WOE: whatever works
Morning everyone!!!
It was entirely too nice outside last night to stay in and throw the weights around, so me and hubby-to-be went for a brisk walk instead. 2.5 miles in 35 minutes Maybe we'll get back on the weights tonight. We did purchase a new weighted olympic bar and dumbbell bars last night, so maybe I won't have to use gloves anymore.
Anyway, menu for today looks pretty close to yesterday:

B - coffee
L - 3 fried eggs, 3 bacon
S - yogurt, raw veggies
D - 3 egg omelet/1 zucchini/3 bacon/mozzarella

lotsa water

[QUOTE=michmich;13316160]Good morning, friends. I'm down 3 lbs. this morning. Woot. I know it's probably water weight, but low carb is the ONLY diet that makes the scale actually move for me. And I'm loving how DH is reacting to all of this, too. He says he can "feel his body and all that energy". LOL. Doof.

Hey 3 lbs is 3 lbs. Great job.

I too have to up the water, but it's been raining for forever here and for some weird reason I just can't seem to drink as much water when it's raining outside.

The last couple of nights I've made recipes from the Atkins website. They are really good! We had bison for the first time, too. Love it!

Today -
B - Eggs/Bacon
L - Bison/Salad
D - Spicy shrimp with avocado sauce/LC Cole slaw

I've been slamming water, taking supps and following the rules by the book. It feels so good to not feel so bloated. I hate that feeling!

I'm worried about this w/e - it's my birthday and my Mom always makes me strawberry cake. I'm not sure if it's possible to get around that one without hurting her feelings. I guess a small slice, maybe? I just don't want to screw this up. There will be plenty of others there to help eat it so that's a good thing!

Hope everyone's feeling good and staying dry! Looks like the NE got tons of rain.
Maybe she could make you a strawberry cheesecake with splenda instead?? *drool*

Down a pound today and TOM is still here so just doing a small little happy dance.

I had my first workout last night, since starting induction 6ish weeks ago. It kicked my butt! I'm really out of shape! Hoping to have the energy to workout again tonight after work.

Have a great day everyone!

Walked 2 miles with Leslie Sansone... I am so outta shape (not to mention uncoordinated), but I did it! First time I've ever exercised on 'any' program.

I'm following Lean for Life, so protein day for me today.

Have a good day everyone-

Up and at 'em this morning!

Did another taped workout despite still being quite sore from the one I did Monday.

B-fast was coffee/splenda/half and half x2 and one with coconut oil.
I'm thinking a nice salad for lunch and meatloaf and broccoli are on the menu tonight.

Have a great day! See you tomorrow!

I have been gaining all week Then yesterday I found out my yearly blood test showed high sugar & my doctor called me in & prescribed metformin & scheduled me to see an endocrinologist next week. My fiance thinks my low carb WOE caused the high blood sugar (was 12 hour fasting blood test). But I told him low carb shoud help lower blood sugar, not cause high blood sugar. Thing is my last blood test, last year was normal & I was eating 200-250g of carbs. So something is wrong with me.

Anyways I have to stop my high intensity interval training and tabata sessions because of the risk of lactic acidosis from the metformin. So I am doing moderate cardio instead. I am used to cardio as it was my daily routine to exercise 4 hours a day every day before I started eating low carb. I did 2 hours yesterday & will do 3 today before switching to 4 hours by Saturday. Amazingly enough even when I exercised 4 hours a day & ate 1200 calories I gained weight, inches & fat Which is why I switched to low carb & dropped the excessive exercise( in my view). So back to cardio grindstone & low cal, but still low carb eating.

4 hours of deliberate exercise per day seems excessive to me, too! I mean, unless that's your JOB!

B- 2 poached eggs with mushrooms
L-chicken salad with ranch
D- roast chicken & cauliflower with butter & sour cream
S- sf jello
S- cashews

Did 2.5 hours biking & 1 hour walk. Picked up some fresh blueberries today, planning on having some of those tomorrow

Good on you GwnStfni for losing a pound despite TOM.
Jeanie, way to go on doubling your workout goal.
Shimmer, grats on beating your Wii Fit goal.
Speck333- yeah I view it as excessive, but until I see the specialist I want to make sure my cardio is back to the amount I was doing pre-low carb. First thing any new doctor asks me is how many calories I am eating & how much exercise I am getting. With my HIIT out of the picture because of the Metformin, I went to my previous workout of cardio. I just want answers as to why I struggle so hard to lose weight. Hopefully the endocrinologist will help me find them.

Well it looks like everyone is getting in the exercise. WTG I made it to the gym for 1 1/2 hours. I met a friend there and she's showing me alot of different machines, there were alot of them that I couldn't figure out. It's so nice of her to help me.

Menu today
B-one minute muffin w/ cream cheese
L-2 cheeseburgs minus the bun
D-baked porkchops, green beans and mock mashed potatoes.

No exercise for me yet. I'm just focusing on eating right now. One thing at a time. Hehe.

in2win - four hours a day? Wow! That is aLOT. I hope the endo is able to give you some answers on what's going on. I'll be curious to hear what they have to say.

shimmer - good job on the dinner! Sounds yummy.

Good morning to everyone else. We get off at 3:00 today and are off tomorrow for Good Friday. Yay! Get to see the family this weekend for Easter.

So, we made this shrimp dish last night from the Atkins website. It was nasty. Ugh. I haven't eaten breakfast yet this morning because 1) I'm not hungry and 2) thinking about that dinner makes me bleck. I brought two hard boiled eggs and some celery/cheese so I'll get to it.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I think some is coming off... a shirt I bought a few weeks ago is fitting a lot better than the day I bought it.

How long have you been low-carbing? Did you drink the sugar carp they give you? I have been on low-carb since September and all three times I went off I saw reading as high as 450. I was told that you will read higher if you have been low-carbing for a while when you have high carb/sugar. Do you have your own monitor? I have one at home that I can use to see where my levels are when I am low-carbing. I can normally keep it under 100 which is my goal.

Ok down another pound today... keeping it lean, stillman's style.... seems to be the easiest way for me to lose the weight. began exercising two days ago, some aerobics and a long bike ride yesterday... boy am I out of shape!! eek! Yesterdays menu was some 2 eggs, 1 beef hot dog, 1 turkey hot dog, 6oz chicken breast for lunch, coffee, 10 little shrimp and a 5oz chicken breast for dinner... lots of hot sauce to take care of the blandness.

At work so I will check in later!

I'm up two pounds on the scale, but I know why. It's a combination of having just started working out and retaining water from that and indulging in a few extra light beers in the evening (dang spring break!). Food-wise is going just fine and I've been keeping to my fitness regime. I'll take the dog for a walk again later this evening.
Not sure what I'm going to eat today, probably some hard boiled eggs and a salad. Trying to use up the fresh food before our trip tomorrow. It's a 9 hour drive from here to my parents' house. So I'm going to spend the day packing up for that. We'll be leaving very early in the morning to get there by dinner. I've got lots of low carb snacks ready for the drive and my mom is well-versed in the woe so I'll be safe there.
My husband is down 40 pounds now, too. Anyway, I don't know if I'll be able to post or check in over the weekend, and I know I won't be able to post my weigh in until Tuesday.
You all are doing so well, keep up the good work, and I'll see you soon. Happy Easter!

My favorite recipe for shrimp is to take the pesto scallops recipe form DANDR and make it with frozen Shrimp. It is yummy hot or cold on salad greens. I make it whenever I go to Costco because I get both the shrimp and pesto there.

Hope that wasn't the one you tried LOL
