, grain-free pumpkin pie with pecan crust. (I also plan to have SF choc/peppermint fudge around in case people bring cookies, so I'll have an alternative ready to go.)

i am getting my chinese food steamed these days.

(except for the ribs and the soup). then i can doctor it up to my own specifications, thus eliminating the salt and msg. I am getting too close to my 1/8/11 Dr. visit, and i want to start getting my htn meds cut down a bit (i take losartan (generic for cozaar), and atenolol (generic for something or other). somehow, yesterday, i wound up with the wrong x-ray request slip. so, the rt knee issue will have to be put on the back burner till sometime in 2011. I just ran out of time. 1st, jury duty, then dentist (groan), then the rt knee. it does feel better, but for how long? And the rt foot,-we mustn't forget the right foot. I am sorry I missed the lunar eclipse. I wish they would schedule it for a more convenient time. They also schedule meteor showers on overcast days (in greater NY skies.) I can never catch a break. hey ff, sorry to hear about the x-ray mix-up...i'm sure you would like to be getting that figured out...i missed the eclipse too - it was snowing here...just a dusting, but no moon...

i am struggling a lot more than i thought i would this week, and the worst is ahead of me...i have to have the best possible day today - yesterday was just so-so and tomorrow night is my son's birthday dinner out...afraid to climb on the scale after the results from sun and mon, but i will...

hope everyone else is doing well...i'll be back in a bit :-)

Struggling a little bit as well this week...seems almost every day someone is sending sweets over. I threw out the rest of the Key Lime pie that I made (I had made 2 to take to hubby's family's thing) and they were a huge success...but very tempting. Finally just tossed the leftover one this morning. Anyways...no weight loss probably this week. Hopefully just no gain either.

there is a bakery i go to in Bklyn NY....

they make some low carb items which are really so rich tasting. the cheesecake has the advantage (for those who care)of being low fat as well as low carb. It is 4 gr net, for our lot, and 3 WW points for their lot. I am both lots. Even their low carb gelato is also fat free. What counts for me, is that these things are so yummo. I just recently found out, that the only thing they ship are cookies. However, all those who come to Bklyn please let me know in advance, and we will arrange to have a bash. FF

if we have a bash, count me in... :-)

well, i'm a way overweight 214 today - down 2 lbs. of water (i guess) from yesterday but still 4 lbs. over last thursday's official weigh-in...

i'm determined to have a great day today - skipped breakfast, had a hb egg for lunch and making stir-fry for dinner...no junk, even though it is all over this house...

i feel crappy, which should be the biggest incentive of all to stay on-plan...i think i need these slips once in a while to motivate me - i guess i am a strange bird :-)

ncgirl, i'm very proud of you for throwing out the pie...i think i sent 2,000,000 grams of carbs to work today in the form of bagels and cookies and lemon squares and pizza...

do you ever feel like there is a giant conspiracy to keep us fat??? :-)

Yes, Tony, and someone is raking in big profits from that conspiracy. And the bad news, FF, is that someone isn't us.
