Count me in, goal for me is to get my butt in gear and back on track, with this messing around on my foods I am never going to be at my goal weight.
I complain about not losing. well if I stuck to something I would so here I am to lose this time.

I have a workout routine that seems to be successful - I've lost 2" on my hips already. 20 mins on the treadmill at a brisk walk uphill with occasional breaks into a slow jog, then upper body weights, lower body weights, 100+ crunches and leg press.

Good morning - up and at 'em.

DH had some serious withdrawals last night (he's doing this with me, thank goodness). No usual nighttime cereal fix. He survived, though.

I plan to work out on my Wii Active tonight. I love it, it's so much fun!

I'll have to check out the chocolate - the only kind I like is dark chocolate. Is it similar in taste?

LJR - congratulations!

astrl - I'm the Matron of Honor in my sister's wedding in November. It's a destination wedding in Costa Rica. So, sleeveless dresses, I'm sure. Not to mention lounging by the pool and beach. If that's not motivation, I don't know what is!!

We're also planning to take our boat and do some camping at the lake for Memorial Day weekend. That's my first motivational goal. I've got to feel good in my bathing suit or I won't be a happy camper.

We can do this!!

So I did my first workout yesterday in MONTHS, and boy do I feel it today! Thighs, glutes, abs, ouch! But it's a good pain though, the kind that tells you "hey, you've got muscles in here under all that blubber!". I'm really looking forward to walking the dog later to get some of the kinks out. Long term I'm very much looking forward to strengthening my "core" so that (hopefully) my back problems stop visiting me.
I'm still working on my morning coffee... hubby let me sleep in, bless him, since I'm on vacay.
Will check back with you all later, have a great and successful day!

You're not in RI, are you? I heard awhile ago on the radio that the mayor was telling everyone to leave work and go home. Going to be the worst flooding in 100 years!

Thanks! And yes, exactly!

So b-fast was just coffee with splenda and 1/2 and 1/2.
L: 6 oz. tuna with about 4 tlbs mayo; 2 celery stalks -- some with cream cheese and some with almond/flax butter (about 2 tbls each)
D: will be grilled chicken and zucchini baked with jack cheese.
Probably will have a few light beers later on this evening, too. Usually that will cause some water weight gain in the a.m. but I'm well under my usual 25-30 (net) carbs, so we'll see.
I'll take the dog for a 2 mile walk later on after dinner. I love daylight savings time

Thanks to those who responded to my question about atkins induction. I've decided to go for it but probably not for two weeks. Then I'll work my way through owl and pre-mat. so I can feel really secure that this is for life. Its definately helped dropping my carbs from around 40 to 20. I've lost a 1.5 lbs since monday! I've suck to exercising too, even yesterday when I was super busy. Normally I'd say, "I dont' have time", and plop my butt on the couch when I got home but instead I got up and moved. I'm proud of myself.

Good job, everyone, on the first couple days. Keep going!

Snacks One and Two: 1 Hard boiled egg each

Good morning, friends. I'm down 3 lbs. this morning. Woot. I know it's probably water weight, but low carb is the ONLY diet that makes the scale actually move for me. And I'm loving how DH is reacting to all of this, too. He says he can "feel his body and all that energy". LOL. Doof.

The last couple of nights I've made recipes from the Atkins website. They are really good! We had bison for the first time, too. Love it!

Today -
B - Eggs/Bacon
L - Bison/Salad
D - Spicy shrimp with avocado sauce/LC Cole slaw

I've been slamming water, taking supps and following the rules by the book. It feels so good to not feel so bloated. I hate that feeling!

I'm worried about this w/e - it's my birthday and my Mom always makes me strawberry cake. I'm not sure if it's possible to get around that one without hurting her feelings. I guess a small slice, maybe? I just don't want to screw this up. There will be plenty of others there to help eat it so that's a good thing!

Hope everyone's feeling good and staying dry! Looks like the NE got tons of rain.

Good morning!

Whew! Cranked it up a notch at the gym last night, and I'm feeling it. Added 4 minutes to the treadmill, went up on "fitness level" - faster, and higher incline - and added some more weights to my workout. Plus I haven't had as much sleep as is good for me, so I'm beat... hitting the coffee pot a little hard this morning...

Yesterday sucked food-wise, I just didn't have enough. Skipped b'fast, had an egg and some strawberries for lunch (NOT enough!) and a slice of cheese before going to the gym. Came home and made beef ribs, and that was better. Today... I had some egg salad for b'fast, it'll be that and berries for lunch, not sure for dinner as we have church tonight. Burger and veggies, I think.

I'm kinda glad there's no time for the gym tonight, I need a break!
