Hi girls!
Are we starting another week already? Can't believe it's almost Labor Day already. Any plans anyone?

Eating has been off - as it is on the weekends. DH took me and DD for ice cream last night. They only have one SF flavor so I caved and got regular. Back on plan today tho!

Who's watching the Emmy's tonight? I'm really more interested in the red carpet shows myself. Will tape the Emmy's and watch Big Brother instead - if I can stay up that late.

Cindy - what did you buy at Coach?

Dani - how was your trip to Maine? Someday we're going to have to meet in the middle. Boston maybe?

That's it for me - see you all tomorrow!

Ugh, me too! I just can't get it together on the weekends, and I end up undoing all the hard work I put in during the week-the weight loss, the positive thinking AND the banishing of sugar/carb cravings

I sometimes wish there was rehab for compulsive eaters-I sure could use it! My new plan is NO cheats. No weekend cheat meals, no bites of my son's cereal bars...I did this right when I first began, and didn't allow myself anything off plan for months-and it worked for me! It's radical, but I'm obviously not ready to enforce self control with sugary/carby stuff yet.

Here's hoping for a great week for all of us!

Hi everyone!

I made it through the weekend OK. I added in some fruit yesterday and some WW crackers on Saturday, and was fine. Same weight today as on Friday.

I am coming down to crunch time on this job, as I have to deliver it on Weds. morning, so that's it for me for now. Hope we all have a great OP week!

My favorite month starts this week!

Lots on the calendar:

Camping trip
Anniversary:
Heartwalk:
Birthday:
Family Wedding:

AND I get to put out my fall decor on Wednesday!

Had a great weekend......the game Friday, the road trip Saturday, and then yesterday I grocery shopped, ran a couple errands with DD, DH came home and we all watched a movie I had taped and relaxed.

AND I started to watch True Blood last night....DD20 is a fan so sat down and watched Epi 1 with her.....

Charis; I am the same as you - when I was in my groove - NOTHING OFF PLAN touched my lips; I need to get back there for a while. Why do we do this to ourselves.

For me though; I really think this estrogen patch is affecting me - I was doing so great and then I noticed the changes shortly after going on it.....I have been on it 5 months now and am wondering if I can do something more naturally for the duration of the time I need to be on it. I have a lady at work who is BIG into natural everything, so am going to pick her brain. PLUS, I also know there is some controversy regarding hormone replacement and breast cancer issues........that scares me too.

Off to the Y this morning and then some cleaning before work at 11.......

Happy Monday all!

Tina - I'll do the challenge with you. I need to get into the 130s. I have been hanging in the 140s too long. Thanks for the great idea!!

Good morning!!

So I eased myself onto the scale this morning...and it was okay. Bottom line is that with all my business travel last week, I stayed the same. I am down 4 lbs, and still need to lose about 5 more lbs.

I don't have anywhere to go this week, although we have a lot of fun activities coming up for the weekend:

Fantasy Football draft on Thursday (we are reigning champs )

Dinner out with BiL and new girlfriend on Friday (this is the one that got divorced after 25 years of marriage, so all of this dating stuff is weird to say the least)

14th Annual Bike Tour on Saturday (Pub Crawl on bikes, and we raise $$ for charity! There were 80 !!! of us last year.)

Luisa, great staying on track!! You big loser

Tina, Anne, I am going to be pretty focused until at least Thursday. So I'll do half of a challenge. Of course, not being focused on the weekends is what got us here in the first place, right Charis??

Cindy, I did a bit of shopping while on vacation - but not enough to really satisfy my Fall shopping urges. But with the weather being SO nice, we've been hitting the beach as often as we can - so no time for shopping.

Neesie, SF ice cream just doesn't cut it for me, that's one thing I can skip. In fact, sweets in general don't cry out my name, I am way more inclined to blow it on a slice of pizza or potato chips.

Time to get cracking for work, in the midst of all these end-of-summer festivities, I kind of forget I have a full work week ahead of me.

BBL.....

Hi girls!
Happy Monday!
Looking forward to an on plan week - not usually a problem on the weekdays anyway. Trying to get up some enthusiasm for the gym - just not feeling it today but will go anyway - usually get into it once I'm there.

Cindy - were your symptoms (I'm assuming menopausal) that bad without the patch? I don't have bothersome symptoms right now - except the weight comes off much slower. Maybe you could come off the patch?

Wiz - I can pretty much do without the chips tho I do love my pizza and try not to indulge too much. My biggest problem right now is definatley ice cream. Once the days start getting colder it won't be as much of an issue. I have cut the Edy's SF that I was buying out of my diet so I may have ice cream only once every week or 2 now.

That's it for me girls!

Glad some of you are going to join me!!!! Today was a good eating day. I'm doing full phase II. Although I mostly don't have any grains, except as a treat once in a while.

DS team won tonight and he played really well.

