I cleaned the garage today...nuff said, huh? I found a suit packed away that I wore 20 years ago...and I put it on That could NOT have happened until very recently. The waist of the straight skirt didn't close by about 4 inches. But I had it on!

Mumasatus - Yikes that is a lot of $$$. How many do you prepare meals for? Do you have a separate budget for eating out. I almost never eat in restaurants, and haven't done fast food this year either (my previous downfall) so my food bill is lower on LC. You get a ton of exercise carrying your little one!

hockeymom - Biking is so much fun. Did you ride around the neighborhood or take your bike to a special place?

Kissa - Doesn't it suck that veges have so many carbs? When I first went LC I had no idea!

We have 5 children, but 2 of them don't eat much yet. It costs over $100 to go to a sit down restaurant, so we only do that twice a month. We never eat fast food.

I let each person plan and cook one meal, so we did get some shrimp, and three steaks, but nothing else particularly expensive. I don't buy anything in a box or processed.

I need to go work in the garden this weekend. I've been predicting that food prices would go up this fall. I think they may already be going up. We have a pig ready for the butcher, and my older girls are making cheese almost every day now. I had some goats I wanted to send to freezer camp, but my daughter sold them to pet homes for $50 each. There was not $50 of meat on them, so that is fine.

Dh and I also left all the kids but the baby at home, so grocery shopping doubled as our date night. We will take them out to lunch tomorrow for our restaurant meal this pay period.

As I was watching the checker ring up meat and fish and berries and spinach, I thought there are not many things I'd rather spend money on than good food. I think it is so important.

I have an all day thang at my friend's church today. They are providing lunch, but I'm going to pack a salad and almonds and some cheese. It will be so embarrassing to not eat the lunch they make, but I don't want the set back. I think I will bring them each a bar of homemade lavender soap to change the subject.

I'm holding steady at 162, and hoping to get into the 150s soon.

We spend quite a bit on groceries too. But we usually buy our meat and eggs at trader joes and I know that means we pay more, but the food really does taste better. I was upset for a while when I changed our eating habits because lets face it, theres no coupons for vegetables and cheese, but I think our health is worth it. Shopping at the local farmers market does help tremendously during the summer.

As for me if anyone has any spare we would love to have some thrown our way. Our insemination is in the morning and I am nervous. Bloated and nervous.

May you be blessed with love, and with good health to welcome a new life to your family. May your doctors have the needed knowledge and skills to help you.

Well, heck yea! WooHoo to you! Unfortunately, I am up 2 pounds this morning...and I guess I have to "take that" too

I agree with you that providing the most excellent nutrition that you know how and can afford to do is one of the joys (and jobs) of parenting...and grandparenting too BTW.

Your children are so lucky to grow up with the lifestyle you have deliberately provided for your family. I'm guessing that you're tired...but never bored at your house!

Bungle - for a successful insemination.

Mumasatus - Totally feel you on the groceries - I'm feeding 5 kids - all them eating ALOT! Well, one just left back to the US for another year of college. But the ones at home are 9, 10, 12, and 14 and they can EAT!!!!

Hockeymom - I love riding my bike! Unfortunately it will be 3 04 4 more months before the weather cools enough here to be able to enjoy it again!

Jkaay - Cleaned the garage???? GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!

Didn't track my food on ****** again today but I was a good girl and stayed under 15 carbs! We grilled ribeye steaks in the backyard. They were so yummy! I had DH grill a couple extra for my lunch at work tomorrow!

Back to the grind tomorrow - that means back to working out, though!

Saturday 17 July

Exercise - 0
Total Calories - >1600
Total Carbs - > 15

Made it through a family picnic/birthday party today without eating the cake and other carbage. The nice thing is I didn't feel deprived. I have worked hard to get out of the 140's and I don't want to mess that up.

Bungle- Hope your insemination is successful!

I hope the insemination was stress free and successful. Do you have to wait 14 days to find out if you are pregnant? It must be nerve wracking.

Congrats again Jeanie for your new decade and on skipping the carbs at your party. I'm sure that the foods were extremely tempting.

I would say my kids eat LOWER carb. They do eat sandwiches - only wholegrain bread. They do get treats such as brownies, cookies and cakes once in awhile - but always homemade so I know EXACTLY what is in them. They are not allowed to eat sugar (except for the occasional treats I make), fast food, junk food or candy. Their favorites snacks consist of veggie sticks dipped in homemade ranch dressing, homemade beef jerky, seasonal fruit (right now mangos are in season!) and whatever I happened to throw in the dehydrator fro them - veggies, fruit, fruit roll-ups. Yeah and I'm looking into getting an ice cream maker and making my own Stevia sweetened ice cream!

Thanks! Party was not a problem at all for a change. It probably sounds strange but my motivation to stay on plan is stronger than ever because I am seeing such awesome results. In my past attempts I would lose scale weight but my body shape didn't really reflect the pounds lost~ now with weightlifting and jog/walk intervals I seem to be losing more actual fat which is a great motivator for me.
Have you thought about joining us on the Couch to 5 K thread?

My kids don't eat low carb, but they do eat whole foods. My son has been a vegetarian for over 10 years, so he eats a lot of rice and beans. Today, he is making tabbouleh with sliced almonds.

Yesterday, he had friends over swimming. They wanted a snack, so he went in and got some cream cheese my 11 year old made from goat milk. He put it on melba toast, and topped with cherry tomatoes and herbs from the garden.

He was thrilled, but I think his friends went home hungry.

everyone, sorry I'm MIA over the weekends - way too busy IRL .

Have updated the spreadsheet and will post from home tonight. I've been basically bombing out the last 2 weeks - combination of too busy, too tired, too stressed and a few other factors. Anyway decided to get back on the wagon today - did a workout this morning and nutrition is on-plan so far.

Monday 07/19:-
UB weights + HIIT + yoga/stretching (75min)
B:- bacon & eggs
L:- chicken ceasar salad
D:- fried chicken & veggies

Will be cleaning/packing/arranging the house as I will be 'flat-mate' free by the weekend - WOOHOO.

Would like to add some dance training @ night, but I think the house stuff is more important at the moment. Not enough time for both.
