I've been struggling with what I belive is chronic fatique for about 4 years and in that time gained close to 30 lbs. In October I got very sick and it took the doctors till January to figure out it was my appendix. I felt so much better after they took it out and finally dropped some weight. I'd been eating Primal before and during my illness but couldn't lose weight. Toward the end of January I decided to go with the new found weight loss. Since I was still recovering from surgery I wanted a super easy fail proof plan. In the past when I'd feel sick I'd always go off plan. So I ordered Diet to Go, a low carb meal delivery plan. Its average cal are 1250 and ave carbs 42g. I did that for about 4 weeks and lost 16lbs. I never intended to do it long term and after 4 weeks was getting tired of the food so I've saved my last week of food for lunches only and started doing dinner on my own (was doing breakfast all along). Since that time, about a month now, I've only lost 2 lbs. I'm eating more calories now that I'm doing it on my own, between 1500-1700 and ave 30-40 carbs. I know that is still good but I'm so close to my goal now I'm worried I won't make it. I'm also concerned I don't have a plan for once I get to goal.

So I'm considering doing Atkins induction and then following the rest of the plan. What do you think? Would induction help speed up my weight loss and get me to goal or is it just going to be this slow at this weight? That's why I'm waivering. Do I want to be restrictive if this is the pace this close to goal no matter what? Please tell me what you think. Thanks
You have 10 lbs to lose and now is the perfect time to find out how you will be eating for the rest of your life. I would not do induction. I would do OWL or Pre- Main. Get the new book if you do not have it. I do '72,but I liked the New Atkins for a New You. It was a good read and you might find some answers.

Hello Everyone! Thanks for starting this challenge, I'm really happy to jump aboard! The Easter challenge I've been on is wrapping up this weekend so this is right in time! I am doing a combination of Stillman's and Atkins, keeping carbs at no more than 15 total carbs per day while on Atkins(though I'm usually under 10). I want to lose 40 pounds by the first day of summer. I began induction mid-February and haven't worked out yet but will be incorporating that into my plan within the next week or two. I will likely be biking 45mins-an hour every day and aerobics 2-3x a week. 40lbs is a lot to lose but I think it's doable in 3 months, considering my weight is still so high and I have so much left to lose.

Hi Everyone!

I am beginning with induction for 2 weeks to get rid of the carb cravings, and then, 30 or less carbs a day for the remainder of challenge. Sticking primarily to only fresh veggies and fruits and lean meats and lots of fish with the only exceptions being hard cheeses, protein bars and protein drinks.

I plan on getting to the gym 5 x a week and then weather permitting start to do power walking again. I figure I'm a slow looser at this stage of my program so I'll take 1 lb a week and more if I can. I'm on Atkins and it works great for me. In 2005 I reached my goal of 120 and after 4 years of maintaining I started gaining it back, but I jumped back on plan before I gained it all. I say a hard lesson learned. For me support and determination is whats working for me.

I've got steaks and artichokes on the dinner menu (fresh, perfect spring veg. with a mayo based dipping sauce...heaven).

My first challenge day is off to a good start! B-fast was two coffees, and an almond milk/protein powder/extra egg shake. I did my first taped workout in months. Lunch was 2 tbls peanut butter and two ham roll-ups with cheese and homemade dijonaise.
I'll try to squeeze in some Wii fit later, too.

See you tomorrow!

count me in! I have been bouncing between 125 and 129 for the last month and am ready to quit it and get to goal! I wish I knew how long it would take me to get to 118 but I know what a slow loser I am so June 21 will be my date.

Plan:
Atkins
weights/resistance 3x weekly
I'd like to get back to walking every day but my dog had knee surgery and is restricted. He'd self-destruct if I went without him

Beyond the fact that I just plain want to get back in shape, I will be a bridesmaid in my sister's wedding in August and I hate being the fat sister! Thank you! There are some great recipe threads that I wanted to find easily without having to search all the time for them (or add to my huge list of bookmarked sites). I also didn't want to bump them up by posting on them, since some haven't had a post in a year+. Now I can find them and subscribe without posting. THANKS!

I was in line at the grocery store and the woman ahead of me pointed to my Ghirardelli chocolate bar and said, "you know that is not for eating? you grabbed the wrong one..." I said "nope, that is what I eat, unsweetened baker's chocolate." she made a horrible face and I had to laugh -LOL A large square has only 2.3 carbs and no sugar alcohols.

That is the one I buy! I keep it in the freezer and it lasts for months!