Running in to mark my spot............

it has been a whirlwind here but I've stayed resonably true to the beach.

No time for indies or comments .............I am going out of town for a week and have just been a baking fool for my little muffin business.

But I will share a new snack:

1 cup FF milk (i use Hood's Calorie Countdown, thick & creamy and very LC)
1 SF fudgicle
1 tbl whipped PB
1 tsp vanilla extract.

All goes in the blender & voila!

Enjoy!

Will try to get back here before I head out on Friday.

to you all.

Busy week ahead! Back to work officially today...students arrive on Wednesday. Room is all set and I have my class lists. So excited to meet my students!

Neesie- yes, we'll definitely have to meet up someday! Whereabouts in Maine are you from again?

Cindy- True Blood Fan here! I am in the middle of season 2. I don't have HBO, so I've been watching it thru netflix. Did you know that Sookie and Bill just got married it real life?

Good luck ladies doing the challenge this week...you can do it! I'd join in but I'm eating a lot more carbs than normal...helps keep down the nausea. Hopefully by the 2nd trimester I can cut back on some of them. Luckily I'm not seeing any weight gain yet.

Here's to a great week!

I'm in!

I decided that if I am having coffee too that it has to be NF AND SF.......alot of my coffee's lately have been NF but not SF!

I am eating P2 this week too Tina......only one grain a day.

Dani - you don't have to participate, but you canNOT disappear!

Jenn - I wondered where you went! Do not disappear either, unless out of town!

Neesie - my symptoms weren't that bad.....more moodiness, some hot flashes, sleeplessness, and a couple other things I can't mention here I just think there has to me some alternatives!

Off to pry the TV from DH so I can watch at least one show before bed!

Good morning!!

Well, actually, it's been a crappy morning . Woke up with ToM which instantly adds weight to the scale which in turn makes me even crankier! But I did a 4-mile run to combat my evil temper, and it seems to have worked. I'm ready to have another good day of eating - even though my husband sabotaged me by bringing home peanuts. I cannot resist any kind of nuts, darn it. I ate far too many of them last night while watching The Closer (I LOVE that show...)

Dani, good to see you check in. Hope the new school year goes so much better for you than last year.

Jenn, have fun while away!

Hey fellow North Easterners, hmmm...whatcha thinking about Hurricane Earl? I have to tell you that I don't like the path of this one. A little too close for comfort. We're stocking up on bottled water and flashlight batteries, just in case.

Gotta run, see you all later!

Good Morning!

OK - had a mini-whoosh on scale so I'm feeling better today. eek. All those carbs this wkdn. So bad! Too much of everything.

After Labor Day, DH and I are thinking about trying "Social Suppers." - You go make all the food and then take home about 6 meals at once (with sides if you want). I've done the math and it's cheap for 2 people. IN fact, for $2 more/meal they'll assemble for you!! They have Low Carb, Low Fat options (with WW pts if anyone cares) - and they also have the complete crap stuff (Calzone, mac & cheese).
Work for me this season is so busy, I think I may sign up for a week or so. DH & I have SUCH a problem w/ dinner - never want to cook, portion control, you name it.
When we did Freshology before, it was nice b/c there was never any fights about "what's for dinner" - Freshology is SOOOOO expensive and I did not lose that much. I found their food to have LOTS of carbs.

Kind of a weird week - going to a friend's Lake house on Friday-Sunday. She has asked me to make my "famous" wings - and, if you would like YOUR wings to be "famous" -
make Alton Brown's Buffalo Wing Recipe (on food network dot com) - holy smokes!!!!
They are not fried, they are steamed then roasted then sauced. INCREDIBLE STUFF.

Dani - sometimes saltines and toast are the answer! The key is to feel better! Good luck with the kiddos this week!

Wiz - eeeek! Hurricane Earl. Be safe up there!

I'm on the southeast shore of Long Island-2 miles from the ocean and like 1000 feet from the bay! So yeah, I'm a little nervous about Earl.

All good on the eating front here-feeling positive!

Oooh, you are in the same boat as me! We are less than a mile from the ocean and have the Manasquan River right out our back door. Hopefully it will just be a rain event, but I'm still not liking the Northeast track it's on. I'm waiting for it make a sharp East turn and go out to sea....

Hello Ladies,

Well I blew it yesterday, was doing so good, but the fair was just too tempting for me, ended up having ice cream and a bunch of other junk that I shouldnt have, I am up 1 pd on the scales this morning. I am right back OP today though and not letting it get me down. I am a lil nervous about labor day weekend though, its a huge family camping trip and I know they are doing smores and all kinds of other goodies that will be hard for me to say no, mom is making margaritas and strawberry shortcake too, dang it!!!

Anyway, I will do the best that I can and not go crazy, the good news is I should get lots of exercise because of the hiking and swimming we will be doing, so maybe that will help me.

I hope everyone has a great week!!!

Yes Cindy, I promise not to disappear although my posting will be less frequent until I get back into the swing of things at work and I may not always have time for indies. But I would never leave you ladies for good.

Wiz, thanks for the wishes! I love my new job so far. My team of teachers is outstanding and so supportive. One of them told me this morning that I was the pick out of over 150 applicants so I better live up to my reputation! Definitely feel that this is a great move for my career and overall happiness.

Stella, thanks! After eating lower carb for so long it is hard to wrap my brain around eating extra carbs, but you are right sometimes when you are sick those are the best things for it!

Ok, School officially starts tomorrow and it will be very early to bed for me. Between getting everything ready for the first day and being preggo I am pooped!!!

to all!

OMG soooo excited when I got on the scale this morning, 168, that puts me at an even 60 lbs lost!!!!

Dani - Enjoy your first day of school!!!!

How's the challenge coming for everyone?

I've been eating strawberries with SF cool whip all summer as dessert. I need to find a replacement since fall will be hitting us soon and strawberries prices will skyrocket. I'm thinking of making Jody's pumpkin bake, just tweaked to be SB friendly. I look forward to having that dessert every night after dinner, so I want to keep having something, just to keep me on track.

Charis and Wiz - Hope that hurricane turns away!!!!

Have a good day everyone.

Morning my lovely beach ladies!

DD20 will leave today; school starts tomorrow.....she ended up staying a little longer as she is having some female issues  and we are going to try and get her into the doc this morning. Believe it or not, she has never gone alone - never wanted to - hates the doc - and she will have to today. I hate this stuff; even at this age - I wish I could always go when she needs me!

Glad everyone is OP. Me too! I did have a coffee yesterday, but it was sf, ff!!! Part of my challenge to myself.

Dani - hope you have a GREAT day!!!!

Tina - shoot me, but can you point me in the direction of Jody's pumpkin bake?

Hugs to all; I am running late!

Good morning everyone! *yawn*
My DH started an overnight shift this week and consequently i've been sleeping like crap!

My eating has been fine...good to see that everyone seems on track so far this week!

Tina, congrats on 60lbs lost! You rock : ) I made the pumpkin bake into "cupcakes" last week and put a little ff cool whip on top-they were delicious, but I had control issues with them! I ended up giving the last half of the batch away. Cindy, I would look for the link but I'm posting from my iPad-if it hasn't been posted, I'll link when I'm near a pc next. It was on the main page of the recipe board last I checked!

I'm making protein pancakes for breakfast this morning. They're delicious, easy & flour free. It's a scoop of protein powder, 1/4 cup egg whites, 1/4 skim or almond milk, 1/2tsp baking powder, and a pinch of salt. ' They fluff up really nicely! Yesterday I went to Whole Foods and I found THE MOST DELICIOUS THING EVER-Justin's Chocolate Hazelnut Spread! It tastes better than nutella, in my opinion...grainier, like a true nut butter, and more subtly sweet. It's decadent! It's not 100% legal, because it does have added sugar, but only 3.5 grams per tablespoon (and 95 calories). I fear I will have control issues with it, so we'll see. The plan is to have a tablespoon mixed into a jello chocolate
mousse with some fat free cool whip for dessert.

Have a great day everyone!

Hello all,

Busy work day on tap. I have a large proposal going out the door, off to a client based in India. It's been a doozy to put together. I'll be happy to see it finished. Of course, if we get short-listed for the deal - then the fun really begins.

I took a day off from running, and did 10 miles on my exercise bike. Just enough to wake me up! My feet need a break one day a week.

Given that it is ToM and I am bloated beyond belief, I skipped my weigh-in today. No sense getting all riled up over something beyond my control. I just keep eating cleanly and know that in a day or two - all will be back to normal! I did have an "medicinal" glass of chardonnay last night (as opposed to an Advil ). But hey, I've been doing Phase 1 plus wine. So in my twisted world, that was legal!

Tina, you rock!!! Congrats.

, I've never liked going to the Dr and I still don't. Dentists are fine, but I hate the Dr's office. Tell your daughter, she's not the only one!

Hope everyone has an awesome OP day!!!

Hi ladies,

It's raining here, and that is good news indeed. Let's hope it keeps up for a while.

The other good news is that I lost a total of 5.5 lbs. in August, so I am just over 1/3 of the goal I set for myself. Now all I need to do is stick with it! I do have some challenges coming up, though. We're hosting a BBQ (7 people total) on Saturday. I have planned some good food that's OP (peaches with serrano ham and basil, dill dip with veggies, tossed salad, rosemary-ranch chicken kebabs) but others that I should stay far away from (goat cheese with thyme, peppercorns and lemon oil, Greek pasta salad, dulce de leche cheesecake bars and plenty of good wine) but probably won't.

Tina - congrats!

Uh oh, the rain has turned into a huge, huge storm, so I'm outta here!
